Need code to communicate with Kodka ES camera

I have a Kodak (Roper) ES 1.0 camera. I have IMAQ for LV 6 and using a PCI 1408 framegrabber. I opened up Labview, and used the example as shown on the Kodak manual I found off NI. Nothing works. I pull open MAX and I don't see a PCI 1408 card that is installed on the PC (BTW, this is a Windows NT machine). I thought it would reconginize the card and install like it has for later versions of MAX so I'm wondering if I'm missing something. What I need is to get the attributes on the camera using the serial port and possibly set the attributes if needed. Is there something else needed in order to install the PCI 1408 card so MAX will find it and I can use it on LV 6?

Hi Guilio,
It looks like you're using some old stuff! What version of IMAQ are you using? Does it appear in MAX as installed? If so, you want to make sure you do installations in the following order: LabVIEW, IMAQ driver, insert PCI card. Make sure the driver is installed and showing under "Software" in MAX before you insert the PCI card in there. Of course, you want to insert the PCI card in the machine when the machine is off.
In addition, do you know if your PCI card is appearing in Windows Device Manager?

Help! My Mac doesn't communicate with my DV camera!

I need some help setting up my DV camera to my Mac Pro. I've done all the things that the help guide and manual tells you to, but it is still unable to communicate with the camera. I've tried changing my capture settings, capture pre-sets and my easy set-up. Please, any advice or guesses would be greatly appreciated!

If you've followed Randy's suggestions above, and you say nothing shows up on the camera's LCD when you're connected (like DV IN), then I might suspect a bad firewire cable.
Remember, the Easy Setup should be chosen first; then you should be capturing into the project with that Easy Setup. If you've chosen the DV NTSC setup, what happens when you open the log and capture window? Does it say "VTR OK" under the view window, or does it say "NO COMMUNICATION?"
If the latter, again, you may have a bad cable. If you're getting the VTR OK, then try controlling the camera with the transport controls in the log and capture window. It should work.

HELP NEEDED CAPTURE DV FOOTAGE WITH HDV VIDEO CAMERA

I'm trying to capture DV video footage I've done years ago with my Sony DCR-HC40E PAl into FCP version 6. with my new camera HDV video Sony HDR-HC7 1080.i/mini dv so I can capture it into FCP but it's jerky, An yone know the setting for both the HDv camera and FCP to get the footage perfect as the rginal video.

From the FCP menu bar: Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup > DV-PAL > OK. (Use DV PAL Anamorphic if you shot wide screen).
Menu bar once more: Sequence > Settings > Set Sequence Preset > OK.
That camera should detect the DV format tape and playback with the correct settings automatically.
All you ned to do is connect it via FireWire and capture.

There is no problem using Labview capturing frames. But i need to capture frames using C Builder. I would be greatfull if you supply me with source code or dll.

I ran the installer for NI-IMAQ 2.5.1, and Borland C++ support is one of the options that shows up in the feature selection step of the installation. In order to program in Borland, make sure this option is selected. I also noticed that no Borland example programs are included with the driver.
Your best option is to install support for Microsoft Visual C++ as well, and to take a look at how those examples were written. They should show up in the "sample" directory once installed. Unfortunately, Borland
is not supported by the current version of IMAQ. I searched for other examples online, but did not find any.
The library file for Borland can be found in the "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Lib\Borland" directory. This file will be needed when programming with Borland. Please refer to the NI-IMAQ User Manual and NI-IMAQ Function Reference for more information.

Camera won't communicate with FCP or Imovie

I apologise if this has been asked a million times before, but I'm on a very tight time crunch, and I think each case is different.
I'm making a montage/video to be shown at a friend's wedding on thursday, and I can't get the freakin camera to communicate with FCP!
I also tried Imovie, and the only thing it recognizes is the built in Isight camera.
I'm running:
OSX 10.4.9
FCP 5.1.9
QuickT 7.1.5
and the camera's a small sony consumer cam (DCR0PC101E PAL)
I've got all my settings right, i've done this before a million times, but for some reason, something is off today.
I haven't used this particular camera on this computer before, I used to use it on my old powerbook (i don't know if it matters, but I'm wondering if this is an intel issue)
Is there a way to check if the computer itself can read my camera... Like if I go to system profiler, should I look under firewire and find the name of my camera or?
Any help you can send my way is deeply appreciated.

