My iPad is connected to my wifi account but safari is saying it is not connected to the internet
Hi I have had my ipad for 2 years with no problems and have just changed broadband provider from aol to orange, all seemed ok at first but in the last couple of days the ipad has stopped connecting to the internet. The wifi is on and connected to the router no problem but when on safari i just keep getting a pop-up stating the page cannot open because it is not connected to the internet. My sons both have macbooks and work perfectly, we even took the ipad to another house with wifi and the ipad connected with no problems. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem or is it a call to orange broadband??
Your iPad sees the WiFi signal but obviously it is not connecting to the internet.
The very first thing I would try is to reboot your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in and then see if the iPad will connect to the internet.

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

I have a BTHub4 - My iMac, iPhone, and children's iPads all connect to the internet no problem. I cannot get my 2 MacBook Pros or my partners MacBook Air to connect. Have tried diagnostics - says to change DNS but it is correct. I have re-set both router and all laptops - no joy. They can all see the network but cannot connect.
This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings. We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect? -

Here is the order of what I did to my iPad:
1. A restrictions passcode was put on and we couldn't remember it. Despite numerous attempts at righting this, I couldn't. The iPad would not sync with any iTunes on any computer, Mac or PC.
2. I put a, 'use passcode after one minute' passcode on it and deliberately put in 10 wrong passcodes so it would disable the iPad. Now it still will not connect to any iTunes.
3. I connected to my iCloud account and removed the iPad from the cloud; it says it will erase all iPad data when it connects to the internet. I am fine with that, I need to know what to do now, though. iPad says, 'Connect to iTunes,' but it won't. My ipad suddenly wouldn't connect to the internet so I turned it off and on, checked the settings, there wasn't anything wrong and I could connect to my wifi from my phone in the same location. So I pressed reset and delete all data and settings. Now it wont reset and a message comes up that says "your ipad could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached:. Try connecting your ipad to itunes to activate it or try again in a couple of minutes." I cant connect to itunes because I cant get past this page in the reconfiguring process. Trying again and again will not work. Can anyone help?
Thanks.By reseting and deleting all data and settings, you wiped your iPad clean of anything that was "yours". Put your iPad into recovery mode and restore from iTunes. Hopefully you have a backup there to recover all your data.

My ipad 2 that i got for my birthday from my uncle has the wifi bars showing saying that it is connected to the internet but it will not go to any ofn the websites i try to go to and i tries it on my sisters ipod touch 4th gen and it wont do it either and i have absolutely no idea what to do
Your uncal's wireless sigle may be put out by his router but his Internet is most likely down. Try restarting his router and see what happens. Also make sure that his internet line is plugged into both the router and wall. Hope tis helps.

Unless there is a cellular provider in England that can provide CDMA service and is a partner with whomever provides your cell service in the US, then you would not be able to use your cellular capability. My iPad is working fine and connecting to the internet no problem. My iMac computer, when I check the system preferences and I go into network it says my network is working fine and I appear to be connected to the Internet, yet when I going try to go on safari it won't let me connect to the Internet or if it does the connection is slow. Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all slow?

Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference? -
I want to know if my iPad is protected through the theft protection in iOS 7. I have wifi connectability, but mobile service connection that I subscribe to.
I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.

Additional things to try.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
