Need to move to next line, if word is 1 or 2 letters

Hello All,
I'd like to move the words with 1 or 2 letters from end of the line to next line as per our internal requirements, could anyone suggest whether this can be achieved using GREP option or any other advise?

About the punctuation, what I mean is that, eg, it's better to finish a sentence at the end of the line rather than at the beginning of the next line.
I've modified the grep style:
\<.{0,2}[^:.,?!~j]\s.{0,2}
I've excluded the NJ that I'm using if I want to sometimes "relax the rule".
In the first case, the sentence will be cut after "as et" or after "ent a sum fuga."
In the second case, after "as et", after "ent" or after "a sum". If I insert a NJ after "ent".
Always be improved!

Text does not move to next line

at the end of each line of text the cursor is returning to the start of the same line. The text is then writting over the original. by "over" I mean you can see the original text underneath the new.
this also occurs in text boxes.
i would start a new doc but I have spent many hours on this one (10 page brochure)

Welcome to Apple discussions.
It sounds like your line spacing is a bit wacky. Put your cursor in one of the bad lines, then click on the Text inspector > Text. I'm guessing your line spacing is set to less than 1, so that at the end of the first line, the second line overlaps.

Output from dbms_output.put_line splits and move to next line

I am printing out a list using dbms_output.put_line its like
One or more of following Required Parameters are missing:
1. Primary Field
2. Structure Field
3. Structure
Table
4. List File Name
5. Query Directory
6. Query String
but I don't know why third option is splitting and moving to second line. any idea? its not that long even then.

Barcode Reading to next line automatically

Dear Experts.
we implemented Barcode for PO Number in Ecc 6.0.
It is Printing &reading fine.
For reading the Barcode(Bar Text) I designed a module POol Program with Table controll.
But My requirement is while reading , I am getting that bar text in a field.Once After reading one Barcode(One Po), the controll automatically should move to next line.i.e with out touching the Key pad they want to contionuously reading the Barcodes.
And automatiaclly each one bartext come in one line.
Please help to solve this issue.

I hope ur reading the BArcodes using RF guns , if so then u have an Option in the RF GUN to move automatically to next field , u have to check with the RF users to configure and change the settings.

How can I find the words which spans across end of line to next line in pdf ?

I am using Acrobat Adobe X Pro version for our form development and maintanence. I am writting a Acrobat JAVA batch script which reads through all the words and execute spell check and reports the mispelled words in a excel sheet. Since I am running this script in batch mode for more than 1000 pdfs - I am getting many words joined together. When I looked in to those pdfs all such words are looking okay because it is appearing in end of right margin and the next word is in the next line. Since there was no space between them it was extracted as a single word. Hence the failure.
I used wordf = this.getPageNthWordQuads(i,j) to get the word begin and end coordinates. when I closely observe the values are creating a rectangle and that doesnt span across lines. I got the coordinates for the regular word and the word which span acoross two lines. both of the coordinates are same.
I think I am screwed - I have 8000 such words and no clue of how to get rid of them from the actual misspelled words.
please help. let me know if any class /method if I call will give me the end of line or do I need to go to next layer to find this split.
the addnot is somehow marking the words using this coordinates - please hellp me understand how this works. Thanks.

If Acrobat is reading each word part as separate words, you have a problem.
The way I approached it in some of my tools was to check if a word ends
with a hyphen, and if so, to check if it's the last on the line. If both
conditions are true, combine with the next word on the next line. This is
not fool proof, of course, as there are documents with columns are other
structural elements that prevent this from working. Better than nothing,
though...
However, it is also possible that Acrobat does see both parts as parts of
the same word. In that case, getPageNthWordQuads() will return multiple
quads arrays. As you know, that method returns an array of quad arrays.
There's usually only one, but in principle there could be more... Something
to check before giving up.

Knocking single letter words to the next line

Is there a way to have single letter words (talking mainly Polish here) knocked to the next line to prevent having single letter line endings?
Is this something we can do in Indesign or would it need a script?

In most cases you can just select the text and copy/paste. You can do that unless the file is a picture/scan.

How do I make it so a word will drop down to the next line instead of splitting in half with a (-) ex: awes-ome

In Pages it is making words slit in half instead of dropping the whole word down onto the next line. How do I change it so that the whole word goes down?

A word skips to next line even though there's room

I'm currently typing bylaws for an organization. Occasionally, even though there's plenty of room for another word or two on a line, it automatically skips to the next line. I'm finally getting used to Pages thanks to this forum, but this problem is really frustrating me. Thanks.

Drag or copy the file into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder in your library (default location C:\Users\user_name\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media), or add it manually using File > Add File to Library ... If the file is compatible with iTunes it'll be added to your library and can then be synced with your iPad.

Terrible service trying to move a phone line - Not...

