My images won't save as jpeg unless I go to Save As... what is happening to my images?

My images look great when edited in photoshop and when I got to close and save it won't give me the option to save as a jpeg so I have to go to File Save As and then save to jpeg. But when I go to order them in Roes they look drab and awful but the thumbnail looks great. Am I saving it wrong somehow?

Go to Image --> Mode and set image to 8 or 16 bit. If the image has 32 bit, it won't export through the save for web dialog.
Let me know if this fixes the issue.

  • What has happened to 'Locate Images' in ID CS6?

    Does anyone know what has happened to 'Locate Images' in ID CS6?
    In CS5.5 when re-linking images which were missing InDesign used to highlight the image provided it was available in the folder, presumably to help out when you have folders of images. In InDesign CS6 this seems to have dissappeared and is somewhat annoying.
    Also when editing an image from the contextual menu in ID CS6, and saving from photoshop or Illustrator you save over the last linked file with that name. For example we have a server which our work is stored on, we do not work directly from the server but take off the project we will be working on and do this locally then copy it back to the server overwriting with the latest version. If I, or anyone else, chooses to edit an image from within the ID doc locally once copied over, saving the edit results in the edit application (PS or AI) saving over the version that is on the server and not the local version on the Mac. So when copying over all of your hard work you are infact replacing it with a new ID doc but all the previous images & vectors etc. This makes for some confusion and took a while to work out what exactly was happening. We didn't seem to have that issue in CS5.5. Obviously we are aware of the issue now and remain vigilant, for the most part! But I wondered if anyone else had noticed this issue and how they may have resolved it?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Ryan

    This is two separate issues. The highlighting is a behavior change and not for the better inthe opinion of many, but nothing you can do about it at the moment.
    Links, on the other hand, have ALWAYS been absolute, as long as ID can find them in the path stored in the file. Even if you copy a links folder from the server to the local machine, ID is going to ignore it and use the links on the server as long as they are there and you have a connection.

  • What is happening to my image gallery?

    I have created the layout for my site and I have an image gallery on the right hand side.  By default the upper left thumbnail opens as the main picture.  If you click on that thumbnail, it swaps the image, yet the thumbnail disappears and a question mark appears.   This only happens on that thumbnail and it happens on every page.
    This is my site in development stage.

    You have the rollover wrong on that first thumb.
    Here is its code:
    a href="#">
    <img id="thumb_01" width="80" height="60" onmousedown="MM_swapImage(''thumb_01','','large_image','photo_large','','_images/home1_lg.png',1)" name="thumb_01" alt="home_1sm" src="large_image"/>
    </a>
    and here it is from another thumb:
    <a href="#">
    <img width="80" height="60" onmousedown="MM_swapImage('photo_large','','_images/home3_lg.png',1)" alt="thumb_3" src="_images/home_3sm.jpg"/>
    </a>
    Your first thumb is being told to swap ITSELF out with another image, followed by another partial copy of the arguments - it's simply malformed so remove the behavior on the first thumb completely and do it again.
    That said, your gallery would be better set up with the onmousedown behavior (onclick is better actually) on the <a> tag around the <img> rather than on the image tag itself.
    Hope that helps.

  • Turning itself off, resetting time to 2008 and won't charge...only in the last 2 days -what's happened????

    In the last 2 days my Macbook has twice turned itself off just out of nowhere - not even any noise, then when i get it back on it's reset to midnight Jan 2008? It also stops charging as well, the plug in just turns dead, no lights, no charge. Even if i unplug it, plug it back in etc.  The time eventually resets itself but that's not the point - is anyone else having these problems?? Dodgy update somewhere maybe? help!!!!

    P.S. when it plugs into the computer, it doesn't always Sync- it thinks it's unplugged too fast for itunes to recognize it.
    The phone also crashes ALL the time (even with the application for the phone settings- I have only basic apps). My itunes crashes a lot too, but I've re-installed and all that- I think the phone is crashing it.

  • Save as JPEG changes CMYK colour

    Hi,
    I have a solid colour in Photshop that I set CMYK values for (I work in CMYK image mode). When I save as JPEG, the resulting JPEG file changes one of the CMYK values by 1 percentage point. When I save as TIFF, it works fine (CMKY values match original photshop file). What is going on?
    This is for CS4.
    Thanks.

    I'm confused. If your goal is to print the image, why not open the jpeg in Photoshop, do a save as using the native .PSD Photoshop file format, and just continue to work and save in that file format? Going back to jpeg makes no sense.
    In the first place, Jpeg does not support the CMYK color space, so every time you save it, it will save in the much smaller sRGB space. Also, between this and the fact that it compresses the image even at the highest settings, you are going to get changes in the image, including in the colors.
    Just avoid all this and work in .PSD file format.
    Another point: all of the photographers I know usually work in an RGB color space, Adobe rgb for example. As I understand it, CMYK is used in graphics and publication, often because you want to split the image into four channels to use in commercial four-color offset printing.
    If you're going to be doing inkjet printing, or via a service, I'd suggest staying in an Rgb workspace--you can still decide to use the CMYK menu to select your colors.
    Color management can be tricky, so I'd suggest you do a bit of research.

