Multiple system install issues

I recently felt sorry for my back, and purchased a small lightweight laptop to use when traveling. I installed CC for Teams, but when I went to use Acrobat, I got a message that I already had active too many systems. I normally use a heavy laptop at work (personal), and a desktop at home. I can only use one system at a time, obviously. I thought I could use this wherever I needed to.
Is the issue just one of signing out and signing in again?

Fiori: incorrect alias used when multiple system aliases assigned

I'm implementing SAP Fiori PO/PR/Contract approval.
There is only 1 gateway system currently in order to support 4 ECC systems.
(Sandbox, development, quality and production)
Everything is working correctly when assigning only one (Sandbox) SAP system alias to the gateway service of PO approval for example.
However when we assign multiple system aliases and set the sandbox system alias as default things go wrong.
(Currently IW_BEP is not yet installed on the development; Quality and productive system)
And we noticed the service is resulting in an error message because these BEP function modules can not be found on the target system.
However the issue is that it should not call these systems as we have flagged Sandbox system as default.
Anyone has an idea or note for this?
(We temporary fixed this by assigning only a single alias to the services).
But in a later phase we want to add all in order to be able to test on all systems and run production as default.

I don't want to use the MOC.
I want the behaviour like mentioned in the note:
The default system is used whenever the service is not called as MOC. If you have defined more than one default system alias, the first system is used as the default.
How can I achieve this?
According to my understanding now I should make sure ";m"o is not added to the URL, but how can this be achieved?

Multiple System Folders in Operation! Consolidation Tips?

Hi from a first-wave Mac OS 6 user (Started with a Plus and 20MB External; )
An obviously stupid situation is plaguing my longtime PMac G3/266 running OS 8.6.
(Yes I DO run OSX latest versions on other machines - this is a legacy system i maintain for various reasons incl. access to otherwise orphaned files & apps).
Long story condensed...Have 2 Seagate internal HDs running. Newer one ('07: ) was installed with intent to use for backup and extra storage. Somehow along the line
TWO System Folders became active and over time of course some elements of one System have become intermingled with the other. Goal here is, as sensibly/simply as possible, unify a single system...whether that's back to 8.6, or migrating everything i NEED to an OS 9.2 drive (wiser i suppose). It has been SO long
that I don't even remember the fundamentals of migration from OS 8 to 9...but
complicating matters is this multiple Sys Folder issue.
Don't want to lose currently-active preferences... data-access to stuff like
Filemaker Pro files with time-sensitive current data like invoicing etc.
All this said, any pointers on how to proceed, to effectively keep the current status of everything in current Active use - but eliminate the other System folder wherein some components are affecting apps/docs/files in the OTHER Sys. Folder and..vice versa. This is a fragile process especially when it comes to stuff like email in an old version of Netscape Communicator that I use on this machine. As far as that app., there are multiple User folders but we need to salvage the RIGHT User Profile and Data i.e. i.e., the one that's most current and in-use.
I don't think this is as nightmarish as it might seem on the surface...I'm just looking to map an orderly strategy to approach it. What I really don't want to lose afa the System, is the correct Preferences for the active apps. Again, it seems some apps are drawing info from BOTH System/Pref folders.
BTW DW/DiskWarrior was used for Directory creation on the newer of the drives, in case that's of any relevance.
I was thinking of just picking up another HD, putting it in another, newer desktop (AGP/G4) and then migrating everything from both HDs on the older 8.6 OS machine to the newer machine which would be on 9.2.2...but under the circumstances, not sure that would be simple/straightforward unless I first resolve the duplication thing with what's on the "dueling 8.6 HDs" machine.

There is no cross-contamination in this arrangement; prefs are updated, etc., only in the System Folder for the active OS, meaning the one then running the machine.

