Hello all,
I have problem with my mac book pro first thing it was going dierctly to the mac os x Utilties then when I shut it down and turn it on it is just still loading in the
mac logo. I tried Command +R nothing happened can you please help me with this.

If you hold down the Option key when lauching your Mac, you should see your Macintosh HD in the list. Select the drive.
Either it's stuck in the wrong Startup Disk or you have issues with your current install of OS X. You might need to run Repair Drive and Repair permissions on the recovery drive. Then do a reinstall of OS X.

Hello,
I am trying to connect my laptop to my TV. The computer flashes blue after I plug the cable in but the TV says there is no signal.
I have a Mac Book Pro 2009 and a Samsung 32" Class (31.5" Diag.) 450 Series 720p LCD HDTV (2010 model).
I am using a mini display port to VGA adapter. I have sucessfully hooked up boh devices but it stopped working after a handful of times. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix the problem or is my cable broken?Some things you can try.

I want to transfer data from my old Mac book pro to my new one using migrate. The old computer doesn't have Thunderbolt 2 and the new one doesn't have Firewire 800. Does the Thunderbolt to Firewire or the Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter work to connect them and transfer data?

I just downloaded the new Mavericks operating sytem on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 17" 2.53GHz, Intel Core I5 machine. My IPhoto is no longer working at all, I'm getting an error message that says - "You Can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac". I also loaded Mavericks onto my other MacBook Pro 17", mid 2009 model and everything works fine. I would think that the newer Mac would easily work with IPhoto. Also, when I try to download from the App Store, it asks for my Apple ID and Password, I enter it, and then the little spinning color wheel just spins forever, with nothing ever happening. I tried downloading the IPhoto Upgrade but it never actually downloads, HELP!!!
What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5. It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

I have a Mac Pro using OSX 10.7.4. When using apple mail I click on the address icon to obtain email address and nothing happens. I've restarted both the application and the Mac but still won't open address book. Any ideas please.
Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account. -
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premier 10 loaded on a Dell PC. Do I need to uninstall from the Dell before I install on a recently purchased Apple Mac Pro? There are separate disks for Mac and PC in the package.
Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

Hi, the last install dvd that came out for mac's was Snow Leopard,10.6.3. Lion is a download from apple. You cannot just install it over Yosemite. You would have to backup your drive to save files you want and do a clean install. You might want to look into getting more memory. I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows. I upgraded to Lion and now the mac side crashes/freezes periodically, especially iphoto. I am told by the genius' that I probably need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the "recovery drive" which resets everything back to default and reinstalls the lion operating system. My question is will this also delete the "windows" partition drive and all that data too. If so that will be a huge pain in the ___ to back up and reinstall boot camp and windows. I want to shoot the lion.
There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that. -
I have downloades Logic Pro 9 onto my older modfel Mac Book Pro 1,1 with OS 10.6.8 and 2 GB RAM, according to the rquirements for Logic 9. the program should run on OS 10.6.8. with 2 GB RAM, 4 GB better, but it won't open. Is my configutation too slow?
Looks as if you're just at the minimum specs - http://www.apple.com/logicpro/specs/. Says 2GB minimum, 4GB recommended. And 2GB of RAM is all the RAM the 1,1 can handle. If I were you I would call Apple's App Store service center - you have the minimum requirements, as I read it, but perhaps you need a faster processor?
I had a 1,1 but sold it when I bought my late 2011 in March of this year - maybe it's time to look at a new machine?

I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html -

Is the corsair DDR3 16GB 1333 SO-D KIT compatible with the Mac Book pro 2010?
I'm upgrading my Mac book pro 2010 and was wandering if this ram works. I already tried the PNY 8gb ram, but snow leopard wouldn't install with it.
I'm pretty sure it can take 16GB fine, after all Apple has said up to this day that non-Retina Macs can't do so much RAM yet here we are, a whole bunch of happy 16GB users (hint: my Mac is carring the Corsair CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9 kit).
However, stedman is right. Your Mac uses 1066MHz RAM, the 1333 MHz RAM is for 2011 models. -
Hi I have only 2 days in USA to buy Mac Book Pro 13" with Retina display. The issue here is that I'd like to get the westerns spanish keyboard and at the apple store the guy said it will take 6 days. I have an Apple MacBook Pro 1,1 Mac OS X 10.6.8. I have tried to load Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4LE.
It would not load and said the following. System extension cannot be used.
The system extension "/system/library/Extensions/AppleUSBthernetHost.text" was installed improperly and cannot be used.
Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product vendor for an update.
I do not have a copy of the OS X 10.6.8 software. It is second hand so I have no product vendor to contact.
What can I do?You recently updated iTunes to v.11.4? This message has popped up on many a Mac screen when this version was first made available, because this kext was obviously faulty.
You should try to download iTunes 11.4 again from Apple's website: the new version bears the same name, but this kernel extension has been updated, and the issues it was causing are now a thing of the past.

Mac Book Pro with OS X Mountain Lion will not recognize headset mic via Rosetta Stone software. What should I do?

I am using version 3. I have used the apple/settings on my mac. The headset is appearing there and it is selected there. In the Rosetta Stone select/find window nothing shows up. It is blank. But the volume bars react when I speak and sliding the fader has the expected effect of raising and lowering the input. There is just no device showing up as the selected input device in the Rosetta Stone software.
I have done everything my Mac instructions say to uninstall and reinstall the Rosetta Stone software properly.
I'm guessing the problem may be in the licensing. I installed it first on the old hard drive that crashed. Maybe that used the terms of the license and now installing it in the new hard drive violates the license somehow. So that's why it will not work properly. It allows me to open the lessons and asks me if I want to continue from where I left off. I click continue. Then it asks me if I want to register the software. I click the tab for already registered software and click continue. Then nothing happens. So again I click on the button that indicates I want to continue lessons from where I left off. The same process happens with it asking me if I want to register the software. And it will not proceed through a lesson.
