Nakisa OrgChart V3.0 SP1: Printing Issues

Hi,
We're using Nakisa OrgChart VSN30 SP1.
We have a few issues about printing:
1. Tiling. When I go to tile a large Org Chart, even though Nakisa shows the page separator lines and no margins u2013 each page does have a margin cuts out portions of the printed Org Chart.
2. Font for "printing/Header" and "ChartBook/Cover or Head". "Calibri" is our company's Standard font but not included in the font choices in Nakisa.
BTW, the sector of Print and Export in Nakisa's Help Document for OrgChart VSN30 SP1 has different screenshots of "Basic Print Wizard" from what we have.
Thanks,
Hongling

Hongling,
Just to add that I had a client on 3.0 who did some very extensive testing of printing and exporting.  They too had issues using tiling that have been confirmed as not present in SP2.  I can't say for sure if your issue is or not without trying.
Is SP2 an option for you at this point?
If not, then OSS seems the only way to go.
If SP2 is an option, then it is worth considering but you might want to seek some assurance about whether this issue is resolved first.
Regards,
Stephen
P.s. By the way, did you get anywhere resolving your other print issue "different printers"? I notice it is still open on this forum.

  • Nakisa OrgChart 3.0 SP1- Staged extracting only active employee

    Hi Experts,
We have OrgChart 3.0 SP1 Staged environment. It extracts only active employees. Itu2019s not extracting other employee having other employment status (say inactive- employee who are on maternity leave for example).
How we can set extraction so that we can see all the employee in organization irrespective to the employment status?
    Thanks
    Dave

Luke is right about STAT2 being employment status and how to remove it.  But rather than simply removing it, then confirm your requirement more clearly by looking at the various employment statuses you have defined and which ones you can need (or can exclude).
Also you might need to extract PA2001 (Absences) if you have a requirement around maternity leave (although I would still expect these to be 3 - "Active" employees!) and write some explicit logic in the joinconfiguration.xml to include employees you wish to see in the OrgChart and exclude those you don't.

  • Nakisa OrgChart STVN 21 JAVA Connectivity issue with ECC 6.0 Ehp4

    Dear Nakisa,
We have deployed Nakisa component with following steps:
    1. Java component OrgChart21 TalentOrgChart21_16.sca on SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 Ehp1.
    2. applied Nakisa "STVN21_Addon_NW701.SAR" and "STVN21TP_OCOMECC60_1_1.zip" on SAP ERP 6.0 Ehp4.
    3. Created SSO connectivity between NWCE and ERP 6.0 Ehp4.
    5. Applied Nakisa License on portal using following URL:
    http://coe-lba-asd1.group.coe:57000/OrgChart/manager.jsp
    6. We have provided security settings entries without role mapping and getting following issues while accessing Nakisa user portal:
      404   Not Found
SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.11 / AS Java 7.11
Error: The requested resource /default.jsp is not available

Now we would require implement connectivity between Nakisa JAVA component and ERP 6.0 Ehp4. Please help us with its procedure.

    Hello,
The connectivity if I understand you correctly is based on the Connection String.
Please refer to the page 33 "Setting the Authentication Source" on the Administrator Guide for STVN2.1.
An example of connection string would be:
    ASHOST=SAPTWO SYSNR=02 USER=gsmith PASSWD=PWD1234 CLIENT=800

  • Nakisa Orgchart 4.0 SP1 add photos

    Good day,
I am new to Nakisa and it is my task to add photos for Orgchart in Nakisa.
We want to add employee photo's into the org chart in Nakisa but currently
do not have photo's in SAP R/3 the physical file will be stored on SAP Livelink
server. I know that the file name must be the same as the personnel number, how
do I link the files to be displayed in Nakisa?
    Jaco

