No audio after converting

I converted a video to iPod format but now there is no audio. The origional video is in MPEG format. I am using QuickTime 7 Pro.
Dell Dimen 8100 Windows XP Pro

QT will not export the sound from muxed mpeg files (mpeg-1 or mpeg-2), Some folks here have reported success with this Windows freeware:

Your likely using muxed video such as mpeg1/mpeg2, which is capable of being played back in QT (with the QT mpeg2 playback component in the case of mpeg2 source video) but not able to be converted.
I could well guess which software you should use to undertake your conversions but it would be better if you could provide details of our source video so that we can suggest an appropriate workflow based on that information.
You can use the Inspector window in QT to see this information.

Cant hear audio after converting videos for ipod

After i convert any video i have with itunes, it loses the audio. does anyone know how i can fix this so i can watch videos on my ipod with sound

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos in iTunes to iPod format they only show the video and no sound since iTunes (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.

Still no Audio after converting the video to MP4?

I have a 60gig IPod Video using windows XP. I have used the Videora Converter to Convert the video to MP4. Then I have imported the video into itunes and then put it on my IPod but there is still no Audio when I try to watch it. There is audio watching it through itunes though. I also tried clicking on "convert selection for ipod" in the advanced menu and it stated that it was already in the correct format. Can anyone help?

I have read that article and I thought it ment that the sound will work after you convert to the MPEG4 format, which I did.
Are you saying that if it starts out as "Muxed audio" then there is no way to convert it?
If that is the case then in what situation would you need to use the Videora Converter?

M4V No Audio After Converted in QT

I STARTED OFF WITH A MPG FILE THEN EXPORTED IT TO A M4V FOR IPOD (ALSO TRIED IPHONE) IN QUICKTIME PRO 7.5 AND THE SOUND WAS LOST. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

I specifically bought Quicktime because it said it would convert to iPhone - then bought the MPEG2 add on because it said it was needed to convert from MPEG2 to M4V, and I still don't get audio.
As David already pointed out, you need to use MPEG Streamclip here. If you re-read the Apple QT MPEG-2 Playback component description, you will find that it says nothing about the conversion of audio. IT IS A VIDEO CODEC and as such only converts the video portion of multiplexed MPEG-2 files. Multiplexed content (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and/or Flash) is not edit/conversion supported by the QT structure which is based on on audio and video "frames" being synchronized in a "time" reference rather than supporting interspersed blocks of audio and video data in a single stream which are kept synchronized spatially as with multiplexed compression formats.
Since you already have the QT MPEG-2 component installed, simply download the MPEG Streamclip application and use it for your MPEG-2 conversions. This application also requires the MPEG-2 Playback component but has the ability to demultiplex the audio content, to include AC3 which is also not supported "natively" by the QT structure, and bridge the "space-time" gap between multiplexed and frame-based compression formats to properly convert both audio and video to iPhone, iPod, and/or TV specific target devices.
As for having purchased QT Pro, hang on to it. Unlike MPEG Streamclp, QT Pro works in both a sequential linear dimension over time (like MPEG Streamclip), as well as, in a "layered track" dimension over time which MPEG Streamclip cannot do. Basically, these two applications tend to complement each other and what one cannot do, the other often can. IMHO, when paired together, the two make a powerful combination for many small editing and conversion work flows not requiring a full editing application like FCP or special import handling routines.

Audio issues after converting a media file to WMV

I am using the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 version, on a PC (windows Vista).
An issue often occures after converting a media (video + audio) into Windows Media format : once the conversion is over (after 2 - 3 hours for a 1 hour media file), the audio cannot be heard : we can only hear a very annoying bip all along the video.
This is currently the third time I am trying to make this conversion, each time I have to wait for the end of the conversion (3 hours) to notice that the sound is not correct, so I have to run the conversion once again.
Do you have clues concerning this issue?

If you are using Premiere Elements 11 on Windows Vista 32 or 64 bit, it is a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the 64 bit system and a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit system. As such, the maximum supported installed RAM is 4.0 GB of which 3.0 GB or less are available. But we will put that aside for now.
What are the properties of your source media and what project preset are you setting? Please give the details of the Publish+Share/Computer/Windows Media preset as well as the settings under the presets Advanced Button/Video and Audio tabs. Of specific interest are the combo of video and audio codecs.
Please confirm that you are saying that the problem does not exist for playback of the rendered Timeline in the Edit Mode Monitor prior to the Windows Media export.

Does iTunes normalize audio when converting to AAC?

Most of my mp3s are not normalized. I want to normalize these tracks before converting them to AAC. Does iTunes normalize audio when converting to AAC? Or do i need to normalize my mp3s first, then convert them to AAC? Thanks!

What exactly do you mean by "normalize"? Do you mean leveling the volume?
iTunes uses the soundcheck feature to do this. It doesn't automatically happen when you convert a song to a different file type.
Apply it in iTunes using the edit/preferences/playback menu (Windows).
Turn it on on the iPod using the settings/soundcheck/on menu.
After applying it in iTunes, sync your iPod to reflect the changes made.
There are 3rd party programs that do this more effectively (at least in my opinion).
For Windows there is mp3Gain/aacGain.

