Navigating search results

I created a Form and Report pages using the wizard.
I put some additional filters on the Search page.
I enter the filters, click Go to get, say, 10 records in my resultset. Each record would have that Edit icon next to it.
I would like to Click on the first record, go to the Form page, edit the record and do a Save/Next (or Previous) to go to the corresponding record within the search results on the report page. Also, the Form page should show some informative text like 'Editing record 5 of 10 found" or something like that.
How can I do this? I looked at the builtin Get Next/Previous key processes but couldn't quite figure out how to apply them to this situation.
Thanks

Hm, the builtin Get Next/Previous key values process does seem to do the job with some modifications.
See http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:26
Enter a SAL and hit Enter. Results where SAL > the entered sal will be shown.
Clicking the Edit icon will go to the form page which has the Next/Previous buttons.
The changes I had to make to the Get Next/Previous form process was to change the URL redirect for the Next/Previous buttons to a simply doSubmit(...). I also changed the Branch point for the Before Computation branches the wizard created to After Processing.
I also had to enter the same WHERE clause on that Get Next/previous process as I have on my query region so as to keep them "in sync" :P26_SAL is null or sal > :P26_SALNow my only question is:
What is the "Navigation order" attribute on that Get Next/Previous value process? What does it control?
So if I order my report page by say SAL, I need to set the Navigation order for this process to SAL so that the user will think that the next/previous buttons are actually navigating the report search results?
Thanks

  • Search Results Web Part, Managed Navigation and Paging

    I am using managed navigation and have a search results web part that uses the Term.IdWithChildren as the query to filter the results by the selected navigation term. This works nicely until you need to us the paging. As soon as you go to the next page there are
    no results.
    It would appear that as soon as the URL has the #k=#s=11 added it looses the navigation term. This is a core part of the Sharepoint solution that I'm delivering and I cannot progress this any further and I'm going round in circles. I have another results
    page that has the search results webpart on but doesn't use the navigation term filtering and the paging works fine.
    As an alternative I was looking at writing my own search results web part, can I do this and render the sharepoint display templates somehow?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart,
    i suppose you may need to check your design regarding this custom coding,
    as i know, when i tried previously, i didn't take any attention on the query result, so that it appear as no result.
    please have a check this links, it helped me once,

  • How to display the detailed navigation with the Search Results

    Hello Gurus,
    I was able to display the search results in the same frame rather than opening the new window and getting it displayed. Now when the search results are displayed, my detailed navigation and portal favorites etc.. all the iviews are automatically suppressed.
    Please help me displaying the search results with Navigation Panel.
    Regards
    V.

    Hi Vaibhav,
    What do you mean by suppressed?
    Is it gone, or just closed?
    If it is just closed, you can try 2 things:
    1. Check if the property "Initial State of Navigation Panel" of the page has any influence.
    2. There is a javascript method that opens it.
    You can see it by importing the file '<b>com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.par.bak</b>'.
    Navigate to
    System Administration -> Support -> Support Desk -> Portal Runtime -> Browse deployment
    then the folder
    ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd
    and press download.
    Import from par to Developer Studio, and check the javascript files under dist/PORTAL-INF for a function called something like 'expandTray'.
    Hope that helps,
    Yoav.

  • Show Quick Launch (Side Navigation) in Search Results page

    Hi,
    I created a custom search results page in a site (under Pages library). In this page the Quick Launck (side navigation) is hidden. Any solution to display it?
    keren tsur

    You can try this:
    1. Edit page
    2. Create a custom text file and insert the following CSS, which will make the Quick Launch menu visible:
    <style type="text/css">
    #s4-leftpanel {
      display:inherit!important;
      width:155px!important;
    .s4-ca {
      margin-left:155px!important;
    </style>
    Save the file, naming it showQuickLaunch.txt. Store the text file in the Style Library or on the server.
    3. Insert a Content Editor Web Part on the page in which you want to hide the Quick Launch menu. Edit the Web Part, entering the link to the showQuickLaunch.txt file.

  • Issue while navigating through a search result link

    Hello Experts,
    We are facing a strange issue in our IC Web Client UI.
    After an account is confirmed, and a wild card search is done on the Product Search work centre, a number of results are displayed in the list view below ( which extend to more than one page). The search result has a particular field 'Generic ID' which is a navigational link, and further filters the search results when clicked on it.
    The issue is, if the Generic ID is clicked from one of the serach result in page 1 or 2, it takes the control to the next stage filtered search result page 1. But if the Generic ID is clicked from any other page other than the first two, it takes the control to the next stage filtered search results page 2.
    I have debugged both the scenarios but there's no difference in the behavior of both.
    Any pointers to why this is happening or how it can be solved will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Richa

    Hi Prasenjit,
    Thanks for your inputs.
    I've debugged the scenarios, but I've been unable to locate any pointers to the current page, or the one being navigated to.
    An OSS in this case can't be raised as the link which is being clicked is a customization. Hence, anything after that would probably be because of the customizations made.
    Any pointers to where should I concentrate while debugging to find the current page number?
    Rgds,
    Richa

  • Show search result in Portal navigation context?