OK, will check that. Trying to get a handle on what is going on here. Several anomalies that i need to identify the cause of. For a simple example - Old "Stickies Notes" will boot up one time and on next restart, a default startup with that app. appearing "as-new" -- i.e. no prefs at all...no database connectivity and specific "stickie-notes" that would otherwise show up under one System's startup.
Honestly it's as if the System will startup randomly from either one Folder or The Other...and/or....choose Prefs from One or The Other each time.
Just trying to get everything to jive under one singular System with no influence from the Other.
Will look at the drive icons on reboots to try and single out the most-current and hopefully can sort things out that way. As I say, I'm willing to simply move the whole "universe" from both Drives up to a single new OS 9 environment, if i can find a way to do it relatively easily.

Multiple System Administrators

Is it possible to create multiple system administrators within MDS?
Say we have three administrators who all manage MDS. When a new model is created, it seems like the only MDS administrator will need to add the other two as model administrators each time a new model is added.
Is there an easy way around this by scripting it out using the stored procedures like: [mdm].[udpUserGroupAssignmentSave]?

You are not doing anything wrong, presently to have Administrators other than the Appliance Admin you will need to create them locally. The LDAP import of users from eDir and AD does not allow for specific DIR Admins to then have Admin rights on the Appliance. LDAP users are imported for features such as Mobile App auth and for auto install of printers, for example...
This has been raised before but the appliance is designed in a way that Admin users should be created locally so they exist in their own container to avoid any potential issues.

Multiple App syncing issues...

Hello, all.
I am having multiple application synching issues. I have a half dozen devices and have never had any of these issues before about a week ago. May have had an iTunes update? Here are the issues.
1.     Some Apps re-installing even though no update was available.
2.     Some apps not completely installing and showing with an empty progress bar through the icon.
3.     Apps that are not supposed to sync to a particular device are.
4.     Apps re-installing outside of their designated folders.
Anyone having any of these issues? It is pretty frustrating since I never know what I am going to end up with after a sync.

Only select the apps that you want to sync.
It will only sync what you tell it to sync to each device.

PowerBook G4 Install Issue - Still waiting for root device

Hello Everyone and thank you for reading this post.
I have a last generation PowerBook G4 which I wanted to give to a family member since I've upgraded to a newer MacBook Pro.
I started by wiping the hard drive on the PB (in Target Disk Mode) using the Disk Utility application on the MBP using a FireWire 400 <-> FireWire 800 cable.
I verified and repaired the PB HD, no issues found... but that's when things started going bad. I'm unable to boot from the Tiger Install DVD when I restart the PB (holding down C). I get as far as selecting the language, at which point the mouse/trackpad work for a second before freezing up. I'm not able to select a language and that's as far as it goes.
I've also reset the ram and pram (ald+cmd+r+p) with no luck
My latest attempt has been to use the MBP's Disk Utility to partition the HD on the PB (over FireWire) and I also created a Image of the Tiger Install DVD on my MBP. I used the Disk Utility option "scan image for restore" and it checked out ok.
After successfully creating 2 partitions on the PB HD and using Disk Utility to Restore the Tiger Install DVD image to the smaller partition (10GB), I booted the PB holding the Alt key. As expected it found the Tiger Install DVD image on the HD, I clicked the arrow to continue.
At that point the grey screen with the apple logo appears and after a while it changes to a "forbidden" sign. Not getting much information from that I rebooted in Verbose mode (Cmd+V) to see what was going on. The attached image is what I see, unfortunately I don't know much about what it is telling me.
Lastly, I thought the RAM might have gone bad and so I removed one of the 2 ram sticks with no luck. I haven't tried the other RAM stick on it's own yet.
I know this community is full of smart people that might have some suggestion as to what is going on. Here is hoping someone has an idea to help me along.

