MY FIREWIARE DEVICE LOCKS UP FCE HD

I just loaded FCE HD. I previously had FCE 2 and 3. I usually have no trouble with the firewire hookup for PRINT TO VIDEO or CAPTURE. But I now have a JVC GR D350U, and if I turn it on while attached to a firewire input, it completely freezes my MAC G4 and FCE. is there a software fix, or do I face the unpleasant proposition of spending even more $$$$$ on yet another camera to fix this bug....???? Every time I upgrade, i have to upgrade every **** thing on the system! JEEZ!

FCE HD 3.5 needs Quicktime 7.0.4 at least to run.
Does the G4 sawtooth meet the minimum requirements ?

This is likely a problem with the drive itself. This error indicates unspecified I/O errors with the drive, which can be from a hardware fault, or a formatting issue. If the drive has valuable data on it, then try connecting it to another PC to get the data off, and then try fully partitioning and formatting the drive with Disk Utility. If this corrects the error then you should be able to use the drive again as it was likely a formatting issue, but if the problem continues then it is likely a hardware fault and the best solution is to be safe and replace the drive.

Apple Watch Will Not Pair - "Device Locked" Warning

My iPhone 5S has had terrible battery life over the last few days and I am trying to troubleshoot what if the issue is the Apple Watch. In order to check, I tried un-pairing the Apple Watch from my phone so I could re-pair the watch and see if it helped. It is important to note that I have an Exchange account which requires a complex passcode. This situation required me to use the "Unlock with iPhone" feature and not a four digit simple passcode.
Now my phone will not pair with the watch and the watch will not unlock via the phone. I am stuck on the "Device Locked - First put on your Apple Watch, then unlock your iPhone" screen any time I try to do anything.
Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?

I had a similar problem (also with work-forced unlock phone to unlock watch). I did a restore of my watch and it seems to be working since (and I was not required to do anything re: the passcode).
Also, make sure you turn off the "Mirror iPhone" setting for Airplane Mode - so far as I can tell, if you go into Airplane Mode on the watch, you'll never be able to unlock it again without a restore since Bluetooth will be disabled so you can't unlock the watch by unlocking the phone.

Device lock not working when put to sleep

I set up device lock with pw, but the only way it will work is when the screen is lock after time expiry. It does not work if I put device to sleep within the time set. For example, if i set "Lock Device After" to 5 mins, and I press sleep button within 5 mins, I could still wake device up by swiping without having to enter any pw.
I think this cannot be part of the design, right? This is a clear security loop hole or bug. Please help.

E63 - Memory Corrupted - Due to Device Lock / Remo...

I have a brand new Nokia E63 (same as E71). My memory card is suddenly corrupted, but I managed to fix it. I believe the source of the problem is the Remote Lock and the Device Lock of the unit.
The problem started after I enabled the Device Lock and Remote Lock of my E63 unit. After a couple of hours, I tried opening my apps in the memory card. To my surprise, it's corrupted! I didn't panic because I'm confident I could retrieve the contents of the card with a memory reader device. But when I inserted my memory card to my PC, the card is unreadable. I had a feeling that the card must had been badly corrupted. But how? I just got this unit almost a day ago. I didn't do anything odd. I'm an OOP-Design Patterns oriented programmer so I'm not newbie when it comes to best practices.
As I searched the web, I found that there are people who encountered the same exact problem. And their guess is also the Device Lock.
So what I did is I disabled the Remote Lock and the Device Lock feature. I checked my memory card and it's still corrupted!
I turn off my unit and turn it on again, but sadly it's still corrupted!
I removed the memory card while the unit is on and then reinserted the card, and it worked.
In summary, to solve this memory corrupted problem, try disabling the Remote Lock and Device Lock feature. To disable the Device Lock, revert the password to "12345" (Do not type the quotes). Remove the memory card (Use the remove memory card feature of your unit!). Re-insert the card to your unit and problem should be fixed.

i wonder if its a problem with this phone...i have faced a lot of problems with accessing data on the memory card...time & again the songs added to the music player list disappear...the applications that i installed on the memory card are also sometimes "invisible"...when i try installing them again, it says these already exist...
have formatted the memory card quite a few times now...
luckily for me i took the backup of the memory card (that came in the box) & phone on the very 1st day...
hence, every time i format the memory card, i copy the initial contents...
but its quite irritating & frustrating...1 nite i go to sleep after listening to songs, the next morning it shows no songs found...have to restart the phone 2-3 times to find them again...
is phone lock & device lock the same thing that you talking about? i have tried the phone lock but my memory card did not get corrupted...remote lock i have never tried...

i think the specs that you mentioned for playback will be compatible...d "640x480, 15fps, 3GP"
2) 3GP videos are played...but its quite interesting...the phone plays some videos while says "file corrupt" for others of the same format...i had 2-3 video songs of mp4 format,they work absolutely fine...i then transferred some new mp4 videos & they simply wont play...
3) it takes exactly 2 hours ( you can see it on the clock ) to charge from 0 to 100%...which is quite good coz a 1500mah battery gets charged in 2 hours...i had a 6265 earlier which took around 2.5 hrs to 3 hrs to get charged with the charger that came in the box...using the adapter, ca44 or something, it got charged in 1.5 hours dot.
4) ya the hearset has a mic...the best thing about this phone or rather one of the best thing is that it has a 3.5mm audio jack...you can insert any damn headphones (your fav ones) into it & enjoyyyyy...even speakers that you attach to your laptop/computer can be used...its awesome

Stopping remote device lock request

Is there any way to stop a remote lock from find my iphone prior to the device connecting to the internet? We are trying to prevent a device lock for police tracking purposes.