    My question is if it is possible to show a search result in the context of the portal navigation?
    After a standard search with TREX a KM-document/folder opens in a new window without any navigation context (and portalframework). We find this not very userfriendly. We use the SAPPortal/KM (NW04 SP17) as an Intranet-solution. The KM-folderstructure is similar to the portal navigation so every folder/document is shown only once in the portal navigation. There is one portal role which contains all the KM-navigation-iViews to the different KM-folders.
    I have searched the forum but could not find any information. Any help/ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Eric Huisman

    Hi Eric,
    We have just made a proof of concept for this and it works. Please understand that this is SUCH a great thing we have implemented that in this special case I won't post details about the solution on SDN - but be sure you can always ask btexx to implement it for you
    The solution does not restrict to KM content, but catches all content displayed within the portal (if you want, restricted to certain roles)!
    If you are at TechEd, we certainly can have a talk about it, also give you a live demonstration. See you in Amsterdam?!
    Best regards

  • Navigation Link not working from save search result

    Hello Experts,
    We have a requirement in our application which is created from scratch, I have implemenetd save search  and its working fine, we have some navigation links in result. these links does not work from save search results moreover it works with normal search.
    Can anybody help me out to achieve it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Madhu Omer

    Hi Madhu,
    If you want to trigger cross-component navigation to an overview page, then the following conditions should be satisfied:
    1. Your last outbound plug calls method fire_outbound_plug( ).
    2. The collection passed in fire_outbound_plug( ) contains two entities - a navigation descriptor as the first entity and a root object of the object you want to navigate to as the second entity.
    In your case, is condition 2 satisfied? You can create a navigation descriptor by calling the following method passing its two mandatory importing parameters as indicated:
    CL_CRM_UI_DESCRIPTOR_OBJ_SRV=>CREATE_UI_OBJECT_BASED(
        EXPORTING
            IV_UI_OBJECT_TYPE = * UI object type of object to which you want to navigate *
            IV_UI_OBJECT_ACTION = 'B'            "for Display
    If you keep debugging the standard outbound plugs, then you will see that at some location, SAP will surely be inserting this navigation descriptor object in the collection as first object in the collection when calling fire_outbound_plug( ).
    If you still can't trigger navigation, please mention the BOL objects you are working with, the component you have created and where you have used it.

  • Disable Navigation framework of BW iview in portal page of KM Search result

    We have BW Bookmarks in KM as Portal pages and recently we implemented search_from_here option for searching bookmarks of the KM folders. Trex index has been created. Search results of Trex displays the links of the searched BW Bookmarks.
    When clicking on these links BW iview is embedded in the Portal page and is displayed along with header framework.
    Is there a way we can customize link in the search result to launch in headerless portal window.
    Tried to maintain Content link parameters option '3' to display in new headerless window of the bookmark and also maintained NavMode=3 option in the content link of the Bookmark properties under access links but didnt work.
    Thanks.

    Resolved by appending NavMode=3 to Content link URL should launch in Headerless Portal window.

  • Why do google search results reset to match the search bar terms when i use the back button?

    Since the update to FF 23, the list of Google search results clears and the on-page search box is reset to match the address bar search box when I hit the back button to re-view the results list after checking a result.
    To see this issue for yourself, set your search provider to Google and make sure Instant is on. Type a search term into the search bar and press enter. A google page appears with your results list. Now, change your search terms or conduct a new search directly from the google page (without using the FF search bar). Click on the first result in the search list, then click the back button to return to the search results so you can check a differest result. As FF goes back to the google page, it will reset the on-page search box to match the FF search bar (although you were no longer on this search) and all search results will disappear, replaced by the message "Press enter to search". Pressing enter reconducts your old search, not the one you were on.
    This is incredibly maddening since searching for something requires frequent use of the back button to check through the list of search results, and then frequently trying the search again with slightly different terms. Although it sounds like a Google issue, it did not occur on the old firefox and has me wanting to revert. I tried to revert to the old search function via the "keyword search" addon, but this did not fix my issue. Is there a way to force FF to go back to the actual google search page I was just on instead of conducting a new google search from the FF search box when I hit the back button?

