Mute Sound To Other Pages

I am failry new to actionscript. I have a movie flv playing
on the home page with a mute button. The interior pages also have
this movie, but the site is in coldfusion, so flash loads on each
page. My customer wants the sound to mute through all pages if they
click mute on the home page.
Can anyone give me suggestions on the best way to do this and
a code sample if possible?
I was thinking either passing a url variable or setting a
session variable, but I am unsure of how to do this in
actionscript.

The best way to conserve client application states across
different SWFs in the same client, or reloads of the same SWF in
the same client, is to use a localSharedObject as a "Flash cookie"
to store application state information on the client. Configure
your SWF application to wait until it has checked the
localSharedObject for information, and then configure your mute
on/off accordingly.
You undertsand, of course, that every time you load a new cfm
page, the SWf will reload, as will your sound, even if it's cached
in the browser. If all you're doing is conserving application
state, that works, but if you want a sound to continue playing from
the previous spot when it reloads... well that's dicey, if not
downright impossible.
My recommendation if you want continuous sound playback, is
not to use different SWFs.

How to "Add" a combo key of 3 fields from a page into other pages ?

Hello. My PeopleSoft component has 5 pages. Its layout looks like below:
AddJournal Header Lines Total Error
"AddJournal" is the first page that has 3 fields: OperatingUnit, ID, Date. The 3 fields is also a combo key that appears in the next 4 pages "Header", "Lines", "Total" and "Error" to maintain data consistency and identify the transaction.
I am working on a push button "Add" in the "AddJournal" page. The button should do 2 things:
First, when click on button "Add", it inserts the values of 3 fields into its underlying "AddJournal" table in Database.
Second, after click on the button, the value of 3 fields also appear on the next 4 pages "Header", "Lines", "Total" and "Error". All the other 4 pages' underlying Database tables contain the 3 fields.
I understand how to achieve the first function by using push button properties "Scroll Action" and "Row Insert". But don't understand how to achieve the second function.
Does any folk understand how to do the second function ?
Do I need to redesign the Database tables for the next 4 pages to achieve the second function ?

There is a lot here, and I think we will need more information to help.
FieldChange Event:
The FieldChange event occurs when you change that particular field. So, assuming the PeopleCode works correctly, it will copy the values of those three fields at the time just after you change the OperatingUnit. So, take this example:
-all three fields are blank
-You change the OperatingUnit to "OU"
-You change the ID to "XX"
-You change the Date to "04/23/2010"
The values that would be copied to the other pages would be "OU", blank, and blank because that is what they were just after changing OperatingUnit to "OU"
Does that make sense?
Page Design:
Normally, the keys are automatically populated for you. Header and Line sound like a parent-child relationship. So, if your page is designed correctly, the keys should be carried over automatically for you. If the tables are all sibling tables you will need the PeopleCode. I don't know if you want to explore the page design issue at all, but that might solve your problem without the PeopleCode.
In any case, it would help if you would post the page structure. First of all, what occurs level are the three tables at? You can tell on the Order tab of the page -- I believe it is the far left column.

Can you post your PeopleCode, and maybe we can spot something in the PeopleCode that is not right? If you are unsure if and when your PeopleCode is running, you can place a winmessage function in there. Put something like this:
WinMessage("Hello!");
You should see the hello message after you change the Operating Unit field. With deferred processing, you may not see it until you hit Save or Refresh.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

When I sign into or out of Gmail - many other pages automatically refresh. How do I stop this?

I hate automated things, when it's NON consensual and it's part of some automated bullshit trip.
I might have half finished texts on the other open tabs, or what ever, but it's MY bandwidth to chew up on things I see fit, not the people of Mozilla, or Google or whoever.
And while the account page is gmail, that I am signing into or out of, the other pages are NOT google pages either.
I think the designers of the "refresh / automatic refresh" should be shot - because the reason I have a PAGE (tab) open, is because I want to access THAT page, and not a later version of it...
This auto-reload / refresh of some tabs absolutely annoys the piss out of me, because I did not ask for it, and there is NO apparently easy up front way to stop it from happening - which I also think is one of the best way to alienate users of a product - by building in a host of idiot functions with NO control over them.
So how do i stop this from happening?

I think what happens is that you sign in at Gmail, which is a Google+ sign-in these days, and all the other web pages that participate in the Google+ program somehow "sense" that you have just logged into Google+ and reload their page to reflect that you are nowlogged into the Google+ program. Trumpet mute sounds

I have Jam Pack 4 but find no choices for mutes for the brass section. How would I go about getting the sounds for strsight, cup, and harmon mutes?

I don't use too many midi instruments, but I have found that the velocity on horns produce variation of the notes. Try fiddling with the velocity. I know on the trumpet that comes with GarageBand, not from a Jam Pack, the high velocity produces a stab then the note slides down. As you lower the velocity, the slide down goes away and the note becomes more staccato. IF there's a mute sound in there, my "guess" would be it is in a lower velocity setting. I may be wrong, but that's where I'd start to look for it.

Are the videos that still have sound those in the Videos app, or a different app ? If Videos app then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. I lost my sound when I tried loading the manufacturers driver. So I went to the Arch wiki page and followed the steps to set up but this is what I get (Making sure the sound modules are loaded--section).

It looks like the install script wiped out all the previous modules.
I then followed the wiki link to the "Alsa Sound Card Matrix" and selectd hda-intel and ran the command below which based on this sight indicates the module is loaded.

No, there is no existing way in your phone to disable sound of screen capture. Even turning on silent mode, does not make sound off.

Is there a way to mute sound for one particular app? In windows, you can do this from the volume control. It list each app and you can control volume there. I don't see a way to do this in Windows.
Particularly in gotomeeting, there isn't any mute available. Safari is the same way.

Sorry, I was confused by your profile signature showing "GarageBand (Mac) '11".
It is very similar in the newest GarageBand 10.0.2:
Enable Audio Units in the GarageBand Preferences > Audio/Midi.
Create a software instrument track.
Show the Smart Controls and click the button.
In the Info panel scroll, to make the Audio Units brick visible and click the "Instrument" control. Select "AuInstrument > Apple > DLSMusicDevice" and click it, to open the settings.
This should show you a panel, where you can select a Sound Bank. Does that show your sound font?

HP laserjet 400 M401 dne will not work with Word 2010 paper source other pages

HP laserjet 400 M401 dne connected via USB to Dell 980 with Windows 8.1 (64 bit) using HP laserjet 400M401 PCL 6 class driver. In Word 2010 Go to print settings and paper tab. The printer has two trays set first page option to one tray and "other pages" to the other tray and it will always print all pages to the first page option. All paper tray settings on the printer to automatic and letter and plain. If set the printer setting to tray 2 and the word setting for other pages to tray 1 that does not help either. Unable to find a setting scenario where the other pages will print to another tray.

This sounds more like a Graphic Driver or Graphics Card problem. You might try switching out the Graphic Card if that is possible on the system.
Another outside possibility might be a corrupt user profile, so you could create a different profile on the machine and try it. However, my guess would be the Graphics Card is failing.
Are you also certain there are no other Office add-ins loaded that might be causing this. Start Word in Safe Mode and see if this clears the problem. If it does, then systematically disable add-ins one at a time until the culprit is found.
