My very elderly disabled parents have been without...
My elderly parents live in a remote area of N Wales and have been without a phone for over 2 weeks. My mother is blind with dementia and relies on the phone for company from calls from friends and family my father being her main carer is also very hard of hearing and very frail with heart conditions . They have no means to phone anyone if anything happened to either of them. They are having to deal with extreme weather conditions as it is. I have had sleepless nights of worry. I do not want to list the lengthy chronological order of me and my sisters attempts to get BT to show some real customer care and priortise them, and the amount of time we have both spent waiting on the phone each time is ridiculous as you have to go through each proceeder again and again. All that has happened is the endless dates we keep being given for reconnection just keep getting bumped further along. I am now going to write to their local MP to highlight this case, as BT seem unable to appreciate the severity of their situation, and they do not seem to have a policy of re-connecting the vunerable ASAP. I appreciate weather conditions have been bad but my sister informed me that other services such as Scottish power were out at night in these conditions making sure their service was resumed as quickly as possible.

Does anyone at BT care that I have been without a ...
I reported a fault on my landline on 30th October. A appointment was booked and an engineer attended on 5th November. He tested the line, replaced all of the wiring from our primary socket to the pole outside our property but when it was connected said that the fault must be underground somewhere closer to the exchange and that he would have to refer the fault to a different team. He said that it would take a few days to get fixed. Since then I have been given the run around, possibly lied to and had the lifeline of call diversion removed without any warning. I have been told that there is no underground fault, another appointment to my property may be necessary, I may be charged for this even though all the set up inside was replaced by a bt engineer on 5th November and that BT are waiting for the Council to remove a tree. (But not where the tree is except it is not on my property) I have used the live chat room, spoken to operatives in India and been given no idea of when the problem will be fixed. I have written emails to set out the history. Is there anything else I should do to get this resolved. It is very frustrating to have to explain everything at length and use up my mobile credit when I am sure that the person at the other end has no idea what they are talking about, however pleaant they are. I am the primary carer for my 86 yearbold mother and she does not feel safe when she cannot reach me.

I have been without adequate reception for over a day now....
I feel that Verizon has made it very convenient that once a cell tower falls no one can get ahold of Verizon customer service. They only give phone numbers. Guess what Verizon I can't call you? I have been with them for 7 years and they have never treated me as a loyal customer and now this? At least contact me. I heard some people got e-mails. I hope you realize people are mad and deserve a refund. Or maybe you could give a better discount to your loyal customers on new phones. Right now I get the same deal as anyone who walked into your stores.

I have been completely Ripped off by these People and they do not care. None of them. I have spoke to multiple customer service reps on the phone. None of them gave a toss about me. They don't care. Spent hours on the phone to them being passed around and told the same lines over and over again which they are clearly reading from a script. Very annoyed.
Basically I moved house in december 2013 and arranged a move house package. was meant to be adtivated jan 6 2014. waited in all day and no one showed up. not even a phone call or anything. turned out the bt engineer didnt bother coming as the cables werent even laid yet by my house. (brand new housing estate). yet they never bothered to tell me this, they just let me wait inside like a complete idiot all day long. by now we have been without internet/phone since december 19th 2013. we were then told the cables were being laid the next wednesday.
when wednesday came they sent an email saying they had arranged our engineer visit and that we had to wait 7 days or something stupid as thats the time it takes when initiating a new order. even though our order was cancelled so i would have thought they'd have not made us wait the 7 days again. of course our internet did not arrive 7 days later as it turned out the engineer hadnt even put in a mastersocket or anything. NOTHING. no engineer came to our house at all at any time. we had no service until Jan 22nd the day they activated it at the exchange or whatever. Thats an entire MONTH with no service. oh and we still couldnt use it as none of the sockets had been wired to the master socket. it just had a plain blank socket on it. but hey it was active. so I rang up to order an infinity package (upgrade) and was promised the engineer would come and install our sockets and stuff. he finally arrived on Feb 11th.
Hurray we had service. Only about 7 weeks we waited. But then I rang up to ask about a refund on the bill since we had not used anything as it wasn't there AND it wasn't OUR fault. But this is when I was passed around like a parcel in a childrens game. No one cared. So I ended up paying £51 for NOTHING. Oh btw our bill is SUPPOSED to be £42 so I was charged extra actually. They refunded me the £10 extra and thought I should be grateful or something.
Would you like to pay £42 for nothinG? NO. Who would? Well I DID! But then the real joke arrived a few hours ago. I receive my next bill. £74. They are now toying with me. I have become a complete joke to them or something. It is absolutely pathetic. An extra £34. Why? I have no idea?????? I wish I knew why they were torturing me like this. Upon inspection of the bill it looks as though they have charged me for two packages in one month. the original broadband package AND the upgraded infinity package. (now the reason i started off with a lesser package was because it took a while for my brand new address to be recognised as available for infinity).
Anyway also on the bill they have added the £10 that I was supposedly REFUNDED last bill. NOPE. not refunded at all. instead they have carried it forward. here is the pasted quote:

I am being charged for 2 and a half packages or something.
My package should be £42. I am having a nightmare with this company. They don't care about me, they don't care at all. First charge me money for nothing, no apologies either, just backchat on the phone. And now they charge me £31 extra again for nothing. I am going to be BROKE when my next bill comes as thats probably going to be even bigger. They probably will double it or something just to be even more spiteful.

On the morning of a charity event that I was running for 350 inner school children my phone asked if I wanted to do an update. I clicked yes and life as I know it has changed. The whole charity event was messed up because I had everyone’s assignment in the phone and the lollipop update made it hard to navigate. One of many things that is wrong is everything I do, I get a pop up asking me if I want to use One Touch Wizard. No matter how many times I click always use one touch, I have to go through 2 extra steps for every move I want to make on the phone. I called Verizon and they stated that they are sending everyone new phones because this update was so bad. However, they cannot send me one because on day 3 after I bought the phone I dropped it and it has a tiny crack in the screen. This crack has never effected the phone and my problems are simply because of this update. In approximately 18 hours of tech support, I have been but on hold for 15 to 45 minutes at a time with no one coming back until I ultimately just gave up and hung up. Often I was promised a call back and it never happened once. Again, I had to call back and start all over. I would call back and have to start the support process all over again. Because of all of my time and the data I had to use for updates and such a Verizon rep gave me 1 gig of data per month for 12 months. I called another time and they said the rep was not authorized to do this because I was on a loyalty plan. So this means that when a Verizon rep tells a customer something you cannot believe it because they can take it back. The only reason I am on this plan is because I paid for several months while I had a non working phone. Verizon sent me 18 straight defective phones. They were deemed defective by the manufacturer. Verizon has no respect for all the time I wasted and I almost lost my job because of it. I now have a phone that is effecting my job and my life and Verizon wants me to pay for a new one. I feel that I am being strong armed and this is a principle thing for me. I decided to post here before I file reports with the BBB, Attorney General and the FCC. I look forward to Verizon’s reply. I have been having trouble with my iphone 4 for the past day . i tried to update it to 7.0.4 then the screen went blank and it keeps telling me to connect to itunes . I have connected it to 2 computers , using different cords and it doesnt recognize it . It says it is in recovery mode and i need to restore . after clicking restore it says that my iphone cannot be restored . I am very frustrated because i have been online searching for solutions all day and nothing seems to work . As soon as i turn on my phone it goes to the apple logo for about 2 seconds then the connect to itunes screen . SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ! my phone is my life and i need it back on .
Connect the device to iTunes and restore from the most current backup.
If the issue continues, restore as new. -
I have a photo with 25 faces. I have named 17 with no problem but the remaining 8 names I am unable to make them stick. I go through the process (have done it thousands of times) and no luck. I have shut down the computer, I have unplugged it, I have turned iPhoto off and nothing will allow me to name these remaining photos. I type in the name and click RETURN and the name holds, I close the photo and bring it back and the name is gone. I have done this dozen of times - still no luck. I have a few other photos of groups and the same thing is happening with just a few of the faces. All the faces are clear, same size and no different in clarity than the other faces. I have tried changing the size of the "box" around the photo to name it - still no luck.

