NAVIGATION GLITCH

Can anyone enlighten me as to why this glitch is happening on
a website I designed?
Please go to
http://www.boulevardpropertiesllc.com
Why does the "Welcome" page continually pop up during page
transitions on button release?? In some browsers it pops up for an
instant, others as long as 30 seconds before opening the next page
which will cause my audience to abandon the site.
It seems as if each new page takes long to load so during the
interim my "welcome" page fills in the blank. Each page is an
external .SWF which I thought was the most efficient way to build a
Flash site thereby avoiding long pre-load times. The largest size
of any .SWF is 280KB. That doesn't seem too large to load in an
instant. I'm using the first version of FlashMX. Any
advice??

The first page has an "ENTER" button which links to a "HOME"
page which has six additional buttons linking to various other
pages. All of the pages are external .SWF's. The code route for all
buttons is BROWSER/NETWORK>LOAD MOVIE which prompts me to enter
URL and level:
on (release) {
loadMovieNum("blvdProp_home2.swf", 1);
I use level 1 for each .SWF so it automatically bumps the
previous page out. All of this works except that the initial
"ENTER" page reappears for 1 to 5 seconds during the transition
from one page to another upon release of a button. Here's the site

  • Page navigation glitch

    Hi
    I have one course that is not behaving itself. About 10
    slides in I have a slide with a flash animation running in the
    corner - There are several animations (using AS2) previous to this
    with same settings and behaving well. On this slide though when I
    click next page - the page opens as normal and then a second later
    everything fades out and it jumps back to the first title slide.
    I've tried copying the slides into a new file, removing all
    objects from the slide but still the glitch occurs. I also get what
    looks like a white brush stroke blotting out a region of the title
    slide when it re-opens as though there is an undefined white blob
    on the slide, this object reoccurs in a couple of slides.
    Anyone getting the same - is this another bug to raise?
    Nick.

    Hi Nick
    Double check the slide where that's happening as well as the
    next slide. You want to look at the Slide Properties.
    Captivate 4 added new capabilities here. There are actions
    that may be assigned to be carried out on slide entry as well as on
    slide exit. I'm thinking perhaps you have a slide that has an
    action configured to restart.
    Cheers... Rick

  • IBolt dock w/ music and navigation enabled - Line out speaker glitch

    This has happened 4 times since the JB update when in the car dock mode while cradled in the iBolt.
    connection:
    - cradled in iBolt dock
    - connect line out to vehicle input jack
    - enables car dock mode
    steps:
    - play a music app
    - start navigation app
    - proceed to destination
    trigger:
    - line out connection glitches when voice navigation speaks
    symptoms:
    - sound starts to come out of phone speakers and line out stops
    - sound comes out of both phone speaker and line out simultaneously

    I believe this problem is partially due to an  improper reload I was just notified of. I have reset the timeouts to 70,  and although I am still unsure as to why two of the phones reset to 10  (most likely causing this issue), the issue seems to be solved for the  moment, hovwever I will keep this thread open to any suggestions in case  this solution in fact does not solve the issue. The real test will be  the business day tommorow .

  • Just upgraded  iWeb app to version 3.0.4 from an iLife 11 disk. I like some of the newer features but it seems to have one glitch: when I upload the pages to my ftp server, the automatic navigation bar at the top of the page disappears. Any ideas?

    Just upgraded my old iWeb app to version 3.0.4 from an iLife 11 disk. I like some of the newer features but it seems to have one glitch: when I upload the pages to my ftp server, the automatic navigation bar at the top of the page disappears. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Looks like a couple scripts are missing:
    If you republish the entire site iWeb should recreate these for you...
    I don't use the built-in navigation. I usually just create my own:

  • Navigator Bar Glitch

    I have an old version of DreamWeaver (4), so maybe that's the
    problem. I have my menu bar set exactly the way I want it and it
    basically functions properly, but whenever I move my mouse
    vertically off a button instead of horizontally, the button image
    doesn't pop back to the original like it does when I move
    horizontally. Any clues?
    By the way, my menu is horizontal.

