Mystery Data and dual libraries.

My MBP is starting to run very slow. I am trying to make more space on the system drive and have found I have two libraries; one slightly larger than the other. One is under MAC HD (25G) and one is under Users (39G)(There is also one in System but that is not in question). I think somehow I have duplicated one along the line as there are a lot of duplicate folders in each. Is this normal or do I should I delete one of these Libraries? In other news, I have added up all the files on the computer and there still seems to be a phantom 50G or so that I cant account for. Should I just wipe the hard drive and start over? I have some Time Machine backups. I guess the problem will just come back when I reinstall the TM back ups?

That's normal. The one at the top-level of the disk is for system-level files. The one within your user's home folder is for user-level files.
there still seems to be a phantom 50G or so that I cant account for.
There are several possible places where those files could be. With no external devices mounted, invoke the Finder menu option Go -> Go to Folder. Type "/Volumes" (without the quotes) and click "GO". If you see anything there besides your boot volume, that could be a "phantom" copy of an external drive. If that's your situation, you can navigate to that folder to investigate what's in it, but the ultimate solution is to delete that folder.

  • Data View Web Part - List of Subsites and Document Libraries under Current Site - Must be able to Package as Site Template in SPDesigner

    Hi Guys,
On the home page of each sub site I would like to be able to show a list of subsites and Document libraries that are under the current subsite.
I started investigating a solution using Datasources with SOAP requests sent to the server but it is very difficult to understand how to surface it on the Data View WebPart.
I have tried with the search results webpart but the problem is that it does not work well when packaged in a Site Template.
    Please advise.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rhyan

    Ok,
    Here is the problem:
When creating a mysite from powershell or script, apparently you can ONLY do this from a wfe (or a server running Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application in services on server).
You CANNOT create mysites from script on your appserver if it is not also a Web Application Server. I confirmed the same is true in my test farm. I guess I was always running most of these scripts on the webserver.
I searched all over and cannot find this documented anywhere.
Who do I contact to have Microsoft document this?
It's Thursday morning, I've been working non stop since Saturday morning so you don't have to :)

  • File window not updating modif. dates – and mysterious parallel universe discovered

The day started innocently enough when I tried to edit some <meta> content on a site I'm building and then saved my work. Little did I know...
DW's "File" window refused to update the "Modified" column of the files I worked on.  Open and closing the files shows that my changes have been recognized and incorporated into the HTML, and the files show up with correct modification dates in Finder (I'm on a Mac). They just won't change date in DW.
When I upload the modified-but-not-redated-in-DreamWeaver files to my remote site, they appear with the incorrect dates on the server, but a text comparison in DW shows that my local and remote files are synched.
Now for the truly weird part: when I run the site in Safari (after flushing its cache), a Source check shows the old code is still operational.  (I also changed the titles of the pages in question to quickly confirm which version was being displayed. This check shows the old title displayed.)
    Here's the site address:  http://www.bearriverbooks.com/index.html
Now for the truly, truly wierd part.  I have a parallel site ( http://www.queen-of-the-northern-mines.com/index.html ) which contains copies of the bearriverbooks.com files. These files, too, show the wrong modification dates in DW's "Files" window and on the remote server – but they display correctly. Anyone who wants to check can compare page titles, which are longer in the later pages with correct code.
I checked the remote site addresses in the "Manage Sites..." center.  I have not crossed my wires there (though I can smell a few arcing badly in my brain.).

I am having the same issue on a Mac 3.4Ghz i7 running Mac OS 10.7.  I have Dreamweaver CS 5.5 v.11.5 Build 5344.
I have a linux webserver, running ProFTPD v.1.3.1
Both my mac and my linux server are set to the correct date and time.
And ls on the linux servers tells me the files have the correct modified date and time, but this is getting lost in translation to dreamweaver when I view the remove server in the File tab.
    Any help appreciated.

