Network sharing is only working on some accounts.

I have a professor who is sharing her library (Preferences, Sharing, Share my library...) from iTunes 12.1 so she can use it in the classrooms. On the classroom computers, the administrator account can see the library, but any other account (all created from a pre-configured default user) doesn't see the library as available. The craziest part is that the other accounts CAN see other professor's shared libraries (they all have older versions of iTunes).
Any suggestions? I'm not sure if it's the professor's computer or the classroom computers (all from the same image) that is the root of the problem.

Found it. It was something in the Library, Preferences, ByHost folder.

Since you have already done some sort of reset on your Airport Express, you might as well make sure it was a "hard reset" - follow the instructions for a hard reset found at:

Since your Mac is running Leopard, you need to configure the Airport Express using the Airport Utility found in the Applictions->Utilities folder. You cannot install the old software that was supplied on the CD you got with the Airport Express.
In future - if you do something bad with network settings on your Mac, do NOT try to fix it with the Airport Utility. The Airport Utility is only used to configure the Airport Express - and since the problem you have created is on the Mac and not the Airport Express, there is no need to be using the Airport Utility and especially there is no need to be resetting the Airport Express.

Flash Player only works for the account that downloaded it

I downloaded flash player and did not specify any special preferences, however, it doesn't work for the 2 other accounts on the computer. It only runs for the Administrator account from which i downloaded it. I'm running XP professional. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

i only have the IE pop up blocker and blocking level set at Medium;
it's the latest version of FP 10.0.45.2.
I installed this version a couple of weeks ago and it worked ok for all accounts (the other 2 accounts are not admin) for a week. Then, it stopped working for all accounts, i reinstalled it (some trial and error involved), then when it finally reinstalled, only works for the one account. i just tried to reinstall from one of the other accounts and error mssg said "failed to register"

Hi ol, I would go to Tools, click on Internet Options and clear the Temp files. Delete Cookies, Delete Files, including the off line content. I would do this using all accounts. Also check the history files while you are there and delete those also unless you have done so recently.
What version of Flash Player do you have Installed?
Do you use any adblock or pop up blocker software?

I have created a navigation system on the master pages and set the presentation to links only mode. I also have other links scattered throughout the program, like a linkable table of contents, etc. Some of them work, some of them don't. Not sure why. Anyone out there having similar issues? Or have any idea on how I can solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Links should not create any problems in Keynote. If they are set up correctly on text, the text will be underlined. Objects that have links will have a curved arrow bottom right, if you click the arrow a popup will display the link information.
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash: Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.

Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions

when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

I've recently started trying to use Password Manager again, but it only works with some websites, and none of the important ones for me (where security is most important, such as banking). On these websites I see no functionality at all: no pop-ups, no storing, no autoloading.

Chrome Extension ver. 4.60.3
Any ideas?

Nobody else has this problem? Pw Manager works fine with this site and many others, but is useless with major banks and other more security-sensitive sites.

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted. I think that's what you are experiencing.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

Is there a batch process that runs in the evening? Perhaps that ends up cleaning out the data from the buffer cache, turning logical I/O's into physical I/O's early in the morning.
Can you check the statistics on the table before the process starts and after you re-gather statistics? Perhaps there is a nightly process that is altering the statistics at an unfortunate time or in an unfortunate way.
The previous poster's comment about getting a trace file is excellent as well-- whatever your session is waiting on will be apparent in the trace.

Repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the menu bar, quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
If that didn't help, install the v10.5.8 combo update.

I've different user accounts on my PC for me and my son.
Somehow Flash Player 10 only works for the user account I installed Flash player with.
In case I install it using my account it will not work for my son's account and vice versa.
How can I solve this?

I've struggled with this for a long time. Here is what I've come up with.
Adobe tech support recommended this:
1. Log in as Admin
2. Download the following zip file from here:
www.supportflash.com/reset_all.zip
3. Unzip this folder onto your desktop.
4. Drag both files ‘reset_min_all.cmd’ and
‘subinacl.exe’ to your
desktop.
5. Run the reset_min_all.cmd file.
6. It will open a DOS like terminal and start
running through registry
keys.
7. When it is finished it will say “press any key
to continue”.
8. At this point you can install the latest Flash
Player:

I can't recall whether I had to run this in each account or not. It somewhat worked for me. If the accounts were all set up as admin accounts, flash worked in all the accounts after that. If one account was admin and the rest were limitied (I'm running xp home) it wouldn't work in the limited account.
I gave up and reverted back to flash player 9 via NOrton go back
It must be a permissons issue of some sort. I just don't have the patience to figure it out.

