New query copying from existing query

Hi,
I want to create a new query through query designer. New query should be same as existing one query.
That is i want my new query will be a copy of existing query. let me guide how to make a new query which is copy of existing one.

Hi,
As told above you can copy Queries from one Target to another Target by RSZC, if the fields are same in both the Info Providers.
Or else open your existing Query and slect Save as give new Technical name.

Thanks for your post. In order to combine multiple PDF's into one, you need the desktop version of Adobe Acrobat. We don't currently have plans in the works to add this feature to Acrobat.com, but I will share your feedback with the team. You could also visit our Ideas site and promote this idea - we actively use the Ideas site to prioritize the roll out of new features.

LOCAL Structure to be copied from one query to another query

Hello all,
In our query we have created a structure locally....
we have to copy the same locally created structure from one query to another query which is on the same multiprovider.
We do not want to make the structure global.
Can anyone suggest some method to achieve this!

For copiying structures fom query to another you have to do it global. After that you can do click on right button on the structure when added to your query and choose "eliminate reference" this does further changes in the structure were local for that query.

Transport request pop up when trying to copy an existing query

Dear All,
When I am trying to copy a query which has been already transported to QA , it is raising a pop message to enter transport details like Package name & request. We have already defined a Bex bucket(and assigned in Transport copnnection ) for this particular package in the system to collect all Bex changes.
So my question is that why it is poping up for request when we have already defined a bucket for Bex changes? any suggestion appreciated.

Thank you so much for your valuable inputs.My ransport connection is modifiable and all the query elements has been assigned to a single package.
When I checked the other transport settings, standard transport functionality has been switched on...thats why it is asking for new request every time I create a query or modifying a query..after switchin off that functionality it has stopped raising any pop-ups..

New Selection Parameter in existing query

Query means Is it ABAP Query.
If it is ABAP query there are 2 ways.
You can create at infoset level : In sq02 enter your infoset name press change button.press shift+ F8 there you can find the "Selections"   tab ,press.In that you can find creat button press.
Enter name of the parameter name .Here you will find 2 radio buttons
1. Select-options 2. parameters
select the radio button whichever you want press enter.
In net screen give "Description" "Selection text"   and there you will find 3 formats for parameters.
1. Type   --if your parameter is your own defined ex : type c length 12
2. like --if it is database field structure Ex: mara-matnr.
enter any one.enter & save.

All objects are inactive in derived roles (copied from existing derived role)

I need to create more than 1000 derived roles, from existing reference roles.
Reference roles are also derived roles. So I executed LSMW for mass copy.
Eg: Reference role XYZ with parent role XXX
New role(ABC) copied from XYZ ,so ABC is having same values as XYZ and master role also.
Now the issue is after executing the LSMW all roles are copied to new roles, but all objects are inactive in new roles .I am not able to activate the object also.

Issue: I have derived roles for plant XX, now I want to derive same set of roles for YY plant. My reference plant is XX, So what am doing is copying the XX roles to New roles (YY) .No change in object or description, just copy role to new role. And I am using LSMW for the same.
After copy the roles, I will change the description and profile using another script and manually change the org values. But after copy the roles to new roles using script all objects are inactive (In red color),if am selecting the org tab ,I will get message like ,no org levels maintained. Because all objects are inactive .And there are no options (edit) to activate the objects or maintain the fields.

How to create new genius playlists from existing music in library?

I tried the genius button for creating lists from existing music in my library. The problem is that it continues to show the first list created no matter what song I highlight then hit the genius button. Genius works fine for creating lists I can purchase online, but not new ones from my own music.

Combine query, result from another query on SAP BI query Universe?

Hello all,
We are using SAP BI queries as datasource for our universes. Is the combined query option disabled for webi reports written on such universes?
result from another query - is this option active for such webi reports? I see both these options greyed out so wanted to check.
One last thing what is really difference between subquery and results from another query? subquery - you can use filters from that one data provider only right? or can you use a different data provider/report in sub query?

ICloud new pricing upgrade from existing plans

This, I suspect, will be the beginning of a flood of questions related to this, but I don't see so far a way I can change my current pricing to a new one. My existing iCloud storage plan (50GB + 5GB) is due for renewal later this month for $100. I would like to switch to 200GB for $3.99/month before it auto renews. Anyone has any insights on timeline?

I did paid upgrade last May with 25 GB data plan for $40.00. They didn't offer me prorate or refund the different yet with new plan yet. They also didn't offer anything extra data plan too.
Something missing here as whole thing doesn't make sense to me.

