Netbeans Oracle OBIEE

Hi there,
I need to implement a program to communicate with Oracle BI EE.
I can "import" a WSDL file (http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?wsdl).
But when I try to run a simple program, I always get the same error on parsing wsdl:
*[ERROR] Schema descriptor {com.siebel.analytics.web/soap/v5}logon in message part "parameters" is not defined and could not be bound to Java. Perhaps the schema descriptor {com.siebel.analytics.web/soap/v5}logon is not defined in the schema imported/included in the WSDL. You can either add such imports/includes or run wsimport and provide the schema location using -b switch.*
line 3 of file:/C:/Users/redver/Documents/NetBeansProjects/JavaApplication1/xml-resources/web-service-references/saw/wsdl/localhost_9704/analytics/saw.dll.wsdl
What can be wrong??
Thanks,
redver

Initial version of OBIEE 11g has several bugs and many are fixed in 11.1.1.5. and latest version 11.1.1.6 is also available. I would recommend you to upgrade to latest version.
11.1.1.3 downloads are not available in oracle. if you are licenced then you might be received complete software CD from oracle. so u can find client software in it.
Thanks
Jay.

  • Error while table Import from Oracle (OBIEE server 64bit & Client 32bit)

    Hi All,
    Problem : ODBC/OCI Connectivity Issue between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 (64-bit) server and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 Client (32-bit) local machine.
We have an OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1(64-bit) setup on a 64-bit ‘Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise’ machine.
OBIEE dev team members have 32-bit local machines.
OBIEE “Admin team member” (who will work on RPD) has OBIEE 11g client (BP1) installed on their *32-bit local machine*(which is common client software for 32/64 bit.)
Now, two ODBC connections were created on this 32-bit local Client machine, with OBIEE 11g client installed on it.
One with “BI server driver” for connection to OBIEE server machine(64-bit) to open RPD and other with “Oracle database driver” to connect to the Oracle database on 64-bit machine, to import tables.
With this setup done, I am able to open the RPD in online mode and view the existing sampleapp related objects present in it.
But when I try to import metadata from OBIEE client admin tool using OCI or ODBC, it gives an error that “Connection fails! “
I have the required tns entry in my tnsnames.ora file and I am able to connect to this database from the local client machine, using sqlplus.
Kindly let me know if there are any restrictions in using this type of a setup combination of 32-bit and 64-bit machines for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 setup.
If not then, what steps are to be followed to do the setup btw 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client to make table import working.

Hi Veeravalli.. Thanks for your response.
I have my tns file residing in both the location you mentioned on the server machine. (64-bit)
    •     {Oracle_BI1}\network\admin directory
    •     {oracle_common}\network\admin directory
And also in the below Oracle_home path of oracle_client in the local machine. (32-bit, Oracle 11g R2 database client)
    •     {oracle_Home}\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin
Also, I have used the full expanded tnsnames as you mentioned. Still issue persists.
When I use , “DataDirect 6.0 ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol” driver, for creating the system DSN and try to import tables from OBIEE client admin tool on local client machine, the connection happens and table list comes up, but it’s an SAP product and hence it throws a msg to purchase the tool to go further with table import.
I am wondering if I any other configuration steps need to be carried out, with the ODBC/OCI set up between 64-bit OBIEE server and 32-bit OBIEE client.
Also, the source database that I am trying to connect to is yet again on a 64-bit machine(Oracle 11g R2).
    Please suggest.

I installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version on my Windows Vista Home Premium successfully and working fine. while installing it asked to install JDK 1.4 or higher and got it working
I hope you went to Sever folder to execute the setup exe file there.
There are 3 folders after downloadig the product, I went to Server folder and clicked on Setup.exe there and got it working.
I am not sure why you were not able to, let me find any helpful information and will keep you updated.
    Good luck.

A doctor should know that you can't just transplant any kind of code from system A to system B...wouldn't work with organ transplants either, would it.
If you have a look at the formula editor in either Answers or the Admin Tool, you will notice the absence of DECODE as a supported function. So unless you want to wrap your DECODE into an EVALUATE wrapper because you doj't want to re-write it, you'll have to reproduce the funcitonality with the funciton actually supported by OBIEE:
CASE WHEN "Incident Customer"."Customer ID" = 'emailuser' then COUNT("Incident Customer"."Customer ID") else COUNT("Incident Customer"."Customer ID") end
^-- which is what your decode does...

  • Using or migrating Cognos Powerplay Cubes in/to Oracle OBIEE V 11.1.1

    Hello,
is it possible somehow to use cognos cubes (used in Cognos Powerplay) in OBIEE out of the box? Or with some tricks?
If not, is it possible somehow to do a elegant migration, without starting from the scratch?
Any ideas or good links, informations about this topic?
    thanks ahead?

    Hi Tina,
I unzipped the install file to the root drive i.e. (C:\bishiphome in my case or D:\bishiphome in your case). Some of the folder structure for SampleAppLite goes pretty deep, and I'm wondering since you've got the install folder nested in some folders, it might start hitting Windows file path limit.
I know for a fact, when I installed 11g to C:\app\oracle\product\obiee11\<obiee11>, when it came time to uninstall, I couldn't delete the SampleAppLite files because their file path's were so long. From then on, I just installed it to the root directory to avoid problems.
    Hope this helps!

  • Scheduling Oracle OBIEE reports using Tidal scheduler 5.3.1.X

    Hi,
Is it possible to schedule OBIEE reports using the Tidal Scheduler? I have reviewed the documentation for Oracle Adapter/Application Adapter, and didn't find any information there. However, I did find some references with scheduling OBIEE reports using Ibots. Can I Ibots be called from the commandline? I would appreciate any information on this topic.
    Thanks,
    Derrick Au

    Derrick,
At the current time we do not have an Oracle Business Intelligence adpater and the Product Manager has indicated that this is not currenlty on the Product Road Map.  I am from what I am reading on the internet it appears that Ibots can be ran from the commandline.  I will check with our Professional Services group to see if they have a solution connector that allows OBIEE to be ran through TIDAL.
    Thanks,

  • Oracle OBIEE and Oracle EPM (Hyperion)

We are planning to upgrade Hyperion EPM version 9.3.3 to the latest verison but we also purchased OBIEE, and Oracle (Hyperion) Planning. I am wondering if anyone has done this and how they all integrate together. My understanding is we have to upgrade from 9.3.3 to Oracle EPM 11.1.2.x and then to 11.1.4.x. Oracle (Hyperion Planning) would be intregated into Oracle EPM 11.1.4. How does OBIEE fit in and where are the integration points?
I am trying to keep the administration to the minimum as well as plan for the future upgrades as weel. Is there any Oracle documenation on this? Has any one done this yet?

You can integrate EPM with OBIEE but as far as I know there are specific versions that can be integrated.