    In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
    Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

  • Can't see more than 100 search results in Messenger Express 5.2

    Hi,
    I am experiencing some unusual problems in the Web interface, Messenger Express. One of our users has discovered that when a search is carried out against a mailbox, only the 1st 100 results appear. No navigation bars get added to the search result page, which stops you browsing through the search results.
    Has anyone else noticed this, and perhaps come up with a way around it? Have I missed some important config option?
    Yours Sincerely,
    jt

    John, I believe this was fixed in one of the many hotfixes released since the original 5.2 release. You don't indicate which version of 5.2 you're on, so. ..
    I'd either open up a tech support case, and get hotfix 1.24, or at least download 5.2p1, and apply that. 5.2p1 corresponds to 5.2hf0.9, so we've come quite a ways since then.

  • IProcurement - new VO for search results not working properly?

    Greetings
    There is a requirement for the project I´m working, where the search results on iProcurement must be filtered depending on some profiles setted for the user.
    So, basically the search shouldn´t look into ICX_CAT_ITEM_PRICES, but on a custom view that works on that table, but filtering results.
    Unfortunately, that´s not working. I extended the VO (which seems to be SearchResultsVO and ItemDetailParametersVO), so the queries are now pointing to the view. But once the search is performed, the results are not filtered. It´s the very same results as before.
    Am I doing something wrong? There is some cache that works even after the Apache server is restarted? Please I could really use some help on the subject! Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    Thiago

    Thiago,
    Why don't you use a local Jdev setup for substitution process so that testing and debugging is easier.
    Follow these steps for testing locally:
    1. Add your VO to AM.
    2. After extending VO, do the following,
    Right-click on your project in the Navigator pane, and select Edit Business Components Project (or right-click on the project's .jpx and select Edit <project>).
    a. Select the Substitutions section.
    b. From the Available list, select the base object that you want to replace and press ok.
    3. Normally, the BC4J runtime does not read a project's .jpx file. To override this default behavior in JDeveloper so you substitutions can be used, you must do the following to ensure that the classpath contains the .jpx file.
    a. Right-click on your project and select Project Settings.
    b. Then in Configurations | Development | Runner, add -Djbo.project=Name to the Java Options. Note that the Name value is the .jpx file name without the .jpx extension (for example, ExtendLabSolutions). Be sure to include a space between any existing options and the new option.

  • Customize the layout set used when opening a folder in search result list?

    Hi,
    I have created a search result iView that uses a predefined search query to show a list of folders. If I click on a folder <i>(rnd:displayname(contentLink)</i>) its content is displayed in a new window. Here the layout set Consumer Explorer (default profile?) is used.
    I want to use a custom layout set in this window. How can I achieve this?
    Regards,
    Mario

    Hi Mario,
    here the answers:
    > <i>1. Develop an own UI Command where you can give
    > the LayoutSet as a parameter</i>.

    You can either check the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/Implementing%20Flexible%20UI%20One-Step-Screenflow.article">Implementing Flexible UI One-Step-Screenflow</a> tutorial by Thilo Brandt or search here on SDN for "UI Command implementation" examples.

    > How can I find out for which operations/standard

    Normally, as you can see in the above mentioned <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/59bb2eece725498427334e0e21b80c/content.htm">Priority of Settings</a>, whenever the KM Navigation component (com.sap.km.cm.navigation) is opened without a specific layout set the global default layout set is used. As you can give this parameters by different ways (as URL parameter, in the KM Navigation iView configuration, via OTH file definition, hardcoded or configured in the configuration of an UI Command, etc.) it is nearly impossible to find <b>all</b> situation where your users will get this default profile.
    The UI Commands (with selection) you mentioned like "copy","move","create_link" use the configured LayoutSet (ConsumerOnlyFolderSelector) from the KM Configuration (of the command).
    > <i>3. You can also create a Layout Profile and go to

    One idea would be to use the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/0f/764b87dfb948fcb13fd7695e157892/content.htm">Multiple Property Replacement</a> feature by SAP.
    > Can you give me a hint on the other possibilities you

    Of course. One other possibility I have in mind is to work with OTH files. You might also search here on SDN to see how to use them for setting the layout set for specific folder paths.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Using "Restrict by app" in change query causes issues with Search Results

