  • I need to know when to sell the new Ipad 3.

I need to know when to sell the new Ipad 3 ?

Are you asking when to sell your new iPad (you can sell your iPad whenever you want to), or when it will be sold in your country (which you haven't said where that is) ?

  • Copying movies to the new iPad

Hi, I was ondering if someone could help me/offer advice. We take a DVD player for the kids, when we go on holiday, hgaving to take 10 DVDs or so. We also take the new iPad with us for the kids to play games & I was thinking its a shame we cant get the DVD's that we have purchased onto the ipad & just take that with us. So Im not after illegally downlaoding movies to the iPad....but is there any way that bought DVD's e.g Ice Age can be imported onto the iPad?
    Many thanks
    James

We can't help you with commercial DVDs like Ice Age. Converting the file format requires that you break the CSS encryption and we can't tell you how to do that.
The cheapest option would be to take a portable DVD player if you have one (You can pick one up for 100ish I think, haven't shopped for a long time), or if youwant them on the iPad, purchase copies from iTunes, or rent them. (Although you will need to pay attention and make sure the rental isn't a streaming service but a download service)
If any of your movies have digital copies you may be able to get those on a computer and into itunes and then sync'd.

When I view films section and tap a film is states its in HD or SD format.
I have soem tv prgrammes I purchased in HD in my iTues library they are listed as HD-SD at teh side -Ive loaded thes eonto my new iPad when I tap TV programmesthen the prgramme it does not say if its HD or SD format playing.
How do I find out if the HD version as loaded and is playing
    Thanks in advance
    Lee

Oh, well... a little bit rude, absolutely not polite, maybe not professional but...
Why not issuing a "dir" command, redirecting output to a file and scanning the file afterwards? It surely will work on any system and with any CVI version and will not imply any painful digging into Windows API command or so...
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Why does it take so long to download movies on the new iPad

I just bought the New iPad and I am connected to Wi-Fi and it is taking at least one full day to download a 4GB movie from the Apple store. Is this normal? How can I make the downloading faster?

Aha.  If you are at a hotel, you probably have a throttled connection.  They want you to buy their movie, not stream your own.......
But the app is a great thing to have on board.  You never know when you might want to check a connection.

  • Can i download movies to the new ipad 3

I will be getting the new ipad 3, can I buy and download movies to it or do you have to stream them.?

For those who know, is there a marked difference in the regular vs. HD version of a movie viewed on the new iPad? I guess my real question is, it is worth the extra cost for the HD version? I am new to iPad and want to buy a few movies to watch during a long flight in August. If there is a significant difference, then I don't mind paying the extra money. If it really doesn't matter all that much, then it's sort of a "no brainer".

  • Can I watch HD shows / movies on the new iPad?

I just received the new iPad and wanted to purchase a tv show. The options are HD and SD. Sorry for not being tech savvy or anything

You can't use the same Apps as the ones on your MacBook, but you can use the iPad version from the App Store. They are sold separately as Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.

    Thank you.

OK. I am having a little bit of trouble understanding your responses, but let's start with this since you are having an issue with other apps as well.
    Reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up completely and then try again.

  • Creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.

Help needed creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.  The project is done and looks good...I need help understanding what settings need to be set so I can make a QuickTime movie in the highest quality that would fit the ratio of 16.9 to be sent out to my YouTube page.  I played around with some of the settings and have not come with the right setting for the video.  I want the highest quality with the lowest amount of megabytes…thanks

I would suggest using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and choose 1920x1080 (if your source material supports this).
That should work well in YouTube.
If you want to go further with custom QuickTime settings,  here are some that should work, but in my experience, it will be no better than using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE.
follow the instructions below to create a .mov video that will work on YouTube:
In iMovie, select Share > Export Using QuickTime
Next, you may want to check your Options to verify that the following settings are correct:Video settings
    Compression Type: H.264
    Frame Rate: 30 is preferred. 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 are also acceptable.
    Data Rate: Automatic
    Key Frames: Automatic
    Frame Reordering: Unchecked
    Audio/Sound settings
    Format: AAC
Click Show advanced settings and choose Constant Bit Rate as encoding strategy
    Other settings
Size: Choose the original size of the video
“Prepare for Internet Streaming”: Fast Start

  • CineXplayer on the new iPad: why does my avi movie "trembles" while playing?

    Hi all,
I just purchased the CineXPlayer from the app store because I wanted to play a few AVI movies on my new iPad. I am really disappointed because the app couldn't handle the very first avi movie I threw to it.
The same AVI movie plays fine on my iMac using VLC. In cineXPlayer, the movie "trembles" but the sound is ok. Can anyone suggest where the problem might be?
I have removed cineXplayer and on the lookout for a free app for my iPad. Any suggestions?
    regards,
    Ali

Let's get your phone back on track.  Is this the first time the iPhone speeds through a song? Is the software up to date?  You can view that here http://apple.co/1K1avN8.  Does the phone have any physical damage?

  • HT3775 How can i play my avi formatted movies with the new mac OSX 10.9.2 update?

How can i play my avi formatted movies with the new mac OSX 10.9.2 update?

Try using VLC or installing both QuickTime 7 and Perian. Nothing will work with all AVIs; some of them require codecs not available for Mac OS X.

Haven't really used any of them including VLC - actually use netflix on the ipad more than anything. I was able to drop an mp4 into imovie on my ipad and see it there. This was something I had shot as avhcd and converted with turbo.264. Played fine. Probably not what you want for a movie player though.
Well, turbo.264 is indeed very nice to have - even for converting full-sized movies. (Nevertheless, TechRadar's latest roundup (see http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/6-of-the-best-video-converte rs-for-mac-1074303 ; also linked from another roundup at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/benchmark-excellent-multimedia-converter-handb rake-vs-commercial-apps ) has shown it's still worse than HandBrake in most respects.)
All H.264 files (assuming they are H.264 level 4.1 or lower) are compatible with the built-in Videos app.

Those of you who use other players, what do you reccomend? Just curious.
It entirely depends on your needs. The top players (AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer, It's Playing, GoodPlayer) all have different strengths and weaknesses. I myself use It's Playing the most as I convert everything into MP4 and simply love the DSP's (brightness / volume / saturation boosting). (Its software decoders are definitely worse than those of AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer; however, MP4's are played back from hardware.)

  • Play MPEG2 Movie without sound

    Hi,
at the moment i try to play a mpeg2 movie with the java media framework.
I got the code up and running as long as i've installed windows performance pack. If i don't install it, i get a exception which means that the mpeglayer3 isn't supported. As far as i found out it is only the sound-codec in the file and i don't need to playback it.
Is there a possibility to remove the sound and play the movie without installed performance-pack? or is the movie codec the next problem where i need to stop if i solve the mpeglayer3 problem?
    Thanks,
    Stefan

JMF doesn't play MPEG2 movies, first.
But if you wanted to include JMF on a CD, you'd just need to include all of the JAR files that come with it, and include the .dll files for the Windows version and the (presumably) .a/.so objects that come with the Linux version. Then, you'll want to kick off your CD application with a script that'll detect the OS type and add the appropriate libraries to the runtime library path of whatever OS you're on, and include the path to the JAR in the library path for Java. Do all of that (correctly), and you should be able to run a JMF application from a CD/DVD without having JMF installed.
But you still won't be able to play MPEG2 videos. :-/
