My neighbor gets service and AT&T cancels my account!

  Extraordinarily long story (15+ hours phone time). So, here's the quick version. ATT changed my service address at some point to my neighbors address. Billing address is of course correct as I had service at my address for years. Found this out the hard way. New neighbors move in, and order Uverse. ATT calls me and asks if it's OK that they get service? I say sure thats OK. (this is not unusual as I am a landlord and receive calls from different providers often) She didn't at any time say that she was preparing to cut my service off or ask for that freaking PASSWORD that when you call in must be given numerous times. If she asked for that , then it would've raised an eyebrow. (created suspicion) So, when my Internet quit working an hour after the call, I called ATT.... they have cancelled my account and  there's no way to turn it back on! They have to treat me as a new customer, new account and get a new receiver, new modem and wait for an installer. It took many hours of my time dealing with this fiasco and time from work. That, guess what ATT? I need to work to pay my bill! And whats just utterly ASTOUNDING: in one of my numerous phone calls to ATT the rep actually FELL ASLEEP AND WAS SNORING LOUDLY! After I asked if he was sleeping for the SECOND time (the first time he continued as nothing happened) he hung up on me and I had to start the AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM gauntlet once more! After I had mine working again,  ATT installed my neighbor's service and TURNED MINE OFF AGAIN! Which then caused me to enter into the dreaded  AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM  once more. I think I had a panic attack and banged my head on the ceiling but anyway I remember coming to while pressing my account number into my ATT cell phone. Finally it's back on in an hour or so. Now I think most of the problems are about over, I had to call to get another remote because when a key was depressed it caused it to be pressed numerous times.  After another bout with the automated phone system and several more people I was to receive another remote . The remote I received has the same problem, just not as bad. SO today, what prompted this forum post was I received my final bill from my previous account and simply wanted my credit balance moved to my current account. Nope that can't be done, has to mail me a check. What has happened to ATT and their customer service? This has got to be without doubt the worst experience I've had with any service provider ever!  Or, maybe there's a more sinister reason behind the need to change my equipment and account as well as of course my IP? I will never know? I'm really just overwhelmingly confused about this and why it even occurred the way it did. If moving were an option I would consider that to go to an alternate service provider. But alas, I am stuck. Bottom line: don't expect ATT contractors especially in other countries to give one rat poop whether you have service or not. The only thing they're concerned about is you paying your bill. But one thing's for sure, if you want "hi-speed" Internet and you live in certain areas you are stuck. And they know it! Come on AT&T, with the amount of money we pay you, can't you hire some(more) decent empolyees?Or at least some that will tell they are going to turn off/cancel your account, and most of all NOT FALL ASLEEP AND SNORE during a call?   

That is interesting, because I did have an account at the new address.  My issue is, if this is such a Holy rule, why would ATT be the one to tell me to break their own rules.  I told them from the worg Go, that this wouldtake several months before we were in the house.  I got billed and ATT people came out and everything.  So what you are saying is, even though I specifically told ATT that I sold the house and purchdased a new house, and that they said it had Uverse service and they told me to hold on to the equipment, even though they new it may be several months before I could get into the house, and they knew the terms of the agreement when they continued to rechedule the install, when they knew it could be several months, when they knew I didn't know that my account was being canceled, but didn't let me know, they knew all of that and still told me to hold on?  That is crazy!  Now, it's my fault for selling my house and trying to keep ATT, when I would have gladly canceled it then, except for the fact ATT told me not to!  So why would they continue keeping my old address on an account when I no longer lived there, and I was being billed at my new address, which they claim wasn't my address that I was still at the old address.  The fact that my equipment is locked up in a storage facility carries little weight, especially, when it's there because ATT told me to hang on to it.  I understand, about returning equipment if I cancel my account, but that make little sense when ATT cancels it because I moved, but they have this whole group of people that help you Transfer your account because they want to keep you as a customer, but then there is this other group whom cares little if you stay and cancels you because I sold my house?  Someone should get these two groups together and have a pow-wow.   Anyway, when I was just starting to think ATT had their act together, they once again, prove me wrong.  I would have gladly terminated my account and returned the equipment had I know this.  You see I was trying to be fair and keep my service with ATT and do things right and proper, but there is no Right and Proper with ATT.  Anyway, I guess they will do what they will do, but I will not unload a housefull of furnishings and personal items just to locate that equipment.  I'll be glad to return it when I do unload it, unless they have chatrged me for it.  Just send the bill to the address you have the service listed at and it will be taken care of.  Do not send it to the new address, becuase ATT doesn't recognize it.  Send the bill to the address you have canceled.  Comcast here I come!  ATT doesn't want me anymore.  I feel silly trying to verbalize this madness.  Very good ATT, I get it you dislike customers.