Hi,
I have been with my current BT phone line for 2 years and I was very happy with the service I was receiving. Therefore I decided to move my BT line to the new property I am moving into next month. I have called up BT for house moves, which arranged my move including setting up an appointment with an engineer and said that I will receive a confirmation quickly. In the meantime I have not received any confirmation and I was unable to see any order or appointment details online. This left me feeling unsure whether my order really was placed or not. As you can image I do not want to find myself in a situation where I take a day off work waiting for an assistant who is never going to turn up and waste my time having to do this all over again.
To gain some clarity, I emailed the customer service team listing all the details of my phone conversation with the assistant who placed the order and all the details about my account and the place I'll be moving. After a couple of days all I got was a generic response which had nothing to do with my original question. I resend my email asking for clarification and got nothing back. It has been 15 days since I spoke to the assitant and has heard nothing from no one so far. Things get more interesting after this:
Today I tried online chat with an assitant who told me that he can see that my order has been cancelled. When I asked why he said he will call me to explain. When I gave him my number he said "You live in Australia, right?". Which is ridiculous as my account clearly states that I am from the United Kingdom. When I asked him again on the phone why my order has been cancelled he said "Yeah yeah I'll just transfer you to the sales team and they can help you". I was then put on "hold" for 25 minutes waiting for the sales team to pick up my call. When they eventually did the lady who picked up the call said they don't deal with home moves (you can imagine my frustration at this point) and said she will transfer me to home moves which put me on an endless hold.
This leaves me in a sitaution where I have no idea what to do, even the assistants who are supposed to help me are unable to advice me. I think I am going to have to cancel my BT line and have to go with an alternative provider after the (lack of) quality of service I have experienced. The problem is I don't really know if my order has 'really' been cancelled therefore don't want to have to pay any cancellation fees if my order actually hasn't been cancelled.
This is incredibly frustrating as I now have to deal with the stress of moving a house as well as the stress of whether my phone order went through or not.
I am hoping someone here can advise me on what to do as this is my last resort.

After all of this headache I told her to cancel my BT line on a specific date and I no longer wish to move the line to my new address. She also assured me that I do not need to pay any cancellation fees. However in the confirmation I just got sent, I can see this section:

Possible to tell what lines a word appears on?

Hello, want to know how i can tell what lines a specific word appears on with all the words in a matrix.
EX
"I went and
ate
pie because
i am a hungry
person and love pie"
ok, now i have every single word in a seperate cell in a String matrix. Heres what i want to do.
I - 1,4
went - 1
and - 1,5
ate - 2
etc.
How to do it?

i dont need to read the line. Heres what i did, i wrote the words to a file, i used in.readLine() to read the lines. Once i read the lines i used String Tokenizer to get get the plain words. I put those plain words into a matrix and each cell moving down is the next line and each cell moving right is each word. Example:
I went
to the store

cell[0][1]="went"
cell[1][0]="to"
cell[1] [1]="the"
cell[1][2]="store"
now ill say it again... All i want to do is tell me what line# each word has come up in. Refer back to the first example in the first post.

Bulleted list, type breaking to next line

I'm working in ID CS3. I set up a nested style sheet for a bulleted list. However, the type is breaking too soon--there is still space on the line for more text, but it is breaking it. When I backspace the type trying to bring it up, it will do it, but when I add a word space back in, it jumps down to the next line.
It is not doing this with other styles I have set up. I tried changing the style to Adobe Single-line composer, but that didn't help.

Welcome to the paragraph composer. InDesign's text composition engine is
far more advanced than XPress'. It looks at the entire paragraph.
You can turn it off, but I don't advise it. Instead, if you need words
to stay together, use a no break attribute (create a character style for
it).
You say it's off, but there's no way it would be acting that way if it
were. Look in the paragraph panel and the paragraph styles.

External monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 940BF set to 1280x1024

Problem: I am using the nView Desktop Manager and nView Control Panel. On the nView titlebar on the laptop, when I click the "Move to next display" button, then the window does move to the external monitor, and sizes the window to 1280x1024 to fill the screen. Good.
But, when I do the same on the external monitor (click the "Move to next display" button), then the window keeps the same size, and does not resize to the larger laptop window size (1680x1050).
In other words, the windows resize to the smaller display, but not the bigger display. What setting should I change?

I think you messed up the embedded features of the question slides. Have a look at:

Personally I will never allow Backwards movement at all in a quiz. If you do that, you can drag the Next button under the Clear button. The Next button has a double functionality: during the Quiz it acts as a Skip button and that is what you do not want. During Review it acts as a Next button. If you do not use Review, you don't need the Next button. If you want Review, dragging the Next button under the Clear buttons solves the problem: during Review both Clear and Submit button will disappear and the Next button will be come available.
I cannot see directly what happened with the actions that are not executed, unless you have another shape button on the question slide that pauses after the pausing of the Submit button.
Your setting 'Required....' can cause problems as well, especially since you allow free navigation within the quiz (and outside) with the Back and Next navigation.
Please, try to read that blog post, and if you have more questions, will try to answer them.

I have a stream of words, which means all the words are join together without any space in between it. I have over 10000 chracters in this stream, which is a lot. Showing part of my stream from a text file.

I trying to write a code to extract this text file, and then seperate each part with a 'next line' function. Meaning I want the above example to become this:

Each line comprises of alphabet|number
I failed to code out such program, and needs help!!