  • I have been storing my Aperture and IMovie Libraries on an external hard drive that recently died.  Fortunately I've been using Time Machine to back up to a 2nd external drive.  How do I restore my libraries to a new external hard drive?

I have been storing my Aperture and IMovie Libraries on an external hard drive that recently died.  Fortunately I've been using Time Machine to back up to a 2nd external drive.  How do I restore my libraries to a new external hard drive?

    This is a tricky one.
Open up Time Machine and go back to a date using the timeline on the right side of the window when you know the drive was working and was backing up as part of Time Machine backups.
Click on the name of your Mac under the Devices heading on the left side of the window in Time Machine, and if things are working correctly you will see Macintosh HD (or whatever you have named it) and the name of the external hard drive that was backing up in the past.
Right-Click on the name of the external hard drive and then click on "Restore (name of drive) to....."  You may be asked for your adminstrator password at this point.
It might be easier to restore the drive contents to your desktop if you have room on your Mac, and then copy things over to the new external drive where you want to store the Aperture and iMovie Libraries.
Once the libraries have been moved over the new external hard drive, you will likely need to "point" Aperture and iMovie to the location of the libraries on the new external hard drive.

I want to find the all the records whose mail date(earliest of all with no reply) and no response date and find the earlier one with reponse date and display it as a one row.
    For example
mail_Date+45 mail_Date in table    earliest date of reponse
    BEGIN_DATE   DEL_DATES           END_DATE                 TRACKING_ID
    17-SEP-04    03-AUG-04 06-          MAR-07                                2257
Other date and their response date should be shown same way
The issue is I am not able to retrieve other records in the tables because I am using MIN function.
    here is my query
    SELECT   t.MAIL_DATE + 45 begin_Date,
      del_date.del_dates,
      (SELECT MIN(st2.RESPONSE_DATE) Del_end_date

  • Mysterious Data Usage

    Hello,
My wife owns an HTC Thunderbolt.  We are experiencing mysterious data usage.
The data log shows data usage during hours and at times when the phone is not being used.  We have tried closing all apps and resetting the phone.
Still, these nickel and dime data used entries are adding up fast and bring us to the brink of our our plan which we have already extended.
We do not stream video, we do not listen to Pandora.... The phone is used strictly for texts, emails, and phone calls.
Any advice?  Thank you for your help.

Same here - very similar.Times are close but not like yours.
I've deleted the email accounts and re-added them to see if there was a looping email send issue that I've read about.
Funny though, when I review the data use on the phone, "photo" is the app indicating using the most data. So I've turned off and uninstalled everything I can think is tied to that.

  • How do I get date and time component from a DATE object?

    Hi All,
I need to get date and time separately from a DATE object, does
anyone know what function I should call? GetDate()? GetTime()?
I need this in a SELECT statement.
Thanks in advance and looking forward to your early reply.
    Regards.

The correct way to handle this is to use bind variables.

  • Putting date and time in a spool file name for output

  • Converting part of the string to a date and subtract with sysdate.

HINT! In order solve this you must know how the pnr is assembled. Study this:
650323-5510, we only need the first six characters. They inform us about when the person (car owner) was born. In this case it is 23 Mars 1965. You have to use several oracle built-in-functions to solve this. Hint! Begin by converting part of the string to a date and subtract with sysdate.
    select to_char(to_date(cast(pnr,'YYMMDDMM'))) from car_owner;
please what am i doing wrong. i need the result to be something like this
    Hans, Rosenboll, 59,6 years.

    Hi.
The main problem here is you have only last two digits of year. That could be the problem in a couple of years from now, when somebody born after 2k would get in to your database. For now if we ignore this problem the right solution would be :
    <code>

Suppose you are expecting the age of the car owner as a result above code will give you that. One again notice the '19' I appended.

