Need help assigning 2 values to each choice in a drop down
I'm trying to create a tool for tracking students' grades and credits. There is a drop down menu with A - F as choices, and I assigned export values 4,3,2,1,0. I can then get weighted average by using the simple average calculation in a text field box somewhere else on the page.
What I want to do is also assign grades A-D a value of .5 so that we can keep track of how many credits a student has. Then all I will need is to find the sum in another box.
How do I pull this off? Thank you for your help.
You have to use unique values in a drop down, combo, or list box.
You could sort this out based on the selection made within a JavaScript like a keystroke, on blur action, or in a calculation.

Yes, the best way would be to set your 'Amount' value into the 'Export Value' for each item in the combobox. Then, you can set the calculation for your text field to the following (Be sure to change "ComboBox1" to the name of your combobox):

In a fillable PDF form, can I have choose to have NO default choice in a drop down list... so that a user is REQUIRED to make selection instead?
I've set the question as "required", but the default answer makes this useless.

Similar to what you suggested, I utlimately opted to put a question mark "?" as the default answer - it's just a pity this doesn't address my need for users to be "required" to answer the question. -
Need help with NULL values in Crosstables

I need some help with NULL values and crosstables. My issue is the following:
I have a query (BW - MDX-Query) that gives me turnover measures for each month. In Crystal Reports I choose crosstable to display this whereby I put all month in columns and all turnover-measures in rows. Each month that has a value (measures are not empty) is chown in the crosstables rows. So far so good. The problem occures when there are month that actually have no values (measures are empty). In that case these months are not chown in columns. But I need CR to display these columns and show the value 0. How can I do that?Hi Frank,
Cross tab shows the data based on your column and these column fields are grouped and based on the group it will show your summaries.
If there is no data for any of your group it will not display that group. In this case you will have to create a standard report which should look like cross tab and to get zero values you need to write formulas .
Example if you want to display Moth wise sales :
if Month() = 01 Then
sum() else 0
Now this formula will check if your month is Jan, then it will sum up the values else it will display zero value.
This is possible only through standard report not with Cross Tab.

BTW, "XMLDATA" is a pseudo-column used by Oracle. I don't know if it'll ever cause any conflict but maybe you should rename your column.

Need help getting a value from an XML column

I need to get a value from an XML column in a table (the column is called TEST_XML). I have tried using the Select TEST_XML.value function but it always returns nulls. Could you please take a look at the following xml sample stored in the TEST_XML column

Need Help Please: Audigy2 Value conflict with onboard sound
<SPAN class=postbody>System info: Windows XP Home Edition, 2.4 GHz IntelPent4, 52MB of RAM; DDR 200(33MHz), MSI MS-6547 (645 Ultra) motherboard. I need help! Sigh...well I am trying to put in a Soundblaster Audigy2 into my computer. I am under the impression that I have to disable and remove all onboard sound b/c it conflicts with the new sound card, ?. I currently have onboard sound ( AC97 Audio Controller ). I went to add/remove programs and removed the AC97 from there. I also went to MyComputer/Properties/Hardware/DeviceManager/Sound,Video,andGameControllers/AC97AudioContoller and deleted it. st Question: Under DeviceManager/Sound,Video,GameControllers...Do I need to remove the Legacy Audio Drivers? I know that I have to delete the rest of the drivers for AC97 and out of chance would Legacy be those drivers? I am guessing no...Also, is there anything else that I have to delete for the on board sound program to be gone? 2nd Question: I went to BIOS, and since I have windows XP home edition I think that configuration is a little different from what I read(I wont bore you with that). So, where do I go to "disable" the onboard sound in BIOS for Windows XP HomeEdition? Also, I read something about making sure the "Chip" was disabled but I could be paranoid. Do I need to worry about that? If you made it through all that text I thank you dearly. I hope that I can get some help from someone b/c I know nothing. To fully disable teh onboard audio you would need to go into the BIOS to disable the Onboard Audio chip there. The manual with your motherboard or PC should have more detail on where exactly to find this setting, as it will differ per BIOS type. Generally it should be under a heading like Integrated Peripherals, and should be marked as the Onboard Audio chip, or AC97 Audio.

I need to print two values in the trailer. The sum of all negative quantities where 1 - Trade Date is equal to settle date or record id = 2 and the sum of all position quanties with the same two conditions. Below you can see my xsl but my numbers are coming out incorrect. BTW, the results that are being parsed are coming from a database query return.

Until about 2 days ago, I did not have any problem with my webbased GoDaddy email. Now with your update, I can not put in the first letters of the person nor group I am emailing and choose from my email dropdown list of potential email contacts either individual nor group. Instead, I have to go to the directory, choose who I am emailing, find them by sorting, select them, one by one, and then click done for each one, then go back to the email. What a hassle! I called GoDaddy, they said it is the browser. I have my you with my frequent pins up on this browser. I checked internet explorer, and it works like yours use to work. I click the To: box, start typing the person's name and there is a drop down list that enables me to choose the person or the group. HELP
Sorry I have no solution but this happened to me after Hulu told me to clear my browser cache (history) to be able to watch a video that stopped abruptly (Hulu lied; you rarely need to clear the cache.)
You can back up your browser history to keep this from being a problem in the future. I have a master custom list that has a set of site columns. For each site column there is a lookup to a custom list with reference data. When I edit the list in data entry view all values in drop down fields work fine, but when I customize the form for

According to your description, I try to reproduce your scenario but the lookup field works fine.
When we customize the form for the list in the InfoPath 2013 , it is by design that the Drop-Down List Box control cannot display its value.
For troubleshooting your issue, please take steps as below:
Go to lookup List Box on your form in InfoPath 2013 , right click it and choose “Drop-Down List Properties” from the bottom of your field menu.
Make Sure you select “Get choices from an external data source” and correct Data source.
Make Sure the Xpath of Entries is “d:SharePointListItem_RW” under the dataFields.

Populate a Floating Field from Multiple Choices in a Drop Down List
Hi, folks, it's been a while which means things have been going smoothly. But what I'm trying to do at the moment has me stumped.
I have a form that was originally made with a long section of checkboxes that our agents would check if the answers applied to the client's case. This meant that the client had a whole bunch of information that didn't apply to them on the form so I thought would be clearer for the client if the agent would select only those items that pertained to them in a List Box. I used a List Box for multiple choices because several choices could apply to their case. And I wanted those selections to relayout to a floating text field in a paragraph but for the life of me, I can't seem to make that happen. I tried switching to a Drop Down Field and that allows only one selection to relayout.
The paragrah reads "To proceed, we need the following information or the documents identified below:" and then the 15 items would be listed with the checkboxes.
Any suggestions as to how I should do this?What if you leave them as checkboxes and just put a pre-print event in each of the 15 items to make them visible or hidden based on their value?

Determine number in a field based on word-choice in a drop-down menu
I'm trying to insert a number in a field based on a word I've chosen in a drop-down menu.
Example:
I have a drop-down menu named "Fruits". In that menu is "Orange", "Apple" and "Banana".
I have a different field called "Price". If the user selects "Orange" in the "Fruits" drop-down, the value of "Price" is 10. If the user selects "Apple" the value of "Price" is 15. If the user selects "Banana" the value of "Price" is 20.
Been working with this for awhile, and feel like Im very close, but can't get it to work. If someone could help me I'd be grateful.

I have a number of textual items in a dropdown, let's say "Apples", "Bananas" and "Cherries".
I have an array of form fields, with different properites expressed as a numeric value, say: "Size", "Weight", and "Cost".
Each of the items in the dropdown has a value for each of the fields.
So when I select an item from the drop-down I want to populate the entire array from the values associated with the items in the drop down. Different items will fill the array of values (I actually have 28 properties in the array and about 7 items in the drop-down). The items will always have a value for all the properties in the array, but I want the user to be able to override all entries. So enter custom text in the drop-down, which would provide blank fields in the array, which could also be overwritten by the user.
Hope that makes sense, and I apologize for my earlier attempt at describing this. It's hard enough to do in plain English, there's no way I can make this happen in Javascript, LOL!

I cannot sync HD films purchased on iTunes (on my PC) to my iPad even though it is a shared account. No problem syncing to iPod Classic from PC.
Also there is no 'Film/Video' tag on the drop down menu on the iPad only Music and TV Programs.
Also can't view 'purchased films' on iTunes via iPad.
All Phtos,Music and Video etc is 'Manualy Sync' selected.
Is this all related, please help?Most of my library consists of h.264 videos wrapped in the m4v format, which my converters (Handbrake & mkvtools) says is the Apple TV format. Today I tried coverting a few to mp4 (for iPad) instead, so that I can watch them on multiple devices, but I'm running into the same problem with those that you are.
I tried resetting my ATV as the other responder suggested, but that hasn't helped. I'm still unable to watch h.264 mp4 files, while h.264 m4v's are fine.
