Im having the same problem, but im not in US. My mobile company told me they will check the phone and return it in 5 days; but ive been reading different reviews and people who had the same problem got new iphone from apple. Dont know what to do! i take care of my iphone a lot and dont know what its going on!!

It means you should take it to the Genius Bar. You will no doubt need to buy an out of warranty replacement.

HT4623 I tried to run the new update on my phone and the screen went blank and now the only thing showing is the itunes symbol on the screen with a picture of a charger below that, it wont reset or turn off

Not sure if this helps you, but I had the same issue. I inadvertently must have chosen a filter instead of none. Once I went and fixed this, my pictures were in my roll and I could see them. Hope this helps. I think you should be able to pick a filter and take a picture, but it worked for my phone.

Plug it into the charger/wall socket and let it charge for at least an hour. It just might start charging. If you have already tried charging it for a fair amount of time and it didn't work, try restoring the device with iTunes.

You have a hardware problem and you should take it into a apple store to be looked at and fixed.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

Try to reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