I have been trying to update my cc info but for some reason it has kept saying the cc info did not match with the bank info so the transaction failed every time I made an attempt to download something even it was free. However, I saw my cc online got charged $1.00 everything I was trying to update my cc info ...why?

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio: Many issues I have been faci
Hello everyone. This is my first post at these forums, with the hopes of getting my issues resolved once and for all.
First and foremost, let me inform you that I have very high experience with computer hardware.
A couple weeks ago, I bought a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card from a local retailer. (Yes, I am aware that this is not an actual X-Fi card with the designated chip). I previously had an onboard sound solution on my motherboard, and uninstalled and removed all of the drivers COMPLETELY before I installed my new sound card. I then opened up my case, and continued with the installation of the card. After I had downloaded and installed all of the latest drivers, I immediately started to notice issues with the card. My MAIN problem is that if I have a specific application open, whatever it may be, one of my headphones, either left or right, will stop producing sound, and then is followed by the second one, which leaves me with no sound output at all. If I restart the application, the problem is temporarily fixed, but then comes back again within a few minutes.
This is VERY irritating to me, seeing as I originally thought the problem was not with the sound card. Believe it or not, I reinstalled my copy of windows over 5 times throughout the course of the last few weeks in hopes of finally fixing the issue. And here I am, on a brand new installation of windows, and the problem STILL persists.
I can assure you all of my hardware is functioning correctly as I have tried 2 other sound cards which have not had any issues like this whatsoever.
Yes, I have read the FAQ, but I couldn't seem to find the solution to my issue there, which is why I am posting it here. Sorry if I sound irritated, but this has bothered me very much and I have been starting to lose a lot of hope in Creative...

Cannot access yahoo email account when I have been able for 6 years.
I am unable to log into my yahoo email account on my Mac OS X. This is very sudden. I have been able to for 6 years. I CAN access on a PC. I have never had this problem. I have never set up the mail program on Mac OS X.
No, it will not affect anything but Safari. I do this regularly anyway (in my case with Firefox because I prefer it over Safari). The cache remembers websites you've visited and, when internet connections were slow, then that was handy because the browser would reload the page from memory instead of reloading it fresh. With faster internet connections today, it is no longer of the same importance - it does speed up things a bit initially, but I haven't noticed any difference. Cookies are set by every site you visit - the only ones you might want to keep are cookies from your bank, financial institution, etc so they remember your machine when you log in. Other than that, they are a marketing tool and completely superfluous. And history is again something the computer remembers that you've visited a site before.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Error message: "Warning: unresponsive script". Afterward, the system freezes and will then crash. Crash reports have been submitted many, many times without response. I have tried the fore-mentioned solutions with either no results or very bad results which I filed a report but did not receive an answer. The application to block scripts actually worsened the problem and I could not correct the situation for a while (no response from Firefox, at all). I have also been through this procedure without any one contacting me, AT ALL.

Is it possible to disable the popup that appears after closing the browser window, without having to tick the checkbox, once online commenting is complete.
The popup starts with "Your changes have been uploaded to the server".
However, my write function only does a "write" if certain conditions have been met. I have been trying to restore my ipad mini, my daughter disabled it and she hasn't updated it, so I understand that it has to go in recovery mode and I will loose everything, but I have been trying and have tried on two different computers, it starts and then half way through it says there was a error restoring. Hello, I am getting a Kern Protection failure error message when trying to start up my Olympus DSS Player dictation software. I have been using the software without issue for years until last month. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and don't recall installing any new software before the issue began.