    There are a number of different approaches you can take.
    1. Create a Navigation Page
    This could be for the purposes of a creating a banner and/or a vertical navigation bar
    You can create a Navigation Page in much the same way you would create a regular page in verison 2 - of component portlets and items in their region. You could add a logo, a search portlet, sub page link etc.
    Navigation Pages get exposed as portlets and may be added to any other page (privileges accepting)
    There a couple of bugs with Navigation Pages including the inability to align each region next to each other without any white space. This is currently being addressed by Oracle.
    2. Create a Template
    You could create a page template - again in the same manner as you would create a regular page. Here, you can add as many regions as you like and specify the exact format for your page. This template could include a region for a banner and a region for a navigation bar (whether the banner and navigation bar regions are portlets based on Navigation Pages or item/portlets added directly is up to you).
    Each region may be set so that when a page is created and based on a region either:
    a. Users can add content to the region
    b. Users cannot change the content of the region
    So option b. would be suitable for your banner and navigation bar regions wheras option a. suitable for a region where you want users to be able to add documents, reports etc.
    Templates are great for enforcing a style to your page whilst allowing user flexibility to add their own content.
    Templates may be set to be a default for a page group if necessary. Also, there a couple of bugs with these too, i.e, when unzipping content into a page based on a region.
    I hope this helps you to get started.
    Cheers,
    John

  • Annoying glitch in jdev navigator window (jdev903)

    Hi,
    an easily reproducable, but annoying problem:
    A. Workspace selection
    1) Open 2 workspaces.
    2) Left click on one of them (so it is selected) (workspaceA).
    3) Now rightclick the other workspace (workspaceB). The context menu now shows the wrong Rebuild options (for workspaceA), which could easily fool you in to
    compiling the wrong workspace.
    4) Now rightclicking workspaceA again now displays Rebuild workspaceB, so the workspace was selected by the previous rightclick, but apparently the
    contextmenu's are triggered to soon.
    B. Project selection
    With project righ-clicking, the context menu is almost right (if you look closely, you can see the contextmenu switch project after it is displayed though) if you perform the above instructions on 2 projects in stead of workspaces.
    The problem is not fully ok here though either. Although the context menu shows options of the correct project, it lacks several menuitems, like 'Edit business components project'. This one only shows up if you performed a left-click first, or rightclick twice.
    Greetings,
    Ivo

    Thanks for reporting the problem. Indeed annoying. It is already fixed
    in 9.0.4.

  • I am trying to create a website online. The sitebuilder does not have it's navigation bar. It does with Internet Explorer

    I am using 2 website builders online -Leagueapps and Teamthing - to build a sports league management site. Both have wysiwyg pagebuilders. Both are missing the navigation/menu bar.
    I tried Internet Explorer and the navigation/menu bar is there. However I get lots of pop up advertisements even though pop up blocker is enabled.
    I prefer Firefox as a browser and would welcome any advice as to how to rectify this glitch.

    Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, so you'll need to install 32-bit Java for Firefox.
    No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

  • Win 8.1 update - sound popping / glitch in MetroTube and all APPS when scrubbing video

