No info in show conversion rules

Hi All,
i've got a simple FDM 11.1.1.2 application, SQL import (from an Oracle table) and mostly explicit mappings.
No scripts in the mapping, no logic accounts etc.
When i click the show conversion rules from the export amount it shows an emtpy screen.
Any suggestions what causes this?

Your FDM app is on an Oracle DB right?
When you insert the records, you have to capitalize each source member since Oracle is case sensitive. I recommend UCASE()

I have around 9 source systems, do I have to maintain data for all of them for 0SOURCESYSTEM?
I set data for CRM system and then tried to activate.. but still I'm getting same error.
I;m getting this warning too...
InfoObject 0FISCVARNT needs to be in key for DataStore object C_0SAL_D

Characteristic 0FISCVARNT is included in the data part of ODS object C_0SAL_D.
System Response
The fiscal year variant cannot be used in the update rules for calculating business hour characteristics.

Errors with the global conversion rule

Hi Guys,
When I activate the DSO,I get an error "Errors with the global conversion rule".I applied OSS note 1387854.But the problem still persists.I did not find any replies on SDN for this error,so posting it again.

the error might show due to which infoobject this error is happening.
that particular infoobject might conatin a transfer routine. Open the transfer routine in the infoobject, do a dummy change, save the routine and activate the infoobject, then try activating the DSO.
this might do the trick . Hope this helps.

Reduced message type - Idoc without conversion rules

Hi Friends,
Am facing a strange situation while converting the Material Master data from 4.7b to ECC using BD21 transaction with reduced custom message type. I have reduced the standard msg type MATMAS05 using BD53 for the required field mapping both systems and I written the code using the exit EXIT_SAPLMV01_002 based on client req.
The situation is that sometimes IDocs are failing and the error shows that some fields which I have not selected in E1MARAM segment of the reduced msg type are populated with some values(ex: zeroes-0, slash-/,spaces)
Note: Conversion rules are not needed for this scenario.
Please help me out how to get rid of this '/ ' or spaces which appear for unselected fields in outbound Idoc using reduced message type ?

I would like to fall back on your help on the conversion rule in BD79.
In our system, there is a HTTP connection used for sending IDoc to the website. The Unit of measurement need be converted when sending out to the receiver side. The problem is when I converted using BD79 with rule type 'Conver Sender fields', set conditon to convert unit '%' to 'wt%', but the value in recerive field always display in Upper letters('WT%').
Can anyone help me on this problem? if it can not be realized in this way, please show me another possible solution.
Besides, is it possbile to convert '%' to 'wt%' with some condition to make it just apply to some spectial characteristics?

Are the two GSS devices clustered ? Set one up as the Master GSSM and the other as the Standby GSSM adding the source-lists you've specified. Either of the GSS devices can reply to DNS queries and these will provide an answer depending on where the request was sourced from. It also depends on your DNS Heirarchy and where the request are coming from. Is there a DNS server sitting above your GSS devices ? How are the clients configured ? Do they point directly to you GSS devices or some other DNS device ?

We are running a fairly large legacy data conversion project from IMS and DB2 to Oracle which will involve quite a variety range of conversion/mapping rules (complex data manipulation to simple mapping). These requirement and rules involve both tech and business collaboration. Are there any data conversion rule managers tool out there that provide these type of capabilities:
1. Data conversion rule repository and version control
2. collaboration features (e.g. collaboration editing, commenting, decision capture, approval...etc)
We have check someed of the tools out there, and they are either generic requirement gathering tools, which is basically a few tabs with drop downs and a big text box, or some end-to-end data conversion automation solutions, which focus the execution of the data conversion instead of managing & tracking conversion rules.
Can anyone you help? please let me know if there is anything comes close that is practical and useful. Thank you.

