Boot from the installer disk and start again, you did backup before you started this, right?

I did the back up as instructed... Installed a larger hard drive and followed the restore instructions... Now I get a white screen with a folder icon and blinking question mark. When trying to set startup with new drive I get a bless tool error... Help!!

If you have installed a new hard drive , you will need to have formatted it in Disk Utility correctly. This may explain your problem.
Boot  into your 10.6 Install disk again at the top menubar > Utilities > select Disk utility and in there select your new hard drive, and select the tab Erase and choose to make the format as  Mac OS Extended Journaled. When that is finished look in the main window to make sure that the partition map scheme says GUID Partition Table.
Now go to the Restore tab and reinstall from your backup.

  • Installing IOS 8 on my iPad stuck on white screen with the apple. Help please?

I'm in the process of installing IOS 8 on my iPad 3, and it is still on the white screen with the apple. It has been on this screen for 24 hours now with no change. Can anyone help?

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

Restarted my MacBook Air, just have a white screen with apple . Will not start

What version MacBook Air do you have?  Usually identified by the year you bought it, i.e. mid-year 2012, 2011, etc.  Also, what OSX are you running?  (please provide OSX ver number, i.e. 10.8.2 for latest Mountain Lion, etc.)
Not sure I can help you directly but for others to lend a hand, they'll need to know this information to make a sound suggestion.  I see you're new to posting here so this will help you in the future.
    Good luck.

I'm trying to update my iPhone 4s to iOS 7.1.2 and it just froze on the screen with the apple and the loading bar, it won't move and it's been like 45 minutes PLEASE HELP!

iOS updates can take a while, try back in an hour or so. My iPad took half an hour for an incremental update. And that was on a fast home WiFi.

  • Tried updating my itouch, now I have a white screen. What do I do?

Tried updating my itouch, now I have a white screen.  I tried plugging it into my computer to update via itunes, but itunes will not recognize that the device is plugged in.  What do I do?

You will likely have to let the battery fully drain
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have the black screen with the apple after trying to reset.  Help!

In the reset command menu, I 'erased all content and settings'. The Ipod touch then sat for over an hour with the apple logo and what appeared to be a progress bar underneath it. It then lost the progress bar. I cannot now get it to do anything. My PC will not recognize it (The Touch switches on when connected by the usb cable) also I have tried to recover the ipod to the computer using the DFU function. In Itunes the diagnostic does not see the ipod either.
    Any advice/help gratefully recieved Thankyou

This -SAME- exact thing happened to me. TWICE!
I'm sorry to tell you this, but I think you may have lost all your data. At least that's what they said when I brought it in to the Genius bar. The only way they were able to fix it was by going into Disk Utility, erasing the HD, then reinstalling MacOS. It *****, I know.
For me, after they did that, I returned home and tried partitioning/installing again and the same exact thing happened. Exactly as you said, wrong partition size so I quit, restart then the blinking underscore... and here I am with a completely blank laptop again
My computer is a macbook pro late 08 and I chose to partition 20GB. The partition size showed up as 131893 or something like that, and was the only choice in the list of partitions.

  • HT5858 I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages.  So, in trying to revert to the default settings on my iPad I went into "Settings" and reset everything.  Now, I have a black screen with a white apple and a white line!  What do

For the last severl weeks I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages.  Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings.  So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything.  Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it.  Nothing else works.  What can I do?  Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.
You can read about recovery mode here.
    Recovery mode - Apple
However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.
