MuVo TX USB

Hi, i have a MuVO TX USB 2.0, this morning i formated using FAT32 quick format, now when i try to turn the player on I get the error "File System Error" have i screwed up my player somehow ?
ThanksNeil

You need to use the MuVo recovery procedure: Download the latest driver (if required) and firmware from http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers. Install the driver file (if required). After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.

  • Muvo^2 usb charging er

I can't charge my muvo 4gb via usb. I eject the dri've and it charges for a few minutes then the screen on the the muvo suddenly blackens and henceforth the player starts randomly restarting and does not charge. I have tried different computers and usb cables. I have tried the latest firmware update, but in vain.
My player is under warranty but I'm on holiday and will only get back in a few months, by which time the warranty period would have expired. I emailed customer support but they don't seem to have a clue. Can someone help me?
    Thanks,
    Richard

I tried your suggestion but it didnt work. Thanks anyways! But the good thing is.. customer support have finally agreed for a replacement after weeks of trying to solve it.

  • MuVo^2 usb connection trou

I have a MuVo2, 4gb mp3 player and I have been using it for ages, and I'm loving it.
Problem is, always when I connect the cable to my mp3-player and computer, I get the message that the hardware is ready for use and I can just drag songs to the folder in the mp3 player. About a week ago, this stopped working, while I changed nothing.
Now if I connect the mp3-player to the computer, I get no message, I can't access it from anywhere, the players just boots and starts playing tracks, while it's supposed to say "USB acti've"
I've tried connecting to other computers. Same problem. Other USB devices do work.
What is this problem? If someone knows, then how can I fix it's

Well I have tried other cables and other devices with al lcables and everything works fine except the MuVo^2 device - still the same problem.
It's been bugging me for quite some time now. Who do I contact to see if they have the solution?

  • Muvo Slim USB Cable

So I got my new Muvo Slim today, I install all the drivers then plug it in, it finds it. But then after about 30 seconds or so windows gives me an error saying the device encountered an error and connot be regconized anymore. So I try try a few different times and it does the same thing every time. Finally, just by chance I decided to try a new USB 2.0 cable, I have the exact same kind for my external HD only difference is my External has to PC end connections for power, I just didn't pluf the secondary power one in for the Slim player. Anyways, since I did everything seems to be working fine, it found it, installed it, and it hasn't messed up yet, the battery even charged. But here is my question:
The USB2.0 cable that came with my Slim, the screwed up non-working cable, says 28AWG/2C+28AWG/2C on it. But the one for my External HD, which I am using on the Slim at the moment says 28AWG/PR and 24AWG/2C on it. Now is there anything to do with voltage on these cables that using the one for my External HD might mess up or fry my Muvo Slim? Or is the fact that they are both just USB2.0 cables fine and nothing will happen?

All USB should be 5V, and cables are normally interchangeable and standard, so I'm sure it will be fine. Strange though that the cable was faulty.

  • Muvo (512/usb 2.00) - how to change a fold

    hi all,
I spent some time looking into this forum, but I could not find an answer on following:
I have a new MuVo player - basic one, without display and so on. I uploaded two folders but I can not find a way how to change quickly to another folder. The only way is to skip all tracks in the folder and then it will start to play another folder.
It looks odd to me as 52 MB is capable to hold lot of folders and skipping all songs between first and last folder is somehow.. unfriendly.
Player was shipped with the latest firmware - .2.03 which is nice, but useless in this situation:
    Added Features or Enhancements
    * Supports up to three subfolder levels in the root directory.
    * Supports up to 500 playable tracks and 60 folders containing playable tracks.
Could you please advise on this? Many thanks..
    kny2tl

I've got the same problem! Anyone know a way around this? If this isn't possible, it would be nice to see a firmware upgrade that allowed you to hold the "play" button down, and press the forward/backward button at the same time. My unit is the Muvo Mix 52.
    Thanks.

  • MuVo V200 - USB 2.0 (Why speed of transfer = USB 1.0)

For example the file 5,8MB is loaded from a computer into a player for 0 seconds...Message Edited by NeXT on 2-28-2005 0:59 PM

Can you be more specific? Are you having a problem with the player? Does your motherboard have USB2.0 ports? Is the transfer slow? If it is, make sure you have all the relevant updates for the system, that can include chipset or USB updates for the motherboard, and possibly a service pack for your Operating System.

