Blessings to all it's my Leopard disc along with both box set Logic-Pro 7&8 got stolen, then to put Da butter on all this I tried a copied disk of Leopard and Bang! goes da macpro, not in sound As it won't boot! just makes a sound of air, and i am already in Cool/Jamaica and wonder where is the nearest Apple store not in J.A which could be of help.
So Where do I go from here? I had registered my sofware with Apple site Howevr in my case where do i get help in Cool Jamaica, anyone?

What program did you use to fix the internal hard drive? What repairs did it report making? More crucially, if repairs were reported, did you re-run the utility until it reported no problems found? It's possible for one set of problems with a drive to mask others.
If you have about 5GB or so free space on the internal hard drive, you can use your OS X Install disc to perform an Archive and Install to recover from the failed Software Update. When the computer restarts, download and run the OS X Update Combo 10.4.11 (Universal). When the Mac restarts after that, run Software Update. During all this, make sure nothing interrupts or shuts down the Mac! Note that the first start after each of these updates will take significantly longer than subsequent starts, so be very patient.
How did you back up your internal drive to the external one? Did you just drag things over in the Finder, or did you use a utility such as SuperDuper! or CarbonCopyCloner? Does the external HD show up as a bootable volume in System Preferences > Startup Disk, or using Startup Manager?

What I am saying is ..........
The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier
This is how O2 function and according to Gemma this is how Vodafone work

A "black list" is the term used for a carrier preventing a cell phone that is reported lost or stolen by the owner from being activated with the carrier. Yes it is a legiitimate thing that some carriers provide but not all. Contact Orange and inquire if they do.

To be sure, reset sync warnings. To do this, right->click the iPod under Devices and choose Reset Warnings. Then resync your iPod.

Importing a Box Set where same songs appear& desire to keep CD's seperate

Hi,
Title is a bit confusing (I am confused as well and have read I tunes help with out
success) I am using Itunes 7 (as I am running Panther OSX 10.3.9)
I bought a Box Set of music by the same artist (contains several CD's and also songs of
the same Title (but different version, live, mono, guest artist playing with etc) in the
past I have had the songs end up under each other (mono-stereo version of same song
or live version) How would I go about importing each CD so that each CD imports (with
song title) as a Individual CD , then go on to the next CD (where a duplicate song title
appears) I hope this makes sense, I do not make playlists, I click Import when the CD is
ready in the past (where the songs with same song title ended up (with song title)
under each other) it appears as if I imported the same CD x2 as one was a stereo
version and the other CD was the mono version (1967 release) The Stereo must have
been a remaster ? in 2007 in the one I have done (and on occasion I get a "orphan"
song even though it came from one CD (the rest appears under the artist, but one or
two (due to song title on a single CD) it ends up orphaned due to already imported CD
prior with same song title and artist. I do tend to buy Box sets of favorite artists (when I
can afford them) just can not figure out how to get the music in Itunes the way the CD
listings are) * Mono is interesting too when You can compare it to the same CD in
Stereo(*I hook Up a pair of powered speakers through a interface to get the mono
Version and seperation (what is coming out of the right speaker and left is so
interesting which (to me is quite interesting) Using what was avilable , two track and 4
track and then 8 track

I am trying to import a box set of music cds into my PC library and have them under one album listing. Currently, each disc is shown in library with its own album cover listing. I am trying disc 1, disc 2 & disc 3 contents listed under 1 library album.

Boxed set vs. downloads - which is preferable?

In general, are downloads preferred for any technical reason over having the boxed set of software mailed to you?

I prefer the boxed sets since that eliminates wasting resources (time, electricity, and bandwidth) DLing or re-DLing the stuff. Also, allows you to install w/o being tied to the Internet.

Does the retail / upgrade boxed set contain the update?

I very much doubt it - the boxed sets are always done in a large run, and a repress for an update is unlikely. Anyway, it's easy to tell; if you install the boxed product and it says 3.0.1 then it will be. But as I said, I rather doubt it...
