Client Copy Solution Manager Enhacement Package 1
Hello solman experts!
I'm going to install SolMan EHP1 (SPS20). I'm preparing execution plan for installation. Now I have problem in step sequence.
Should I make client copy first and then run tamplates for initial configuration (from SOLMAN_SETUP)?
When I installed PI 7.1 I made client copy before template run (I checked note 1309239). But for SolMan I didn't find any information regarding SolMan client copy and template (and also SOLMAN_SETUP) sequence.
Do you have any ideas?

Solution Manager Enhancement Package 1 issue with SAINT

Hi,
We are trying to install the SAP Solution Manager Enhancement Package 1
using SAINT. We have encountered an issue while trying to use the Stack
Configuration option withing SAINT.
Issue 1: A message appears saying OCS Package SAPK-701DHINSAPBASIS does
not match current software component vector" . Whats does that mean and
how do we resolve this issue?
Issue 2: Ignoring the above message and going forward, we see the
import condition page where it fails saying BBCPRM component must not
be installed in this system
Please check the attahed screen shots for the current Software
Component levels and the errors.
Please help to resolve the above issue and explain if we are missing
anything here.

"OCS Package <Package Name> does not match current software component vector" will usually appears when the upgrade is not matching the "MINIMUM support package level"
Check note 1182336 - Though this note is not for the support package you are applying but the error points to same direction.
To solve your problem...
Please check the "Update Guide SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP 1 " available on Market place.
Go to Service Market place -> Release & Upgrade Info -> Installation and Upgrade Guide
To your left dropdown SAP Components -> Solution Manager -> Release 7.0 EHP 1 and on the right panel check above document Section "Preparations"
If you satisfy those conditions I think you should be able to apply EHP1 smoothly.

New Client in Solution Manager 4.0
Hi Gurus,
i need make a new client copy in Solution Manager 4.0 and I had made a entry also in SCC4 but after that entry when I am trying to login with sap* & pass in that new client.
It is not allowing me to login it is saying "wrong user or password repeat logon".
Please Help gurus... is there any change in solman on user name & password.

Did you do this?
1. Create a client in SCC4
2. Log off from the system.
3. Logon to the new client with user SAP*, password PASS
4. Go to SCC3:
Source: Client 000
Source User: Client 001
Target: Your new client
Profile : SAP_ALL
Delete the profile parameter 'login/no_automatic_user_sapstar' when you have created the first user in the new client. Restart the system to make the changes effective.

Create new client in Solution Manager?
I finished installing Solution Manager 4.0 sp1 for the first time and have the default clients of 000, 001, and 066. I can log on with the SAP* user. I'm a little confused about the next step. Do I create an addtional client (For example, 100) just like a production or development system to use for users, RFC connections, etc.?

As always... the golden rule applies to SOLMAN as well. Never touch the default clients. Have a client copy and then perfrom all the actions from and ON the Copied client. Get going with SCC4 for a new SOLMAN client :).. atleast thats what we follow here as a practice.

Solution Manager - Support Packages
Dear All,
We are applying patch for our SAP Solution Manager 4.0. We are using SAP ECC 6.0, We already applied patch for our development and production servers.
The following are the patch level in Solution manager
BBPCRM 500 0007 SAPKU50007

We downloaded all the above package, but struck in applying the patch. I want to know the hierarchy of the packages to apply, i confused in this level.
Could anybody let me know the order of above support packages to import.

Sridhar SAs already mentioned, the best is to apply a complete Stack by the way you should do the complete job and update to EHP1 because your system will be still low in some SP's.
If you have done SP's installations per components and not per stacks then you could face problems after or during SP's installations so it will be way better to use the Stack Strategy.
But if you think you should go this way then in SPAM you can review New Packages and once there, every package will show up there prerequisites or level of the components (ex: SAPBASIS, ST_SER, ETC) that are necesary to be able to install any component SP's.
It is extremely important to read the Notes regarding the SP's, their dependencies and possible problems with some of them, for example, some SAPBASIS SP's cannot be applied alone or up to certain level because there are known problems and you should go one level up or down to avoid this problems.
Either way I have applied Stacks since they come out and it is better to use this strategy in our Solman with no problems at all.

Copying Solution Manager 3.2 on WAS 6.20 running Oracle 9.2.
Hi, I'm trying to copy my Solution Manager system version 3.2 to a different test server in order to test the upgrade to version 4.0.
In the Homogeneous and Heterogeneous System Copy Guide for SAP Systems Based on SAP Web Application Server 6.20 on page 8 it says to refer to note 516246. In that note you are referred to note 659509. Is this note ultimately what I should be following to copy the system?
Note 659509 refers to Required Archives SCR3E47SR1_<SAP-GUID>.SAR. This archive I found on sapnet. It also says that additionally you may need a product specific archive. Is there a SCSOLMAN32.SAR? Do I need SCWEBAS620.SAR as well??