    Can somebody tell me how on earth I cancel my Creative Cloud single-app membership for Illustrator (one year with monthly payments). I no longer use Illustrator. It is not possible to cancel online, at least not on the Danish site. I'm told to contact customer service. There are two possibilities for contacting customer service: Telephone, but I'm not willing to pay for a call from Europe to (I assume) the West coast of the US. Or Live Chat, which despite repeated attempts yesterday and today simply does not work - I get no response, the app just times out after a minute or so.
    At the moment I see only one possiblity to stop Adobe taking money from me for the rest of my life. I'll have to block my credit card and start some chargebacks. Ridiculous.

    My old computer died and with it my access to my iTunes account.  (Yes, I know that I should have backed it up, but that ship sailed.)
    Now I have music and pictures on my iPod classic that I would like to get off and up onto an iTunes account and presumably the iCloud.
    What do I do?

    Your only other option is to go to a friend or family member's house and use their pc to backup your music and photos. Your final option would be to go to the library or save for a reliable computer. Sorry, there's no fun way out of that situation.

  • Not getting updates and horrible customer service

    I ordered service on 3/26 for 3-bureau monitoring service and received my report and scores. Since then, I've had 2 major things happen to my credit reports. A 90% UTI credit card (nearly 4k) was paid off, and posted to all 3 of my credit reports as $0 balance, and a collection has fallen off of my Transunion report. I have confirmed on all of reports that the events took place through fresh credit pulls from other means.  I call up today to find out why my I'm not being alerted to the changes and the customer service agent said that she doesn't know when alerts are suppose to happen. She then said I don't get them right away and I have to wait a few days for them to pop up, and I have to wait until the credit bureaus send the information to myFico before I'm alerted and it could take days. This doesn't make sense, the point of alerts is to notify me immediately when a change occurs so that I can take corrective action if something's wrong with my report and to keep up with my scores. This is the way it worked when I paid for SW a couple years ago. I purchased this so as I apply for some loans with HPs and pay off my bills I can keep track of my score and be notified when the HPs happen and keep an eye out for identity theft. Obviously according the customer service agent, this is not how the system works, so I'm lost at why I would pay $25/mo for the service. Additionally, the customer service agent was rude and unprofessional, has no clue how the system works, and is a detriment to your company. I cancelled my account, and she made it well known that she was perfectly fine with that. Apparently, you guys don't want my business.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
    Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
    To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
    Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

    Until your account/line is paid in full, the phone that is associated with that number will be unavailable to be used on any other line.  What MIGHT work (and I don't know if it will or not) is to activate another phone on your line (any Verizon contract phone not active on another line, if you happen to have an older unused one.)  Then the deactivated one you want to give to your family member will no longer be activated or associated with your number.
    This may or may not work, due to the fact there is a past due balance on the account and you have also cancelled the line - you may not be able to activate a different phone in this circumstance, so the current phone will not be "released" until the account is settled.

    According to the AT&T Wireless web site, you can manage your iPad data plan either from the iPad, or by using a web browser:
    From the website
    Log in to your account at att.com/iPadlanding using the email address and password you used during activation.
    Your account information will display. Select the desired account change option then tap Next.
    Read the Terms of Service, and then tap Accept.
    Review the Payment Summary to ensure the details are correct. Use the Back button if changes are required, otherwise tap Submit.
    Read the Confirmation message then tap OK.

    We have configured SharePoint 2013 with Excel Service and OWA (Office Web Apps).
    After configuring, we are able to view/edit Word or PowerPoint documents from the browser (as OWA is configured). But we are getting errors while trying to open/edit Excel documents.
    We are not able to view/edit the excel workbook from the browser (through OWA).
    To open the excel in the browser, decision has to be taken at the farm level on what to be used – Excel Service or OWA Server? Is it possible to do setting at site collection level?

