"New" Godaddy webhosting account's won't work w/Dreamweaver CS3

Hello,
I am having problems getting my Godaddy webhosting account's to work with Dreamweaver CS3. My older accounts work, it is my newer (last 6 months) accounts that have this issue. The ftp information works in my CuteFTP8 Professional. I called Godaddy tech support several times and they could not figure out. And, since it works in my FTP program, they said it is a Dreamweaver issue.
In the FTP host Remote Info I have tried www.domain.com, domain.com, ftp.domain.com with login and password. I also tried checking Use passive FTP, Use IPv6 Transfer mode, Use Secure FTP (SFTP) and leaving them all unchecked. The error message I always get is:
An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. No response from the server. This may be due to one or more of the following reasons: etc.
I compared information with my Dreamweaver accounts that do worked and still no luck.
The only thing I can think of is when you create a new hosting account with Godaddy, depending on the month, you are assigned a different web server. Could it be the old Godaddy web servers work and the new web servers may have different settings that don't work with Dreamweaver? Or, I need different setting information??? I am at my wits end.
Any help on this would greatly be appreciated.

Hi Mona:
If your FTP client works, then there has to be some miniscule detail that's different between that setup and what you're inputting into your DW Manage sites. Maybe you should print out your successful FTP setup details, and compare to what's in your DW...
If this helps, this info came from GoDaddy's help section:
From the Site menu, select Manage Sites.
In the Manage Sites box, Click New, then choose Site.
In the Site Definition box, enter the name and URL of your website and clickNext.
If a certain type of server technology is necessary for the site to function, selectyes. Otherwise, select no and click Next.
For working with files during development, select Edit local copies on my machine...(recommended). It is very important that they select this option.
Enter connection information as follows:
How do you connect to your remote server?
FTP
What is the hostname or FTP address of your web server?
ftp.domainname.com
What folder on the server do you want to store your files in?
/ or blank
Enter your FTP login and FTP Password
Click Next.
For checking in and out files, select No, do not enable..
Review the summary to be sure all information is accurate, then click Done.
I have a dozen sites hosted at GD, and in most cases (where I had trouble), it was operator error. Good luck!

Where did you reload it from? Do you still have the original CD and serial number? Maybe it isn't compatible with your new PC so we need a bit more info to see if it is compatible.

CMD+ shortcuts not working in Dreamweaver CS3

I'm have a very strange issue with CMD+ keyboard shortcuts
not working in Dreamweaver CS3 on OSX 10.5. These actions are
working from the menus (i.e., copy, cut, paste, etc.). CMD+
shortcuts work in other CS3 apps. I've searched this forum and
googled up and down and found some references to issues like this
with Dreamweaver 8, but nothing for CS3.
Has anyone experienced this problem? I'm completely stumped.

My concern wasn't with the navbar, but thanks for the headsup.
The problem is that the link in the upper left hand corner, Suzie's Story, is a rollover image but it does not reveal the other image when the cursor goes over it.

Application worked under Adminstrator account but won't work under standard

I wanted to setup the Toontown Launcher application for my son under his "standard user" account. But the application only works when I log in as an administrator, it won't work when my son log in as a standard user. It said "Cannot run application from this location. Copy app to desktop." I tried to copy it to desktop but it still won't work with same error message. FYI, I did not turn on Parent Control for the standard user account. Anybody knows why? I'm new to Mac and am pulling my hair out trying to fix this!!! Thanks for reading.

Most apps for a Mac are just drag & drop, although some require installers. Those that do usually have uninstallers. I've never used a 3rd-party uninstaller in 25 years of using Macs, so can't comment on them. After new update my Wi-Fi won't work!!!

After I updated my macbook pro to Security update 2015-003 the wify won't work... it says: "No Hardware Installed"
can any one help me..!!! now I'm using my iPhone USB data... <-- my only way to stay online!!

I'd say reset network settings and restart the router, see if it still occurs. If not backup and restore.

Error when working on Dreamweaver CS3

Any time I do anything in Dreamweaver CS3 I get this error which than I have to click on
several time for it to go away and for the software to work. Please advise...anyone?

You may try to reset the preferences.
You can do it irreversibly by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift>Cmd+Option+Shift during startup or reversible with Move the folder

New email account just won't work

I've been using an email account on my mac for years, as well as my .mac account as a secondary email. both worked fine. my missus has now opened an account with virginbroadband and we get all of our email, phone, broadband from them. everything works except her email.
we've been onto their tech heloand they don't know what the problem is. if we go to their website and log in to her webmail the account is working fine and we ca see all the greetings messages etc, but we've set up a new email address on my mac but it won't connect - the account name in the 'mailbox > inbox' column on the left shows my account, fine, but next to hers is i litlle zigzag meaning can't connect. when you try, it asks for a password; we put in the same password that works on the webmail but it says password rejected in Mail.
Virgin have reset the password, without success. I went in to her webmail and changed the password to something completely different, but that hasn't worked either.
Any ideas anyone, because virgin broadband don't have any idea!
and by the way, i went into a virgin broadband shop and asked and they had less idea than me 13 year old son!!!