    Hello!
    I am hoping some experienced SP admin can help me out. I am having issues with the relevance ranking for my search results web part.
    I created a Wiki (OOTB) within a site collection and on the home page of the Wiki I was looking to apply a Search Box and Search Results web part for easy searching. I wanted to ensure the search results were restricted to the scope of the pages within the
    wiki. I did the following after adding the 2 web parts:
    Entered edit mode for the page
    Started to edit the Search Results web part
    Under Properties for Search Results clicked on "Change Query"
    Navigated to BASICS and clicked "Switch to Quick Mode"
    For Select Query, picked "Wiki (System)" option
    For Restrict by app, picked "Specify a URL" and input the wiki URL "http://webapp.com/sites/sitecollection/wiki"
    Click OK
    The web part has 6 automatic results when I hit the page. These are the only 6 pages in my wiki. When I search a word or title of a page, they are not ranked in order or relevance. The ordering is static to what was being shown before the search, but the
    keywords I'm searching are bold. With out the taking the steps above, I can easily search these pages and have them ranked appropriately so I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong.
    Other Details
    The pages have been crawled and can be searched from anywhere else in SP.
    I am only a site collection admin for this specific site collection.
    I other than the steps above, I have not made any changes or customization to the search web parts; they are both out of the box SP.
    The SP Farm admin we unable to pin point what the root cause is either.

    Hi Mikael,
    Sorry for the wait, I was unable to post pictures, which i felt would better describe my issue.
    Could you output the query template you are ending up with?
    If you can tell me how to accomplish this, then I can provide it. Please keep in mind that I am only a site collection admin.
    Also, is the ranking/sorting for your webpart set to ranking?
    When looking at the web part settings, I didn't see an option to modify the ranking. Unfortunately, some sites in my intranet are down now so I can't even double check. Once it's back up, I will verify this as well.
    And how do you know they are ranked incorrectly?
    I wanted to display an image showing what I meant by this. As the wiki is down, I'll do my best with words. When I visit the wiki home page, I already have the search and search results web parts there. Without searching anything, the search results
    web part displays 6 pages that are available in the wiki. When I search, I expect to see the most relevant result at the top. similar to the following:
    *Search result from another section of the intranet site.*
    What I receive instead is the same list of wiki pages, in the same order. The most relevant result
    is not moved to the top like in the image above, but I can see that the word "rush" is highlighted in bold. I hope this helps.
    If you need more of a description, please let me know.
    Thank you

  • Rh9:Unable to view PDF files from search results in Firefox

    Is this a Firefox plug-in issue, rather than a Robohelp issue?
    Background info:
    Using Rh9
    Firefox 23.0 (latest version)
    Works successfully in Chrome (latest version) and Microsoft IE 8 and IE 9
    Using Firefox, I am able to view the test PDF file from within a topic, via a hyperlink. Unable to view the test PDF when it appears within the search results.
    Failure behavior
    Information message appears at the top of the screen, indicating that "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly."
    A button appears: "Open with Different Viewer"
    In the main frame, the page is blank except for the Adobe Viewer controls: i.e., zoom, page navigation, download, print, ....
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    -bruce.

    I think it is an Acrobat issue. I have seen it and with PDFs not linked to Fm or Rh. Sometimes you can see the issue and sometimes you don't. I also have Nitro PDF and that displays the PDF without problems.
    If it is a PDF you create, I guess you could try some different settings or use something else to create it to see if the problem goes away.

  • How do I change color of hyperlink search results in WebHelp Pro?

    I'm trying to figure out how to change the color of search result hyperlinks when using WebHelp Pro in RH8. The links currently are vibrant blue and purple after clicked on. I can't find anywhere in the style sheet or in the skin editor options to define this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    In your .css file, use something like the following; the "A:" would be your default link, and the "A.topic:" would be a different class of link (we use it for some in-topic navigation links). Note that the order in which the qualifiers appear is important. Follow the LoVeHate method (Link, Visited, Hover).
    Feel free to try it and use your own combinations (you might not want the expanded letter-spacing, for example). We also reversed the underline format from the default html (none for link and visited, underline for hover).
    A:link,
    A:visited {
    color: #0000CD;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: none;
    A:hover {
    color: #000080;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: underline;
    You would add the class=topic qualifier to your links for this class of link (a class=topic href="targettopic.htm")
    A.topic:link,
    A.topic:visited {
    color: #0000CD;
    font-size: 8pt;
    font-weight: normal;
    margin-left: 10px;
    margin-top: 0pt;
    margin-bottom: 0pt;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    text-decoration: none;
    A.topic:hover {
    color: #000080;
    font-size: 8pt;
    font-weight: normal;
    letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
    margin-top: 0pt;
    margin-bottom: 0pt;
    margin-left: 10px;
    text-decoration: underline;
