No Help Function in Pages 2?

When I click on Help, a window opens but without any reaction when entering a search criterion. Who is the help file? I can't find it.

Warning when calling function using page text

Hi *,
I have a function in package which generates some parameters for a link I want to put on bottom of the View Form.
The HTML I put in the bottom of View Form user text field looks like this:

The problem is that Desinger throws a warning when I try to generate and the auto-install option gets ignored due to this error...
Can I set Designer to ignore this "parse error", so that the auto-install works again?

F4 / Help Functionality for input field in custom java iView

Hi,
As we see many F4 help on each input field in a transaction, how can we mimic the same functionality in a Custom Java iView. For example, ME23N, you can search a PO based on some criteria, when i create a new custom java iview using BAPI_PO_DISPLAY, how can provide that F4 or help functionality to the Purchase Order field.

Hi Vijay,
the F4 Help functionality is always of big concern when you're switching from a R/3 or ABAP-SAP GUI environment to a webfront end. First of all: the convinience you're used to of creating a seach help and adding it to your data fields is gone, i.e. the current development status in the portal/java/webdynpro implies that you have to do most of the work on your own. Simple value helps might not be a problem, but complex ones are (as the one you've described). Here is a link to a tutorial in Java-webdynpro, maybe it gives you an idea:

Help Function in "Finder" Program

Dear all,
after running Windows 7 under BootCamp and having some problems with windows software i have decided to come back completely to OSX. Regrading to some problems with the partitions of the harddrive i have installed the OSX complety from scratch using the original DVD.
Everything worked fine.
I purchased MS Office ( I need it at work) for MAC and Finale for my music layout system and installed both.
Everything worked fine.
I changed my password before going on vacation and could not remeber when i came back from vacation.
I reset the password by using the original DVD.
Now when I open the Finder and want to use the search function in the help menu, the referenced themes are listed, but when I select one an empty sheet is opened.
When i select the MAC HELP first and search then, all themes and sheets are displayed.
In other Apple programs the help function is working in the direct search modus fine.
Any comments how to proceed are welcomed.

(I was just searching all Discussions for "iChat")
I am using Firefox 3.6.20 in Leopard.
My Firefox Help Menu > Firefox Help takes me to their web page
And not to the Mac Help Viewer.
iChat's Help Pages (iChat > Help Menu)
Are stored in the app itself and accessed by the Help Viewer app.
The Help Viewer.app itself is in System/Library/CoreServices.
On my Leopard Computer the Finder's Help pages do not appear to be in the Finder.app (also in Core Services) not in the Help Viewer.
(not sure where to look next).
If iChat is moved from the Applications Folder (even if to a Folder within the Applications Folder) you may find it cannot access the Help Viewer as the Path is incorrect.
The Help Viewer creates a .plist in your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
Did you import the Home folder from some where ?
If you go to that .plist and Highlight it and then do a Get Info (CMD and i keys together) does it say you Own this file (.plist ) in the bottom part.

Help functionality for basic users

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good way to implement a help functionality in your dashboards.
The users that work with our dashboards overall don't have much experience with IT, so i'd like to make a buildin function.
This could either be a question mark at every rapport to explain what it does and how you do it, or perhaps a F1 index help like you get with Outlook.
Does anyone have better ideas or could point out to me a good option?

If you have your sample sales webcat and rpd with you that comes with your install(10.1.3.4) you can check the dashboards there. They have implemented the Help functionality with a link and a report.
Any ways Let me explain
Create a sample report with a dummy object and directly go to your static text and you can include what ever text you need like how to use the dashboards or what is that dashboard used for etc etc. Save the report
Now go to your dashboard page and add the link object present on the left side pane and at the destination simple reference this request. Type "Help" in the caption.
you can simply use the fmap functionality in the image layout if you have one. Sample referecing as shown below

You can download the images online and make sure you store them under
C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res folder

Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 reinstalled because the Help functions gives an error message (7).

When I tried to use the Help function in Adobe Prhotoshop CS5.1 a pop up message shows errorcode (7) advising to reinstall the product. So I did, but it did not work. What can I do more? Mind you, the Help function in Bridge is working as it should and both products are installed at the same time.

Have you manually launched the Communiuty Help client and verified, if the PS help is actualyl listed there? If not, you might wanna add it to the list. Also take care to install al lthe pertinent updates for the help client...

Problems with Photoshop Elements 9 Help Function

I recently installed Photoshop Organizer and Elements 9. When I try to access any of the first six options in the help section of the menu at the top of the window I get an Adobe AIR error message stating that the installation of this application is damaged and to contact the publisher for assistance. This also occurs when I access the help button in one of the Photoshop Editor image processing functions. How do I repair the damaged help function of the software? Any help would be appreciated.

