Namespaces in Java...

Hi there.
Relatively new to java, I am trying to find out if there are ways of namespacing (if that is the correct term) in Java.
F.x. if the line
return Math.pow ( num, 2);
could be reduced to
return pow ( num, 2);
by applying some code above..
Thanks in advance
-T

In Java 5 you can use import static.
e.g.
import static java.lang.Math.*;
import static java.lang.Double.*;
import static java.lang.System.*;
public class C {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
        double x = parseDouble(args[0]);
        double y = parseDouble(args[1]);
        out.println("The function "+x+" ^ "+y+" is "+pow(x,y));
}

    Hey Axel -
    WLS 10.3.x does not implement Java EE 6 -- it's a Java EE 5 based server.
    While we have added support for a few independent Java EE 6 specifications where we can -- such as JSF 2.0 in WLS 10.3.3 and JPA 2.0/JAX-RS 1.1 with WLS 10.3.4 that is coming in the next patchset -- we don't support all of the Java EE 6 model and thus you can't use any of the EJB 3.1, Servlet 3.0 changes and you can't deploy EJBs (and JPA entities) inside of a WAR file. Our next major release will be a Java EE 6 implementation, where this will be possible.

  • How to call java code in xsl?

    I'm trying to call java code in xsl. I've not been able to do so so far....any help is greatly appreciated.
    Here's my xsl:

    <xsl:strip-space elements="*"/>
    <xsl:template match="data_order">

    <fromdate><xsl:value-of select="ds/temporal/ds_start_date"/></fromdate>
    <stringdate><xsl:variable name="stringDate" select="java:ConvertDate2.changeDate(ds_start_date)"/>
    </stringdate>
    <thrudate><xsl:value-of select="ds/temporal/ds_stop_date"/></thrudate>
    <chans><xsl:apply-templates select="ds/subset_spec/channels"/></chans>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:attribute-set name="order-info">
    <xsl:attribute name="id"><xsl:value-of select="@job_id"/></xsl:attribute>
    <xsl:attribute name="job"><xsl:value-of select="@origin"/></xsl:attribute>
    </xsl:attribute-set>
    <xsl:template match="channels">
    <xsl:copy use-attribute-sets="sequence">
    <xsl:apply-templates/>
    </xsl:copy>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:attribute-set name="sequence">
    <xsl:attribute name="index"><xsl:value-of select="position()"/></xsl:attribute>
    </xsl:attribute-set>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    And here's my java code
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.lang.*;
    public class ConvertDate2
    public static String changeDate(String inputdate)
    String date_array[];
    String combined_date;
    date_array = inputdate.split("[-]");
    combined_date = date_array[0]+ date_array[1]+ date_array[2];
    return combined_date;
    }//end changeDate
    }// end class

    Try Changing your namespace for java to ConvertDate2(This class should be in classpath) and replace
    <stringdate><xsl:variable name="stringDate" select="java:ConvertDate2.changeDate(ds_start_date)"/>
    </stringdate>
    with
    <stringdate><xsl:variable name="stringDate" select="java:changeDate(ds_start_date)"/>
    </stringdate>
    Make sure your query matches with ds_start_date correctly.

  • How to do the following XML/XSLT operation in a Java Oracle function?

    I'd like to write a Java method with the following signature...
    public static oracle.xdb.XMLType bwdtransform(java.lang.String suname, oracle.sql.CLOB documentText)
    The documentText is simply a CLOB that contains the XML. It needs to have two XSLT stylesheets applied to it, then made into an XMLType and returned.
    Another requirement is that the stylesheets have to have the Java XPath extensibility, which is available using the namespace "xmlns:java.lang.String="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/java.lang.String".
    I've tried a couple of different ways using oracle.xdb.XMLType.transform() and the classes in the oracle package oracle.xml.parser.v2.*, which is what the listing I pasted in below is based on, but I haven't been able to get anything to work. I THINK the XMLType.transform failed because I was using the Java XPath extensions.
    I'd appreciate it if there's a standard Oracle recommended way to do this operation, preferably as optimized as possible.
    Here btw is the current code I'm using which isn't working. Any variables that you see that aren't initialized in the function are static to the class and initialized in a static {} block including the stylesheets which are instances of XSLStylesheet.
    public static XMLType bwdtransform(java.lang.String suname, oracle.sql.CLOB documentText) throws Exception {
    parser.parse(new ByteArrayInputStream(clobToString(documentText).getBytes()));
    XMLDocument documentTextXMLDocument = parser.getDocument();
    XMLDocumentFragment docFrag = processor.processXSL(twiddlerXSLStylesheet, processor.processXSL(adopterXSLStylesheet, documentTextXMLDocument));
    Document intermediateDoc = docFrag.getOwnerDocument();
    XMLType x = new XMLType(conn, intermediateDoc);
    return x;
    I haven't been able to find any way to make this work and any any help in that direction would be oh so greatly appreciated.
    For completeness, here's the version of Oracle I'm running, according to sqlplus...
    SQL*Plus: Release 11.1.0.7.0 - Production on Thu Apr 30 20:24:53 2009
    Thanks!
    Ralph