The price for Downloads is no different and even if it was I am happy to pay. This also applies to Movie rental which is crazy and extremely restrictive. I a supposed GLOBAL community why does Apple do this.

    You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence (As proven by valid billing address of credit card) and ONLY while inside the borders of that country.
    These are the terms of the itunes store.

    Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
    Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
    After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.

  • How to get a DDE advise link working on a DDE server with more than one topic on the same service, and with an equal item name?

    When I create a DDE server with serveral topics, all on the same service and with the same item name (different topic), it appears that an advise link does not function properly. It doesn't work at all, it update only when the advise link is terminated or only one of the topics can use an advise link.
    eg.
    On one DDE server I have 2 topics:
    topic1:
    servicename: DDEserver
    topicname : C(1)
    itemnames : P(1), P(2), P(3)
    topic2:
    servicename: DDEserver
    topicname : C(2)
    itemnames : P(1), P(2), P(3)
    Only the topicnames differ!
    Now I can't get an advise link working on one of the items (sometimes on one, but not
    on another).
    Normal (non-advise) links are working fine however.
    (In my case there is no other solution since this DDEserver should be compatible with an older one, created earlier.)

    I really don't know DDE very well. It is usually recommended that you switch to using ActiveX. You may not be correctly configuring the netDDE server. There is an example in the reource library that shows how to do this. You may also want to look at the DDE advise examples that came with LabVIEW 5.1 and earlier.

    HI all just to let you know I have been with bt ( all 3 packages vision, broadband option 3 and telephone + the £5 each month free calls )
    Until they tried to put all of the bills together all was fine I got all bills and went online to pay instant with card and or part direct debit for 2 of the 3 accounts. ) all no problems.
    UNTIL!!!!!!
    the change over back in July 2010.
    After a 1.5 hours repetitive conversation with customer service ( and yes they where english speaking ) we are astill no where.
    they now say that my bt broadband has a different account and has been sent to my landlord ( as he had to call them 3 yrs ago to get a line put in to my rent place)
    any way the only problem is my broadband bill. I have not received any bill paper or email from July 2010 at ALL!!
    I still get the bills for vision and telephone all in my name and gets paid direct debit I have no problems with those 2 its the broadband bill
    Only to find last night my landlord came round irate that bt had cut him off because my broadband bill was not paid and he said its not his its mine ( this was lets say a slight confrontation with me and landlord) BT muck up again !!!!
    Next I call today to speak to Customer service only for them to keep repeating that there is nothing they can do its in the landlords name.
    I say I'm not bothered I just want to know why I was getting all bills and paying for them ON TIME until July 2010.
    They then say they need to change the account holder to my name and I say but your sending me online email bill and paper billing for my vision and telephone why have you stopped the broad band.
    Any way sorry for long story but I am seriously thinking of enough is enough now what with the first 18 months broad band connection problems ( exchange end had to re port 3 times their end) and 4 engineers. to get it sorted to now when BT change all account into one for this to happen.
    LISTEN BT  ITs now become a personal confrontational matter ( my landlord coming round)
    ITS your problem your end GET it sorted.
    If my only advice to anyone with BT
    1GET account in your name same address if possible.
    2. make sure BT know your mobile, and email addresses. double check each year when you renew contracts
    3. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN , name, time date who spoke to.

    also sent email to adam lee yesterday about this whole thing. Adam lee was who my landlord spoke to about the whole thing and so I think he deducted the wrong billing of my broadband to his account.

    when I check my online statements it shows all 3 accounts yet BT customer service say my broadband account has been disconnected??  DUHHHH im using it now !!
    and funny thing is  how can you pay a bill if the broadband says your bill is uptodate your next bill is due 16th October 2010 ( YES 2010 ..LOL)

    I totally agree as I run my own facebook custom fanpage design and webhosting so I know how customers what to be treated Key 1 I learnt is always listen and repeat back their question. and 2 solve the problem. 3 revert back to no: 1
    UPDATE: just spoke to another customer service person called KAREN. Now this is not a name and shame in fact I have include her name as she sorted this all out in 30 mins totally understood and has 75% solved problem while on the phone. The other 25% is down to waiting to activation of a move over of the error of bt putting my broadband account under my landlords account ( different address ). Why the other CS couldn't do this I don't know.