    Jaco.
I've only ever configured portrait images for inclusion from SAP directly or from a portraits folder in the OrgChart images directory with the PERNR as the file name.  So what follows is more how I would approach the problem rather than a guaranteed solution.
The admin guide says "Enter the Portraits Path to the folder that stores the image files. Employee portraits are stored as separate files in a folder under the main application directory. [application directory]/images/Portraits is the default folder path.", but I think I would first put the base URL to the images location on the SAP Livelink server into the folder path.  Then switch OrgChart into Basic mode and review the result.  In basic mode the output is HTML (no flash), so you can review the IMG tag SRC attribute.
I'm assuming in the above that the SAP Livelink server will host the requisite images in a single browsable folder.  i.e. every portrait image will be accessible via a url like http://livelink/somefolder/{pernr}.jpg where {pernr} changes for each employee but the rest of the URL remains constant.  If this isn't the case then it would certainly be more complex; possibly to the point of not being worth the effort?
If it didn't work straight off (I expect it might not - I think it might prefix a "/"), I would then review the XSL for the views and details panels using the portrait images.  I've a feeling a tweak to any templates (e.g. getImagePath) that generate the image path could allow the URL to be applied correctly.
I can appreciate that for someone new to Nakisa that making changes to the XSL might sound less than ideal ... generally it is best to try and stick to using the AdminConsole as you'll need to understand what files do what and the use of the .delta folder structures as a minimum.
So if that is a bit too far outside of your comfort zone (and you don't want to bring in someone from Nakisa or a Nakisa Partner to help with it) then I would suggest setting up a batch job to periodically copy any new portrait images from where they are stored on the SAP Livelink server to the portraits directory on the OrgChart server and then simply configure the portraits path as per the directions in the admin guide.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Stephen.

  • Nakisa OrgChart 3.2 not saving / publishing / not doing ANYTHING

    Hi,
When we deploy the latest OrgChart version (provided by SAP a week ago), we are unable to save / publish or enter a sap connection string (pretty much all the functions are having the same issue!....it just sits there and does nothing!).
We had this issue with first 3.2 build for OrgChart also.
    The cds.log contains the following:
    13 Dec 2011 12:38:53 ERROR com.nakisa.Logger  - ApplicationSettings : SettingsResources.xml file not found at /usr/sap/DM8/J00/j2ee/cluster/apps/Nakisa/OrgChart/servlet_jsp/OrgChart/root//XML/SettingsResources
It's my understanding that there is no longer a SettingsResources.xml file (now a SettingsResources directory with .txt files in ??), so why is Nakisa even trying to reference the this file?
We are using CE 7.2 SP1 on RHEL 5.6
    Thanks in advance!
    Neil

    Hi again,
We found this in the admin guide :
"Read-only access is configured for remote support of Nakisa applications. The following
actions are disabled in the Nakisa AdminConsole when a read-only user logs in:
    Submit in all setup wizards
Save As, Save, and Publish build
    Create new admin user
    Change admin password"
This is exactly how our system is behaving. I might add that we are unable to enter data conections via the Data Center and nothing is working properly in the Application-wide settings. Examples Log Viewer / Add-On Manager not working.
But we are the 'Admin' user and we've not got as far as to change anything to 'read-only' as it won't allow us.
If this is the source of our woes, does anyone know how to overcome this issue?
    Regards
    Neil

  • Dynamic rooting (User Record) setting is not working in Nakisa OrgChart SP3

    Dear All
The Dynamic rooting setting is not working in the Nakisa OrgChart SP3.
It is giving an error message - "Cannot find the root of your orgchart. The orgchart box may have been deleted or incorrectly specified, or no valid org structure can be found for the selected effective date. Please change the root of the chart or select another effective date."
We followed the same steps as given in the Admin guide of SP3 (P.no. 109 - shown below)
    In Orgchart --> General Settings:
    * Select the Org chart root value source.
User Record: Retrieves the record specified in the next step from the employee data element.
*Do one of the following to define the org chart root:
If User Record was selected in the previous step, select the field containing the ID of the required organizational object in the employee data element from the User record field drop-down list. For example, if you wish to root the org chart at the org unit of the logged-in user, select the field containing the org unit ID. Hence, we have selected the Org unit ID.
    Note:
We had enabled single sign-on with logon tickets
Retained the standard settings in Security Settings --> Employee Source
Had provided full authorization to the roles
If we use the "OrgChart Root" option available in 'Orgchart root value source', the org structure gets displayed correctly from the root object defined.
As this is an standard functionality, Kindly guide us in resolving the issue.
    Regards
    Ravindra

    Ravindra.
You don't have to and shouldn't always include the username and password parameters for the SAP Connection string.  When you omit them it will use the user's login credentials.
    Remember though that:
The SAPRoleMappingConnection will need them included in order to get the details for the user in the first place.
Without the username and password specified in a connection string you can't click the option to test the connection and result in a successful connection.  Remember unable to connect does not necessarily equate to wrongly configured.
I've filtered the log file for errors and the following entries were flagged up:

At the very least it looks like SAPPositionVacancyDataElement is missing and whilst the other errors around it are unfamiliar I wonder if it might be a good first step to see if you can track down the reference to and existence of this data element?  That being said it looks like your last test occurred well over an hour after this (so you may have already resolved it) and resulted in nothing but information messages.  If that is the case it might be worth "rolling" your log file or manually trimming it to the right time frame when posting it?  Otherwise it can be misleading as people could flag up issues you have already resolved.
So assuming you haven't tried Luke's suggestion (which should only take a couple of minutes to do) I think you should go back and do so right away .