    The XMLDB way of doing this like this would be something like the following examples:
    SELECT XMLtransform(x.xmlcol,
              DBURIType('/XDB/STYLESHEET_TAB/ROW[ID=1]
                               /STYLESHEET/text()').getXML()).getStringVal()
           AS result
    FROM  po_tab x; or
    SELECT XMLtransform(x.xmlcol,
                (SELECT stylesheet FROM stylesheet_tab WHERE id=1)).getStringVal()
              AS result
    FROM  po_tab x; or use DBMS_XSLPROCESSOR...

    <Humidity>89.9</Humidity>
    </Weather>
    </DLList>
    Please help.Let me know if any other information is required
    Thanks

    OK, here goes :
    For the example, I'll use a TB_DISTRICT table with the following structure :
    create table tb_district (
    sr_no number(3),
    district_name varchar2(100)
    );loaded with data from this page :
    http://india.gov.in/knowindia/districts/andhra1.php?stateid=KA
    and this XML document (one additional record compared to the one you posted) :
    <DLList xmlns="http://www.test.com/integration/feed" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <Weather>
    <StateName>Karnataka</StateName>
    <ForecastName>Bagalkote</ForecastName>
    <Humidity>89.9</Humidity>
    </Weather>
    <Weather>
    <StateName>Karnataka</StateName>
    <ForecastName>Devengiri</ForecastName>
    <Humidity>89.9</Humidity>
    </Weather>
    <Weather>
    <StateName>Karnataka</StateName>
    <ForecastName>Dharwad</ForecastName>
    <Humidity>70.1</Humidity>
    </Weather>
    </DLList>In order to access the XML, I'll also use this Oracle directory object :
    create directory test_dir as 'D:\ORACLE\test';Final relational tables are :
    create table BUSINESS_TABLE
      STATE         VARCHAR2(30),
      DISTRICT_NAME VARCHAR2(30),
      HUMIDITY      NUMBER
    );and
    create table REJECT_TABLE
      STATE         VARCHAR2(30),
      DISTRICT_NAME VARCHAR2(30),
      HUMIDITY      NUMBER,
      ERROR_MESSAGE VARCHAR2(500)
    );With XMLTable function, we can easily break the XML into relational rows and columns ready to use for DML :
    SQL> alter session set nls_numeric_characters=". ";
    Session altered
    SQL>
    SQL> SELECT *
      2  FROM XMLTable(
      3    XMLNamespaces(default 'http://www.test.com/integration/feed'),
      4    '/DLList/Weather'
      5    passing xmltype(bfilename('TEST_DIR','test.xml'), nls_charset_id('CHAR_CS'))
      6    columns
      7      state         varchar2(30) path 'StateName'
      8    , district_name varchar2(30) path 'ForecastName'
      9    , humidity      number       path 'Humidity'
    10  )
    11  ;
    STATE                          DISTRICT_NAME                    HUMIDITY
    Karnataka                      Bagalkote                            89.9
    Karnataka                      Devengiri                            89.9
    Karnataka                      Dharwad                              70.1
    Then with a multitable insert, we load both the business table and the reject table (if the district name does not exist in TB_DISTRICT) :
    SQL> INSERT FIRST
      2    WHEN master_district_name IS NOT NULL
      3      THEN INTO business_table (state, district_name, humidity)
      4                VALUES (state, district_name, humidity)
      5    ELSE INTO reject_table (state, district_name, humidity, error_message)
      6              VALUES (state, district_name, humidity, 'Invalid district name')
      7  WITH xml_data AS (
      8    SELECT *
      9    FROM XMLTable(
    10      XMLNamespaces(default 'http://www.test.com/integration/feed'),
    11      '/DLList/Weather'
    12      passing xmltype(bfilename('TEST_DIR','test.xml'), nls_charset_id('CHAR_CS'))
    13      columns
    14        state         varchar2(30) path 'StateName'
    15      , district_name varchar2(30) path 'ForecastName'
    16      , humidity      number       path 'Humidity'
    17    )
    18  )
    19  SELECT x.*
    20       , t.district_name as master_district_name
    21  FROM xml_data x
    22       LEFT OUTER JOIN tb_district t ON t.district_name = x.district_name
    23  ;
    3 rows inserted
    SQL> select * from business_table;
    STATE                          DISTRICT_NAME                    HUMIDITY
    Karnataka                      Dharwad                              70.1
    SQL> select * from reject_table;

    String str = "declare namespace m=\"java:java.lang.Math\"; \n"
    " let $r:=m:random() \n"
    " return $r";
    // prepare the query
    PreparedXQuery xq = ctx.prepareXQuery(strm);
    // get a resultset
    XQueryResultSet rset = xq.executeQuery();
    But I get errors that method with parameters not found.
    Is this the correct way to call java from oracle Xquery?
    Any help on that is appreciated ?

