My sound isnt clear anymore!

I have a I-pod shuffle 1GB. Recently I was listening to some music and the sound started only playing on one side. I disconnected the earphones and reconnected and it went back to normal. Then the next day it did it again. After a while, I started hearing sound only from one side. I switched earphones and it did the same thing. So I am positive that the I-pod is defective.
I got it as a present and I dont have the receipt. What do I do? Im a bit skeptical about the whole giving my credit card number and you will send me a new one if I send mine with-in 10 days, and if I dont you charge me 149$. When will I be able to get this I-Pod?

I have exactly the same problem, and i logged the problem with the apple returns online service. On the form i filled in what the problem was, and lsited the problem in detail. Then a few days later i recieved a new USB dock in the post???
Im not sure why, as ive not even got a dock, let a faulty one. Now i have come round to logging the problem again, so that i can get it fixed, and i have realized that i filled in the wrong form last time. I filled in a faulty part form, as i presumed that the faulty part was the connector at the top of my shuffle.
Now that i have come to fix this, my warrantly has expired today!! Although the date that the warranty expires is the 22nd of march, which is today?
Am i still covered, seen as its still the 22nd, and more importantly, i logged the problem nearly a month ago. Even tho i filled in the wrong form i clearly stated what the problem was. This cannot have even been read. Where do i stand?
I have filled in the repair service for again (the right one this time), and its claims that i am out of warranty and need to send proof that i am not. I still have the original repair ID and case number if that is any help??!

  • I have adobe reader 11 and it isnt working anymore

    I have windows 7 and my adobe reader isnt working anymore now that I have upgraded to the latest version. It opens the PDF up and then times out and says there is a error and the program is closing! I have tried repairing it and uninstalling it and then reinstalling it several times.....and nothing works. Please help.

  • I took my Pavilion dv6000 apart and now the sound isnt working

    So here is the situation...
    My fan has been making noise so I wanted to clean out all the dust from inside my Pavilion dv6000. (But that isn't what i need help with right now.) So after I took it all apart and put it back together, I had this problem with turning the computer on. I think it had to do with this little ribbon cable that wasn't going in the spot where it had to be (it was connected to the power button chip.) I finally got that ribbon where it was suppose to be, and tried to turn it on. It still didnt start. The battery light would go on when it was plugged in, but nothing happened when I pushed the power button. I finally decided to give up and clean the finger prints off of it so I could bring it to my IT teacher tomorrow. While cleaning it, it all of a sudden turned on. I dont know what happened. It just turned on by itself. I mean, I could have pushed something while cleaning it, or maybe something was loose and tightened while i was cleaning it. But anyway, I finally got it to turn on. Now while doing homework, I notice the sound isnt working. I really dont want to take it apart if i dont have to becuase this is the last week of school and I need these practice tests that I put on my computer. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to possibly fix my audio without taking it apart. I was thinking if i check for the latest driver maybe that would help, but i have the latest driver and the sound still doesnt work. So does anyone know how I can fix this without taking it apart? If not does anyone know how I can fix it if i do take it apart? (for example, things to check to make sure they are connected or tightened?)

    Ok so I've been doing more testing. It's all videos on the iTunes store. Anytime I try to download a podcast or stream it or anything it's super slow. To download an episode of Diggnation it tells me over 2 hours to download but the time keeps climbing and I just stop the transfer.
    Some people said it's an Open DNS thing? Maybe it is but it's not computer specific and I couldn't find a way to change the DNS settings in my Airport, only on each computer. I tried deleting PLists and restoring my Apple TV and restoring my Airport and nothing is working.
    I don't know if it an issue with me, my ISP or Apple. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

    Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
        Highlight  Internal Speakers / Headphones
        Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
    2. Remove the headphone.
        If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
        in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
        Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

        Choose the method for:
        "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".

  • Everything I export to Quicktime doesn't look clear anymore....

    Just recently upgrade to Leopard and did a Erase and Install. Then I installed Final Cut Studio 2.
    Before this upgrade, I would make my text titles in Motion. Bring in the Motion project and put it on the timeline. In FCP the text would look pixelated but after I exported to Quicktime and watched the quicktime movie everything was clear.
    Now, I still do the same thing. But my Quicktime Movies are not clear..... I mean the video is slightly blurry and the text is not clear.
    Do I need to change a setting in FCP, that I was not aware of, before I did a Clean Install?

    Hardly a stupid question. High Quality is only a playback setting (designed to conserve CPU resources) within QuickTime, it doesn't actually affect the source movie quality. The fuzziness you're seeing in iDVD is, most likely, related to the compression iDVD is using to make your DVD.
    As far as making your DVD, if you're using Final Cut Pro to edit with, then most likely you also have Compressor and DVD Studio Pro to compress and make DVD with. Though it all might seem intimidating at first, it's a much more adaptable workflow.
    To get to your question specifically, not wanting a menu in DVDSP is as simple as deleting the Menu from the Outline tab and setting your Track to First Play. (If that's Greek to you now, it won't be after a quick plunge into DVDSP.)

    The problem im having with my iPhone is that im not able to listen music anymore. My phone does play sounds, but only when docked or having my earphones plugged in.
    It does NOT work without earphones and the volume slider does not show up when playing music.
    However, it DOES make sounds when my alarm goes off or when im getting called, ringtones work fine too.
    Anyone knows what could be the issue?

    I had the same issue, after I made 2 changes in the iPad settings! (1) Side switch changed from mute to lock rotation! and (2) the auto lock changed from never to 10 minutes!. I changed these settings back to previous and cured the problem instantly, I then changed the auto lock time and have so far 2 weeks later had no issues. This seems to indicate a problem with the allocation program for the side button!

    I've exported my project in FCP as a multi track project. For some reason my dialogue on Track 1/2 sounds a bit more clear in FCP than STP. I'm assuming this is a level thing? Any ideas?

    It sounds like your microphone is having some problems.
    I suggest you take it back to the repair shop and tell them that the Microphone is not working fine.

  • OTA 5.1.1 gone wrong.  (no sound during calls anymore)

    A few days ago my wife applied IOS 5.1.1 (OTA) the update completed and the phone rebooted - after this all seemed fine.
    later that day she realized that her phone didn't get any audio anymore during phone calls.
    (people on the other side cannot hear anything and on her phone you cannot hear anything either.)
    It's great that the iPhone can do everything - but normal phone calls are still essential right
    All other audio operations are fine btw, voice recording/ speakers, music, face time  all work as normal.
    Although they do have different audio processors but still what is the chance of that breaking during/after the IOS upgrade.
    I already tried the following:
    - reset/restore to previous backup.  didn't work
    - downgraded the phone back to IOS 5.1 / setup as a new phone didn't work.
    - downloaded full IOS 5.1.1 and upgraded again, no fix.
    - reset to factory settings and setup as a new phone.
    The phone is now 1.5 years old and out of warranty.  (as usual)
    A call to apple support - We cannot do anything as it is out of warranty.  try restoring it ..  great!
    Now I accept it is out of warranty for real hardware faults, but it was working perfectly until Apple prompted/pushed me to update.
    (after which it rebooted and stopped working) 
    To me this seems like a software/firmware/hardware bug that is being exposed due to the update. 
    The phone has never been jail broken either.
    The fact that I see threads on the forum that are 170 pages long about similar audio issues doesn't fill me with confidence that apple will do the right thing and own up to the problem or fix/replace the phone.