In your tutorial, having a problem linking the "Search the LabVIEW bookshelf" (on my D drive) help function with my Acrobat 4.0 reader(on my C drive)

When I was using the temp system demo vi, I selected Help>>Search the LabVIEW bookshelf. I then had a pop up window display tell me that the manual file "D:\National Instruments\LabVIEW 6.1\manuals\lvlib.pdf" could not be opened. I then did a search for this file and found that the pdf file is where it should be. I also checked to see that my Acrobat 4.0 reader files were in tact and they are. I was able to open up this file in Acrobat 4.0 but only by double clicking the name of the pdf file while it is highlighted in my find files function box (It also works if I go directly to the pdf file itself in its folder location a
nd double clicked on it). Nevertheless, for some reason when a vi is opened and when using the Help function in order to use "Search the LabVIEW bookshelf", it does not link to my Acrobat reader. Are my LabVIEW configuration settings wrong? I just recently had LabVIEW 6.1 installed. What do I need to do in order for LabVIEW to properly link up to my AcroRD32.exe file?

In your LabVIEW 6.1\help directory, please replace the lvmanual.vi with the attached VI and try to select Help>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf again.

How can I get help function?

My Mail help function is not working. After clicking on help, window appears, but stays empty. All other applications have properly working help function.

Try rebuilding your spotlight index.
1. Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Spotlight -> Privacy.
2. Add the hard drive to the panel by dragging it in.
3. Remove it by selecting it and hitting the minus sign in the bottom left corner of that panel.
4. Wait until when you look at the Spotlight menu it no longer says that it is indexing. The Spotlight menu is in the upper right corner of the screen, and has a blue circle with a white magnifying glass.

Error When Trying to use SAP Help Function

I receive the following Error while simply clicking on Help in SAP. I put a ticket in and out IT support was by SAP the following highly intelligent and helpful info/advice This is an actual quote!!!!:
“This option is not available if they are looking for training on how to use SAP, then need to request this from SAP support or an individual that is working with SAP in their departnemtn"
I was of the opinion that software comes with the help function in most cases (I say most because I could imagine someone making it a separate module but it would not go over well at all). I
I found a folder on the corporate shared drive called SAP_Help and took the following screen shots and there was a notedpad doc that listed every chm file and what it covered.
Next I opened SAP from Windows Server 2008 Applications Portal and so after I RDP'd into the server help works...
Anyone know why this is happening I went to school and got a degree in Accounting.

It seems you are using wrong client ID. Make sure your logon pad has right details. You should verify this with your basis team.
If the problem persists then try re-installing. But before you do that you can execute sapbexc.xla which is in the c:\program files\sap\bw. Type c:\ in cell c3 and click "start button". Any red flag means you have wrong version dll/ocx on your local drive, in that case you should reinstall with right patches.

Surely I am able to connect to the help function when Icontact the website
of AdobeLR5.The problem is as follows,
When I open LR5 on my computer and work with it and try to open the help
function in the software, I don't get it.
When I bought the CD I was naiv enough to believe that I get an independent
working software. I learned in the meantime, that the seller does not allow
to work with, without being connected to them.
I don't believe that I am paranoid, but I like to buy something and use it
without to inform the supplier that I do it. Otherwise I could have bought
the license fpr LR5 via internet.

My FCE Help function has disappeared

Does anyone know why my help function might have disappeared? I am using version 4.0.1 on my 21.5" new iMac. I have just bought the software too and made one software update. Since updating the software and clicking on Help, I am offered the user manual and various other links, but when I type in a help topic, anything at all, like "capturing video" for example, into the Search box, it tells me "No results found". Why would that be?

How to handle help function type in a dynpro

I've made a button with the functiontype H ( Help Function) and now I'd like to react on this button.
But in the POV AND POH I can't call a module, because for this I need an input-/outputfield.
(FIELD "FIELDNAME" MODULE "MODULENAME").
My question is, how can I react on this functiontype / "HelpButton" ?

Photoshop CS5 "Help" function not working - Adobe Air error message?

Installed Photoshop CS5, and thought everything was working okay, but when I click on Photoshop Help, I get the error message "Adobe Air - This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing......" I have re-installed first Adobe Air, same problem and then uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CS5, but the problem remains. When I first tried to use the Help function it tried to update something and for some reason this failed. I'm wondering if others have seen the same problem and know of a solution? Thanks, David.

Hello: there may be a configuration issue going on here. I have escalated this issue to our Help app engineering team. In the meanwhile, please try the following:
Uninstall the Adobe Help application: go to your Application folder > Adobe > Adobe Help (drag it to the Trash)
Delete the following directory:
USER NAME (home) > Library > Preferences > chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.
Empty the Trash
Manually update the application via this link: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/
Select "Photoshop" in Step 1 and then click the Install badge in Step 2. Make sure to select "Open" (and not Save) in the installation dialog box to fully update the app.
Note: The previous instructions did not include deleting the old application or its preference file. This will help ensure that it is thoroughly updated.
