Needing wpa2 password when connencting to a network
My MacBook, running Lion keeps asking for a WPA2 password when I want to connect to my new network. My iPhone, iPad & PC all connect using the password but my Mac will NOT join the network. Any ideas? Happy New Years

C7280 All-in-One connected wirelessly to a modem-router needs a password when powered-up.
Do you have any examples of wirelessly connecting an HP Photosmart C7280-All-in-One to a network run by a NetComm NB6Plus4W modem-router? The modem-router also attaches a Windows XP desktop computer using an ethernet cable and a Windows XP laptop computer wirelessly using the default SSID (wireless) and password (a1b2c3d4e5).
The wireless connection between the modem-router and the laptop comes up automatically when the modem-router and laptop are powered-up.
The wireless connection between the modem-router and the HP Photosmart does not establish automatically. When I power-up the HP Photosmart I then have to use the setup button on the Photosmart and manually type in to the Photosmart the password (a1b2c3d4e5). The SSID displays as wireless, it does not have to be retyped.
Do you know if there is any NetComm or HP configuration which will cause automatic setup of the HP Photosmart to occur when it is powered-up?
What I am complaining about is having to manually type in the HP's password to the HP whenever the HP is powered-up.

Do i need enter password when i set kerberos as authentication
I am a new xgrid user. I have a mac os X server 10.4.11 and a mac os X 10.5.3 agent. in sever admin, if i choose "kerberos" for client and agent authentication, it looks like it didn't allow me to set password for them, is this correct?
thanks in advance.It depends on your mail server. Most mailservers dont expect you to authenticate while a few do. First, try to telnet to your mail server using the telnet utility.
telnet <mailserver address> <smtp port - 25>

If this is not what happens, then your mailserver requires authentication and I dont know how to do it. But from what seems to be the problem, I think you are not able to contact the mail server itself. When you do telnet to mailserver just see how long it takes to connect. -
Only contact Domain Controller when on a particular network
As per subject, I have a laptop joined to a domain and logging on is slow when outside the network. Obviously it is trying to contact the domain contoller but fails. Can we set it to immediately use the last saved password when not within the network?
That might be the reason.
but as you could logon it, the cached info is worked here. the logon is slow might caused by the mapped drives. and disable the always wait ..policy should fit this, which is not recommended when mapped drive is in use.
Run Xperf to take a check with the slow logon process.

I am trying to set up my newly purchased Apple TV but when I enter my network password while setting up, I am not able to enter the Submit button, any idea how to hit the visible submit button that is visible on screen but not responding?
You need to use the right arrow on the remote to go all the way to the right. The submit button will be highlighted and you can then press select on the remote to proceed.

Need to add an iPad to my network but I do not know the password.
My son setup our Valet M10 network and supplied the password. Unfortunately he is now in the millitary and does not remember the password. I cannot use the Cisco Connect software to access the network because it also asks me for the password.
I currently have 4 PC's connected to the network, 2 XP and 2 WIN7, and I want to add an iPad.
So how do I determine the password or reset the password, when I don't know the password? Will pressing the reset button (and holding it for 15 seconds) reset the router back to the defaults? If so, how do I then access the router to then set the password?
I saw in a Win7 option somewhere a "Network Password reset" option, will this reset the networks password or just that PC's access to the network?
MarkSo if you want to reset the Router in that case the Router will come back to factory default… You have to press and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds in order to reset the Router M10…. Secondly If you want to configure the router with the help of the Cisco Connect Software so for that you need to uninstall the existing Cisco Connect Software from the computer...Then power cycle the whole network...Make the following connectivity – Connect the Modem with the Router’s Internet port and then connect the Computer with any one of the Ethernet port of the Router [Numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4]... Then install the Cisco Connect Software that came in the CD with the Router... Since after installation pull up the Cisco Connect there you will be able to see the following window -
Since the Router will create its own wireless Network name and password, so if you want can change it for that click on " Router Settings"
From here you can personalize your own Network Name and Password...

When i log into all my sites needing a password and username for example Facebook and Gmail then i close the browser with "remember me" selected it logs me out of Gmail and Facebook. Then i have to log back into the those sites again. This does not happen to me in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
Firefox seems to save the password and username but logs me out of all my sites that needs a password and username after each session. This never happen to me before an Firefox update.
The only way that i have found to work around this to keep Firefox open.

I have bought an ipad, and when i go to reset it, it needs the restrictions password which i dont know. When i plug it into itunes, it asks to turn find my iphone off, which needs the password of the old owners itunes.What should i do?
If you're able to contact the person who set the lock, send them this link and tell them to follow its instructions.
If not, you can't use the device but may be able to get it refunded. Apple won't remove the lock for anyone other than the original owner(assuming they're alive.)

my IPod is disabled and says connect to iTunes but when I plug it in it says I need a password. I would put it in recovery mode but my home button doesn't work. any suggestions?

The power went out and when it returned the network name and password was lost. I can see the network in my connections and connect to it. How do I get it back to the orginal name and password? I have an HP laptop.
Chances are, there was a signficant power surge or voltage fluctuation just before the power went out. This type of thing can cause the AirPort Extreme to reset back to default settings.
If this occurs, your only option is re-configure the device again, just as you did originally.
In order to improve your chances this next time this happens, (especially if you live in an area where thunderstorms are severe), a good quality surge suppressor / voltage limiting power strip will really help, and may save you the entire device or a nearby computer next time something like this occurs. -

User password will need be changed when user logon
Why users need to change the password once I setup when they have been assigned by superuser?
If that is the case, then should I just assign any 4 digits then they put the real password when they log on or they can reuse the same password that I created. Only use 4 digits to avoid need to change it couple months.Hi Lily,
Did you check the settings under
> Administration > Setup > General > Password Administration?
Here you can set different settings for example if it is possible to use the same passwrod as before, when it will expire and so on.