    The OJXQI API is an outdated early prototype before we released a much more scalable database-native XQuery implementation in Oralce Database 10g Release 2 last year. If your use case allows, you can use JDBC to access database-native Oracle XQuery.

  • Returning primitives array (i.e. long[]) in java sp, how to 'call spec'?

    Hi,
    When I write a java sp returning a long[], how can I write a
    call spec in PL/SQL,
    is anyone having any ideas?
    thanks, first.

    Try Changing your namespace for java to ConvertDate2(This class should be in classpath) and replace
    <stringdate><xsl:variable name="stringDate" select="java:ConvertDate2.changeDate(ds_start_date)"/>
    </stringdate>
    with
    <stringdate><xsl:variable name="stringDate" select="java:changeDate(ds_start_date)"/>
    </stringdate>
    Make sure your query matches with ds_start_date correctly.

  • f:ajax Tag Lib supports namespace but no tag was defined for name: ajax

    We are using 10.3.3 and trying to use JSF 2.0. the war deploys correctly and we cans see it on the server console. Most JSF tags and features work but when we use the <f:ajax> tag it gives the following exception.
    com.sun.facelets.tag.TagException: //C:/java/pai/NonGLSWeb/WebContent/pages/discSalesHeader.xhtml @80,112 <f:ajax> Tag Library supports namespace: http://java.sun.com/jsf/core, but no tag was defined for name: ajax
    at com.sun.facelets.compiler.CompilationManager.pushTag(CompilationManager.java:193)
    Are we missing something?
    thanks for your help in advance

    Generally, when you use ajax you don't need the <h:commandButton> anymore. The commandButton still does what it does even when you add an ajax tag to it.
    Try adding an ajax tag to your <h:inputText> elements with the valueChange event attribute, and render="o1" like you have it. You should see the outputText update the way you expect.

  • Xalan + Solaris + Tomcat + java extensions

    I have a stylesheet that calls Java code in my web application
    uses namespace:
    xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/xalan/java"
    calls a class called MapReader:
    <xsl:variable name="reader" select="java:org.blueprint.bind.bbs.ontoglyphs.MapReader.new()"/>
    <xsl:variable name="map" select="java:readMapFile($reader,number(./Molecule-A/gi))"/>
    This works fine running on linux + tomcat, when run in our production environment, Solaris, i get the following exception
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java/org/blueprint/bind/bbs/ontoglyphs/MapReader

  • How do i do reflection on a *.class file or a *.java?

    i have been readin the tutorial on how to do reflection but at the begining they say i need the classname. i don't have the classname, i just have the complete path to the file plus the filename.
    Class c = Class.forName(className);
    Object o = c.newInstance();Edited by: Tequila_Burp on Jun 16, 2008 9:21 PM

    What am trying to do is to extract all the methods information from a web service by knowing the URL and if necessary the namespace and servicename (until now it has been necessary). I had been forced to use Java Source Reflection from jaxme =/
    This code does the job but am unsure if there is an easier and effective method.
    The problem here is generarClases. When I take out the commentary it does its job but just when it finish generating the *.java files the application suddently shutdown. wsimport is shutting down all the application.
    This code is still incomplete

  • Call Java from XPath in XQuery?

    Hi all,
    in XQuery, I need to iterate over elements and, for each element, add an attribute that is the result of a complex calculation. Therefore I would like to to call a Java class which retuns a string inside a XPATH Expression in XQuery.
    I know, this is - unfortunately - not part of the XPAth standard, but some XQuery processors such as the one from Altova has extensions for that. There the XQuery looks like:
    declare namespace createID="java:xx.xx.IDCreator";
    <Customer id="{createID:create('xx')}">
    Is there any way to build something similar with Berkeleys XQuery engine?
    Thanks in adavance and cheers,
    Hajo

    Hi George,
    thanks a lot for the info, this is great news. Any chance I get my hands on 2.5 before 28th June? I have a presentation then.
    We have fantastic results on performance and memory footprint with Berkeley XML. Being able to call out Java has the potential to revolutionize XML based business logic I guess.
    Cheers,
    Hajo

