NIS master Configuration

How to configure a NIS Master server,
Lets I tell myself what i knows,
hostname:host
Domainname : domain
#cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 host domain
#cat /etc/defaultdomain
domain
copy all the files from /etc folder to /var/yp directory
#vi /var/yp/Makefile
change the entries
Dir=/var/yp
Dirpwd=/var/yp
#ypinit -m
hostname = host
primary server name = domain
ctrl+d
proceed automatically
But it is not binding to my domain when i restart my server.
Please provide the solution with an example

Which solaris version are you using?
Try to remove file /etc/defaultdomain and re-create it.
Do you have any messages in your syslog?
Did you do the next:
cp /etc/nsswitch.nis /etc/nsswitch.conf

NIS master server setup error

I am configuring a new NIS master server but when i wanted to start the setup process by the command ypinit -m, i get the following error messages bellow;
make: Warning: Target `all' not remade because of errors+

What i get from your post is, You are trying to install
1. Repository Server with External Database System.
2. Business Architect
and all this three ( Repository server, Database System and Business Architect) are on the same machine.
I would suggest the following steps.
1. Install your external Database system (Oracle 10g..) without creating any Database Instance.
2. Install Repository server Select the third option in datbase which say create a new instance and configure it.
When you choose the third option Repository server creates a Database instance and configures it for itself.
3. Install Business Architect with standard database.
you will get LOCAL server, click on Add server and add our repository server (please dont forget to Start the Repository server before connecting :) ).
You can do this all on same machine or all on different machines but there may be some firewall issue depending upon your netwrok configuration. so i suggest try n test all this on as same machine first.
I will be happy to answer any more queries on this topic...

NIS client lookup for NIS master server problem

Dear All,
I have solaris OS 10 installed on NIS master and slave server and also client. Sometimes, my client cannot work properly. Although it is configured to lookup for NIS master as the server, it lookup for slave server instead occasionally. It will be alright after reboot. Please advise.
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm not sure why you would want the client to not bind to the slave and only to the master. That's the whole point of having slave servers.
Just rerun ypinit -c on the client if you want to change which server the client binds to.
If your slave server is not working right, fix it.

Need a java code using swing that can do master configuration

I need a java code using swing that can do master configuration.For example, in the 1st screen it will show all configuration checke boxes . According to those selected check box, it will show the needed panels sequentially and finnaly it will update many xml files.

Recon account is a group of G/L accounts which is created by FI consultant. We just assign the recon account to the vendor master or usually FI maintains the company code side of vendor master.
Recon Account
use FS00/FS02
- create a GL account
- Go to Control Data Tab
- Choose appropriate Recon. account for acct type (Customer/Vendor)
- save it.
Reconcilliation A/c is just a G/L. You can prepare a G/L by using T.code FS00.
In Type/description tabe : select B/S A/c
In control data tab : select the reconcilliation A/c for account type i.e. whether it is customer or vendor or asset etc.
In other tabs : select as per your requirements and then save the entries.
In this way you can create a new reconcilliation A/c

Yes,for this there are two options.
1.By using the T.Code:SE91.
Enter the class as V1 and number as 423.
Click on Change.
Click on where used list.
Check programs and uncheck all.
Enter.
A list of programs will be displayed.If you double click on any program then,the lines where it is used are displayed.
Identify your warning message line.
Double click on it.
Change it from W to E before the numebr 423.
Save.
2.Unassign the block assigned for your customer in XD05 for your sales order type.
Suppose 01 is the block assigned for your customer.
Goto SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Sales>Sales Documents>Define and assign reason for blocking.
Assign reason for blocking.
Suppose "OR" is your document types.
Delete the entry 01,OR in this table.
Save.
In this case for this order type,you can create or change the order even though the block is assigned to it.

Equipment master Configuration data update

Hi all,
I need to update the configurable material field KMATN in the equipment master , i tried using BAPI_EQUI_CHANGE passing equipment number and new configurable material in structure (BAPI_ITOB_EQ_ONLY) but it doesnt update it and also it doesnt give any error.
Any suggestions or different way to do it.I dont want to use BDC here.

I'm able to change the decription of equipment no but the configurable material field doesnt change.
I'm passing the update flag for configmat and also equipment along with the configmat new value.
it_tab2-CONFIGMAT = 'X'.
it_tab2-EQUIPMENT = 'X'.
it_tab1-CONFIGMAT = '25567'.
It's not updating the KMATN field.
Any solution pls. ?

Procurement Type in MRP2 view - material master - configuration?

for the life of me, i cannot find how to configure this field. does anyone have any knowledge how to configure this field to have more options from a material type standpoint?
for example, if i use a VERP material type, i want to have the ability to choose in house (E) or external (F) procurement.

SPRO > Logistics - General > Material Master > Basic Setting > Material Types > Define Atrributes of Material Types.
Choose the desired material type > double click > on 'Internal/external purchase order' tab (section) please set '2' (or '1') for both external and internal PO.

GTIN & UPC Stored on the Material Master Configuration

Experts,
I am looking for a way to store the UPC code and the GTIN number on the material master in ECC. Like the EAN/UPC field I am looking to know if there is a way to have both the GTIN and the UPC field stored in the same field with SAP calulating the check digit and prefix. If not is there another field on the material master that I can store the value for the GTIN and have a way of storing the additional units of measure GTINs also. Any documentation around the storing of the GTIN / UPC would be appreciative.

GTIN has existed for several years to allow packages of retail items to be identified without going to the detail
of EAN-128. GTIN is essentially prefix indicating package type and then EAN-13 or zero plus UCC-12 (with check digit recalculated)

SAP does not seem to have defined a GTIN outside of MDM and CRM
We haven't implemented GTIN but do use EAN-13 and other EAN codes. For GTIN I would create a new EAN category as a copy of HE (EAN-13) and create a new EAN number range as 1001000000000 to 9999999999999 and assign the range to
the new EAN code. All this assumes you will assign your GTIN externally. The range copes with GTIN based on both EAN-13 and UCC-12 (=UPC). You see more EAN/UPC fields in material master additional data.

You should populate the directory with the ascii yp map sources, so that there's something from which yp
maps can be built.