    My phone Nokia 1020 was working fine. I then downloaded the over the air update for Win 8.1 and Cyan on Thursday 7th August from O2.
    Since then I have experienced a loud popping / static noise when playing video in all apps (except StoryTeller)
    Using built-in speaker:
    When I play video in any App with a video scrubber and I scrub the time-line and realise the scrubber it makes a loud click or static pop.
    It happens in everything including:
    Mytube
    Metrotube
    Tubepro
    Photos App (i.e Microsoft one - playing a recorded video in they all now have a loud click / static pop)
    Xbox Video App (i.e Microsoft's own App)
    Using Headphones:
    There is no load click (It plays how it used to)
    The odd bit is using the speaker and playing music tracks (mp3s etc) and scrubbing there is no static popping click it plays fine.
    Video In Web Browser Fine:
    Playing YouTube Videos in the web brower there is no popping / static click noise.
    I have just downloaded 'xVideo' App and played a HD Music video in it and used scrubber and there is NO loud click.
    Sound Glitches in Audio Clips at end of recordings in all these Apps:
    Babbel - Learn Spanish
    Coolang - Learn Spanish
    Zeemish - Learn Spanish for Beginners
    its really annoying and makes trying to listen and remember pronunciation of words difficult and frustrating. Phone was ok before Microsoft Windows 8.1 update now have this issue and issue with static build-up causing popping when fast forwarding through
    videos. :( I am feed up
    Conclusion:
    This is software bug? please can anyone help/advise me on how to fix this and if anyone else is having same glitch with 8.1 update :(
    All I can think of to fix is to somehow downgrade to Windows 8 if that's possible? :( *update its not possible using Nokia Recovery as it puts back Win 8.1.
    It is a Software bug introduced in Windows Phone 8.1 update. It effects everything! including
    Microsofts own Video Xbox App and
    Photo App. See other people frustrations on this issue, its been going on since April!!!! please can you fix this is ruining my Windows Phone experience:

  • Glitch when adding video to a PDF

    I've successfully added a video to a multi-page PDF using Acrobat X by linking to a URL as opposed to embedding the video file. My problem occurs when I navigate to the page immediately before or after the page that the video is located on.
    The first time I navigate away from the page that the video is on, an outline of the video frame will be visible on the following (or preceeding) page. When I move past that following (or preceeding) page and back to it again, the frame will be gone. When I return to the page that the video is on, and then navigate away from it again, the same problem will occur on the immediately following (or preceeding) page.
    I am linking to an external video via URL as opposed to embedding the video file in order to keep the PDF file size as small as possible. Embedding actual video files will not be an option, as there will be multiple videos in this PDF.
    I have set the "Enable When:" option to "The page containing the content is visible" in order to not require viewers of the PDF to have to click on the video to activate its player functionallity.
    I have also set the options to "Disable When: 'Disable Content' is selected from the context menu".
    If I choose "Disabel When: The page containing the content is not visible" or "The page containing the content is closed", there is an unacceptable delay in page navigation functionality when navigating away from the page that the video is located on.
    "Playback Style:" is set to "Play content on page".
    "Border Width:" is set to "No border".
    Is this frame visibility glitch on pages immediately surrounding the page that video content is located on a known problem, or is there some setting that needs to be activated to prevent this from occuring? If this is a known problem, is there any sort of workaround to negate it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Interesting conversations have been spawning from my initial request.
    For clarification my specific issue has to do with .swf only. Flash is supposed to be a universal play. right. Doesn't matter PC or MAC it should run when played as an video.swf file, anywhere provided that the appropriate flash application software is installed on the computer.
    I have an adobe.pdf with an embedded video.swf in it, that was created on a Windows PC, but I want it to be able to be open and view the adobe.pdf file and it contents on a MAC.
    When I send these PDF files to MAC users, granted they are not the kind of "MAC users" that would be talking in this Forum, they can open the Adobe.dpf but they have issues playing the embedded .swf within.
    If you want more information on my application you can visit profile
    at myspace.com/videoaresume
    I am finding that Flash technology is very tempermental no matter with computer type you are using.
    So, I set my goal if I can get my application to run 90% I am successful.
    I have had three MAC users try to view my Adobe.pdf file with video, 2 could not run it.
    If anyone has a MAC and wants to be able to give me feedback on whether you can open my file and play the video email me, I would be greatly appreciated.