  • MuVo N200 USB Ca

Just got my N200 - and I love it! Great design, features and quality.
One issue - I want to get either a very short (3 or 4 inch) or a retractable USB cable. I know (I think!) that I need a USB-A male to USB-Mini-b male, but I got asked at the store whether I wanted 4 or 5 pin Mini-b......
Can someone help out with an *exact* specification for a short cable; and maybe a good source?
    AGB

Thanks - I thought there was only one basic type too, but I didn't have the cable with me to double check! Peering at the cable and the player closely, it's clear that the USB A end has 4 pins, the MiniB end 5 pins, and the N200 Mini B socket 5 pins too.
So I'll get a retractable, about the same size as the player itself.
    Great little product.

  • Dead Muvo USB 2.0- Help Ple

    Hello All,
I have searched the forum and have not found a post with a similiar problem.
    MUVO 28 mb USB 2.0
    Latest Drivers
    Latest Firmware
The player will not turn on.
Multiple computers do not recognize player.
I have reinstalled drivers and firmware in the order specified and tried to reformat the player with no luck.
While attempting to reformat I receive the error:
    "Unable to Send SCSI Command.
SCSI Sense Code: device reported media error, allocation to large."
Running the firmware upgrade does turn on the Muvo's red light.
I have another MUVO TX USB 2.0 that both computers recognize.
    Help please.
    Thank You.

    Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, I have connected this device in recovery mode. The firmware recognizes the device in recovery mode, then searches for devices connected to the computer, that is when I recieve the error described above.

  • MuVo N200 - A whole host of probl

Not wanting to sound cocky, but I think I can answer my own problem here before you all join in, but hey, who knows, I might be wrong. I think my N200 needs returning to Creative for some serious surgery. Here's "the list":
+ When transferring files with WMP0, a random number of files on the list to be copied will complete successfully. Then, an error message such as "The Server threw an exception" appears. According to Microsoft's Web "Help", this is because an MPEG2 video file is trying to convert and won't. Somehow, I don't think this is the case.
+ If I choose not to convert the files before transfer, it's blind faith as to whether they will all copy or not. In a sync list of 80 items, the transfer will fail seven or eight times on average. No error from media player this time, it's a windows balloon tip saying "delayed write failed". I have to remove and re-connc the muvo to continue the transfer.
+ Using MediaSource, the same error as above occurs after transferring EVERY track.
+ If, by some miracle, I manage to get the songs I want onto the muvo before dying of old age, it's the a 50/50 chance that when I unplug the muvo and switch it on, it will say "file system error", switch itself off and when re-connected will be as blank as the day it left the factory.
+ Alternati'vely, it will be fine until a random amount of time later when it will switch itself off, and then when switched back on it will give the file system error.
+ If, miraculously, it has got through the day without wiping itself, when plugged back in media player will not always be able to remove old songs from the player, and will therefore declare it to be full after copying just track onto it.
Now, before you all jump up, let me just explain the following:
I have ALL the latest drivers, firmware, updates and widgets for Windows, Media Player, MediaSource, the MuVo, my USB ports, my motherboard, and every other piece of hardware just in case it's a conflict. There is nothing else I can download.
I've tried re-installing the firmware (in fact I'm having to do this on an almost daily basis).
I've tried it on a friend's computer: no change, same problems.
I've tried using a fresh install of windows with all the extra hardware stripped out of the pc, and i've tried the same system wit al the updates. Same problems.
I haven't EVER dropped the muvo, I don't li've next to a nuclear power station or on Jupiter.
I've tried using different kinds of batteries.
I've connected it in recovery mode, wiped it and started again. Repeatedly. Several times.
So, as I said at the top, I think I have a faulty muvo, b ut if anyone out there is thinking, "What a fool, he hasn't pressed the 'don't break' button!" then please, for the sake of my sahnity and rapidly receding hairline, HELP ME!
    Dave
p.s. My 0 year old sound blaster 6 works flawalessly and always has. My 5 year old sound blaster li've 5. works flawlessly and nearly always has. My zen touch works flawlessly, but is a replacement for a faulty zen xtra. Which worked well, but was a replacement for a faulty jukebox zen. Which work ok, but was a replacement for a faulty jukebox 3 (which had an awesome remote control). Anyone see a pattern here?

    davehelps:
The "delayed write failed" message suggests to me that you have write caching enabled for the N200 within Windows. This might be causing problems. I have this disabled - a side effect of this is that I don't have to use the Safely Remove Hardware icon before disconnecting the player (as long as I'm sure it is not being written to at the time).
    To disable write caching:
Open My Computer and right click on the dri've letter for your player, choosing Properties.</LI>
On the Hardware tab click on the N200 and choose Properties again.</LI>
On the Properties page choose the Policies tab and select Optimize for quick removal.</LI>