  • XY Graph Won't save to JPEG when Black and White...and run from TestStand.

    I am creating an XY graph and manipulating the colors of the plots, background, etc.  I am saving this graph to JPEG using the Write JPEG File vi and after it is saved I import it inot a test report.  This works fine in color, but when I create a B&W plot, it won't save to JPEG.  Let me clarify:  It won't save to JPEG when I run the VI from TestStand.  It does save to JPEG when I run the VI as a stand alone application in LabVIEW.
    Problem:
    Run VI from LabVIEW ~ Saves the JPEG in both Color and B&W.
    Run VI from TestStand ~ Saves the JPEG in Color, but does not save the JPEG in B&W.
    Here is how I am making all the plots and background B&W in my code:
    Change all Active Plots to Black using property node.
    Change all Active Cursors to Black using property node.
    Change the Plot BG colors (major/minor grids, etc) to lighter colors using property node.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    A few questions: What version of LV are you using? How are you getting the control image that you are sending to the JPG? Third what exactly happens when you try to save the B/W image under TestStand? Error?

  • Image size change when save as jpeg

    Hi
    I have recently encountered an issue when I save file as jpeg in CS6. I prepared my image for printing and my image is a bit smaller than the print size (20" x 40") so I created a new file (8 bit) with new exact print size. Then I placed my image into this newly created layer and adjust my image size to fit. After this, I flatterned the image and went to file>save as and picked JPG extension. Dialogue box appeared and I selected 10 for quality (scale 1-12) then I hit ok to save. After that I went to open the newly saved JPG file and check the file size and for somereasons, It has been halved to around 10"x20". However, pixle dimension of the image remained unchange because I have unticked resample option. Does anyone have any ideas of why this is the case as It's doing my head in.
    Thanks
    Dean

    This has been discussed ad nauseam here.  Please do a forum search.  < sigh >
    Bottom line:  If the pixel count remains the same, your image has not been "reduced or halved" at all.  Just change the ppi resolution accordingly without resampling.
    Save for Web defaults to 72 ppi regardless of what you had specified earlier,´.

  • Why won't my trial of CC Photoshop let me save my PSD images as JPG or GIF?

    Why won't my trial of CC Photoshop let me save my PSD images as JPG or GIF?

    One thing to check is that your PSD is RGB/8 or /16, but not /32  (32 bits per channel)
    If that is not the problem
    Let's try this:
    Close Adobe Photoshop if it is opened.
    Find the following:   (windows user can hit windows key + r, then in run cmd line type "%appdata%" to locate your "AppData\Roaming" directory)
    \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Adobe Preferences CC Settings
    Rename the  "Adobe Preferences CC Settings" folder to "Adobe Preferences CC Settings_old"  so that preferences settings can be recreated.
    Reopen Photoshop CC and open a new or existing file to verify that your "save for web" option is back and not grayed out.

  • N96 Photo Editor - Edited image won't save

    When I open a photo, and select 'Edit' from options, I rotate my photos to the correct composition (as they were taken upside down!) and then from options I select 'Save'. The progress bar appears to indicate the device is processing the change.
    However on returning back to the image menu, the photo simply reverts back to how it was before. Which is annoying as with the auto rotate switched on its impossible to look at photos when are upside down!
    Am I missing something out or is there a bug in the image editor?
    Hope you can help, thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    I've just tested this and you are right - it does revert back to displaying the original photo after saving. If you then just click "Back" to return to the menu, you may no see the image depending on which option you selected when you went into "Photos".
    The new image won't appear in "Captured items" because it is not an image actually taken with the phone's camera. If you go back to the Photos menu and select "All", your edited image should appear in there.

  • Is there anyway to suppress or disable the save as jpeg options dialog box on individiual images/pic

    Is there anyway to suppress or disable the save as jpeg options dialog box on individiual images/pictures?

    UI dialogs are an application setting, not a file property. Selectively suppressing them on a per-file basis is not possible, but you can of course create an action and suppress the dialogs...

  • Webcam capture & save as JPEG image

    Hi,
    I'm creating an application to capture image via webcam using directshow. I've managed to capture the stream using samplegrabber.
    the problem is when I save the grabbed image to a JPEG, the colors are incorrect.
    provided the link of the captured image from the webcam http://www.filefreak.com/pfiles/44160/test2.jpg
    the right hand side of the image should be brown colored, not blue as in the picture.
    I've also test to save as a bmp image, the color are ok.
    this is how i save the grabbed webcam frame into a jpeg file
    sampleGrabber->GetCurrentBuffer(&bufferSize, (long*)frameBuffer);
    //save into jpeg

    image_buffer = (unsigned char*)frameBuffer;
    jpeg_stdio_dest(&cinfo, outfile);

    jpeg_start_compress(&cinfo, TRUE);
    row_stride = videoWidth * 3;
    while (cinfo.next_scanline < cinfo.image_height) {