Tubby, thank you for the info. Yes, we actually use ODI as a DEV tool for data conversion rule implementation and execution between our staging DB and target DB. However, ODI does not really have the capability to allow our tech and business to collaborate together and focus on "getting all these rules defined correctly". Having say that, ODI does have many very useful side features for our DEV to leverage and share information such as knowledge module and data mapping...etc
We would hope to have a practical data rule management tool & repository that allows tech and business to work together and gather all the rules and build up all the knowledge base in 1 single place. DEV/QA can then take away and focus on the implementation and validation.

Hi Mohan,
seems this message is common when activating BI_CONT.
I believe what i did was:
- go to the InfoObject
- verified Object Routine (check) (then was ok).
- Removed Object form DS
- Activated DS (w/o info object was giving problems)
- Placed InfoObject back to the DS
- Activated DS but now including Info Object
Believe that worked for me.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Reddy,
Goto Change mode of the info object 0DOC_CATEG. Just edit the description of 0DOC_CATEG by adding a "." and activate it.
Again change the description by removing the "." and activate the info object.
After doing this, activate the transfer rules. It'll work fine.

Data records in an IDoc getting erased, when conversion rules are defined

Hello ,
We are sending IDocs of message type GLMAST & COELEM from a system(version 4.7) to another system (version 4.6B).
The segment data in the IDocs are changed using the user exit enhancement KKCD0001. The function exits used are EXIT_SAPFKCIM_001 and EXIT_SAPFKCIM_002.
If there is no conversion rule defined in the receiver system, for the segments, the IDocs are posted correctly in the receiving system. But if we define conversion rules , then the data records for all the segments for which conversion rule is defined are getting erased, and an error occurs during processing of IDocs
Please let me know what can be the the reason behind this issue..And how to solve this..

MIRO- Unplanned Delivery Costs info. not showing on FS10N line items

HI,
Can anyone explain why when posting an Invoice with unplanned delivery costs using T-code MIRO, the purchase order info. does not show in the GL line item display T-code FS10N for any of the unplanned delivery cost line items. If anyone have a solution to allow the purchase order info. to show on the uplanned delivery costs line item that would be great.

Un-planned freight is entered on the header of the invoice and therefore relates to the entire invoice. Since, its possible to have mulitple PO's on one invoice it would only be possible to assign the PO when there is exactly one PO on the invoice.
Alternative, you can use planned freight or post the unplanned freight using the G/L tab in transaction MIRO. By using the G/L tab you can enter any information required for accounting (including multiple lines in case it is required to split the un-planned freight by several PO's.

Not on my document. I have a 7 page document open. The "flashing vertical bar" is at the top of page 3. I have the thumbnail view showing. I click page break and two blank pages are added to the end of my document. I have to scrool thru the pages to see that the 2 pages were added as they do not appear in the layout view... I'm not sure if it is inserting a "section" as it adds two blank pages.. But I am clicking on "INSERT PAGE BREAK".. So guess there are still a lot of bugs to fix..

We are working on HR in BI7.0 with Ehp1.
I am trying to Activate the Transfer Rules of 0HR_PA_PA_1 DataSource which has the BID (BW Development) as the Source System to itself in order to load 0PAPA_C02 (Headcount) InfoCube.
When trying to Activate, it gives the following error message:

In fact, we are Re-implementing 3.0b BW System in new BI7.0 Ehp1 System. I have checked the Config of InfoObject 0PERSLANGU to the one available in existing BWP (3.0b Production) system and it's all the same.
Has anyone come across similar error message and how did you resolve. Any help is very much appreciated.

When I activate BI content 2LIS_12_VCITM with transfer rule, The transfer rule was error with the message " Error in global conversion rule for InfoObject 0INCOTERMS2" and Mgs No. 263.
The transfer rule cannot be activated.
I checked the 0INCOTERMS2 infoObject . The global conversion rule is no error.

If you have not done so already can you apply the SAP note 1387854 in your system and it should prevent the problem from happening again. If you also reactivate the infoobject 0INCOTERMS2 in RSD1 then it should be possible to manually activate the transfer rule.
