  • HH5 loses internet connection for a few seconds

I am struggling with the same issue for quite some time now.
We have HH5 Type A  and BT Infinity 2 unlimited
All of a sudden it happens several times a day that we lose the internet connection. At the same time, the HH5 manager doesn't respond either.
I can not find anything in the HH5 event log that could tell me what causes it. First it started with the HH5 restarting on its own several nights in a row. Then I found out at least one of them was when they updated the firmware.
Last night according to the event log the hub restarted again for no apparent reason.
So this morning I was playing on my tablet and suddenly bang the connection was lost, I checked Hub manager via my PC and all I got was again can't connect. Tried to google and no internet on my PC either.
There is nothing in wired Lan or Wifi event viewer, I don't get an orange broadband light on the HH5. Everything looks like nothing has ever been wrong.
I have done a factory reset and that didn't help at all.
    I keep getting this though
    Time and date                                Message
00:30:11, 12 Mar.(129353.160000) The system is going DOWN for reboot.

12:33:49, 10 Mar.(1185988.950000) The system is going DOWN for reboot.
And I am sick and tired of it.

  • Time Capsule drops Internet connection for 2-5 seconds

Is anyone having an issue with losing internet connection for about 2-5 seconds randomly? Started after I got the Time Capsule. First noticed it when my phone calls would drop for a second(Vonage). Did not think much of it until I noticed it dropping while playing online games?
Any Ideas? I hear it could be the latest firmware upgrade but can’t remember if this happened before.

If your Windows boxes are on the same WiFi network, that could be. I use to work with PC's and Macs combined. Not to bash Windows , but a number of problems we had were always Windows related.
You might try and just unhook your Windows boxes and see if it goes away! LOL

  • Updated iPad2 to iOS6. Now it randomly freezes. Have to reboot (home   sleep key for 15 seconds) several times per day. Help!

Help! I guess I can restore it to original factory settings but I am afraid of losing everything. If it helps the iPad is NOT jailbroken. Any ideas or do I have to wait for a future update?

Just to clarify. Once I am done with the iPad and push the sleep button (upper right corner) or just let it sleep from inactivity for a couple minutes, the issue happens when I try to wake it up. I can see the unlock screen with the pin pad but the iPad becomes unresponsive and I cannot enter the numbers or I can enter the numbers but it freezes right after that while the pin pad is still visible. The only thing that fixes it is to hold the home and sleep button for 10-15 seconds and wait a minute for the whole thing to reboot. At that point it usually works. Still, what I liked about the iPad was the convenience of being immediately ready and now I have to reboot many times per day.
I have an iPad2 with the latest update (6.01) and it is not jail broken. Apple help me please!

  • Loosing my internet connection for a few seconds i...

Let me start by saying that I am an IT consultant and I have quite a bit networking experience.
I am suffering from connectivity issues for months. I talked with BT and they've said there was no problem with my line. Everything is fine. So I started to testing on my local environment.
    Let me show the problem from my end before continue;
So seeing lots of package loss on the hop points. My first though "this can't be related with my equipment or flat" but hey, this is DSL with copper cables. There might be tons of reasons to see that.
    So started to test;
First thing I've done was listening to dialing tone from the landline. Listened it for a bit and it was fine.
I was also seeing some package loss on the modem (192.168.1.1) so I removed my Wi-Fi router (192.168.2.1) and other equipment which were connected to my BT Home Hub 3, connect my laptop with cable and did more testing. Yep, BT hub was faulty. Replaced that with another TP-Link modem-router. Package loss on the 192.168.1.1 disappeared but connectivity issues were still there.
Replaced the splitter and the other cables while testing but no luck.
I plugged off every other devices and moved away from the modem's location by thinking that they may effect the copper cables. Still, no luck.
    As a summary;
    * Line is fine.
    * Modem was faulty but replaced so modem is fine.
    * Replaced the splitter and the cables.
    * There is nothing to effect cables nearby.
    After all these tests. I dialed 150 from my landline and explained the situation but all I've got was a stupid wireless troubleshooting email and nothing else. I have no idea what kind of customer service is this but;
    Is this something known ?
Is there any other place to send this screenshot and explain the problem I have ?
    Any suggestions/solutions/ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

can you post tha adsl stats from your router plesae then run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results
    btspeedtester
are you currently connected to test socket?

  • G4 QS 733 loses internet connect often with Comcast any ideas??

