hi,
within Va05, you can create varaints.
If the "save display variant" option is NOT displayed, then this
is an authorization problem. To correct and be able to save user
specific variants, maintain the user parameter "SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN"
through the transaction SU01 as follows:
   In order to maintain the parameter "SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN":
    1-transaction SU01
    2-input the user-name and press the change button
    3-press the "PARAMETER" button
    4-under Parameter input SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN with value "A" and save
Please note:
The values for parameter SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN are:
       A - to be able to define standard or user variants,
       U - to be able to define user variants.
Once the change is made you will need to log on again to update.
If you would like to make this variant the initial variant, after you
save the variant, follow the same menu path but select administration
instead of save. Place a green checkmark next to your newly created
variant (in the IV column) and hit save.

New Variant in VA05

Hi All,
In Transaction VA05 i need a new variant with following combination:
There are a variant named "Status and blockings
This new variant shall contain all claim sales order types, ZFA, ZRE, ZG2, ZG3, ZL2 and ZL3
Creations Date, Sales order number, item, material number, quantity, overall status for each item and reason for rejection, for this last field it shall be the text not only the two digit code
of reason for reaction.
How can i create above combination in SAP 4.6 version.

Hello Ajit,
That is a lot of information that you're looking to put into the report before running it. In your post you do not mention the need for sold-to party, so my assumption is that you're looking for this information for a specific sold-to number. What I would recommend is running the report for a variable period for all documents for the needed sold-to party. Then, once the report runs, set a filter on Sales Document Type for the listed SaTY's listed in your post, sort by creation date and filter any rejection reasons / material numbers / qtys / etc. Then, save this layout so that you can use the layout for any other sold-to parties you would like to additionally use.
Basically, VA05 does not have many options at entry, so instead of creating a variant to restrict the information you want pulled, I would recommend running it to pull all information in a date range for one sold-to party then creating a layout to restrict only the information you would like to see. Hope this works for you!

Creation of New Variant

Hello,
I need a variant which does ' quant * quant = quant '.
The nearest variant that I found is QUANTI12 which does ' qant / quant = factor ' . I copied the variant to Zvariant.
Now I try to modify the outpout from ' factor ' to ' quant '.
Someone already did it?

A QUANT operand is not prorated unless it is multiplied in a subsequent step with a factor or a price which has more than one value for the billing period. When the output operand is a quantity systems looks ahead in the schema and determine if this output operand is used in other steps as input operand and if so if other input operands (factors, prices) used as input operands in the same step have prorations. If they do then the quantity operand is prorated, if not only a single value is store for the quant operand.
You might be able to create time slices for the output operand in an new variant but I think you should also consider using user exit EBIA0002 - IS-U: proration according to customer-specific dates.

Variant creation

Hi,
We have a variant for a SE38 program, which is being used by a batch job to execute the program in the background.
We would like to change the variant directly in production, but find in the attributes that the variant is protected.
My questions are:
1) How can I change the variant
2) If I cannot change the variant then I would like to delete it and create a new variant with the same name. In that case how can I enter values in the attributes? Because on the selection screen of the program, there is a field called Idoc Run Date. This field should be populated dynamically. In the current variant (which we would like to change) find that there is a parameter for idoc run date RS_VARI_V_TODAY_X.
3) If I delete the existing variant will it also delete the parameter RS_VARI_V_TODAY_X.
4) How do I create the parameter RS_VARI_V_TODAY_X (or any other parameter). and attach it to the new variant.
Any help would be appreciated.

Run your program in online mode in production.
On the selection screen, put all the values you want to store as variant.
Now press the Save button.
You will be directed to Variant creation screen.
Give your variant name.
Save it.. it will ask for "overwritten".. say yes.

CRM E-Commerce BOB Web shop - Duplicate check for New Customer Creation

Hi,
In CRM E-Commerce BOB Web shop we have a requirement wherein new customer creation should go through a duplicate check. Only unique customers should be created as BP in backend GUI, in case a customer already exists with the same credentials, BP should not be created and user should get a message that the customer already exist in the system.
Currently the system is not preventing me from creating new customers with same credentials.
In case anybody has worked on the similar requirement or has any idea about the same, Kindly help.

Is this a new variant of the 'grey screen, won't boot' problem?

Hello all. My second hand Powerbook G4 starts, the bitten apple comes up, then there is no further boot up action. The situation leading to this was as follows;
- firstly, starting but going to a blank/grey screen and staying there. The new variant alluded to, which I have not been able to find referred to, was that at this stage, one could for a while, actually type letters (coming out in white). After a while this stops.
- researching this problem here I followed the advice in the Grey Screen article - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570
one on resetting the PMU - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431#faq11
and on using Target Disk Mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
None of this helped in the slightest with these symptons.
Because I was away on holiday at the time I did not have access to system disks, or actually using Target Disk Mode. On returning I used TDM to successfully connect to the PB, and it became evident that there is a drive problem. I had taken quite a few edited videos with me and it was possible to copy some off, but not others. Data that refused to copy always led to having to restart the machine because the 'copy' mode would refuse to cancel. I also reinstalled the OS, and using another PB used TDM to allow Diskwarrior and Disk Utility to work on the poorly machine. Both were able to do some work, but not complete all their tasks. The SMART, so called, diagnostics always came up fine.
Now if I turn it on the grey screen stage is not reached, the apple symbol comes up and stays there, with no spinning wheels.
So, is there anything else I can do?
Is the grey screen with some typing possible relevant or interesting in any way?