Video is faster than audio after capture....

This is a problem that keeps popping up here and there. It's weird. I will do a capture from a Mini DV tape to a external Firewire drive and when you play the clip in FCP the video is played faster than the audio. When you put it on the timeline the audio is the correct duration but the video plays much faster and then just has black to finish out the clip.... The really funny thing is that when you go directly to the clip in the finder and open it with Quicktime it plays just fine. But when you put it back into FCP (new project and everything) it will just keep playing the video faster than the audio...

Ok so after converting it in the quicktime player to a NTSC/DV DVCPRO video at 29,97 fps I open it in fcp and it tries to stretch it and to be like a 720p video file. I am really getting annoyed with this crazy stuff. I will export a little segment and you can play with it. See if you can make heads or tails.

hello , i use itunes convert MTV or movie to iphone version , after convert MPEG-4 video file ...that file no sound , before convert have sound. may i know how to settle? thanks

It is very possible that the original file is what is called a "muxed" file, which is the audio and video on the same track. iPhones and iPods don't like that kind of file, so when they are converted, they end up with video only. There are some 3rd party apps that can take care of that, but we can't talk about going around digital rights here. Try Google.

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
hit download now,

Can't create hyperlinks after converting a Word document with Acrobat XI Pro

Hello,
Here's my problem.
I'm making a catalog document for my company.
The document that I'm converting to PDF is made on Office Word 2013 and it's a .docx format file.
I'm on Windows 8 and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed.
Inside my word document I have some pictures that have a hyperlink. Those hyperlinks directionate to a bookmark inside the word document. Inside the word document, if I do Ctrl+Click over the image, it will go to the page that has that bookmark. And it works. Period.
Beside that I also have some Cross-references on the word document. Those cross-references basically are the page number from the bookmark reference. By accident on most of those cross-refrences I left enabled the "Insert as hyperlink" on the cross-reference box options. When I Ctrl+Click over those cross-references I also go into the page of that cross-reference.
After I convert the word document into pdf, I can't get any hyperlink on the pictures, if I simply click on them, like if I click on a hyperlink on a webpage or something similar, the pdf won't go the the bookmark on the page that I've set on the word document.
The funny thing is that if I click on the other cross-references I can go to the page were that cross-reference is...
I tried all the methods to convert the file in order to obtain hyperlinks on the images...
I tried to use the Acrobat tab and the File -> Save as Adobe PDF, as both uses Acrobat PDFMaker, but nothing works.
Even tried all options on Acrobat PDFMaker but can't get it. "Create bookmarks", "Add links", "Convert Word Bookmarks", "...Word Styles to Bookmarks", "...Word Headings to Bookmarks", none works....
If I try to simply print from inside Word by choosing the Adobe PDF printer (like if I choose a regular printer), in the printers options it doesn't show up any hyperlink/link/bookmark option related, so that way is definitely a no go...
To reference, on 2006/2007 I also worked on a similar project and used this method on the word document (on Word 2003). At that time I had another Adobe Acrobat version, can't remember what version was...
This hyperlink situation was without any problem. After conversion, on the pdf file, if I click on a image it went to the right place inside that pdf file...
So I'm simply lost wether it's a problem of me, a problem of Word, a problem from Acrobat... simply lost...
I'm desperated....please, someone help me!!!

Ok, sorry for never talk since the last time, but I finally discovered why I had this problem.
I found out that M$ decided somehow to change the process of embedded hyperlinks on a image, but in a docx it doesn't get affected. Only after transforming it into a pdf by Acrobat that the problem emerges...

Basically all I have to do is "Use Insert, Quick Parts, Field, IncludePicture. This inserts the picture in the old way as a field. You can use Alt-F9 to reveal the field codes and change the images to be embedded rather than linked."
Then, after converting it with acrobat, the pdf finally have hyperlinks on the images!!!
They change this on Word 2007. As I had the 2003, at the time, I didn't had this problem.
As I said, M$ changed something, but only is affected after converting with acrobat. So, acrobat also missed something in the process. I call it a 50/50 guilt.
To bad no one ever notice this problem...

Why do lines show up after converting Word doc?

After converting a regular Word doc, which doesn't 'appear' to contain lines around the paragraghs, contains lines in the PDF. I believe I have chosen the highest quality in the convert settings, and cannot figure out why I'm getting this junk in the PDF. I'm only having issues with a Word file received from the same person.
How do I clean up the Word doc before converting, I guess is the real question...

Wavy lines in bar charts after converting a Powerpoint to a pdf?

After converting a Powerpoint file to a pdf, the bar charts have wavy lines. The one thing I noticed is that the problem appeared when creating the pdf with Notes showing. If Notes are turned off, then the bars are fine.
Is there a solution for this?

Version is Office 2007.
OS is Windows 7.
Viewer - I think it is Acrobat 9 Pro.
When printing, the option to print notes is chosen. If the option is just slides, the bars in the charts are normal.
To create a PDF, the Powerpoint file is open --> then go to Print --> in the Print dialog box, change the printer name to Adobe PDF and print.