Thanks for your suggestion and apologies for my late reply. You're right, I hadn't been paying attention to the partition scheme.
I repartitoned the hard drive (this time watching out for the partition scheme) and tried again, however I'm not out of the woods yet.
With both partitions properly formatted, I restored to the Tiger install DVD image on the smaller one and booted from it.
I booted in Cmd+V mode to see what was going on and it seemed to be doing ok, then the screen switched from the verbose output over to the language selection (beginning of the operating system install). However it will get stuck there within a few seconds. The mouse is initially responsive, but after 3-5 seconds the cursor (and keyboard inputs) freeze.
I've tried now a couple of times to click through as many menus as possible before the keyboard/mouse inputs freeze. Sometimes, I get as far as selecting the hardrive to install the operating system on before the clock runs out.
Any idea whould could be going on? Could this be a RAM issue?

Mac OSX: Flash CS3 Font Install Issues

I have a Mac Powerbook G4 with OS X installed and Adobe CS3.
I've installed a font. The font works in Photoshop and Illustrator
but not in Flash CS3. Why? I've put the font in the Library/Fonts
folder and the User/Fonts folder and it still doesn't show up in
Flash. Apparently this is a problem for a number of people see

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Unfortunately, it looks like something is wrong with the file system and the installer can't see the root drive to install to. A Google search returns numerous results affecting various products and the recurring theme is that something is wrong with the disk. There are many recommendations from various sources, but nothing definitive.

I would try the following options:
Try using the PKG installer. This is used Mac SysAdmins to install Flash Player within their organization and uses a slightly different installer path, which may or may not work.
Some people have had success with disk and permissions repair some have not. You can try running a disk and permissions repair. After the disk and permissions repair is complete, reboot the system and try to install again using either the online installer (get.adobe.com/flashplayer) or the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If these options do not work, I'd reach out to Apple support to see if they have a suggestion. If you do find a resolution to this, please let me know. I'll be happy to share it with people that encounter the problem in the future.

Re-Installing Issue

Hi,
I have a G5 I had to re install and erase my HD cause I had issues, now that i am rebuilding the system it won't let me install FCS, I get to the DVDP disc and it says Installation failed.... I tried it a few time and I get the same error. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Made sure the disks are clean? I'd call Apple on an install issue if it's new or if you suspect a damaged disk and you're the registered user.
Which OS are your running? QuickTime Version?

Script to Rerun Successful Advertisement on Multiple Systems

I need to rerun a particular advertisement for a package on multiple computers. I Am able to run it on a single system via the right click tools but how do it do it for multiple systems.

If you right click on the deployment in the monitoring node and select rerun deployment you will get something like the below from the right click tools by Now Micro
You can then select the group you want and hit Start.
Another option would be to set the deployment properties to Always run the program, but this would make all devices always rerun the deployment.
If you wanted to be able to select specific devices then you will probably need to script yourself something unless someone has already done it.
You could start by looking at Deployment - Rerun Deployment.ps1 that's installed by the right click tools.

System Install Problems

I am reinstalling my mac mini with the system install disks (10.4.5). The first disk works fine. I am then asked to insert disk 2 though my mini refuses to recognize the disk as the correct disk. One of my friends has an identical model - bought at the same time - I tried using his disks and encountered the same problem. I'm unable to do anything as the mini will not let me out of this screen.
Any suggestions of what to do?

Issue
OS Installation
Video Card - ASUS HD 7850 DirectCUII - Computer POSTs, begins to load Windows 7 setup, freezes on the Windows 7 installer background.
Video Card - GeForce 9300 GE - Computer POSTs, begins to load Windows 7 setup, freezes on the Windows 7 installer background.
Video Card - MSI N430 GT - Computer does not POST.
Video Card - Integrated - Computer boots and completes install of Windows 7 64-bit. Install all drivers, update BIOS to current version. Attempt to boot with video cards listed above with new BIOS, same issues. (First two hang on Windows logo, 3rd no POST.)
Attempted Resolutions
As stated, I have tried 3 different video cards, as well as 2 motherboards, both of them MSI H67A-G43(B3).
We have ordered 2 other new motherboards (one ASUS, one Gigabyte) because we need to get this built for the customer ASAP. However, we have previously used the H67A-G43 boards with no issues. We would like to be able to use these motherboards on future builds. What possible solutions are there for these issues?

