Choose system preferences, then under 'Personal' choose 'Universal Access''
You will see a checkbox called 'Voice Over'' (under the seeing tab). Switch this to off.

Hi. I am one of the very unhappy people who can't use the iPad for recording since getting ios7. The apple forum is replete with stories like mine: ios6 recording was quiet - ios7 is noisy. I have tried every suggestion. Why won't anybody at apple tell us what the problem is? I have been using macs since 1986. All I want to do is record my songs on my iPad. Unfortunately for me, I recently brought my iPad-mini refurbished so there is no warranty. If I had bought it new I would be at the Genius Bar until I got the problem fixed. Did I mention how unhappy I am? Here are the specs: 1st gen iPad mini running ios7. Recording onto Multitrack DAW with a Samson Go mic to a 30-pin USB camera adapter, into an apple brand lightening adapter into iPad mini. Everything works fine except for the HISS.

Purchased a early 2008 Mac Pro in 2010. Yesterday I updated my mac to System 10.9 and now I have a dialogue box in system preferences saying I need to update the NVIDIA CUDA drivers but the servers are unavailable. I download a driver from the site but the Mac would not open it. This system has an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB graphics card. What do I need to do. Do I need a new Card?

I've had very little trouble in two years. And now I do like Windows 7 but also eager for the RC.
I've been using the latest Nvidia. There is a method to the madness of how to uninstall/delete and install graphics drivers, or madness in the method. The W7 drivers are easier.
Nope. Something else. More sensitive to disk errors. You aren't running a program to boost fans. Something.
And some AV software is more prone to causing trouble. But all you need is a good AV/malware program, and even Norton AV 2009 is acceptable, or Avast or one of the others.

Please help to get rid of this strange rectangle appearing on interface!
Hi, my iMac is a brand new which I have purchased Feb 18th, 2009.
The problem is that there is a strange rectangle (black outlined, empty filled) keeps appearing on interface. It appears right now around the red circle button that closes this window. On desktop, it appears around the item I select. When I try to print out a file on Adobe Illustrator, it shows up on the dialogue panel. It just won't go away.
If anyone could help me getting rid of this annoying rectangle, my life will be saved!It sounds like you may have VoiceOver turned ON. If you have your volume un-muted, you may also hear the computer talking to you.
It is controlled from System Preferences +Universal Access+ pane Seeing tab. Where it says VoiceOver, turn it OFF if it got turned ON inadvertently (probably by fitting Command-F5). -
iPhone 5 got wet. Dried it out, booted up fine but now there is a coding message that appears on the boot up screeen

HerbetteI'm not exactly sure what you are seeing and what is happening, but try closing the App Store app, and then reset the iPad. See if that takes you out of that screen and allows you to navigate freely again.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the App Store app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I had looked at the cookies a couple of weeks ago. I deleted all cookies.
A few days ago my email was hacked into which sent a spam email to all my contacts. I changed my password to that account, warned everyone in my contacts, and haven't had a problem with email since.
However, I tried to do the 'delete all cookies' again and when I go to safari/preferences/privacy...there is nothing on that screen under that tab. Not even a question mark. I changed my history items to be removed every day from every week but don't think that would be the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Uninstall SIMBL as follows.
Select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar, then enter the following text in the box that opens:

A folder will open. From that folder, delete the items listed below (some may be absent.) You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

Log out and log back in.

The only real exception to that rule is Safari extensions, which are mostly safe, and are easy to get rid of when they don’t work. SIMBL and its dependents are not Safari extensions. -
Okay so I dropped my iPhone 3G today and ever since it has been stuck on this white screen that has stripes on it. I have tried holding the home button with the up volume and the power button for a while and that didn't work. I also tried just the home button and the power button. I also tried taking it apart to see if something was loose but nothing was. PLEASE HELP I don't want to get rid of my iphone!

If you don't have Applecare you can usually get a refurbished unit from an Apple Retail Store cut price - though they may not have any 3 models in stock and you may be 'forced' to upgrade to a 3GS. -
i was using the previous version of firefox and it worked fine,
the new version firefox 5 came up to down load so i did this and now when i press the firefox icon all that comes on screen is a blank firefox window....purple surround with blank window..
i have vista basic...Your profile might have been corrupted during the upgrade. I suggest trying a new profile. Close Firefox, then on the Windows start menu, type or paste this into the Run or search box:

Create a new profile, which will be more or less plain vanilla. Assuming that works normally, you can move key settings like bookmarks from your problem profile to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
If that doesn't work, here's the process to roll back.
Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: When you first start up, you might be in the new blank profile. In that case, close Firefox and use the profile manager to switch back to your default profile. -

My mac keeps redirecting me to pages like MacKeeper and stuff on safari.
Its also popping up with a ton of ads like you just one and i phone 5 and crap.

redirects me to a new page please help!!!!:/ If u give me any websites to use
please make sure there securer or u have used them before so i don't get anymore viruses!