This library is part of SAPinst. Normally the case is that it is not available, corrupt or not appropriate for your platform.
I suggest that try to obtain the library by extracting SAPinst. You may extract SAPinst framework to any location by running SAPinst with -extract option just like :
<b><SAPinst location>/sapinst -extract .</b>
By default when you start an installation SAPinst is extracted to /tmp/sapinst.exe<something>

Solution manager Support Package 19 & 20
Dear Expert,
Recently I installed the solution manager,
But there is one DVD call Support Package 19 & 20,
I'm not sure how to upgrade the package to SLM.
As I knew,
there is a folder call "DATA",
I tried to used SAPCAR tool to decompress it into usr...EPS/in folder.
and the .SPA file use JSPM tool to update it to the SLM system.
but....when i used SAPCAR to decompress , it showed a error message below.
SAPCAR: could not convert from UTF8 string
Can any one helps me ?
And What is the SOP to update SPS 19~20??

"manage nuget packages for solution" is missing in the drop down for NuGet Package Manager

I have VS2013 Ultimate on windows 7 PC and that Nuget Option does show in the dropdown. Today, I setup a vm in Azure, from image I select VS2013 Ultimate, just like the one on my PC. However, when I click on the Tools, Nuget, there is only 2
drop down option, "package manager console" and "package manager settings" are the only 2 available. How can I get the ""manage nuget packages for solution"?
I want to install the xamarin.forms extension and I need this.

Based on your issue, generally, I know that there have two ways to see the "manage nuget packages for solution" option after we install the VS2013 Ultimate.
One way is that it is default that we can see the "manage nuget packages for solution" option by right click this Solution->Manage NuGet Packages for Solution option like the following screen shot.
Another way is that we can see the "manage nuget packages for solution" option by clicking the Tools->Library Package Manager-> manage nuget packages for solution like the following screen shot.
So please check if you can get the "manage nuget packages for solution" option from this above two way again.
If you still could not the "manage nuget packages for solution" option in this VS2013 Ultimate, to check if this issue is related to the VS2013 Ultimate set up file. I suggest you could try to copy this setup file and then install it on other machine
and then check if you still get the issue.

Solution Manager - Logical Component for SAP Netweaver EHP2
Hello,
I installed the newest SAP Netweaver Ehp2 (with usage type AS ABAP only) for a future integrating with BI_CONT (SAP BI requirement). So... what I want to know is... I want to do an update of support packages to the latest Stack (SPS) and in this product version (NW EHP2) the latest stack is stack 06 !! But I ´m facing with a problem which is, because I have to maintain this system in Solution Manager (for Maintenance Optimizer activity)...so what I want is configure this new system on Solution Manager Ehp1 (with SPS 23) but in tcode SMSY I didn´t found this Product in Logical Components for I can apply this system to my Solution... I only see SAP Netweaver with EHP1 and not with EHP2 which is the version that I want to apply this new system. (This is mandatory task, because without it, I will not be able to download the support packages for NW 7.0 EHP2)
Tell me two things... first if this level version of Solution Manager that I have here (SPS 23) have this product in logical components, and two... if not it, is necessary to raise the level of Solution Manager support packages (to latest stack SPS 25) for I can see that logical component SAP Netweaver EHP2?!

You can verify if the EHP2 is available (if) in your system, this can be done once you are in SMSY -> Product Definitions -> SAP Netweaver where you should able to see the EHP2. If so, then it's a matter of marking the leading Product & Product Version under the Header Data ->Change Product Assignment where you can use the drop down arrow to select the Product and Product Version. If it's not available, then by checking the 'Free Product / Select Product Version' then use the drop down arrow to select the product & Product Version, once you selected that then click on copy and mark that as active and save.
Then you need to create a new logical component in System Group & logical Component under SAP Netweaver, then assign the system to the logical component. Once this is done you can use the logical component in a solution and create a maintenance transaction.

Solution Manager Enterprise Edition upgrade slow

I am performing SOMAN 7.0 upgrade to Enterprise edition by upgrading kernel 701 and SP stack 18. I have already upgraded the kernel and java stack and now in the process of upgrading ABAP. I am expereincing really slow performance of this upgrade. I have checked tp and R3trans version which is uptodate as I updated kernel. I cant see any problem with CPU utilization as well swapping. I checked the SLOGs and there are no alerting errors. I see its moving and its very slow. I am just wondering if any of you guys experienced this - is this normal since this is a upgrade?Thanks a lot, i realize the installation following the standard add-on installation procedure!

I need that information because in one of the presentation slides of the enterprise service "SAP Modification Justification Check"-
The prerrequisites are.

Configuration for Central Monitoring System in SAP Solution Manager.

I am trying to setup Central System Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager, I am following the document which mention the step by step instructions.
There are couple of items on which I am really confused.
In the documentation it says to activate Background Dispatching & Central System dispatching in 000 client of Solution Manager,
it also mentioned about creating CSMREG user, but it did not say in which client this activity needs to be performed, and there are lot many steps in which there is no mention about the client of solution manager in which we have to perform the configuration.
Can you guys please help me to configure properly?
One set document which I saw talks about the configuration using RZ21 and other document discuss about Configuration using System Monitoring Work Center, which one do we need to follow, are both methods are 2 different options doing the same thing, can you please clarify?
Also, is there any document which clearly explains the setup of Central System Monitoring in SAP Solution manager using both approaches and also to test the monitoring?
I have SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1.

You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.