Hello,
It's possible to have two Mac OS X's installed on one drive.
Have you tried this:
Restart whilst holding down Command-S
The screen should turn black and load some text
At the prompt type
fsck -fy and press Return
Hopefully some repairs will be performed.
At the prompt type
reboot and press Return
If that doesn't provide any help then try starting in safe mode.

Once in safe mode, you can set the startup disk and reboot.
If that don't help, then all I can suggest is a clean install of the OS.
Using a Mac OS X install disk either retail or for a PowerBook G4, boot and upon selecting the destination drive, select option, then erase and reinstall.
A fresh install should resolve this problem as a last resort.

I want to create a VARIANT in SAP BI 7.0 Which is to be used in information broadcasting. I found One Document Named as "Variant Creation In SAP BI to be used in Information Broadcasting.pdf",in SDN Forums. I Couldn't able to Understand the Given Steps in it.
Could any one of You Please send me the Procedure how to create a Variant.I should also see the "Determine from Variants" button in Work book precalculation Tab,which i am not able to see it currently under "Workbook Precalculation".

1. The ALV Grid Control is a tool with which you can output non-hierarchical lists in a
standardized format. The list data is displayed as a table on the screen.
The ALV Grid Control offers a range of interactive standard list functions that users need
frequently (find, sort, filter, calculate totals and subtotals, print, print preview, send list,
export list (in different formats), and so on. These functions are implemented in the
proxy object class. You as the programmer have the possibility to turn off functions not
needed. In most cases the implementations of the standard functions provided by the
control are sufficient. However, if required, you can adjust these implementations to
meet application-specific needs.
You can add self-defined functions to the toolbar, if necessary.
The ALV Grid Control allows users to adjust the layout of lists to meet their individual
requirements (for example, they can swap columns, hide columns, set filters for the
data to be displayed, calculate totals, and so on). The settings (list customizing) made

2)I believe Process flow to create process chain:

>Calculate Proportional Factors
Please correct if the process flow is not right.
3) Is it require to check the adjust time series for generating CVC's for every time?

Below are the answers to your queries.

While creating CVC's (t-code /n/sapapo/mc62)select your MPOS, goto create characteristic combinations, then enter Target mpos, say generate in background, tick against all fields in action selection, and then save as variant. During planning area initialisation(/n/sapapo/msdp_admin), select your planning area, right click and say create time series objects and then enter planning version, start and end dates and execute job in background. While calculating proportional factors (/n/sapapo/mc8v), enter ur planning area & infocube and then save as a variant. For loading data from infocube to planning area (tcode /n/sapapo/tscube), select the infocube, planning version, planning area, planning versin, periods, tick mark in results log, key figure assignments, if you have any selection criteria enter, and then save as variant.

if you use mc8v t-code and provide planning area & infocube, it will ask for version name and dates, once u enter this info, proportional factors will get created.

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...

Hi,
I doubt if it can be achieved by standard solution or FMs. But i have an idea. Check the feasibility of implementing it.
Provide 2 buttons. One for saving the variant, other for selecting the variant.
Create a Ztable with variant name as the key field and rest of the screen fields as non key fields. Now, on clicking the save button, update this Ztable with all screen field values. On clicking the get variant button, query this Ztable and provide a popup with available variants. If a variant is selected, populate the values from Z-table to screen.
But can we handle table control with this approach!!!!??? I hope no.

Use String Variable in New Object Creation

Thanks to those who review and respond. I am new to Java, so please be patient with my terminoloy mistakes and fumblings. I am reading in a file and I want to create a new object based on specific field (car for example). As you will notice I grab field 8 here label sIID.

BTW this regex grouping works fine. The problem is seen when I try to use the sIID variable in my new object creation process.
DateParse sIID = new DateParse();
My IDE is reporting "Variable sIID is already defined in the scope"
Is this possible? The assumption is that the sIID will have different value during the processing of the file. For example, car could mean truck, sedan, etc with operators like color, number of doors, mileage, top speed, etc.

AFAB dynamic variant creation for Posting period.

Business Requirement :
Business want to run AFAB transaction code every month automatically with schedule job.
system should pick present month period in posting period field.
i checked in variant creation against posting period there is no dynamic " D " in selection variable column.
how can i fix this.

Hi Jani,
Check with abaper if TVARV table can Help you in this case, or create a z program from AFAB. And add date field to it, and schedule job based on that,
I think TVARV table will be a better approach.
Another point to consider here would be that dep should be run once business is ready to do so, and has its own hick ups in business if corrections are required to be made after executing AFAB by job