I have a G4 QS 733 that loses internet connection through Comcast at least 2 times a day everyday for no rhyme or reason. I have had the cable modem replaced (on number 7 in 18 months but 2 were dead out of the box stupid refurbs) with a Motorola Surfboard from Best Buy and when it works it is great - 13mbps download consistently. I have a Belkin router wireless/wi-if and a PC and the Mac wired to it at the same desk with KVM and when the Mac loses connection if I switch to PC the PC connects fine so I think it is in the Mac but not sure. I have had several Macs hooked up to this same router including 2 Intel minis, several G3 towers and a few G3 iMacs and G4 towers as well and ALL had this problem at one time or another with no explanation whatsoever. I have replaced everything a minimum of 2 times now including router, modem, cables etc. and the cable drop from pole to house was replaced a few months back but no luck. Also all computers, router etc all hooked to APC battery backups so I do not think it is power related. I have no problems connecting my Pismo wiht either an Airport card or a Belkin 54g wireless PCMCIA card so I am convinced it is in the ethernet somwehow but not sure where. Anyone else have the same problems and fixed it?? Comcast is just not helpful and 14 service calls in 18 months is wearing thin at this point.

Well just for kicks I tried running Firefox for a little over a week along with Safari and jumping back and forth between the 2, very interesting results. I have found that when Safari loses internet connection and gives "cannot find server" type errors that Firefox still has a connection and keeps right on going. I am convinced the error is within Safari but cannot pin down what it is yet. I had same EXACT disconnection issues with an Intel Mini that got so frustrating I finally sold it and it too was running Safari and I wonder if it had the same issue. Not bashing Safari but maybe there is a problem with Safari and Comcast cable that is not showing up with other internet providers or browsers ?? I am pretty sure my connection is good as all the cable wires, modem etc are all new and my PC which his hooked to the same router and shares the monitor/keyboard with the G4 never loses connection when Safari does so I think this cuts the cable out of the loop as a problem. Anyone else have similar issues???

  • Sporadic Rotating Loss of Internet Connection for Just Some Devices

    Hi,
We've been having a problem where one or two of our devices (phones, laptops, iPads, Apple TV) lose internet connection for 10-30 sec at a time, while the others are fine.
As best as I can tell it's a full loss of connection, not just something running very slowly due to us pushing the bandwidth limits. I've experienced the latter elsewhere and this manifests very differently. It will instantly and fully disconnect a person from an online game or drop a skype call without the accompanying prolonged lag or distortion of bottlenecked bandwidth.
It happens at all times of day, and does not seem related to our peak times of bandwidth usage, nor the general public's peak times of usage.
We should have enough bandwidh for our usage, and usually we do. Our system is 25/25 Mbps and during our peak use at most we would probably have 1 laptop gaming, 1 HD video stream, and 2 non-HD streams. However, like I said before, the problem seems unrelated to overall bandwidth usage. The same problem occurs even at midnight when our local usage is minimal.
Overall we have 6 laptops, 5 phones, an iPad, 2 microcell signal boosters, and Apple TV, in total connected to the FiOS. We have a property with tenants where the signal is distributed via 3 WiFi routers and one direct ethernet cable to my laptop, and one to the Apple TV.
It happens on devices that are both connected through the WiFi (wife's laptop, phones, iPad) and ethernet (my laptop, Apple TV). It can happen with devices that are a few unobstructed feet from the WiFi router. However, it anecdotely seems to happen more on our phones than laptops.
My hunch is it is something outside our local network. This is because our equipment  and usage has basically remained unchanged over the last couple months. (We got one new microcell tower for a different carrier, one new wifi router, but overall same # of people and patterns of usage.) And yet the problem seems to be getting worse. Back in probably early November I don't remember this problem occuring at all.
My second best guess is there are more devices connected to the network than it can handle simultaneously, and it rotates which gets kicked off. Maybe this was occuring before but we didnt realize it.
My third guess is it has to due with signal interference with the various WiFi routers and microcell boosters. However, this seems less likely since it also affects devices connected via ethernet cables.
Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated! Thanks!
    -Ned

Ok, so in the mean time we decided to upgrade our service so I've only tried this solution now.
My problem though now is I can log into 192.168.1.1, then give my verizon admin password, and then set my channel preference. That seems fine for changing the main network input and wifi router (call it A).
However, we have another wifi router (call it B) which is fed from A via a cable. I cannot figure out how to change B's wifi channel. Therefore I worry if we have only switched A, since A feeds B (as well as the 2 microcells) they will all still be on the same channel and therefore still interfering with each other.
I have tried www.routerlogin.net (and .com) as written on my netgear router and I get "http://searchassist.verizon.com/" telling me "Sorry, We could not find www.routerlogin.net". I have also tried logging into wifi router B via all the 192.168.1.X addresses I see listed on the Verzion account when I log in via 192.168.1.1 (in total I tried all the 192.168.1.[1-24] options).
    Thanks for the help!

