My iMac keeps hanging and asking for a reboot
Every now and again (4 to 5 times per week) my system will hang with the message asking my to hold the power button for 5 seconds to reboot.
This is a brand new iMac (about 4 weeks old).
I work from home so I am using a lot off applications (iTunes, iMail, VPN, MSN, Safari, iTerm, Xll) to mention a few. I did think it was initially a combination of both Parallels and VPN running together but I have stopped using Paralles and it is still happening..
Not sure what to do next?
Thanks for any assistance
It sounds like a kernel panic which could be software or hardware problems. Since the machine is new I would take it back for the experts to check under warranty. If that isn't feasible you could post some of the crash logs here and people could try to see if something specific is indicated.

Hi,
i have an iPhone 6 64GB just less than 2 months old , the phone keeps restarting for no reason and also keeps asking me to activate phone and I can't do it over cellular which is very annoying if I dont have wifi around !
I have tried restarting the phone , I also tried erasing everything , and reinstalling apps And backing up aswel.
I Have the new iOS 8.2 ... This happened once few weeks back but it keeps happening 2-3 times a day now.
any idea ???? Please help
Message was edited by: AlishajaieTake it to an Apple store and they will diagnose the hardware, and replace it if it is failing (which is likely).
You can try restoring it using iTunes, set it up as New. If the problem exists before your restore your backup then it is almost certainly hardware. -
IMac stuck (and asking for hard reboot)
The problem is that suddenly (during Websurfing, watching video etc.) gray "curtain" falling down the screen and message (in different languages) appears saying I must push Power button until iMac shut down then turn it ON again.
After hard-reboot in suggested way OS sends error report to Apple.
There was about 6 times for two last weeks, today - twice.
I really puzzled by this problem and hopin' some advices from community to recieve.
My iMac is about 1 year old - 21.5", 3.2 Ghz i3, 8Gb RAM, OSX Lion 10.7.2Damned!
Everyday's KP.

Apple80211agent keeps hanging and terminating
I am unable to connect to the campus wifi where I work ever since I had my macbook air in for an unrelated (camera) service issue [service done at an apple store]. The main problem from what I can tell is something called: apple80211agent keeps hanging and terminating for some reason. Can I repair/replace the error prone system file somehow?

I can't update apps on my iphone 5. theirs an old apple ID. That I don't have the pass word. I've created a new apple ID. but the old one keeps popping up. I have it on the Itunes on the phone but the old one keeps comming up and asking for a pass word.
Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them. You will have to delete the apps from the phone and re-purchase them using your Apple ID.

I have changed my Apple ID from an old email to a new one. But It keeps coming up with my old email and asking for my old password. How do i stop this from happening and get it onto my new one? Its on my Ipad and iphone 5, please help as its doing my head it
How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do. -
How can I fix iCal that keeps popping up and asking for my ID
ICal keeps popping up and asking for me to make sure my password and ID are entered correctly. I have been up on my accounts and done this endless times. I have a POP account that I want to add to the list of accounts under ICal's preferences, but I'm stuck when it keeps telling me that it can find my POP server, but the ID doesn't work. I've tried every ID I ever had and it still doesn't work. How can I fix this?
Greetings,
Thats the issue right there. POP is for email, not for calendars. Remove that pop account from the accounts are of iCal.
You would add a POP account to the Mail application to get emails.
Hope that helps. -
My AppStore wont update my apps because my old iTunes account keeps coming up and asks for billing info HELP!!!
Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. This cannot be changed. To avoid getting the request you are seeing delete all apps that request the former Apple ID and download them again.
Any apps for which you paid a fee will require that you purchase them again. -
After forgetting the password for my iPhone, I am trying to restore it through iTunes, however, during the process, the phone keeps turning on and asking for the password, thus canceling the process. Any advice?
Yes, you will still get the prompt.
I meant reset then try the recovery mode restore again.
You can also try DFU Mode.
DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode is different than Recovery Mode.
DFU Mode is a special mode where the device can still interface with iTunes, yet it does not load the iBoot bootloader.
DFU Mode:
Plug your device into your computer.
Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
NOTE: Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present. Be patient, it make take several trys. -
Hello....after updating to Yosemite my mail isn't working . Keeps saying can't connect to exchange server and asking for password
I am having this exact same problem with my gmail account. Hopefully someone will have a remedy.
-
After upgrading to OS X Yosemite, I keep getting popups asking for my "Local Items" keychain for cloudd, calendar, messenger and on and on...and then it wants me to change my password, only won't accept it when I do.
There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, testing after each one, until it's resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
Follow the directions in this support article.
Step 2
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the iCloud keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain.
Step 3
Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the Keychain box. You'll be prompted to delete the local iCloud keychain. Confirm. Then re-check the box. Follow one of the procedures described in this support article to set up iCloud Keychain on an additional device.
Step 4
Open the Keychains folder as in Step 1. There should be a file in that folder with the name "login.keychain". If there is also a file iwith the name "login_renamed_1.keychain", then please do as follows:
☞ Rename login.keychain to "login-old.keychain".
☞ Rename login_renamed_1.keychain to "login.keychain".
You can then close the folder.
Delete the login keychain from the keychain list in Keychain Access. Choose
Delete References
when prompted, not Delete References & Files.
Select
File ▹ Add Keychain...
from the menu bar. Add back the file now named "login.keychain". If any of your needed keychain items are missing from it, also add back the file now named "login-old.keychain". I suggest you transfer any needed items from that keychain to the login keychain, then delete it. The transfers are made by drag-and-drop in Keychain Access. You'll need to enter your password for each item transferred.
Run Keychain First Aid again. Quit Keychain Access. -
An old Apple ID keeps popping up and asking for password; how do I get rid of it?
Here is what I did to fix it on Win 7 64-bit system:
Computer > C: > Program Files
Delete the Oberon Games File
If you have a Program Files (x86), delete it there, too.
Reboot.
