    Hi Haziq0135,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your MacBook Pro is starting up to a gray screen with a Apple logo and a spinning gear. The article linked below provides a lot of great troubleshooting suggestions that should resolve issues like that.

Boot from the installer disk and start again, you did backup before you started this, right?

Turned my mac on and have a plain screen with an apple logo. Nothing will work?

    Hi,
Some kernel extension or driver isn't loading properly, it seems. Try booting in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key down on startup until you reach the grey Apple backdrop with the spinning cogwheel and a progress bar. As soon as the progress bar shows up, you can let go of the Shift key.
Booting in Safe Mode takes a lo-ooong time, so be patient and don't interrupt (the computer booting, not me talking...). Once you've reached a workable Desktop, reboot in normal mode and tell us if it solved your problem.

  • My iMac won't start. I have to press T and mount it to an old G4.

My iMac won't start. I have to press T and mount it to an old G4 then eject then boot but slow and lots of beech balls. First aid says it has a 'Invalid key length' in 1 volume and can't be repaired. Will an upgrade to Mountain lion from Snow Leopard help or Disk Warrior as my files won't install.

Thanks PATRICKMELE for your response, however I'm not sure if my Time Machine backup is trustworthy. I had a problem with that about 2 weeks ago and I took to an Apple Genius who ended up wiping my Time Machine backups. The new backup took 9 days and now looking at Time Machine Preferences it shows 1.59 GB of 3TB available; Oldest backup: None; Latest backup: None?
I'm taking your advice and calling Apple Support as soon as possible. Thanks for your help

    Hi Paula2808,
I’m sorry you are having trouble starting up your iMac, that must be quite frustrating. There are some troubleshooting steps I would suggest in order to get you up and running again.
First I suggest using the steps in this article for the Apple logo appearing -

If things still are not working correctly, you may want to continue with the steps in this article -

  • What do I do when I start my iMac I get a white screen with an apple and a moving circle?

All I get when my iMac is turned on is a white screen with an apple and a moving circle.  What should I do to get the iMac to boot?

Do you have reliable backup you can restore from, as an erase and re-install may be required?
Before you got down that route, it's possible that it might get fixed if you try again. Not sure about that particular error, but I have had errors in the past that Disk Utility wouldn't fix on the first attempt but then subsequently did.
It's also possible that the (around $99, I think) Disk Warrior might resolve it - but not guaranteed.
However, I just found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3862376?start=15&tstart=0 have a look at Nirvi's post at the end - there may be hope (I've not tried this, although it seems to have helped a few, although not everybody - so at your own risk and I wouldn't try it if I didn't have backup).

Hi, I have an iMac which I just booted up and have a white screen with a blue folder with a question mark blinking on and off. Any help would be appreciated. Tommy

That means your iMac could not find a system to use for startup.  That may mean the internal hard drive has become faulty, or the hard drive mechanism is fine, but the startup volume ("Macintosh HD" unless you renamed it) may have some type of data corruption that makes it unbootable.
First, you should try resetting PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
and if that does not help, use this procedure to reset SMC (power management).  If your iMac is from 2008, this is the procedure for Intel (not PowerPC) Macs.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
(This forum category is for "iMac (PPC)," so if this iMac is older (with a PowerPC processor), please post back.)
Disconnect all peripheral devices.  When you connect it back to power, if you have been using a power strip of some type, try connecting it directly to a wall outlet, by itself (at least initially).  Start up with nothing but the power cord connected, then add only standard mouse and keyboard.  If it works, run it that way for a while.
If PRAM and SMC reset have no effect, you should insert your Mac OS X installation disc (for the currently installed system) in the optical drive, and restart with the C key held down.  This should get you to the Installer screen, where you can run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In Disk Utility, does the internal hard drive appear in the sidebar?  If so, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab.  Use Repair Disk.  If an error is found, note if Disk Utility was able to fix it or not.
You can then quit Disk Utility and attempt to restart normally.

  • I inadvertantly dropped my iphone 3 and now have a white screen with green vertical lines to the right.  It won't sync with itunes due to an error. What can I do?

I inadvertantly dropped my iphone 3 and now have a white screen with green vertical lines to the right of the screen.  It won't sync with itunes due to an error. What can I do?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If it does not resolve the issue, the device is permanently damaged and will require replacement.

  • Restarted my MacBook Air, just have a white screen with apple . Will not start up

Restarted my MacBook Air, just have a white screen with apple . Will not start

What version MacBook Air do you have?  Usually identified by the year you bought it, i.e. mid-year 2012, 2011, etc.  Also, what OSX are you running?  (please provide OSX ver number, i.e. 10.8.2 for latest Mountain Lion, etc.)
Not sure I can help you directly but for others to lend a hand, they'll need to know this information to make a sound suggestion.  I see you're new to posting here so this will help you in the future.
    Good luck.

Older model iMac.  Grey screen, no tones, apple logo and spinner, then shuts down.  Tried all greyscreen tips on Apple Website.  Do not have start up disc.  Do not know what OS it runs.  Suggestions?

Since you don't have a startup disc you haven't done ALL of the tips on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
I don't know what you've done but you need to follow the tips listed and that could include possibly erasing and reinstalling the OS. Older model iMac does nothing to help us understand what you're working with. You can call Apple and provide them with your serial number and for a fee they'll ship you a set of original install discs or you could possibly use Snow Leopard which you can get for $20 here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
You can enter the serial number here for specs on the iMac http://www.everymac.com
And if you don't know where to find the serial number see here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1349