Caller display only works on some calls

I have a paragon 650 on a bt anytime call plan.
I have only one socket and only the telephone.
When the phone rings the number will only show on some occasions. If I do a 1471 the callers number is listed.
Some times the same callers number will list and on other occasions it does not.
I have put a paragon 500 on the line with the same results(this phone works perfectly OK on another bt anytime call plan line)

If you report it to BT, they will investigate for you. It is most likely a faulty line card in the exchange.
Provided that you report it as a caller display problem, they will arrange for an engineer who has a caller display unit, to check the line in the exchange.
It could simply be that the line gain setting is too low, as the caller display does use a burst of signalling tones, just before the first ring is sent. If you are a long distance from the exchange, then this signal may be too weak.
If this burst is not received properly by your phone, then so number will be displayed.

CS6 applications only work in admin accounts

iMacs, OS X 10.6.8, 4gb of ram:
Our district has a volume license of CS 6 Master collection. I recently started upgrading the iMacs in our computer labs to CS6, but the applications only work on the admin account. When I try to run the applications from a managed account, I get the user permission prompt stating that the user does not have permission to run the application.
If I select always allow, the application does not open.
If I click allow once, the application opens, but more permissions prompts come up for the applications specific components that have to run.
For Photoshop, for example, the user does not have permission for adobe_licutil, for AE, the mercury render engine, etc.
The application opens, but freezes (see error code below).
What I've done so far:
Ensured that the applications are checked off in the preferences so that the account has permission to run them, however, it appears that the user does not have permission for additional components which are not listed in system preferences and therefore cannot be checked off in system preferences. This did not work. The account has permission to run the apps but the same problems (1 & 2 above) persist.
Selected all of the application folders and changed the permissions in the terminal (chmod -rf 777 on all folders). The account has permission for all files/components.This did not work.
Changed the managed account to an admin account (allow user to adminster computer in system preferences) and all problems are fixed. All applications then open/run.
Solves the problem and all CS 6 apps run, however, we cannot have students use an account with admin privileges.
Changed the account back to a managed one, selected all CS 6 applications and utilities in the user account preferences, but the problems returned.
Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Not true. OD or AD accounts are Managed, but may also be admins. But this is not the case in my Mac labs. I am doing this via the local machine.

Just set the radio button (in Workgroup Manager, Applications) to "Never," save, and then start over using my method.

You people are making things hard on yourselves here.
It is all very simple. One more time, just allow following:
/Library/
/Applications/
Then just disallow any applications that you want.
The problem described here is that non-admin users cannot run Adobe Creative Suite 6, correct? So, if the users are not admins, then they cannot copy anything to those folders. Hence, there is no issue. They cannot run applications from any other folder, either. Test it.

Safari auto fill only works for some sites on my new iMac

Hi, Safari autofill only works for a few websites on my new iMac. Apple Care tried to change some settings which did not help. Autofill is checked in preference and we worked on Keychain access.

Creative Cloud Desktop only works in root account

Mac 10.10.3
Can't open ACC desktop. nothing happened on the screen after clicking the icon. only an ACC logo (in grey) showed up in the status bar at the top but it disappeared quickly. Have tried:
1. Creative Cloud Cleaner
2. Safe Mode
3. clean OOBE, AAMUpdater folders
4. log in with another administrated user
Installed and opened successfully in root account, but still not working in my account (which is a administrator).

There seems to be a problem with permissions.
Kindly make sure that you have Read and Write permission on the folder mentioned below.
/Library/Application Support/Adobe
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
/Application/utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud
/Application/utilities/Adobe Application Manager

i have an iPhone 5S. I'm updated to 8.0.2 When I try to do an audio message in iMessages it works for most people. However my brother who has an IPhone 4s I cannot send him an audio message or audio text. There simply is NO microphone to even attempt a audio message. I have 1 other person in my contacts where it's the same. Also I have a friend who has an iPhone 5C and he is having the same problem. Some contacts he can do an audio message some he cannot...

Having problems with iMessage. It will work for some of my contacts but not others. And those people arre having the same problem, works with other people but not me.. Anyone dealt with this?

1. Both devices have to be running iOS 5.*
2. Internet latency can delay iMessage connection. If you enabled "Send as SMS", the phone will switch to SMS if iMessage doesn't connect quickly. If you disable Send as SMS, more of your messages will go through as iMessage.