That depends somewhat on your wifi settings, if it's configured to automatically join networks then yes it will join any network it encounters. When you lremotely ock a device, all you do is remotely trigger any lock settings already set up on it using the same code that it's set to lock with, if it's not set to lock with a code then you remotely change that and enter a code to use. Basically the remote lock, just sets the screen lock to on.

Hi all,
Can someone advise how to create “Screen Lock / Device Lock” shortcut on Z10 desktop, please?
All older BB OS (5,x, 6.x, 7.x) has been always nice lock icon to lock device. In Z10 I have to hold and release hardware button and touch screen to lock it. This is very uncomfortable and long lasting.

MI 2.5 SP14: device locked

Hi,
our backend system was down earlier today, but is up again. But it seems like all devices that tried to syncrhonize at that time are now locked. We think it is because of MI having a queue to the backend system for a specific device and that keeps the specific device locked. How can we delete the queue and then unlock the device?

Hi,
check MEREP_MON. Are there items still in I_PARTIAL and not going any further? If this is the case, ignore them and start the process of the items in I_WAITING.
Then soft reboot the devices with the issue and sync. The one that was waiting for the item you set to IGNORE - wel, in 50% of the cases a rebuild isnecessary for that device, but then it should work aain for all others.

Apple Configurator - Passcode - Grace Period for Device Lock

Help.
I am using 40 new iPads in a classroom, using Apple Configurator. I set a passcode to the student profile, and the Grace Period for Device Lock is set to 4 hours. However, every time the iPad is locked, it requires a passcode to unlock it, even if immediately turned back on. The grace period function is not working. Anyone else have a problem with this?

Hopefully this will be an update within Apple Configurator soon. The configurator has the potentail to be a great tool but lacks soem really basic features.
I'll take a look at making an encrypted backup in iTunes, although none of my iPads are showing up as devices within iTunes. Maybe becasue they are in supervise mode ?
Also just noticed that iPad 20 is not appearing in the Configurator even though its conected and lit up in the sync cab. I've change leads and ports in the cab but getting nothing.

Device control in FCE of Canon HV20

This question doesn't seem to be have answered very succinctly in other posts, though it seems to have been touched on.
I am trying to capture HDV footage into FCE from a Canon HV20 camera. I want to be able to log and capture the footage, but I can't seem to be able to use the log and capture function, as I cannot control the HV20 camera through FCE. Is this normal? I am able to do this fine in Final Cut Pro. Is there a reason why this would be different between the two apps??
Any help or plugins or just a "yeah, you're out of luck", would be much appreciated.

The original footage was recorded on a HDV tape. HV20 recording setup: HD STANDARD is "HDV", COMP OUT is "1080i".
My HV20 is connected via a DV cable (IEEE 1394) from the HDV/DV port to the Firewire 400 port on the back of the iMac. The only other connected component is the keyboard with a wireless mighty mouse. As for the HV20 setup, PLAYBACK STD is "HDV", COMP OUT is "1080i", DV OUTPUT is "HDV/DV". One thing I did notice, is that as soon as I connect the firewire to the HV20, PLAYBACK STD and DV OUTPUT are grayed out in the playback setup menu.
I'm using FCE 4.0 (pre-installed last week by Apple), set for HD, HDV Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60, using "all rates". My scratch disk is defaulted to the iMac HD with over 450GB. When I then execute a capture, I first get prompted for a file name, then I get a black screen with the Apple logo in the center and the "Cueing Tape - press ESC..." msg while the HV20 tape begins to play. When this occurs, the HV20 LCD turns blue and the following text appears: PLAYBACK STD LOCKED, PLAYBACK IS RESTRICTED. Once I press ESC, the HV20 tape stops, the black screen disappears, and no capture files...
If I try a NTSC DV setting, I am able to capture from the HV20 - this said, as well as the fact that my iMac does recognize that I have a HV20 connected via the firewire port (see below), I am therefore assuming that my connection is correct and working properly.

USB Devices lock-up iMac 2011

2011 iMac 3.4Ghz i7 SSD+2TB 2GB AMD 16GB Corsair RAM
I noticed I was experiencing random lock-ups and freezes during the first few weeks of owning the iMac.
I went down the line of changes I made to the system.
RAM Upgrade, software installs.
I went with a bare OS, stock memory, still experiencing lock-ups.
added everything back, still experiencing lock-ups.
kept everything unplugged for two weeks, played itunes movies in quicktime on loops (10 total, 5 form the ssd and 5 from the hdd) to see if one or the other would crash the system. Two weeks straight no crash.
Plugged my iPhone in to sync and update, after a few hours over 8hours) i came back to the system froze & locked. no mouse movement or keyboard input (caps lock key wont turn on and the seconds in the top clock were stuck).
hard restarted, left it run for a week nothing, plugged in my apple wired keyboard, the next day hard freeze/lock-up.
this was repeated with each usb port, within a few hours to a few days the system lock-up freeze with any usb devices plugged in.
it would not do this with FIreWire devices or audio cable or ethernet cable attached just USB.
is there any way to resolve this without getting the logic board replaced? or is this a firmware/software issue?
other than that the system is amazingly fast and one of the best.

Device lock

Hi, my phone has currently locked me out and I need to know if there is anything I can do. It apparently tried to unlock itself 5 times while in my pocket (I usually use the sliding picture lock) but after that point it switches to the typed password. I have inserted what I thought was my password (and many others that might have been the password) and it is not even recognising that I am submitting a password. So I have typed in between 30 and 40 different variations of passwords that I would have used, and it has yet to even count one more miss typed password. Please help I don't know what to do.

At this point I believe that it is waiting for you to type BLACKBERRY, and then it will just resume the countdown to 10 and if the last try is not correct, it will then wipe the device and you will be able to start from scratch
