Music volumes changes automatic

While I am listening to my iphone either through headphones or through the 31 pin connector, the volume randomly will get quite and then will turn back up automatically. It will last about 2-3 seconds then will go for 10ish min and do it again then 15ish min and do it again and again and again... It seems to be random.

Sometimes, once you've figured it out, the answer to something is blindingly obvious.
All I need to do (once I've re-established my music folder on the external drive) is Advanced > Consolidate Library and those files in my internal drive will be moved to my music folder on my external drive retaining all the meta data.
I don't know why I didn't think of that before.
Thanks for your help though.

  • Volume changes automatically?

    Hey!
I've seen some similar posts but there is nothing that matches my problem.
So I got my Iphone 4s (with iOS 5.0.1) 16-11-2011 and the problem is the volume changes by it self.
Without touching the buttons the volume goes down to 0,
and this often happens when opening the phone from standby mode.
    Is there a solution?
Do you think it's a software or hardware problem?
Any feedback is appreciated, and if there is no solution the only thing left to do is to contact apple support.
    Thanks in advance.

    Any news?
I Had the exact same problem and got the phone exchaned, but the new phone have the same problem.
I noticed that this problem can be reproduced by stroking the left top side (edge) of the phone, near the volume controls. This problem affect both ring and "music" volume..

  • Volume changes automatically in iChat

This is a new one for me...
I set the volume in the Sound preference pane to maximum over the internal mic when using iChat..
When I am talking to other people, I see the input volume automatically change when I talk.
It will go down to 90% and then when I talk again it will go down some more, and then more, and then down to 50% and seems to stay there.
However, at 50%, the other people can hardly hear me even though they have there output volume set up all the way...
When I quit iChat, the volume goes back up to where it was before opening up iChat so it appears that something in iChat is definitely doing this automatially.
I haven't seen this behavior before.
I trashed the 2 audio preferences in Library/Preferences/Audio and restarted but that didn't help.
Any suggestions on what preferences might be automatically changing the input sound level?

    Hi Joseph,
In previous versions of the OS on Laptops the Left hand speaker - where the Internal Mic is - has been cut in certain Apps such as iChat to stop Feedback.
This action sounds like it is related - albeit via a dynamic method.
What I have failed to find yet is which of the .plists that used to control the Audio in the same way it was done in at least Tiger and Leopard.
com.apple.systempreferences.plist gets altered if you change the Tab in System Preferences > Sound pane but also if the Volume only is changed (I used the Cover Flow view and highlighted the Modified column)
It takes a few moments fro the .plist to show a change.
I also looked at the .plist with Property List Editor (Part of the Developers Tools Install - Optional Installs on the Install Disk) where I can not see a specific Volume reference.
I did the same with the Hard Drive/Library/Preferences Folder but nothing showed a new modified time.
That would suggest that to potentially get the volume to reset that com.apple.systempreferences.plist would have to be deleted.
It would be best to restart the computer then.
All the Preferences in System Preferences would then have to be reset - Date a Time, Language and Text, Screen Saver, Mouse, Keyboard, Sharing + Network Settings and anything else you had changed.
This may be too destructive to try.

  • Volume changes by itself in the middle of a song!

    Hey all
So, I've been having this problem with both my iPhone 5S and 4.
When I listen to a song and I'm NOT using the headset from Apple, the music volume changes itself constantly
If I look at the volumebar, I can see it changes too. I don't have the soundcheck-option enabled and Siri neither as I read elsewhere that they can cause this problem.
I think it might have something to do with the fact that my headphones aren't Apple, so I figure it might be a softwareproblem. But how do I solve it?
I don't have the problem if I'm using other apps that play sound (Youtube, Facebook etc).

If you've tried Apple headphones and they work fine, then I suggest you talk to the company that made your headphones.

  • Lumia 620 music volume not changing..

I've lumia 620,sometimes the music volume is set on constant level but it is only for audio songs(downloaded from Nokia music or pc ). But if i play music from nokia music/or play videos,games,metrotube... The volume does changes except for music from music+videos. Restarting phone stops the issue for time being but it can not be a solution because it happens every day.(i have tried reseting the phone from settings->about) it doesn't solve the issue.

Go to nokia care when you are facing the problem DO NOT RESTART THE PHONE..(otherwise the issue will be solved for time being)... they will do so called software update..(its like formatting the phone only rarely a firmware update)  and the issue will be solved for some time but that is not a long term solution..(the issue comes again after some time).... i did it twice now gonna do it 3rd time if the issue pick again i am gonna pull them to consumer court...

  • Volume changer on ipod touch music app disappeared

the volume changer on my music app just disappeared, and now I don't know where the heck it went

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • When i adjust music volume, wadsapp volume changes too.