  • Songs no longer playing in order on muvo v

bit of an odd problem--recently my 2 gb muvo v00 stopped playing songs in alphabetical order for some directories. Some directories with numbered tracks are somewhat random--the latest album i put on went: 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 0, 0, 02, 03, 06, , 2, 3. this isn't filesize order or tagged name order, the player's not on shuffle, and they're always in this order. Other directories play in normal order.
In another directory with about 00 songs--it goes in semi-random order, and repeats some songs before it has played them all (only sometimes--perhaps the first time it goes through a new group of songs(?).)
this started around the same time someone (not me!) got the brontok.c virus onto the muvo's usb memory. at least one album that played in order before stopped playing in order after the virus. i got rid of it with antivirus software, and subsequently reinstalled the firmware / reformatted (to .02.03, the same that was on it when i got it), and also held down the scroll button and turned it on into recovery mode and did a cleanup that way, but both times the problem remains. the player otherwise works fine but it's annoying not to hear albums in order. any ideas?
    Andrew

This is very interesting and I think it's related to my problem. I wonder if it has anything to do w/DRM [Digital Rights Management]?:
+This is something that recently started happening. I record a radio show with Audio Hijack pro. I import it to iTunes and it plays fine. I then find a small selection that I'd like to edit and keep. I open Fission and do my editing and save it. It saves under the name I assign it. I try to import the new file to iTunes and it doesn't load in to iTunes because the tag is still the same as the original file. I found this out when I used Finder to "Get Info." I changed the tagged name of the original file that is still residing in iTunes and then tried importing the new file to iTunes again. No go. I then double clicked the file in Finder to get it to play in iTunes. It played, but strangely enough, it didn't appear in the Music Library, but it did appear in the "Recently Added" section of the iTunes window. I used that appearance to change the Tags completely. I checked the "Music Library" after that, but the selection still did not appear. I tried dragging it from "Recently Added" to the Library, but it didn't work. I also tried dragging it to my iPod, but that didn't appear to work either.+
+I then tried a work-around and created a playlist with that selection and another selection and dragged that playlist over to the 'pod. The selection appeared on the 'pod, but only within the playlist, not the 'pods music library. I could play the new selection only via the playlist. It is still invisible to iTunes.+

  • Muvo TX/File Error Sys

    Hey people,
I have a problem with my Muvo TX USB 2.0 :
when i try to switch on my mp3, "File Error System" appears on the screen and the player switches off on its own.
When I plug it in my laptop, i'm unable to access the hard dri've but I can see the player's supposed not to have any free space (O octets) !! But I have no file into it...
    I can't do a single thing with it !
    Please help !
I'd really like to solve this problem !

    Trifina wrote:
I tried that already and got an error message telling to put the device in recovery mode (which i can't while I can't access the harddri've...)
Thank you anyway for your help...
You get into Recovery Mode by connecting the player to your PC while pressing and holding the Play button - it's not like the Hard Dri've players where you start the player in a certain way to access Rescue Mode on the player. The TX doesn't have a hard dri've only flash memory.
You need to install the drivers onto your PC first as they contain the Recovery Mode drivers.

  • PC Not Recognizing the iPod's USB device

I installed a new copy of Windows recently, and now when I connect my iPod to any USB port (doesn't seem to matter which) my PC will often not recognize it. It takes me to take the iPod out and put it back in for it to know that it's there. I believe this is why my iPod refuses to update its song list properly. It will put 15 songs on it and then stop. If I disconnect and reconnect it, it will just put the same songs on it and stop again. I recently took my iPod in to an Apple store to have it looked at because I couldn't even restore it because it seemed like it was corrupted. Now I believe it really never was. It's like I need to have a driver for the USB port device and the software disk that came with the iPod doesn't contain one. But I honestly don't know. What do I do?

Sorry. I gave you misinformation. My PC runs windows 98 SE. I downloaded the drivers and the firmware
from the Creative web site. Installed the drivers. I inserted the built -in USB Connector of MUVO TX USB flash dri've while pressing the player button. I executed the firmware and the animated flash light turned on but after 2 minutes, the response was no removable dri've is detected. I will make several more attempts before I give up.

  • Dead muvo

I have a 52 Muvo tx that just quit playing and displayed "no music". I also have a 256 Muvo tx fm that I use as well. It has no problems so that should eliminate my computer, files, etc. as the problem. Once the 52 was plugged in and I had a look I saw that my music was still there and it would play through the computer. I deleted all the music and reformated. Although it was reformatted it would not load. No matter how many times I reformatted and the format seemed to take, but later I would check and it was not formatted. I am formatting in FAT. I went into the troubleshooting. The player will not reset and it will not go into recovery. I can't try reloading the firmware as it has to be in recovery to do so. I have only had it for a couple of months now but it was a refurb. I imagine I am just out of luck but this forum seems to be very knowledgeable so I am giving it a try. Thanks for any help.