    <dll>Nakisa.SAP.Custom.OTFProcessor</dll>
    <class>Nakisa.SAP.Custom.OTFProcessor.BAPI_SAP_OTFProcessor_Report_Lite</class>
    to

  • Icon-Start Chart one level above Nakisa OrgChart 4.1 Live

    Hello
In relation to the problem specified by Sakthi Seithur: "Icon-Start Chart one level above Nakisa OrgChart 3.0SP3 Live" we have a similar problem but this time it's on version 4.1.
We have upgraded from version 3.0 SP3 to 4.1. Previously we made use of the "AllowUpLevelForRootTypeUser" trick in version 3.0 sp3 to get the icon to appear. However, now in version 4.1 the problem is back and the "AllowUpLevelForRootTypeUser" trick doesn't seem to have any effect.
Does anyone have insight into this problem on version 4.1?

    Richard,
I had this same issue on 4.0. It worked then didn't after a build update (to #437 on 4.0). My client raised an OSS and (finally!) today it got an update ... they issued a new build ("0901052300" i.e. #532 on 4.0 version) to resolve the issue.
I wonder/suspect that the issue might be also in the 4.1 release. I would raise an OSS to ask whether this is a known issue in 4.1 and also specify your full build number (long one on the AdminConsole screen once you've logged in and loaded a build).  Hopefully they have a newer build with it fixed or can test on your build version to replicate the issue.

We use HP OfficeJet 100 mobile printers and have a printing issue. When we print the printer acts as if it is going to print and then prints one blank page.Printer will not print even though it is showing as default printer.Printer will just stop printing in the middle of a document, even in the middle of printing out a page. We are printing via the USB cableWe are using Windows 8.1We are connecting to laptopsWe have been using the HP mobile range of printers since 2004 and have only experienced these issues since we moved the laptops onto Windows 8/8.1 We have:Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers – this fixed this issue for a short while and then it reappeared againCalled HP support and they directed us to the driver support page which had the latest print drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers with them on the phone. This initially fixed the problem and then it returned a few days laterAfter trawling the support forums found directions to change the print processor to “WinPrint” – No effect as the processor was already on this settingDownloaded the HP diagnostic tool – HP Print and Scan Doctor – didn’t fix anything Any further help would be much appreciated.

Hello there Lawrence, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the troubles you are running into when you attempt to install your OJ 6100 printer on your Windows 8.1 laptop. I read all of your attempts and seen you have tried several methods to try and get the installation to complete successfully.
I would like to make some suggestions that may help. Let me know how it goes!
    1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: How do I turn off Pop-up Blocker?
    Try to install
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
    How to disable realtime scans
    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Try the install

  • HP ENVY 100 D410 Printing issues...

I have an HP ENVY 100 that has recently started having printing issues.  We recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and had no problems in the upgrade nor have we had any other software that we've changed.  The problem seems to be somewhat random and the results are always the same.  When commanded to print the printer acts as if it is running out of ink and then distorts the fonts creating vertical lines on the page and skipping rows creating what almost looks like a bar code. It's most peculiar and the only way I can find to solve the issue is to completely restart both my system and the printer.  Thinking that I had a driver issue on my Mac I used the utility on the printer to update drivers and none were found.  To insure that the problems wasn't isolated to just my machine I tried our laptop as well and it seems to have the same problem.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Hi Talon,
That more liekly related to the software indeed, I would suggest trying the following steps:
Reset the printing system as listed below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01371980
Open the Applications folder, then Hewlett-Packard and then open the Device Utilities folder, launch the HP Setup Asisistant and follow the steps to reconfigure the device.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder simply re-add the printer by clicking the plus button under Print & Scan.
Now try printing and follow for any difference.
If the same persists uninstall any HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller under the Hewlett-Packard folder.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder follow the steps listed under Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 > I used Apple Software Updates to install the product software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02440673&tmp_task=useCatego ry&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5157536#N1305
Download and isntall the latest Lion Software below:

Once completing the installation click the Apple icon and install any available Software Update.