I just changed my phone to iPhone 5s from iPhone 4s. I've been listening to music and obviously i wont be listening to music with 100% volume, then i realized when people wadsapp me, the tone was very soft. I played around a little and realized that the volume from Music affected my wadsapp's tone volume too!
When i was using my iPhone 4s changing my music volume doesnt seem to affect my wadsapp tone tho. I've also disabled change with button, so SMS volume wasn't affected, only wadsapp.
Anyone knows if there's any way i can solve this? Else i'd have to keep adjusting the volume after listening to music -_-

Glad it helped.  (I also do not like iTunes to mess with the filenames.)

  • Why is the volume changer button up so high on the new apple headphones?

On the newest Apple Headphones, I was wondering why the headphones volume changer button so high. It is difficult to try to change the volume when listening to music because i cant see the volume changer button.

I assume that you did not check before buying, if you had you would have seen that your Mac is too old for Airplay Mirroring to work:
    Supported Macs
AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion takes advantage of the hardware video encoding capabilities of 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core processors. Hardware video encoding allows AirPlay Mirroring to efficiently deliver high frame rates while maintaining optimal system performance. The following Mac models have processors that support AirPlay Mirroring:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)
And if you bought ML solely for that function you should remove it from your machine and get a refund.

  • Volume changes when ipod is tilted

This morning while I was headed out for my morning commute, I started my music and walked out the door. As I walked the volume changed - so, thinking it was being changed in my pocket I took it out and tilted it toward me. The volume went down without me touching it. I tilted it away from me and it went back up. I tilted it back and it went down again. Locking the ipod seemed to stop it - but I'm wondering if this thing is on it's last legs and to expect to buy another soon? Or if it's a fixable thing that others have encountered. I've had this ipod for ~6 years and I would hate to lose it now.

Turn off sound enhancer and sound check features in iTunes.
and set iTunes volume to maximum - this iTunes slider is like the master slider in Logic, only 0 in iTunes is the maximum value:
I found it helps to always adjust your actual listening level with hardware controls (interface, amp, etc) and keep all audio apps at unity gain - only mix in Logics' mixer. It keeps things that are already complicated just a bit easier.

  • Complete music was deleted automatically

My complete music was deleted automatically. I inserted everything in iTunes again. Next day it was gone again. I couldn't find anything at the support.

    Hello va_nessss ,
Just a little additional information to supplement the advice you have received above.
You may already be using the iPod in manual update mode in which case you can ignore the rest of this post. In manual mode, your iPod is safe from being accidentally erased. However, if your iPod is set for automatic update, when you connect you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, click *No*. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list. Change the update setting in Preferences>iPod to "manually manage songs and playlists" Managing Your Songs Manually
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.
Just to reiterate the iTunes Warning.
If at any stage iTunes brings up a dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in iTunes, press "No". Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod.

  • ITunes volume changes itself / Can't Force Quit.

My iTunes volume changed itself to a third of the way up, and now I can't change it. If I move the volume slider it just automatically goes back to where it was. I also can't force quit iTunes! It even won't let me shut down because of it. Any ideas?

Open Activity Monitor in Application/Utilities. You can monitor your applications there to see how much CPU or real memory they are using. Selecting the CPU column will sort the highest on top for easy viewing. You can also force quit an application in Activity Monitor.
Another option to Force quit is to use the commands. Command-Option-Esc. This brings up a Force Quit window.
Since the symptoms affect many applications, I would first download and install the latest Apple combo updater. They install over the same version and will go back and refresh all files unlike an incremental updater that only adds new files. If the combo doesn't work, you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

  • Volume increases automatically. Help please.

This problem occurs when I'm using my headphones to listen to music. The volume will automatically increase and it will also randomly stop the music. I just wanted to make sure this isn't a headphone related issue before replacing the headphones. Any help is appreciated.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?  A new iMac will have Yosemite. Confirm.
what system version are you running? Download iPhoto 6 from the App store.  Did you?
what do you mean by "picture keeper"?
have you looked in the Applications folder for an iPhoto application?
is your iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder ?

  • Volume Lowering Automatically

On some, but not all tracks, the music will start at a certain volume, then automatically drop quite a bit.  To listen at the volume I'd like, I have to raise the volume, but then the first few seconds before it automatically drops are really loud.  It happens with the built in speaker, over headphones, and over bluetooth, so it is not specific to how I play the tracks.  This is not new to the latest update; I've been having the issue for a while.  It does not affect the same tracks played on the desktop player, so I know it is not the content of the song.  Is anyone else having the same issue?  Has anyone found a solution?

Have the same issue, happens after some time i didnt use the client.
Typically only on the the first song i play.. after a short time the volume lowers and then after ~10 sec, it increases again to normal.
It happens on all of my playlists. Somewhat like it has to cache something, and then it's ok.
I have also see this in Offline mode on a mobile phone.
    This is anoying as hell.
