My web brower is not supported???

I work from home and am a first time Mac owner. One of the companies I work with has an online rating system I need to use on a regular basis. I tried to get into today for the first time and it says my web brower is not supported. I called them and they said I have to have microsoft internet 5 or higher. I called Mac and they suggested downloading Firefox or Netscape. I tried both and it still doesn't work.
Any suggestions? Can someone help me PLEASE??
Thanks

Hi Karen,
Welcome to  Discussions and Mac Computing
Web pages are coded in a variety of ways, some unfortunately which are not compatible with the Mac Platform. This "old style" coding usually uses some form of proprietary code (usually Microsoft).
Since you have an Intel machine, you can install Windows XP or Vista (I suggest you stay away from the latter) on your machine. That would allow you to use Internet Explorer 7. You'll need the Windows installer disks to do so, and will require either or a new software package called Parallels. The former is free (at least for the moment); the latter is not.
Since you are new to the Mac platform, a good way to familiarize yourself with OS X is to pick up a copy of Scott Kelby's book OS X Tiger: Killer Tips.

  • Why do I get this message when I try to play a song "The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

I downloaded songs from a cd and when I try to play them with windows media player I get this message The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.
To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page."

Did you copy the songs directly from a CD or did you download the files from a website?
You can use a different player than the Windows Media Player to play the songs if you copied them from a CD to avoid that.

Thank's Shay. I'm thinking that the problem is about NWDS for this reason: at the moment i am testing a standard web service present on WAS( http://serverWAS:53000/IciUserService/IciUserConf?wsdl)that with a method ( getAttributes) that return an array of classes on VC and this test is ok.
So i'm creating an similar web service that return array of classes with my NWDS (vers. 7.0.7..) and wizard but on VC it's don't supported.
The SOAP Response of standard web service and my web service, have different structure. I'm thinking that the problem is NWDS because the SOAP response is function of the WSDL generated by Wizard on NWDS.
    Thank's in advance.

  • My web host does not support the latest Firefox upgrade yet. How do I rollback the upgrade until they do?

Certain functions of their web hosting features will not work with the recent upgrade. I am using Bulk Register website creator. I have been advised by their support that they are not supporting the firefox upgrade yet

  • Web Host Does not support QuickTIme

I am in the process of having a website built that requires audio streaming. Comparable websites use QT which seems to work well with most browsers and computers.
My web host uses Real Audio. This is causing problems because it doesn't seem to stream as well as QT. Many browers don't have ready access to the plug-ins (both Windows and Mac). I am afraid customers will bypass my files rather than taking the time to figure out how to get the required plug-ins for playback.
Is there anyway I can export QT files into my site without their support, or do I need to cut my losses and look for a QT friendly host?
    G4 PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.3)

Ah, then you don't need to be concerned with streaming. It's main benefit is being able to take live data and broadcast it at a rate that makes it great for realtime.
Since you have the luxury of recording, compressing and posting at a later time, then you won't have a problem using QuickTime's Fast Start function. Two tools I'd recommend up front is
    Lilipot http://www.qtbridge.com/lillipot/lillipot.html
    and
    Pageot http://www.qtbridge.com/pageot/pageot.html
Lilipot will allow processing of any QuickTime file to enable Fast Start (play as you download) and Pageot will help when setting up your html to make sure that PC and Macintosh users both get a similar experience.
You should be able to just create an audio file, run Lilipot on it then create an html page with Pageot to test how your solution will work. Post back if you need any other specific information.

  • Oracle BAM Web Applications not supported by Firefox and Chrome browsers

    Hi,
    1) To enable Oracle BAM in a BPM project, when a project data object is marked as a business indicator, the Process Engine stores
its value in the BAM and DataMart databases, as explained in the documentation. So, How can we use this information to monitor the process activity? Is there any detailed documentation or a sample?
    2) Does Oracle BAM Web Applications still not supported by the browsers Firefox (3.5 and 3.6) and Google Chrome?
    Tahnks. Regards,
    Hanine

    Hanine,
The business indicators can be used when creating your data objects in BAM Architect and BAM Active Studio.
The BAM tools still require Internet Explorer only.
    Heidi.

  • RDWEB IE11 Browser not supported

I have 2008R2 with RDS. I have a couple Apps on it, and almost everything is fine, except that IE11 users are getting this error:
    Browser Not Supported
This Web browser is not supported by RD Web Access. RD Web Access requires Internet "Explorer 6.0 or later.
You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the
    Windows Update Web site. "
IE 11 is certainly later than 6.0.
I am not seeing anything in the forums, is there a work-around on either the server or client side?
    Thx!

Well, I think around Y2K, this would have been at the top of everyone's mind.  Because now, in 2014 this is essentially the same kind of problem.  Gollygosh, we never thought IE would go past 9.....
(I am kind of surprised it did too... however fairly certain V.11 will be the death of IE.  Unfortunately, most users want to be the race car driver, not the mechanic so fussing with the 'strings' ain't gonna happen, the will just load Chrome or Firefox
    and it will just work.
"Its an easy fix with changing the string function. When this was written I dont think anyone thought IE would be > then 10 any time soon."

Notice how it opens very quickly, and then you can scroll around and view all the content as the PDF content strreams in?  In Safari you can see the download progress like you used to be able to see in all versions of the acrobat plug-in.  Note also that in the IE version, although fast web view is working, you cannot see the download progress like you used to be able to... Thats an issue, but not nearly as bad as the real issue...
Now try clicking the same link in either FireFox or Chrome (note that in Chrome you need to be sure that Chrome's PDF viewer is turned off and the acrobat plug-in is enabled).  Note that the PDF is not displayed until the entire file is downloaded.
This feature is VITAL for viewing large documents online.  I'm astonished that this has not been reported by other users.
Adobe -- PLEASE be sure that this gets fixed in the next update to Reader X!!  I was shocked to see that it was not fixed in 10.1.

WHY would you want to disable this? Linearized "Fast Web View" enabled PDF are the right and proper type of document to be created.

  • Web Deploy error - "This method is not supported by this class"

I have an MVC project which I am trying to deploy to one of our internally-hosted web front end servers via a TFS build process. Our server hosts the MS Deploy service, and other solutions deploy without problems to the same box. The parameters for the build
    process are as follows:
    /p:DeployOnBuild=True /p:DeployTarget=MsDeployPublish /p:MSDeployPublishMethod=WMSVC /p:MsDeployServiceUrl=https://<server>:8172/msdeploy.axd /p:DeployIISAppPath="<internal.site.com>" /p:username=<username> /p:password=<password>
    /p:IncludeIisSettingsOnPublish=false /p:AllowUntrustedCertificate=True /p:OutputPath=bin\ /p:SkipExtraFilesOnServer=True /p:VisualStudioVersion=11.0
The error message I receive at the point the build reaches the deployment activity is:
Web deployment task failed. (Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://<server>:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=<internal.site.com>'.)
Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://<server>:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=<internal.site.com>'.
The request was aborted: The request was canceled.
This method is not supported by this class.
    We've found
this StackOverflow post which describes the same error we're experiencing, however the suggested solution is something we already do in our server configuration, so this doesn't resolve the issue for us.
Has anyone seen this error before, or is able to make any suggestions why it is happening?

    Hi Matt,
You have to have a look in the build log then copy the command that is under Run MSBuild node and executed it on the build agent.
You should find something like below:
