Need help in giving the selection criteria

Hi Guyz,
I have a table with to fields, From_field and to_field and i have a selection screen field s_input.
Now i need to fetch the row where s_input is between from_field and to_field.
I have written the logic as from_field >= s_input AND
                                           to_field <= s_input.
It is not giving the correct results.
Can you suggest an alternative way to giving the condition.
Regards,
Chitrasen

Hi Chitrasen,
can you please bit clear about your requirement.
your input field is S_INPUT , Is It between FROM_DATE and TO_DATE  or You need to fetch the data based on input passed in Selection screen ( LOW and HIGH value ) ?
Logic :
If your Input is a select option , try to write a logic like below.
Where FROM_DATE IN S_INPUT and TO_DATE in S_INPUT.

  • Need help with correcting the select statement

I have two tables mkt & error.
    The fields of mkt are
    app_id (xxx)
    c_mkt_id
    app_mkt_id
The fields of error table are
    mkt_id
intr_id (its in format xxx.yyy or xxx)
    xyz
    abc
    pqr
I have to select * fields from error table such that
->mkt.app_id = error.intr_id (here i am using combination of sbstr & instr to get the part before "." if present)
    ->mkt.c_mkt_id=error.mkt_id
Where ever the above two conditions match i have to replace the mkt_id field in my select * from error table query with the
app_mkt_id field from mkt table. If the above two condtions dont match my select * from error table should return the original mkt_id present in the error table.
I have presently developed a query(*) which selects the app_mkt_id from mkt table where ever the two conditions match.
How should i go about using this to get my actual requirement.
    (*)=select app_mkt_id from mkt where app_id in (select case when case_when=1 then substr(intr_id, 1, instr(intr_id,'.')-1) else substr(intr_id, 1) end from (select intr_id, case when instr(intr_id,'.',1)=0 then 0 else 1 end case_when from error)) and
c_mkt_id in (select mkt_id from error)

    you wrote:
(*)=select app_mkt_id from mkt where ....What is this?
If you are writing PL/SQL the syntax is:
    SELECT ....
    INTO ....
    FROM ....
WHERE ....This seems to be school work and thus you really need to puzzle this out for yourself.

  • InfoSet - Z tables need to be appeared on the selection criteria

    Hi ,
My requirement is to have Z table fields in the selection criteria in an info set.
Currently i have an info set which has only standard SAP fields for selection. I have couple of Z tables whose fields need to be included in the selection criteria. Based on the values selected, report has to be displayed. So i believe some code has to be added for it.
Can you please tell me how to add Z Fields in the query.
    Thanks,
    Sarika.

    Hi Sarika,
Again refer to the above link http://shafiq.us/sap/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54:adhoc-query&catid=41:adhocquery&Itemid=61
Then go to heading "Ad-hoc Queries (Tcode: SQ01)"
Then see Step 6-b, this is where you specify which field will be displayed on selection screen. Follow the steps and I am sure you will be able to complete your requirement.

  • Need to take part of selection criteria out of a custom report (R painter)

    Hi Experts..
I have a requirement to hide cost elements/group which appear as part of selection criteria on our custom report (report painter) for projects.
    1. Why this appears as part of the selection criteria as i did not find this defined in Edit --> General data selection. (I only found  CO area, Valuation, Fiscal year, Period, and Object in there).
    2. We have found a system performance issue when a user put in cost elements for selection. So I am required to take this out. I thought i can just take this out from General data selection.. If I can't find it in there, where would i be able to do that??
    3. Suppose I would hide this selection by creating a screen variant.. I was looking in SHD0
but its not working with our Z T.Code...it display the error message "Variants are possible only for dialog transactions"... This does not seem to work with a custom t-code. Then how would I do this ????
Please help clarify on this ....
    Thanks....

    Hi Monica,
I believe we have an executable report here...
go to se38 -> enter program name -> click on "attributes" button -> display
We can see the type as 'Executable' or 'Modulepool'
generally a selection screen is brought by using keywords 'Parameters' or 'select-options' in Executable programs and with screen in modulepool ..although we can use a combination of both in some cases
    So in your program..
    check for keywords
    'Parameters'/'Select-options'
The best way to proceed is to press F1 on the field that needs to be removed from selection...note the details
    "screen number" and "screen field"
(1)By default screen number = 1000  if it is an executable program
Now see the scrren field ..if it is select-options it will something like field-low or field-high
    so in the report
search for field for cost center and group with keyword starting as parameters or select-options and comment the same
Remember to comment tte fields throughout the program since this field will be used in multiple locations
    (2) if it is modulepool program note the screen number , go the program and screen and remove the field from screen painter and comment the fields where ever used in the program
Also note that using screen variant is a good option but done if user needs specific settings on a report or we need the original report as it is plus additional report with few variations
    Hope it helps
    Pls check and revert

    Byju

  • How to ignore the selection criteria temporary page in print

    Hi Experts,
I use 2007A and when i would like to print example a Trial Balance then the system prints the selection criteria on the first printed page .
How can I delete or ignore this option? There's no need for this print.
I was searching in help files but with no success.
    Thanks,
    Eszter

In Administration > System Initialization > Print Preferences > General Tab
There is a checkbox for "Print SAP Business One Generation Message"
Uncheck it to not print the first page with selection criteria.
Hope this was what you were looking for.

  • How make default values in the selection criteria of BEx query????

    Hi all
I have to create a brand new query, in the selection criteria(Prompts) I have two prompts. one prompt should show current budget year and second prompt should show next budget year, both prompts are mandatory and default.
Can any one please let me know how to obtain current and next budget year??? do I need to write any customer exit or do i need to create a offset???
Two prompts are using same infoobject 0fiscper which is mapped to ECC Table MBEW and field is LFGJA.
    Thanks

    HI sathiyaa,
so you want to show user with two prompts one will show current year and the other next year value by default.
//tell me that if you user change the current year value for ex: it will show 2011 by default.. and user changed it to 2009.
you want to show 2009 year results or 2011 even though he changed the prompt.
Here i'm considering that even though user changed current year to some other year still you want to show the current year results.
Create a customer exit variable for calyear with ready for input (checked).
customer exit code in CMOD :
when ' customer exit var for cal year'
    IF I_step = 1.
    clear l_S_range.
    l_S_range-low = sy-datum+0(4).
    l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
    L_s_RANGE-opt = 'EQ'.
    ENDIF.
    if i_step = 2.
    data: zyear(4) type c.
    zyear = sy-datum+0(4).
    ex: l_s_range-sign = 'I',
    l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
    L_s_range-low = zyear.
    appen l_s_range to e_t_range.
after this create a variable offset
create a new selection in the structure, drag the KF and calyear restricted by current year variable . Copy the same selection and insert it as a new selection, go back to the calyear restriction, right clik on the variable. specify variable offset and enter + 1.
or search in sdn how to create variable offset it will help you

Your syntax is wrong - look at the post above where this syntax is given:
to_char (add_months(r.formdate,12), 'MM/DD/YYYY') "formdate2"Look at the formula from a logical perspective - "inside out" to read what is happening -
    take formdate, add 12 months
add_months(r.formdate, 12)then apply the to_char format mask - basic syntax
    to_char(date, 'MM/DD/YYYY')Compare to your syntax:
to_char(add_months(r.formdate, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),12) "formdate2"You will see your format string inside the call to add_months, and your 12 inside the call to to_char.
    Good luck!

    Hi Lorenz,
Thank you very much for the answer, My colleague, the one who posted the threat is not longer available, he went on hollydays.
We did check TPM12 & TPM13  and the reports said:
    TPM12 : "no positions selected"
    TPM13: "No flows found"
Just to double check that we have understood, which "Migration date"  are you reffering to?
    thank you very much

  • I have tried everything I know to retrieve the iPhoto Library app.  I detest this new Photo app, which obviously wasn't designed with photographers in mind.  I desperately need help in retrieving the old app and have not been able to do it so far.

I have tried everything I know to retrieve the iPhoto Library app.  I detest this new Photo app, which obviously wasn't designed with photographers in mind.  I desperately need help in retrieving the old app and have not been able to do it so far.  I have gone to my app folder and tried to update my iPhoto Library.  I have gone to my trash and brought it over to my desktop and still cannot use it.  Please help!

Try this fix discovered by User photosb189:
From Finder, hold down the option key on your keyboard and click on the Go menu at the top of the screen
Select Library from the drop down menu
Then navigate to Application Support > iLifeAssetManagement > assets
Right click on the 'sub' folder and choose Compress
Drag the resulting zip file to your Desktop (as a backup)
Go to your System Preferences and choose iCloud
Turn OFF the iCloud Photos option
Go back to Library > Application Support and DELETE the iLifeAssetManagement folder
Now, in System Preferences, turn the iCloud Photos option ON
iPhoto should now be able to launch. Give it enough time to re-download your Photo Stream content. if you are missing any of your My Photo Stream photos (more than 30 days old), unzip the sub folder on your desktop and drag that into iPhoto.

  • Need help in finding the number of occurrences of a pattern.

    Hi All,
I need help in finding the number of occurrences of a pattern in a table's column's data.
Consider sample data - one row's column from a table:
    "S-S-S-A-S-S-P-S-S-B-S-A-P-S-S-C"
    My requirement is:
I should get the count of S's which are immediately preceded by A or P.
for the above data i should get count as 3+2+1=6 (S-S-S-A, S-S-P, S-A)
The pattern data is stored as VARCHAR2 type.
    Thanks in advance,
    Girish G

I am sure there exists a better way then this one:
    SQL> with dt as
2  (select 'S-S-S-A-S-S-P-S-S-B-S-A-P-S-S-C' str from dual)
      3  SELECT SUM(Regexp_count(Regexp_substr(str, '(S\-?)+(A|P)+', 1,
      4                                     Regexp_count(str, '(S\-?)+(A|P)+') - (
      5                                                  LEVEL - 1 )), 'S')) len
      6  FROM   dt
      7  CONNECT BY LEVEL <= Regexp_count(str, '(S\-?)+(A|P)+')
      8  /
           LEN
             6

  • Need help in optimising the performance of a query

Need help in optimising the performance of a query. Below is the query that is executed on TABLE_A, TABLE_B and TABLE_C with record counts as 10M, 10m and 42 (only) respectively and it takes around 5-7 minutes to get 40 records:
    SELECT DISTINCT a.T_ID_, a.FIRSTNAME, b.T_CODE, b.PRODUCT,
    CASE WHEN TRUNC(b.DATE) +90 = TRUNC(SYSDATE) THEN -90 WHEN TRUNC(b.DATE) +30 = TRUNC(SYSDATE) THEN -30 ELSE 0 END AS T_DATE FROM TABLE_B b
    INNER JOIN TABLE_A a ON (a.T_ID_ = b.T_ID_) LEFT JOIN TABLE_C c ON b.PRODUCT = c.PRODUCT
    WHERE b.STATUS = 'T' AND (b.TYPE = 'ACTION'
    AND ( TRUNC(b.DATE) + 1 = TRUNC(SYSDATE) ) ) AND b.PRODUCT = 2;
Note: Indices on the join columns are available in the respective tables
Please let me know if there is any better way to write it.