Excluding Weekend dates from existing query

I have the following query that returns the average of the total sum between start and end date of a status.
How do I take out the weekend dates so it doesn't include saturday and sunday.?

The above solution actually generates each date in a range and tests it for a Saturday or Sunday date. A more efficient solution calculates the weekend days directly by using the following facts:
1) For each whole week in the range the number of weekends days is 2.
2) For the partial week, a function can be made based on the ending day and the number of partial days to calculate the number of weekend days.
The following code uses the above two facts to calculate the number of days in a range excluding weekends:

Authorizations set for one query different from another query

Hello All,
Here is my requirements for 2 differents BW queries :
For some particular user
1-Query A have to show data from company code 1 & company code 2
2-Query B have to show data from company code 1
How can I manage such authorization with RSEACADMIN ?
I was thinking of using infoObject 00TCTQUERID .
What do you suggest ?
I will try to do some test and come back later with my tests results.

Thanks for your help on this. I will not use query restrictions with S_RS_COMP or S_RS_COMP1.
Also, Query A and query B are created on the same cube, so I cannot use 2 differents analysis authorization. I wish I was able to say this analysis authorization applies to query A and this analysis authorizations apply to query B.
So far, this is not possible.
I think my only possibility is to create a multiprovider and copy query B to this multiprovider. Then I will create 2 differents analysis authorizations for each cube.
I don't think that I will find a better solution.
I will test it asap.

Error in Creation of a New View Object from Existing Entites

I define a Complex JOIN in the expert mode of the View Object Creation Mode. On trying to access the VO, the system returns an error, unable to creat View Objecy.
THe SQL Statement begins with

Following will be required for created a custom business object.
1. Object Type - ZTEST (Internal Techincal Key)
2. Object Name - ZTESTNAME (Technical Key Name)
3. Name - TEST (Name of BO, it is used while selecting the object type)
4. Description - (Short Description of BO)
5. Program - ZTESTPROGRAM (ABAP program in which the methods of the object type are implemented)
6. Application - A or B.. etc (Area to which your BO is related)
Please remember that you can learn these basic things by giving F1 help on those fields and in HELP.SAP.COM.

Query Builder problem - query results from previous query

Hi.
I have a 100% repeatable problem in Oracle Query Builder (Version 6.0.7.1.0) where some rows from the results of a previous query appear in the results for the current query. The queries being run are saved in *.brw files. If I close down Query Builder completely between queries, there is no problem. If I run one query, export the results to a CSV file, close that query and then open a second query, when I run the second query there are rows in the results that shouldn't be there (they are remnants of the first query). Interestingly the total number of rows for the second query is correct, so the same number of rows are missing as shouldn't be there. Anyone come across this before? Problem is repeatable for different database users and on different computers.

as i posted earlier .. queryBuilder as a stand alone product is neither supported nor available anymore. it is only available as part of the report data wizard.

Adding New WTs (Copied from WT Catalogue) to Custom Forms

I created new WTs by copying them from the WT catalogue. I am now required to add these WTs to custom forms used in our payroll system, i.e. remuneration statement; how would I go about doing this? Since I copied these WTs they should be added to forms with the original WTs presentu2026I just need to know the transaction code or path where I can go to add these WTs.

Best way to spec a new Linux server from existing Windows 2003 server?

We are looking to upgrade our servers to 11.1.2 and I am looking for some documentation/suggestions on the best way to spec the new box on a Linux platform.
I do have the current documentation from ORACLE with regard to "Estimating Disk and Memory Requirements" but am looking for some processor suggestions as well..
Any thoughts or ideas would be welcomed.
Especially helpful would be anyone who is currently running in a Linux environment any pitfalls or issues you've been having with hardware or software.

I don't think it is possible to recommend you any hardware setup without knowing your environment, budget and expertise.
If you plan to install Enterprise Linux, like Oracle Linux, you should look into getting server hardware and not a desktop system. You may also want think about using Oracle VM virtualization products.
Are you looking for rackmount or blade systems? it might be possible to limit your hardware decision between HP, Dell and IBM. I would personally prefer HP, but that's a matter of experience.
You should probably find out your OS requirements. E-business products and installation instructions are usually designed for the OS version that existed at that time. If you install a newer version of the OS you may run into configuration or backward compatibility issues that may require to install additional software. You should check your OS requirements first before purchasing any hardware. The newest hardware may not support older versions of the OS.
The HP support side shows a Linux certification matrix at: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hplinuxcert.html which might be helpful should you decide to get HP equipment.
You might also want to check your current Oracle licensing if you upgrade to a faster or more CPU's.
