Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. The iPad will support multiple Gmail accounts, but of course you have to set each one up individually. Did you set up both accounts? Go into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars to confirm both accounts exist. If they do, also familiarize yourself on how to navigate between accounts to make sure you can view your Inbox. You may also want to check your settings to make sure that you have the default account set up as you expect for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes (if you're using all those features). That is important only when initiating something new, you have to have a default account to do such a thing so make sure the default is your account since it is your iPad (assuming that's what you want).
Alternatively, install the free Gmail app and then use only his (or your) account with that app and use the standard iOS Mail app for the other account.

When you buy an upgrade disk, all updates in that OS can be found on Software Update.
For instance, I bought Snow Leopard at 10.6.
All other updates have been free and downloadable. So I'm not a 10.6.7.
10.4 (Tiger) went to 10.4.11.
10.5 (Leopard) went to 1.5.8
10.6(Snow Leopard) is currently at 10.6.7.
Now, when Lion come out (the next major upgrade of OSX), I will have to pay to go to 10.7.
After that, updates are free til 10.8 comes out.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

Here is the screen shot, just the top half, there are another 10 pages, but I guess this should enough for you to have an idea of waht is going on, bit small I am afraid. No, I don't have any apps setup to run when I open my computer, the kernel, varies between 290 and 305 per cent ish.
Would that PRAM thing help ? I think it may be the computer itself, well something inside, as this the first time that the fan has ever started running since I have this computer, even when I have 3 or 4 apps running.

Look the dock connector on your iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corred contacts, foreign material and cracked/broken plastic.
Try:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears..
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.