  • New airport extreme and printer issues

    OK here is the deal
I have the new airport and a hp psc 750 printer. I have a new macbook which can not print on this printer. It will recognize it thru bonjour but will not install the driver - the odd thing is that I have a pc connected directly and a windows based wireless laptop which both are able to print via this airport. I also have an external hard drive that is connected to the airport. All of the computers are able access this drive. So all appears in order except for the macbook-printer issue. I contacted tech support and they claimed driver issue. Anyone have any ideas - I have updated the most recent drivers for this computer and I was able to install this printer via a usb connection. Thanks

There have been a few posts about issues with HP printers working or not working as the case may be through the extreme. I can't remember what they say, but a search for HP in this forum may well help you.
Sorry to be so vague, just thought it might be a start for you.

  • Need help diagnosing cause of printing issue w/ image distortion

Hello, I'm looking for some expert advice for my print issue with image distortion (see above) on my files once setup and proofed by my printer.
I have a large PSD background file out of photoshop (CMYK, 170mb psd) that is being placed into an InDesign document. No preflight errors, all correct SWOP cmyk settings, and I keep having issues where images distort on my printers proofs - they seem unable to explain the issue and can't offer any other suggestions beyond ("just try resaving/uploading again" which of course has an added fee with each upload...).
The files are all fine on our end: on-screen, on our cmyk proofs, and our saved PDFs/packaged files. But everytime our printer opens these they seem to have these distorted image problems - scrambled images (almost as if there was a ghosted transparent image in the distorted area), strange lines (see above, and color distortion (usually greens and pinks, see above).
Is this an issue with my settings/file formats? Maybe the issue lies on our printers end? I'll keep checking this throughout the day and provide quick answers to anyone who can help me get to the bottom of this.
Adobe forums have been a huge help in years past so I decided this was by best bet for a resolution from those who know more than myself (or my printer), thanks for taking the time to help!

  • Auto adjustment of page orientation causes printing issues with documents that have a page width greater than its page height.

    Hi,
Since an upgrade from Word 2003 to Word 2010, we are experiencing printing issues with certain
documents that have a page width greater than its page height.
In Word 2003, it was no problem to set the page width greater than the page height while setting the page orientation to "portrait".
In Word 2010, this seems impossible: despite leaving the page orientation to "portrait", if one changes the page width/height as stated,
Word 2010 automatically adjusts the orientation to "landscape". Resetting the orientation to "portrait" will flip the page's width/heigth settings.
This behaviour causes printing problems: the page prints out 90° rotated.
I do not believe this is a printer driver issue: I tried several different printer drivers, and all give the same (bad) result. Setting the printer driver's page orientation settings (before printing) makes no difference, as
Word 2010 seems to force the page orientation settings.
Inserting the documents 90° rotated is not an option, since it causes problems with the printing margins.
This is very annoying, since we have to print official documents of a municipality (driver's licences).
Is there a workaround for this issue?

  • Remote Desktop Connection and printing issues

    Hi,
I am using Windows 7 on my desktop and also connected to Windows Server 2008 R2 to run applications in Windows Server. However, I noted there is problem with the printer issues. Sometimes, when I tried to print some documents using applications
in Windows Server with my local printer in my room connected to desktop, it won't work.
Moreover, I need to go to Windows Server, Component Service to restart printer spooler so it will work again. This is a pain.
I also noticed there is about 30 seconds wait to process any document to print.
Unlike if I print documents directly from my local desktop computer running Windows 7 and connected to local printer, it only takes seconds to print.
My desktop is connected to Windows Server 2008 via local area network. I should not expect such a significant delay in printing.
I also wonder why printer spooler needs to be restarted when printer is not working.
Can anyone advise me about this? Can Microsoft looks into this problem and release updates to fix the bug to improve the system?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Clement

    Hi,
Please check if you turn on this settings:
You need to set this up just before you connect. The setting will be saved so that you won't need to change it the next time you connect.
    1. Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the Start button, clicking
All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking
    Remote Desktop Connection.
2.Click Options, and then click the Local Resources
    tab.
3.Under Local devices and resources, select the Printers check box.
4.Click Connect to start the session.
Make sure that you select your printer in the Print dialog box each time you print.