RV220W System Time Issue in Combination with WiFi Active Time

Have system time issues with rv220w!
Setup:
Note that the real time is 17.32 (bottom right) but the system time is 16.20, result 1h offset (sad that the possibility to configure summertime start/end is missing)
Setting up the WiFi active time from 5.30PM until 6PM (testing only):
Note that the real time is 17.44, the WiFi is "Disabled". The RV220W system time is 16.44 with setting "CET +1h".
BUT:
Even when i change the RV220W system time to a Time/Date offset GMT +2h EET has this no issue to the WiFi time profile i set up. The WiFi stay down.
Note:
The WiFi Active Time Settings only working correct when the Clock Source is setting up with "Set Date and Time Manually" (in "Administration" "Time Settings"), but that is not the way.... i don't like to configure time settings manually (no system administrator will do that tinking)
Conclusion:
I think that the WiFi Time setting does not work fine, mean that the WiFi does not include the configured offset as usually system does....
Further:
RV220W firmware is up to date....
Hope Cisco will fix that and add the summer time feature (like in other systems and other manufacturer) in the next FW.....

I learned that this wasn't possible until the recent release by Apple of the software update "*About Time Machine and AirPort Updates v1.0*".
this has been possible for a long time, since about February 2008 when those updates came out.
The minimum system requirement for this software update is OS X 10.5.2. I should think this requirement is met because I have upgraded to 10.6.1. But when I try to install the software I get the message that the system requirement is at least 10.5.2. and as a result *I can't continue installing*. Apparently my OS update is not recognized by the software. Is there a solution for this problem? Many thanks.
you don't need to install those updates. they are for leopard, not snow leopard. you should be fine as is. do keep in mind that TM backups to air disks are not "officially" supported but they have worked for a long time. also, keep in midn that you'll need to start a new backup sequence once you move the drive to AEBS as remote backups are stored differently from directly attached ones.

Not able to fetch workitem from Multiple system ( version 4.6c ) in POWL Configuration

Hi Experts,
i am configuring SAP POWL in my EHP 6 System and i am able to get work-items from same system but i am not able to get from multiple system which version is 4.6c.below steps are already done.
1.Create RFC Destination ( destination working fine )
2.in SPRO,Cross-Application Components ->Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Inbox -> Assign Connected Back-End Systems to Inbox
Added Destination for Old system 4.6c
3.Create Exception Entry for that
4.Business function FND_IBO_MULTIBE_1 activated
5.Assigned below roles to respective users
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_INB_API_END_USR
SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_INB_API_SRV_USR
6.Added respective Task IDs in SPRO -> inbox- >Assign Task IDs to POWL Types
Please help if i any config are missing.

Combine fresh system install and Time Machine Backup

Hi all !
There´s a question that´s more generally Leopard and Snow Leopard related:
In trying to find causes of a system slowdown I decided to go for a complete fresh system install. BUT I also want to use my data saved in the time machine backup without spoiling the freshly created system folder.
I also want to update the system to the current OS version before restoring from BU.
Is there a way to keep the fresh system folder deriving from a fresh installation and just replace the rest of the data (that´s not present yet) with the time machine backup ?
I think the handy command "Restore System from Backup" from the OSX system installer wouldnt be a good idea. It would copy ALL the files from the backup, and would overwrite my fresh system folder, so that I´ll end up with the same old, probably faulty system.
Could the migration tool do the job ?

You should be able to migrate, for example, just your data using TM. But, TM is a bit unpredictable. Why not make a bootable clone of your internal on an external. It would serve fail-safe purposes, migrations purposes, and data-backup purposes. At the end of your install, you could, as groups only, migrate your data, users, settings, and apps--using your discretion. I would migrate only my data and my settings.

Absolutely correct.
Could the migration tool do the job ?
You can use Migration Assistant with TM, but I have never done so. So, I can't advise. The clone I mentioned takes care of all you issues in a very straight forward manner without dealing with the confusion of TM and MA that can arise.
