I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

I plugged my ipod nano 6th gen in to the latest version of itunes today and as soon as i plugged it it it turned on automatically as it should when i came back to it 5 mins later, picked it up and it felt warm and it wouldnt turn on. what should i do?
I have the same problem and can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I rebuilt my iTunes library and still my 6G nano crahes whenever I load an AAC tune onto it. MP3s and podcasts all work fine, it's just the AACs...
Just *loading* an AAC song will cause the Nano 6G to reboot as soon as it disconnects from Itunes. It will then reboot a few times and then go into recovery mode. :-(

My 4th gen Ipod nano keeps getting stuck on the apple logo.
My 4th gen Ipod Nano keeps getting stuck on the Apple logo screen, this happens everytime I plug it in to charge. I plug it in, an apple logo comes up, and it stays like that the entire time its plugged in. To get it to unfreeze, i have to press random buttons and unplug and re plug in earbuds. After 20-25min of doing this it unfreezes and I come to find it has gotten little to no charge after being plugged in for hours at a time. Any one else have this problem, and if so what do you do?
This can be a corrupted software/firmware on your iPod touch. If the recovery mode you did was not forced, then try to force it into recovery mode. This is how:
1. Force it to shut down (note: this sort of shut down should not be preformed unless you are in a situation like this because it is a hardware shutdown and will not attempt to unload software, save unsaved files, safely stop system processes, etc.) to do this, hold down the power/sleep button and home button for about 7 or 10 secs. Also I might be incorrect but I heard that you can just hold down the sleep and home button until the screen goes blank and then immediately let go.
2. Have iTunes running. Hold down the home button and plug the USB cable that came with your iPod into it. Keep on holding on the home button until a picture of a USB cable going into the iTunes logo appears. You are now in a forced recovery mode. (In case your not so tech-savvy forced recovery is the same as a normal recovery mode that an iPod might do if it knows an update or restore failed.)
3. iTunes should have shown a pop-up message about it found a iPod in recovery mode. Click OK, click your iPod from the sidebar and click restore. The iPod will show the apple logo for a while and iTunes will say "preparing iPod for restore" and then "waiting for iPod" this was the longest part of updates for me.
4. iPod will reboot when restore is completed. When I update my iPod it one time showed the apple logo for one whole sync until it showed the slide to unlock screen, so do not worry. P.S if that does not work do a DFU mode restore ( I've been told DFU mode stands for device firmware update mode) I'm running out of room, so google it. Hope this helped ;) -
My iPod itouch when plugged into computer just flashes the apple logo otherwise it just won't start. Try to reset -nothing.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod nano 2nd gen is showing the apple?support sceen...What do i do?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -

New iPod Nano 6th generation just got it going today. It is fully charged but shuts off a few seconds into a song, what do I do?
I received mine yesterday as replacement for 1st generation and yes I had exactly the same problem.
I don't think it is anything to do with headphone plug [jack].
I played around with the settings and have just managed to listen to three hours without problem.
Music settings; shake to shuttle off, sound check off, double click - play/pause, audio cross fade and group compilation on. Can't be all these but trial and error as to which one - unfortunately it came without instructions.
The only other thing was that I had it in pocket while i was moving whereas yesterday I was sat at desk with nano at rest.

My ipod nano 6th gen just blinking
my ipod nano 6th gen is completely dead, i charged it in but now it doesn't stop blinking and it is all it does..
Hello Joey,
I would be concerned too if my iPod nano was not powering on completely. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on or screen remains dark
Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting the device while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
I got this information from the following article:

Additionally, I recommend reviewing this article for steps to take when your iPod is not recognized in iTunes:

Ipod nano 4th generation switches between the Apple logo and the menu
I have a 4th generation 8 g iPod Nano that probably has about 1 hour of use since my wife won it in a raffle over a year ago. When I went to recharge it yesterday, the only thing that happens is that the display, when connected to the computer, flips back and forth between the Apple logo and the menu screen. Whenever either one of them appears, it will disappear in a few seconds, then repeat the sequence. I have done a reset and restore, and installed the latest software version but the same thing happens over and over again. If the iPod is detached from the computer, ie, its power source, NOTHING happens on the display. It black and you can't get it to show anything. My theory was that the battery needed to be replaced even though it wasn't used much in the year since she got it. In fact. the absence of use and recharging it and discharging it may have lead to this problem in the first place. However, my one issue with that theory is that, when connected to a power source, like the computer, I would think I could get it to function normally, which I can't. I was able to get to the "service menu" which won't disappear when I move about different choices, as long as its connected to the computer. Again I can get nothing if its not connected to a power source.. does anyone think that this problem could be solved by replacing the battery or does it seem like that is only part of the problem? Thanks for any help and suggestions you may have to offer.
GeoffDespite the Nano only being used for an hour or so, the battery needed to be replaced= problem solved!!

so when i turn of my ipod its always stuck on the apple logo.Ive tried disk mode and it still doesnt work. Also it isnt reconized on itunes so i need help badly
Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

im assuming im going to just need to go to the apple store and get it fixed?
Was the iPhone factory unlocked?
If so then do a search of these forums for the fixes for Sim card errors; there are a few people with ideas on how to fix it.
If it was unlocked after you bought it, then you will not be able to update the software.
And it will have been Jail broken, which cannot be discussed on this forum. -
I listened to my ipod last night. My son went to get it and it has a white screen that states ok to disconnect (it is not connected to the computer). It won't let me do anyting to it. I tried to hook it up to the computer and it changes to do not disconnect and then won't let me eject it - it says sync is done but it says I can't disconnect because files are being used somewhere else. Then I pulled it out and it goes back to ok to disconnect.
Hope someone can help me.i sent mine off to craig at [email protected], it was £25.....like new again

So my phone won't turn on and when I plug it in it just flashs the apple logo
Anyone help me out. Oh I also already tried holding the power and home button and nothing.
Hello RyukBelmont
Try putting your iPhone in to recovery-mode and restore it to see if it comes back on. With your iPhone powered off, plug it into your computer and hold the Home Button, you will then see a Connect to iTunes icon and you will have the option to restore. It will erase all the data on your iPhone, but if you have a back up you can restore from it.
