No Bluetooth devices in My Bluetooth Places

Hi.
I cannot connect any BLUETOOTH devices to my Z60t.
I have a phone and a PDA that discovers my computer but I am unable to pair them. My bluetooth radio is working and turned on.
I have been on both the Microsoft and Lenovo troubleshoting sites and have searched through countless forums but have not found anything that will help.
When I go in on My Bluetooth Places there is no option to viewBluetooth Tasks and click View Devices in Range.and there is no Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood icon. The only option I have under "file" is "close"
Can anyone here help?

I guess I should be embarrassed...
I didn't follow the instructions properly while installingThinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate .. I forgot to uninstall it first.
Problem solved

Check if the device manager sees anything. Next start system Update and see if the drivers and software are being installed onto your computer. If all else fails go onto the Lenovo website and look for the latest software and drivers for your machine. Should work.

  • Dolphin 4.8 mounting devices - not shown in Places

    Hello guys!
"gvfs" is installed. Then I open "/etc/polkit-1/localauthority.conf.d/50-localauthority.conf" and set "AdminIdentities=unix-user:alex" which is my username.
    Then echo
[Mount system internal media for group storage]
    Identity=unix-user:alex
    Action=org.freedesktop.udisks.filesystem-*
    ResultAny=yes
    ResultInactive=yes
    ResultActive=yes
    to "/etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/mount.pkla".
I had similar config for KDE 4.7 and dolphin showed all devices in "Places" and was able to mount them at click. Now that I have dolphin 4.8 installed - it doesn't show unmounted devices in "Places" and this config doesn't affect dolphin.
I didn't install full KDE 'cause I run IceWM. Just basic kdebase-[lib,dolphin,workspace,runtime].
How to make dolphin show and mount all the storage devices?
    EDIT:
I forgot to autoload dbus. That's the reason.

  • CM7/8.5 - Is MAC address for a device stored any other place other than device name?

We are interested in obtaining the MAC of a soft phone through a query to the RIS port.  Everything is working fine as long as the MAC address that is written to the device name field by default is not changed by a user to read something else like machine name.  Is there a field other than device name that we should be querying for a device to always be sure to get the MAC address of a device?
Currently the XML returned by the RIS port is parsed to get the CmDevices.Name.  The returned MAC address is formed by returning this name minus any occurrence of the string "SEP".

    Hi,
CNAME resource records are recommended for use in the following scenarios:
    • When a host that is specified in an A resource record in the
same zone needs to be renamed
    • When a generic name for a well-known server, such as www, must resolve to a group of individual computers (each with individual A resource records) that provide the same
service, for example, a group of redundant Web servers
Therefore please try to create your CNNAM record in the same zone and try again.

I can't get Droid Turbo bluetooth to work in my 2005 Prius.  Droid Razr worked fine.  It seems to pair OK, and everything works great immediatly after pairing.  After stopping and restarting car there is a message saying it found bluetooth device, I can still place a call with the car system, but no sound or microphone connection to the car system.  Android tech support just said, "yea, that happens."  I have version 4.4.4.  Any ideas?

    Automata,
Oh no. Is never fun having issues with bluetooth. Did you have this issue with any of your previous devices? When this happens what steps do you take to get it working again?

  • How to force the "Bluetooth Communications Port" to be one of COM1 to COM8 ports?

Dear Lenovo Community, Happy Holidays to you all and wish you a great happy new year. Recently purchased a Bluetooth OBDII device and have difficulty making it to work with its provided software on my T61 (running original XP Home). My short story and question/problem is that I can open "My Bluetooth Places" and pair with the OBDII device as an "OBDII SPP Dev", but my T61 assigns serial port COM19 to it. The OBDII software which came with the device only can let user set to one of the COM1 to COM8 ports and in the properties of Bluetooth pairing, there is no way that I can select which COM port to use. I looked at the Device Manager and I do see these COM port assignments: COM4,5,6,7: Sierra Wireless (the HSDA modem in the laptop which I have never used BTW) COM 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17: Bluetooth Serial Port COM 18, 19: Bluetooth Communications Port and I don't see anything for COM1,2,3, and 8 My question is how to force the computer/OS to assign one of the COM1 to COM8 ports to my device upon pairing? Can I disable the Sierra Wireless model from the COM ports list and hope this will happen? Thanks for your help and inputs beforehand. Regards, AL

    Hi, AL_K
Have you attempted to change the port number in device manager itself? If you navigate to Device Manager and open the list of Ports, you can right-click on the device you wish to assign a different port number. After right-clicking, click Properties. There should be a tab called Port Settings. In here, you should find a setting to manually assign a port number.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes,
    Adam

  • T61 Bluetooth Audio needs to be manually selected

I am using a Motorola S805 headset with my T61.  They pair successfully and I have all necessary services activated.  However, in order to stream audio through the headset, I need to manually select the "bluetooth audio device" in the sounds/devices control panel.  Is there anyway to get around this?  Shouldn't the stream of audio be automatic?

