I am Using Oracle 10g Application server. if we run a report from our front end - jsp , if the transaction takes more than 10 minutes then 'No Response From Application Server ' error message is coming in browser. How to over come this. whether i have to set any transaction time in application server. If anybody knows this kindly give reply immediatly.
Can you provide additional background information? Is this a in-house application serviced through an OC4J container or a Report from the Middle Tier install?
Is this request being front-ended by an OHS server? Are there firewalls involved?

There are settings in the reports configuration to modify your timeout. This is documented in the repors config file itself.

No Response From Application Server - Oracle 10g
I am Using Oracle 10g Application server.
When running a transaction (query to the DB) sometimes it takes more than the "x" session.timeout minutes seted.
Then 'No Response From Application Server ' error message comes out.
I don`t want to increase the session.timeout minutes because i do want it to work in other issues. The thing is that i don`t want the session to be terminated when waiting for the response from the DB.
How can i overcome this?

Sorry, i`m new in this. I`m using j2EE technology.
The thing is that i was trying to do a page that prints a loading... while waiting for the response from the DB, but when it comes the resultset, and i redirect to another servlet to print the results, an illegalStateException came out (the response has already made the commit).
So i was thinking maybe there was a solution for the application to know that the query is being made in the DB(and that the app/session isn`t stopped).
Maybe with another driver? now i`m trying the ojdbc14.jar.
Or maybe in J2EE I can do a page that self reloads every "x" minutes while waiting for the response from the DB as you said and when it comes prints it ?

It's very important that i understand and correct what is origin of this error , so i decided to create a new post.

some thoughts ...This error is not happening consistently, it triggers near the end of month ,naturally the amount of requests in the end of month is higher .. am i hitting som e limit ?

In the iTunes window, when I update my nano ipod, I get an error message "User ipod cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to." How can I overcome this error message.

It sounds like you are getting this error message that your iPod cannot be read from or written to when you are trying to update your iPod Nano. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved. Its pretty straight forward, just start at the top and work your way down as needed:

This is generally a Lion error.. and you will need 5.6 utility to get access to the disk area.
So download the real utility. Run it instead of v6 toy version.

Go to the manual setup, disk page and click on disconnect all users.. that will unmount all users connected to the disk and allow it to start working. But there are a number of other issues that are possible cause. Pondini lists some of them. -

So after posting, I decided to phone Apple iBooks support too, and one remark in the conversation we had led me to the solution. It might work for you too:
"...have you double-checked the names of all the files to see if there are characters in there that might mess things up" (not word for word, but you know what i mean).
I did, and there were. I got rid of an asterisk, and a hyphen (both in just one file name) and tried again - and the upload went smoothly straightaway.
It's something you might know, but easily overlook.

Hi, We have 3 web servers ( 4CPU) and 3 processing servers. WE have CMS on each processing servers. When we run performance testing then we get below error msg in event log and cms fails to serve.
Database access error. Reason [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Transaction (Process ID 56) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction..
Any solution? BO support told me that they can not change how boxi works.Hi Troy, How many CMS you are running? Are running only one CMS resolves this issue.? I did below to resolve my issues.
We have also optimized our SQL servers. We isntalled new SQL server Native driver and using those. We have also disabled lock escalation at count level but not at memory level. Though BO recommends to disable it at all. We have also increased the size of the tempdb file/log to 1gb. We also increased the size of the system DB file/log to 1GB. We also made changes for allow snapshot isolation on and read commited snapshot on. Boost SQL/Option fibers/async statistics was also set on.
See if this resolves your issue. The reason for this lock is that whenever any new session is created BO writes information about that CMS in temp. Table. Due to multiple CMS trying to lock records in that same table then if it crosses one level defined in SQL server then SQL server will escalate lock at table level. After this escalation table is locked and txn of one CMS is reverted.

when i try to execute process chain the DTP it is giving below dump. Exception CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED logged.
when i execute the DTP manually and trying to delete the previous request, it is giving for dump ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY.
so to delete the generated file from application server, how to delete it for specific dates?

Termination occurred in the ABAP program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" - in
"START_ROUTINE".
The main program was "RSBATCH_EXECUTE_PROZESS ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 2874
of the (Include) program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM".
The program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" was started as a background job.
and when i check the dump it is point out at below code

I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64 bit via bootcamp assistant. I open bootcamp assistant from utilities and i get the second window and try to click continue and i get a pop up, saying "The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extneded (journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows." I looked around on the internet, i found that my internal HD must be set to OS Extended (Journaled). I went into disk utility and i clicked partition tab and the option was set to OS extended (journaled). Any ideas on how to overcome this error so i can install windows 7?Error is:
1: common
2: misleading and poorly worded
3: space must be:
A: contiguous, that means unfragmented and in ONE section, not multiple
B: files cannot be loced, anchored or in such a manner as to prevent or block partition operation
C: to move, unlock and shuffle files requires booting from another drive or device
Shrink the HFS+ volume by as much or more than you need to set aside to use
If that does not,
Try iDefrag from another hard drive or by burning and using its own CD that is just for consolidating free space
Clone your system (should have backups already, clone is just bootable)
Erase and restore from clone - SuperDuper does consolidate files and free space and result in unfragmented (99% success rate)
None of which has to do iwth what that error message says. This error has been almost a daily threat topic - has gotten less but has not "gone away."