  • My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks.

My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks. I have to re-establish the connection but sometimes it would take too long for the Internet to be connected. I'm using a wireless connection

just browsing around I found this question. Also on my mini retina I fight with this problem. After a lot of searching I found that the only solution is to switch to
Airplane Mode, wait few seconds and switch again.
Or, if you are lucky, to find a Genius who replaces your unit. Cheers

  • How to solve poor internet connection for iPad New due to bugs or glitch in ios6

I m using iPad New with ios6 version. Since the upgrade I m facing a very serious internet connection for my ipad. Its worthless to have ipad when there is no internet connection or having difficulty to get the connection. Can someone give me some advice even up to the stage if downgrading to the previous version which is known to be working very well.

First, presumably your WiFi network is connected to the Internet right? However, even if so, you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Ipad loses internest connection randomly

I randomly lose internet connection.  I am connected and working away and then all of a sudden I get the message i lost internet and i have to go turn off the wi-fi and then turn it on again for it to connect again.  Sometimes it will take several times.  There is more than one ipad in the house and everyone of them have this problem.  Any ideas of what is happening?  Any help will be appreciated.
    Hugs

There are a few things that you can try.
Update the firmware on your router.
Change the channel on the router (online) to a lower number (iPad seems to like single digits)
You have to many devices on the network for your router to handle.  Check the router's information to see how many devices it can handle.  Count your wifi enabled gadgets.  Don't forget, game consoles, cell phones, streaming players, laptops as well as tablets and MP3 players that use wifi.
If your modem and router are a few years old, they may be doing the slow dance of death.  If a router and/or modem works intermittently and the failures become more frequent, it may be on the way out.

  • All devices on network lose internet connection when Dell laptop connected

I have successfully setup my AEBS network and am using two wireless clients--HP printer and Xbox access point (both 802.11 G) and a wired iMac that also is connected via Airport (so I can move it around if i want). I tried connecting my Dell Latitude D830 wirelessly and within a few minutes of connecting the AEBS loses internet connectivity. Unplugging and restarting the AEBS restores the internet but it just drops off again in less than 10 minutes. My question is, what might be causing this and what can I do about it? One peculiar thing to me is that I am using the WEP security option since the Xbox doesn't seem to support WAP2. When connecting the Xbox it reports the network as WEP but the HP printer and Dell Laptop but suggested the network was indeed WAP even though I'm clearing using WEP security. Maybe it's nothing but wanted to add for completeness.
The Dell is running Vista Enterprise edition.
    Thanks for any help.

I've noticed a similar issue. Any time my HP/Vista laptop is connected to my AEBS it loses the network connection at inconsistant time intervals(~10-15 min).

  • Apple TV2 & IPad Without Internet Connection

Because I have 10 computers in my office, I don't subscribe to the internet at home. However, I would like to know if I purchase a new Apple TV 2nd Generation and use my I pad to stream movies from netflix to the Apple TV, will it show up on my 50 inch TV by using a HDMI connection from the Apple TV to the 50 inch?

The Apple Tv has Nexflix built in.
    http://www.apple.com/appletv/
You don't need an iPad to do this.... But, you need an Internet connection for Netfilx to work. You don't need an Internet connection to stream videos from the iPad to the Apple Tv. You could bypass the Apple Tv and hook the iPad directly to the Tv to play videos...

  • My WRT54G v5 router loses internet connection frequently

My WRT54G v5 router loses internet connection frequently. Sometimes occurs when you enter a web or sometimes every few minutes, but without a pattern. I have W XP Pro with SP3 and I have a pc wired to the router and sometimes 2 notebook with Wi-Fi. What could be the problem?. Thank you very much.

I have upgraded the firmware to v 1.02.8 and reduced the MTU to 1350 but after a few minutes of doing that I had the same problem... The router reboots itself, again and again and again...
It's possible to run some diagnostic utility that somebody can check ??
It's possible it would be a router failure ??
I note that sometimes is ok and when Entering some web pages the router reboots itself and I loose my internet connection, but others, the router reboots for no apparent reason...
I dont know what to do...