  • Transaction and Weblogic MDB

    Hi,
    I am using Coherence as a cache for my weblogic application. I use a Message Driven Bean that receive a message, write something in Coherence and then write an other message in a result queue.
    I want all this operations to be fully transactional. To do this I try to use the Coherence Container Integration with JCA (see http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Transactions%2C+Locks+and+Concurrency).
    My first problem here is to install the rar file in weblogic. I try in weblogic version 10 and 8.1 (my coherence version is 3.2) and I got the following errors :

    Thanks,

    Hi William,
    Are you sure this is correct? During the prepare phase I would have expected the
    changes to have been made persistent (durable within the grid) but not immediately
    visible on at least another node within the cluster assuming Coherence is using the
    grid itself as a transaction log service.What I wrote is how the TransactionMap API documentation describes it.
    I believe, the idea behind it is that the commit phase writes data to the underlying cache with putAll and removeAll operations which are supposed to be fail-safe and are not waiting for any other threads if the client owns the locks for the entries, even in case of cluster node failures.
    With the transaction consistency and isolation verified in prepare() and all relevant locks owned, there is no transactional reason why the commit could fail. The only possible causes of failure are disastrous conditions or errors in write-through cache store operations preventing success of the putAll/remove operations (or coding errors in serialization/deserialization/indexed-methods).
    If not then how would Coherence ensure the commit would be successfully executed
    after a voting to commit during the prepare phase even in the event of a failure
    occurring before commit. The TransactionMap 2PC is not supposed to be interleaved with other 2PC operations. It is supposed to work only above the Coherence caches (actually you can add one 1PC operation between the TransactionMap prepare()-s and TransactionMap commit()-s, if you implement CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection manually).
    Full XA is not supported over the caches by Coherence.
    The XA-related stuff I mentioned is when you use the Coherence CacheAdapter to enlist Coherence caches under a JTA transaction. However in this case the caches together act as a 1PC resource (JCA LocalTransaction mode) from the JTA TransactionManager-s point of view and you do not see anything from it being internally 2PC.
    In this case, the JTA transaction 2PC operation proceeds as follows:
    1. All real XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are prepared. After this point all JDBC changes over an XA-driver JDBC connection are flushed to the database, so all locks to be acquired are acquired.
    2. If all were prepared successfully, then the transactional caches enlisted under the JCA Adapter are committed together with code equivalent to CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection(). The transactional caches are practically TransactionMap-s wrapped in two or three layer of wrapper objects.
    3. If the CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection() succeeded, then all the XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are committed. All JDBC locks are released only at this point.
    Why I mentioned XA and locks and TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL in this thread at all is that if you modified equivalent entries in Coherence to what you modified in XA JDBC, then you don't in fact need to lock those entries in Coherence, because equivalent locks with a broader lifetime are existing in the database. TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL allows you to do just that.
    Hope this clears this up, but feel free to ask if it does not.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    </h:body>
    </html>h3. Summary of change
    You can see here that I simply moved all of the content between the form tags from the original XHTML to a separate XHTML, and included that separate XHTML using <ui:include>.
    h3. Result
    7) Deploy and access testWithInclude.jsf from browser, and I get:

    I think I may have found a workaround.
    In the XHTML file that is included and using the composite component, add the namespace as part of the custom component, like so:
    <aas:messagetooltip xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite" for="id2"/>So that it now becomes:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
          xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
          xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
          xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
          xmlns:a4j="http://richfaces.org/a4j"
          xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich"
          xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite">
        <ui:composition>
           <table>
                <tr>
                    <td><aas:messagetooltip xmlns:aas="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/aas-composite" for="id2"/></td>
                    <td><h:outputLabel>Input 2: </h:outputLabel></td>
                    <td><h:selectOneMenu id="id2"
                            required="true"
                            requiredMessage="Cause of Death is required"
                            value="${death.causeOfDeath}">
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="" itemLabel="-- Select One --" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD01" itemLabel="Cancer" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD02" itemLabel="Diabetes" />
                           <f:selectItem itemValue="COD11" itemLabel="Other" />
                        </h:selectOneMenu>
                    </td>
                </tr>
           </table>
           <h:commandButton id="submit" value="Submit"/><br/>
        </ui:composition>
    </html>I tried this after finding a similar bug about nested composite components, which I do not use, but thought I would give it a try:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10898906/myfoo-tag-library-supports-namespace-http-java-sun-com-jsf-composite-mycom
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9735593/nested-composite-component-broken-in-jboss-7-1-1
    Have to keep track of all these workarounds that I am doing.