    Hello,
    Welcome to the forums!
There sure is a way to automate the streaming.
    1) Turn on the bluetooth radio (Fn-F5), once the radio's on, right-click the bluetooth icon in the taskbar and select "Bluetooth Configuration". (Alternate way is to turn on the bluetooth radio, open "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop and select "Bluetooth Configuration" from the "Bluetooth" menu item).
    2) Click the "Local Services" tab, select "Audio Gateway" (double-click to open the properties) and check the box "Startup Automatically".
Next time you turn on the bluetooth radio and your headset, they should pair and the headset should automatically be connected.
    That should do the trick.
    Hope that helps
    Steve

  • X6 bluetooth and USB issue

My old 5310 had no problems connecting through bluetooth or cable to my pc. Now I updated to a X6 and nothing but issues connecting.
The bluetooth works sometimes, when it feels like it, when it doesn't work and I disable bluetooth on the phone, I can't enable it again, it just says something along the lines it can't execute bluetooth operation. First time I experienced it, I gave up and a little later I tried again, bluetooth enabled as normal and immediately connected and worked as normal.
Then I try to connect through USB cable, on which it only tries to find drivers (which it used to have when I first got the phone) and eventually I get a message the phone is still transferring files (which it isn't) and I need to enable PC Suite mode while that's what it's on.
I think there's something very wrong with the software..

    Hope your issue is solved.
    My issue is this:
    MY HARDWARE / SOFTWARE:
    - Nokia 6350 phone
    - IOGEAR GBU321 usb bluetooth
    - Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610
    - PC Suite 7.1.51.0
    PROBLEM:
PC Suite works fine with my phone if I'm in range. If I walk far away and bluetooth connection is lost, when I return to range, the synch btwn PC and Phone MAY or MAY NOT resume. Most of the time it does, but sometimes it does not.  I've tried to close/re-start PC-Suite to no avail. I've tried to re-detect my phone via PC Suite...nothing.
The workaround fix I've found  to resume the PC--Phone connection is this:
    - On the bottom left of task bar, right click on the bluetooth icon and "Explore My Bluetooth Places"
    - Delete "Nokia 6350 OBEX File Transfer"
    - right click on the bluetooth icon and select "Quick Connect"-->"File Transfer"-->"Find Devices"-->"Show All Devices"-->select the Noka 6350 (for some reason it's visible here)-->and click "Finish".
Then suddenly, my PC-Suite Icon show connected again and I'm back in business.
WHAT is causing this and HOW to fix this permanently ? Something is timing out in PC-Suite.
    Thanks,
    Neel

  • Pairing bluetooth with Oticon streamer

I have a work laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad T400, Windows XP Prof) and have been following the steps for pairing the laptop with my oticon over the ear bluetooth hearing aid with bluetooth streamer device (firmware 1.3). I followed the directions as stated, but still am getting audio from the laptop speakers instead of through the streamer (example playing music through Itunes gui).
    1) Bluetooth icon has green center
    2) Control Panel/Sounds and Audio/Audio has sound playback of Bluetooth Hands-free Audio
    3) Right click bluetooth icon/Explore my bluetooth places has Streamer 1.3 Hands-Free Unit Icon as green and status of connected and 2nd icon Streamer 1.3 stero audio as gray and not connected status.
    Question
For #2, if I select Advanced button, the speaker setup is Laptop stereo speakers, I guess I can select Stereo headphones... but should I.
For #3, should both be green instead of 1.

  • PC Suite 6.82 Windows XP 64bit Bluetooth Issue

    Hi,
I've been stuggling all week with an issue with PC Suite and bluetooth. I'm running Windows XP 64bit, service pack 1, WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 5.1.0.1700, a Kensington USB 2.0 bluetooth dongle, and PC Suite 6.82.22.0. I have no trouble connecting to my phone (a NOkia 6102i) via 'My Bluetooth Places', and I can also connect using the trial version of Oxygen's Phone Manager Software.
If I launch PC Suite and then open the connection manager it gives me four options: Bluetooth (Microsoft), Infrared, Serial Cable, or USB. This in itself doesn't seem right, as I understand it the Bluetooth option should say Bluetooth (WIDCOMM).
If I select the Bluetooth option I get the following error message: "Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available. (Code: OpoenMedia).
I have tried reinstalling the software, and the bluetooth drivers. I've tried different versions of PC Suite (6.8, 6.81). I have even tried a different bluetooth dongle (iogear) all to no avail.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Have you tried to use microsoft BT stack?
if you want to try to use MS BT driver:
    1. Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware and Device Manager.
    2. Open Bluetooth Devices (or Radios), select that device, click Action, Uninstall and OK.
    3. Click Action and Scan for hardware changes.
(windows should automatic update install MSBT drivers)
    4. After that there should be "Microsoft Bluotooth Enumerator" installed also.
(-> Does the MSBT work any better??)

    hi,
    I see you're using a 32 bit version
This will be the power management version suited for your system
      Lenovo Energy Management
Based on the Aida Report it is not seeing the Hardware At all,
Last 3 Steps I can think of are
    1. Try updating the Chipset
Try using this intel update utility see if it can update the chipset and some other driver in your system and after that check if you can see changes in Device Manager regarding the Bluetooth or try installing the Bluetooth drivers again.
Intel Chipset Driver Update Utility Windows 32 bit
    2.
BIOS and chipset are the only thing i can think of that can Disable it and left unseen by Windows otherwise the Bluetooth Device Module is really defective.
Im not familliar with the BIOS settings on 3000 G430 but Check inside your BIOS If you can see something like I/O port Access And make sure it is enabled or any bluetooth settings inside BIOS.
    3
Try Reinstalling the Windows OS And check again.
As an alternative you may use a small USB Bluetooth Dongle