From time to time similiar questions pop up here. But, most indicate everything works just fine in iMovie but not FCP. Since iMovie also does not recognize the camcorder, you might have any number of problems.
Do you have access to another camcorder? If another camcorder works just fine with FCP or iMovie, that would narrow your troubleshooting to the DCR0PC101E.
If another camcorder doesn't work, it could be the firewire cable. I'm guessing the cable to the external drive is a 6/6 and the camera cable is a 4/6, so you might also need to try a different cable.

I´m trying to develop an application that can communicate with the camera application in my PDA (Qtek 2020).
In order to communicate with the camera application, I want to use the DDE mechanism.
I would like to know if it is possible to use the DDE VIs in LabVIEW 7.1 PDA Module.
And also, if anyone has already tried to develop some similar application and knows where
can I get information about the communication protocol, so that i can send the correct messages to the camera application.

Is this camera application and your LabVIEW application running on the
client PC or the PDA? If one of them is running on the PDA I'm pretty
sure it won't work. DDE is an old legacy technology and most probably
not supported in Windows PDA OS. And if both applications are not on
the same device it gets even more complicated as then you really would
need NetDDE which always was a hassle to setup and there is probably no
chance that Windows PDA OS would support that.

Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different.

I am trying to use the DIgilent Spartan 3E board with Labvew 2012 SP1 32 bit. I am able to compile the example code for LED shift. I am however unable to transfer code to the FPGA. I get the following error message:
Error Code: -310602
NI-COBS: Unable to communicate with device over communication cable.
Please verify that the cable is connected to a supported device and that the appropriate drivers are installed.
My system configuration is as follows:
Windows 7 (64 bit) on Dell XPS laptop.
Labview 2012 SP1 (32 bit)
Labview FPGA 2012 SP1
Labview 2012 FPGA support for Spartan3E
Xilinx 13.4 tools
DEFB LV FPGA 2012sp1 support installer
Xilinx USB cable driver v1.3 installed.
I took all the precautions mentioned by others on this forum and others, mainly that the cable must be disconnected before installing the Xilinx cable driver. All software and drivers were installed correctly. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Labview software set I had. I still get the same error.
A few other questions:
1. Is the Xilinx cable different from a regular USB cable of the same configuration ?
2. When I program the FPGA I only have the USB cable connected between my computer and the Spartan 3e board. Should any other cable be connected ?
3. What should be the correct jumper settings for J1 - JP30 (especially J30, J11, JP9, JP6, JP7, etc) ?
I have been at this or over 3 days trying to figure it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and do not speak for "Apple Inc."
Some basic printer troubleshooting steps before worrying about a printer driver:
1. Have you tried turning the printer off and back on?
2A. Is the printer attached with a cable?
     If yes, have you tried unplugging and re-plugging both ends of the printer cable?
     If that does not help, can you test the printer with another cable?
2B. If your printer is not connected to the computer with a cable, have you tried restarting your printer (assuming wireless connection)?
     Have you tried restarting your wireless router?
3. Have you tried restarting your MacBook? (Be sure to save your work first.)
4. Does the printer have ink? (Doesn't usually generate a 'communications error' though)
5. Have you updated OS X or the program you're trying to print from recently?

Hello,
It is not very clear what you want to do. For what I understand you have an instrument that you are connecting to a gpib, or serial or tcp port in your computer. Matlab should be able to do the link between VISA and the instrument. Are you using NI-VISA? Are you using LabVIEW or any other software?
If you are using one of our GPIB cards or serial cards, then you would also need the driver for that hardware.
Hope this answers your question. If it doesn�t please provide more description like if you would like to call a Matlab script through LabVIEW or something like that.

It is almost impossible to transfer FCE as there are so many essential hidden files that workers in an Apple Store will know nothing about. The app needs to be installed from the original DVD.
Other than buying another copy your only chance (very remote) is to contact the Apple Store and see if they are able to get a replacement number from Apple.