I've deleted and just remade the dodgy account. no luck.
The answers to alll the other questions are 'yes'!
then i ran connection doctor - it shows 4 connections, two are my .me account (i guess that's incoming and outgoing for my own email account?) and two connections for VirginMedia, one of which says "connection to this server succeeded, log in not required" while the other says "trying to log in to this pop account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct". They are the same username and password that work if i go to webmail in safari.
the relevant part of the connection doctor details seem to be "READ Apr 17 18:59:02.539 [kCFStreamSocketSecurityLevelNegotiatedSSL] -- host:pop3.virginmedia.com -- port:995 -- socket:0x1181be8d0 -- thread:0x1181d9760

not that any of that means much to me except "computer says no".

Installed a new DSL router, now AirPort won't work

My DSL router started dying a few days ago. The tech from my provider came right out and replaced it; the wired connection to my MacBook Pro is fine, and the wireless connection to the old iBook G4 via AirPort initially worked OK, but now the house wifi name won't even show on the menu.
When the new router was programmed, it was set to "Enable DHCP Server".
The router is a Comtrend ADSL. I'm logged onto it now, and the settings at the "Management" control panel DHCP are "enable" and "disable". Is there anything I should change there?
Under "Access Control", I'm shown a table headed "Feature/root/support/user/apuser" with category titles like "account access", "wireless - basic", and "wireless - advanced", and under the "account access" category, there are popdown menus with choices "none", "LAN", "WAN" and "both". Is there anything I need to change there?
Any ideas? I'm kind of feeling my way through this, so apologies in advance if nothing makes any sense.
Machines involved in this fracas are a G4 iBook, an Intel MacBook, an iPad2, and a couple of iPhones. Main wired connectivity is OK on a MacBook Pro, which is probably snickering smugly as I type this.

almost all Netgear routers have a firewall. So log into the router. Username Admin and password is probably password. If not these days they print in on the bottom of the router. Check the ports used for mail are not blocked.

Re installed photoshop CS5 onto new computer & now plug ins won't work?

I recently bought a new computer & re-installed photoshop CS5.1 successfully, but can't get the plug ins to work (phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3, which were a free download with purchase). I am running windows 7 64bit. I copied & pasted them into the plug ins folder (in both applications of photoshop - there is the 32 bit version on 'program files (x86)' & the 64 bit version in 'program files'), but neither will work.

You probably won't get those plugins to work by just copying them.
I'd remove the plugins that you copied and pasted and use the phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3 plugin installers, as they probably install some other files besides just the plugin itself.

New internet provider, now mail won't work

I recently moved to a new city and have switched from Sympatico as my internet provider, to Eastlink. Since the switch I cannot send mail from the Mail program.
Neither one of my email accounts is a sympatico based account (one is gmail, one is a work address with a smaller provider), but I'm wondering if the switch could be the issue since I've never had problems before. I have run a connection doctor and the only account the comes up with a problem is the W3 Connex service provider, both the gmail outgoing and incoming mail server claimed to be working fine (but still I cannot send msg with this address).
Do I need to set up my SMPT server to correspond with my new service provider or with the email providers? This is really frustrating as I cannot send anything with my work address and have to log on to Gmail's web page to send anything with that address...
What the **** is going on?

For every new internet provider, if you want unauthenticated e-mail sending you usually must use the internet provider's own SMTP server. Most internet service providers these days don't allow third party SMTP servers without some form of authentical and/or special port addressing. If you have a particular sendmail server you want to use regardless of your location, check with the owner of that server whether they use port 587 or 2626 and use e-mail address and your e-mail password to do password authentication into that server. That will allow you to use it anywhere. The primary reason they do this is to avoid being blamed for spam.

Apple TV set up with new TV and now Airyplay won't work

I bought an Apple TV about 2 months ago, July 2013. I had it set up using my wifi connection and TV at my house, and everything worked great. I could use Netflix, YouTube, and Airplay to play music from my iPhone 5. Now, I just moved in to my new apartment at school and all of a sudden, Airplay and Homesharing don't seem to be working.
I have a mid-2010 MacBook, but that's never been able to use Airplay because it's outdated. However, with my iPhone5, the airplay icon suddenly doesn't appear anymore. Like i said, everything else on the ATV works fine (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) so I don't think it's my internet connection. I've tried connected it to 2 different TVs in the apartment and neither of them are working with my iPhone. When I go to use the "Remote" app on my phone, it says I need to turn on Homesharing. I have Homesharing turned on for all 3 of my devices (Macbook, iphone, ATV) and I've tried turning them all off, and reconnected. None of that helped.
I tried calling Apple to get help with the problem, but because of the holiday I can't call until tomorrow.
Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

Help new (10/28/2012) iPhoto won't work and crashes my 2011 Mini

Bought New iphoto and it won't let me import my photos from a time machine back up or from optical disks.
Import goes all the way to the point where it says finishing import and the computer restarts. The photo library is ,of course, corrupted.
Got a small cd of sum photos imported, but there were at least 2 copies of each photo and when I was looking over the photos the computer restarted again!
Other strange thing is that it took almost 24 hrs. to download the program. That's longer than Mountain Lion took. Is there an easy way to uninstall and re-download it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
About importing:
1. Do Not Import a Time Machine back up. These need to be restored not imported.
2. Where did these optical disks come from? Again, if they were created in an earlier version of iPhoto you do not import from them.

Brand new macbook air charger suddenly won't work

I bought a new macbook about four weeks ago. Everything is in great shape, inlcuding the charger. It suddenly didn't work yesterday. I've tried some of the troubleshooting stuff, nothing is working. Any ideas?