  • Spry Navigation 2.0 - Spacing for div for nav bar

    Hello:
    I am once again working on an navigation bar that renders somewhat differently in various browsers (problems with IE 8 & 6).  The navigation is to fit into a div that is bordered by a gold coloured border top and bottom (top border is attached to the header).  The problem is one of calculating the appropriate height based on the settings for the custom nav css file.  I have taken the font size, padding (top and bottom) and border (top and bottom) together with padding on the overall container of the nav bar.  Accordingly I have set the height of the navigation container div at 41px.  In most browsers this works fine, however there are some glitches that cause excess white space to appear either above the navigation bar or below it, thus separating the border from the navigation bar.
    The url for the site is http://socls.org/PCLC-testing/CorePages.html
    I have included the css for the custom nav settings, and the css relating to the navigation in the general css file as well as a screen shot of IE 8.
    Thanks for any help in advance.
    Steve.
    The custom nav css is as follows:
    @charset "UTF-8";
    /* CSS Document */
    /* BeginOAWidget_Instance_2141544: #MenuBar */
    /* Settable values for skinning a Basic menu via presets. If presets are not sufficient, most skinning should be done in
        these rules, with the exception of the images used for down or right pointing arrows, which are in the file SpryMenuBasic.css
         These assume the following widget classes for menu layout (set in a preset)
        .MenuBar - Applies to all menubars - default is horizontal bar, all submenus are vertical - 2nd level subs and beyond are pull-right.
        .MenuBarVertical - vertical main bar; all submenus are pull-right.
        You can also pass in extra classnames to set your desired top level menu bar layout. Normally, these are set by using a preset.
        They only apply to horizontal menu bars:
            MenuBarLeftShrink - The menu bar will be horizontally 'shrinkwrapped' to be just large enough to hold its items, and left aligned
            MenuBarRightShrink - Just like MenuBarLeftShrink, but right aligned
            MenuBarFixedLeft - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedLeft', and left aligned.
            MenuBarFixedCentered -  - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedCentered',
                            and centered in its parent container.
            MenuBarFullwidth - Grows to fill its parent container width.
        In general, all rules specified in this file are prefixed by #MenuBar so they only apply to instances of the widget inserted along
        with the rules. This permits use of multiple MenuBarBasic widgets on the same page with different layouts. Because of IE6 limitations,
        there are a few rules where this was not possible. Those rules are so noted in comments.

                                                    MenuItem, and MenuItemLabel
                                                    at a given level all use same definition for ems.
                                                    Note that this means the size is also inherited to child submenus,
                                                    so use caution in using relative sizes other than
                                                    100% on submenu fonts. */

    * Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element for selection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu" (MenuItemWithSubMenu),
    * giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.
    * Unfortunately IE6 does not support using mutiple classnames in a selector for an element. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6 ignores
    * all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets the specificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs as significant. To get around this
    * problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'.
    * Since there are a lot of these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes for modern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class
    * syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where
    * it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden.
    * So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule.  We follow this with the single-class rule that it would
    * mistakenly override, making sure the  misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins.
    * We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for
    * the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the
    * css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support.
    * If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these, as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js script.
    * The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by  the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser is Internet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditional comments for these rules.
    .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .MenuBarView .MenuItemWithSubMenuHover .MenuItemLabel /* IE6 selector  */{
        background-color: #3b4b8d; /* consider exposing this prop separately*/
        color: #fefefe;
    .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .MenuBarView .SubMenu .MenuItemWithSubMenuHover .MenuItemLabel/* IE6 selector  */{
        background-color: #3b4b8d; /* consider exposing this prop separately*/
        color: #fefefe;
    .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .SubMenu .SubMenu  /* IE6 selector  */{
        margin-left: -0px; /* Compensates for at least part of an IE6 "double padding" version of the "double margin" bug */
    /* EndOAWidget_Instance_2141544 */
    The css for the page in general (as it relates to the navigation bar) is:
    #main_nav_contents {
        width: 960px;
        height: 41px;
        position: relative;
        padding-left:0px;
        border-bottom: 3px solid #C56F2C;

    Hello Again:
    Based on some recalculations I realized that with a font size of 17px, 6px padding (top and bottom = 12px) and 3 px border (top and bottom =6) that the height of the nav container should be 35px;  I have change the general style sheet to reflect that change, but still have rendering problems accross browsers.
    To perhaps add clarity, the following is a screen shot of how it appears in most browsers, and how I intended it should look.
    Thanks (again) in advance for any help that can be offered.  Steve.

    Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    Now, does your trackpad work?

  • Spaces Glitch- looking for advice

    I've been running Leopard on 5 machines for about a month, and I've noticed this weird thing on all of them. Essentially it has to do with some kind of glitch where Spaces makes applications become "detached" from their windows,.
    It normally happens when going back and forth between an app and the Finder, or between 2 apps. But you can "force" it to occur:
    Make sure you have at least 2 apps running in different spaces, each with an open document. Let's say Safari is in Space 1 and Text Edit is in Space 3. Navigate to Space 2, and select the Finder in the Dock (or command-tab to it). Open a new finder window. Then drag that Finder window over to Safari's space by dragging it to the left edge of the screen. As expected, the space will "slide" and your Finder window will now be sharing the Space with Safari.
    Next, command-tab over to Text Edit. You will see that your menubar has switched to Text Edit, but the document it is running will not appear- Safari's windows will still be displayed. That's it- the glitch has occurred. From then on, cmd-Tab and/or Dock-selecting an app will only change the menubar, and not actually "swoosh" you to the desired app and bring up its associated documents.
    In this example, the only way now to see Text Edit's document, afaik, is to "force" the Mac to the new space: either by selecting Text Edit's space in the Spaces menubar item, or using a hot corner to show all spaces and manually navigating to it. Once it's occurred, only a reboot seems to fix it.
    I realize my example of dragging a window from one space to another may not constitute normal operation, and some may argue that the dragging function hasn't been completely debugged. But, I can say for sure that the glitch does occur even without doing this "torture test"- it's just hard to pin down, other than it happens when you do a lot of switching between apps and the Finder and creating new Finder windows.
    This article <http://www.applelinks.com/index.php/more/runningonyx_19_settles_leopard_spaces_glitch_down_os_x_odyssey907/> advises running the utility Onyx every so often and refers to "some glitchy behavior" in Spaces. But it's a little vague and doesn't say which of Onyx's utilities actually fixes it. The article is more about the virtues of Onyx than it is about Spaces.
    I do avoid dragging windows from space to space, but during the course of a work day I might switch to the Finder a hundred or more times; it's virtually guaranteed to happen.
    If anyone has any experience with this, or better yet, knows how to avoid it, I'd love to know. Spaces is probably my favorite part of Leopard- and it drives me bananas to not be able to rely on it.
    Thanks for reading!

    Good morning, I think your manipulation of Spaces is fine. You should reset the Pram once in a while to its default setting. Running Disk Permissions is also a good tool on occasion. Directions for Pram: Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
    Hope this helps a bit, and it cannot hurt, it's non-invasive.
    Ray

  • Navigation issue

    Hi,
    the problem with my iweb site is that when one is browsing through different pages it works just fine but if you try to return to the product page again (product photographs are placed here) it won't open up.
    You have to go to another page & then when you return to it, it'll open up....
    this is causing quite a bit of problem...
    How do i solve this glitch???
    Thank You.

    you seem to have another directory "folder" for this particular link:
    http://www.almarilifestyles.com/AlmariLifestyles/Our_Treasures/OurTreasures.html
    I was able to navigate back and forth but I am running the latest version of Safari & in firefox now the link was a little hard to get it to select but, it did work. Not, sure if the additional directory might be the issue or not.
    Custom navigation might be the answer:

    I have a navigation list based on a query but it has some extended lines at the bottom, what CSS code should work in order to solve this problem? i don't have a CSS knowledge about this one..CSS needs something to style, so the presence of the additional lines may indicate that there is additional mark-up. Suggest you replicate the problem on apex.oracle.com or post the generated HTML source for the region here.
    Additionally your sample image contains other visible glitches on the buttons. This may indicate that the problem is in your browser rather than the APEX CSS. Which browser(s)/version(s) exhibit the problem?
    Please also always provide basic information relevant to your problem that will help others to understand or replicate it, generally:
    - APEX version
    - DB version and edition
    - Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener)
    - Browser(s)/versions(s) used
    - Theme
    - Template(s)