  • Naming for Export dmp file in Date and Time

    Dear All,
Please advise me how to give the file name in date and time stamp for the export dmp file and it's log file.Suggest me in Oracle 9i version.
for example the file name get like this 020420041155.dmp and 020420041155.log where date and time are 02/04/2004 11:55 respectively...
Kindly let me know the syntax of filename to be given along with the EXP command..
    Thanking You,
    Ragesh

    Hello
I don't think you can get the exp command to automatically name an export for you. The only way I think you would be able to do it is through a shell script or something where you format the file name yourself and pass it to exp. If you wanted to you could generate the command line through a SQL statement and then spool it out to a file i.e.
    spool runexp.bat
    select 'exp user/pwd@tns file='||TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'DDMMYYYYHH24MI')||'.dmp tables=(table1,table2)' from dual;
spool offThe second option isn't as flexible as the first but if it's just a couple of exports you have to do, it will probably prove to be less work

  • Adjusting date and time in Elements Organizer

    Hi!
Is there any way to adjust the date and time in Elements Organizer, to a specific date and time that includes not only hours and minutes, but also seconds?

It looks like there are a few different threads on this topic.  I posted something yesterday that explained how I used a bash script to automatically parse through the .mov files in my iMovie Events folder and set the "Last Modified" date according to the file name (which had the date in it).  It saved me a lot of time since I had >500 clips to set to the proper time.  The post might be useful to others:

  • Display date and Time in Oracle Application Express Page

    Hi
I have a requirement of showing the date and time in the top left corner of the page which should be updated at all times . The format is DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS.
I am able to display the date but not the time . Also the time should be updating on its own to the last second.
Another requirement is that on selecting a particular value from the drop down the table values displayed should be filtered
Thanks in advance for helping me out
you can also send in the responses to [email protected]
    Regards
    Jude Franco

    Hello,
I am able to display the date but not the time Probably due to your NLS settings not displaying the time component for dates. However you can manually specify the output format like this -
    jes@DBTEST> select to_char(sysdate, 'HH24:MI:SS DD-MON-YYYY') as TS from dual;
    TS
    10:47:45 10-DEC-2008
Another requirement is that on selecting a particular value from the drop down the table values displayed should be filtered Really need more details on that (remember assume that we know nothing about your requirements other than what you tell us). However at a high-level you need to include the drop down value in the query predicate used for your report, for example -
    select
      e.ename,
      e.sal
    from
      emp e
    where
e.deptno = NVL(:P1_DEPTNO, e.deptno)Would use the value from the P1_DEPTNO select list (presumably displaying department names) and use it to filter the result. The NVL is there so that if no dept is selected then the query by default shows all the records.
    Hope this helps,
    John.

  • Show active current date and time in a Form continuously

    Hi,
I am use Oracle Form 10.1.2 in Windows 2000.
Can we show an active current date and time in a Form continuously?
Perhaps in the main menu form.
So the user can see the moving time, instantly when the time change (withour pushing F5 for refreshing the form)
    23-Sep-2006 06:00
-- one minute later will show
    23-Sep-2006 06:01
-- one minute later will show
    23-Sep-2006 06:02
    -- and so on
    Any help is appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

Here is a quick, untested suggestion that sketches out one way of approaching this.
If you only require updates every 60 seconds, you can use the TIMER built-in to create a repeating timer with a sixty-second delay. Each time the timer expires, update a text item to reflect the current time (obtained by selecting SYSDATE from DUAL on the database.)
If the time is to be updated precisely when the minute changes, use two timers -- the same one described above, and a one-shot. Before you create either timer, run the following query:
SELECT 60-TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'ss')) FROM DUALThis will give the number of seconds remaining until the minute changes. Use this value to set the duration of the one-shot timer. When it expires, create the repeating sixty-second timer.
There is a good possibility that this method will not be terribly precise, depending on factors like server resources, user load and network distance. A more network-friendly approach would be to use a JavaBean that relies on the PC's system timer to track the passage of time, and calculates server time based on the observed time difference between PC & server.
