No sample database in Fix Pack 8.1.1.3

Greetings, everyone.
Currently, we run Siebel 8.1.1 on a Windows 2003 R2 Server. We want to install Siebel Fix Pack 8.1.1.3.
In order to do so, I downloaded all 4 files from patchset 8.1.1.3 21219 SBA SEBL_ARU, unzipped them and created the installation image with Windows_ImageCreator.exe. The process completed successfully. However, we noticed that in the "Select products for image creation" screen there was no choice for Siebel Sample Database. And, indeed, the Installation image has no ..Siebel_Sample Database subfolder.
This seems wrong because at page 454 of document "Siebel Maintenance Release Guide, Version 8.1.1.x, Rev S" there are instruction to install the Fix Pack for Siebel Sample Database.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi,
Recently I have installed Siebel 8.1.1 version on Windows Server and downloaded the Fixpack version 8.1.1.4 version.
I have extracted the JAR files using Image Creation and am unable to find the "Sample Database" setup.
I thought we wont require the Fix packs for sample database. Fix Pack for Tools & Web Client is enough.

BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 fix pack 2.1 - Database error occured - "Error on fetch"

As per SAP recommendation we have upgraded our SAP BI system from BI 7.0 to BI 7.01 (Enhancement Pack 1).
And BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 to BO XI R 3.1 SP 2 fix pack 2.1.
After applying fix pack 2.1 on BO server, suddenly the reports on one of the Universes throwing error as follows:
A database error occured. The database error text is : (CS) "Error on Fetch". (WS 10901).
We have to apply Enhancement pack (SAP BI 7.01) and fix pack 2.1 (on BO) before this weekend on production environment.
Can you please help us if you are having any idea why this error occurs upon BO fix pack 2.1 installation.

The query works well in SAP BI side using RSRT / BEx Analyzer.
I have created a new universe on same BI Query, still the problem exist.
We have created one new BEx query on same InfoProvider and then Universe. It works fine.

Report Selection Formula Error with Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 Fix Pack 3.5

Hello,
My name is Carlos, and I would like to report a defect found in the Crystal Reports 2008 SP 3 Fix Pack 3.5 Runtime that is affecting the majority of our reports. As well, I would like to ask if there is a simple workaround that does not involve updating hundreds of reports.
The issue is that the runtime engine incorrectly returns the report selection formula. I have included sample code showing what I mean.
To reproduce;
1. Create a simple report that has a date range filter like:
({Orders.Order_Date} >= {?START_DATE})
AND ({Orders.Order_Date} <= {?END_DATE})
2. Create a test app as follow that loads a report using the following code:

The expected value is:

If we were to repeat the same test above but use the Crystal Reports 2003 SP3 runtime (i.e. no Fix Pack), which can be dowloaded from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123592010E/cr2008sp3_redist.zip], we would get the correct report selection formula. A side-effect for this incorrect report selection formula is a runtime exception complaining about an errorkind and a boolean being expected.
Do you know if there is any workaround that I can apply in code, perhaps a different Fix Pack? Is there a Fix Pack expected to be released soon? It is not practical for us to update our reports and use a different style in the record selection formula because we have many such reports, and our customers probably have even more.

EAS 6.5 fix pack 3 login issues

I was successful in installing the base s/w for 6.5 and was able to login with the admin password login. Installed the fix pack 3, install logs shows no errors, but logging into the console for the first time with the admin password login gives me the following error message. "Username or Password is not correct, or there is a problem with the Administrations Server"Rebooted the system, recycled the services. Could not fix the problem. Please help.ThanksAnde

Problem after installing upgrade to Fix Pack 2

Hi,
I have a formula which is performing differently after installing Fix Pack 2. The formula is being used within the spreadsheet component and I've selected the ignore blank cells in values on the behavior tab.
The formula works correctly with Fix Pack 1, but not with Fix Pack 2.
In Fix Pack 1, the spreadsheet component in design mode correctly displays one row of data (headers).
In Fix Pack 2, the spreadsheet component in design mode incorrectly displays multiple rows (this should still only show the header row).
My formula is:
IF(ISERROR(FIND($A$2,D23,1)),D23,REPLACE(D23,FIND($A$2,D23,1),1," "))
Basically what this formula does is replace a CR/LF in a field with a space.
We backed out Fix Pack 2, and the formula works correctly.
Anyone have any ideas on why Fix Pack 2 is causing this formula to behave differently?

Could you install FP3 for Xcelsius and see if this works fine?
Also try to create a sample model in FP2 with the similar formula and check if it works.Let me know what happens if you install FP3.

How to restart the DB fix pack installation script

Hi, Gurus.
Good day.
I'm in the middle of applying the fixes (9.7.0.9..) in database production of DB2. However it stopped in task31 but we managed to identify the error. What are the proper steps in order to rerun the script? Because I'm hitting this error message that the fix pack image are already at 9.7.0.9 when I reran the installFixpack -b <path> script.

Before executing the post scripts have you performed the below mentioned steps
Updating the instance
DB2DIR/instance/db2iupdt <instance name>
Binding steps
db2 terminate
db2 CONNECT TO dbname
db2 BIND path\db2schema.bnd BLOCKING ALL GRANT PUBLIC SQLERROR CONTINUE
db2 BIND path\@db2ubind.lst BLOCKING ALL GRANT PUBLIC ACTION ADD
db2 BIND path\@db2cli.lst BLOCKING ALL GRANT PUBLIC ACTION ADD
db2 terminate
If not perform these steps and then proceed with post scripts.

Installing Siebel with sample database

I am totally new to Siebel. So I want knoe through Siebel sample database.In one of the forum it was mentioned that I will get sample database in Siebel tools on https://edelivery.oracle.com/.So, I have downloaded Sibel Tools from 8.1.1 from the same site. But there I have all JAR files. I don't know What I have to do with that. Can anyone help me with this? Right now I am going through training but to practice or understand I need Siebel Application with sample database. Please help me with this

I am doing the same but I encountered one more problem now. I tried to search on other forums but no solution.
The 3rd step in the Siebel Client installation - "step to select a language pack"
The installation wizard peforms the product-sepcific prerequisite checks and when i click on continue i get the below error msg
" No translations found for hiException_desc"
When i click on contiune to use the defualt value and go on, it takes me to step 3 "Select Languages"
I do not see a list of available language.
When i select Next, it throws a msg
'Select atleast one language and English is compulsory for Siebel business application client to work"

Error in creation of sample database during installation of Oracle8

I am trying to install Oracle8 for Intel Solaris8. Near the end of installation - running database configuration assitant, the creation of the sample database failed by an alert:
ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE
I also tried to run database configuration assistant in custom mode separately, "ORACLE not available" message came up.
I think ORACLE should be connected and running before creation of the sample DB, like installation of Oracle in Windows.
Anyone has the same problem or can give me a help?
The Oracle(8.1.7) CD comes with Solaris8 (07/01) package.

I would guess that your kernal parameters have not been set. Check you oracle install guide for the appropriate additions to /etc/system for semiphores and shared memory segments. If you have not made these changes, the database will not come up.

Siebel 8.0.0.12 Fix Pack; Unable to get the seed from binary file.

Can anyone throw some light into what action is required on my scenario.
I have applied Fix Pack Siebel 8.0.0.12 on top of 8.0.0.11 SBA. After it is appled, I am facing a documented issue within the Release Notes for the 8.0.0.12 Fix Pack
The issue is "UNABLE TO LAUNCH URL AFTER APPLYING SIEBEL 8.0.0.12". I tried the steps given with the MR document, however, I am still having this issue.
I am also not sure what is expected at the step of; Run the following command: seedgeneratorutil myseed.dat abcdef .
It's asking me for a value to enter for seed at command prompt. "Enter the seed":
what I should give here. As an assumption values,I gave SADMIN and tried to launch but still shows up the same error

Maybe this is only a sample schema in a database, not a sample database.
Create a new one and you will have this sample schema and tables.

What are the ODBC connect details for the HR sample database?

I have installed Oracle Express on Ubuntu 8.10 and read the Getting Started tutorials. Everything worked fine.

The Getting Started tutorial says the userid and password are both hr, but what is the data source name (dsn) to be used with the SQLConnect?

Before running my odbc test program I issued
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib;export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
and checked via env command that the ldlibpath actually had been set correctly.
After SQLConnect received the following error:
Usage error: SQLConnect: dsn=hrdsn, user=hr, password=hr <<< output by my test program
1: st=IM002, nerr=0, msg=
[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified
The first part of the error message hints at there being something wrong with dsn=hrdsn. I don't understand the second part 'and no default driver specified'.
I am totally stuck. Advice would be most appreciated.

Oracle® Database Express Edition Installation Guide for Linux talks about Compiling the Oracle ODBC Driver Demos. It tells you to download and install the unixODBC DriverManager from unixODBC. On Ubuntu this is already preinstalled and/or available via the Synaptic Manager. It also instructs you to run a makefile demo_xe.mk to build an odbcdemo program. The makefile did not work for me (hundreds of compilation errors), but I looked at the odbcdemo.c code and could see that dsn=TESTDBDSN for user=hr and password=hr. In other words, by luck the demo program seems to be connecting to the HR sample database.
I changed the /etc/odbc.ini file to:

BatchAutocommitMode = IfAllSuccessful
CloseCursor = F
DisableDPM = F
DisableMTS = T
Driver = OracleExpressdrv
DSN = TestDBDSN
and also in my test program which now produced the following error:

[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_HENV failed
which shows that the unixODBC driver manager has loaded the driver and that the driver immediately encountered problems.
The sql calls issued before the SQLConnect("TestDBDSN", "hr" , "hr") were OK, i.e. these:

However, the error appears after SQLConnect and yet the rc0 was reported as OK.
The error message 'Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_HENV failed' is totally unhelpful to me as a user since I don't know the conditions that lead to failure. I really think this calls for some documentation. Such documentation should be complete, self-contained and correct and give ALL OPERATIONAL steps, i.e. I want to know exactly what I have to do. Ambiguous English often referring to undefined terms is not what Oracle beginners like myself want.
I don't know if this is a bug. It is so fundamental that Oracle ODBC driver writers could/should not have got it wrong. The connect does not even start.
I have googled for hours, but every lead has failed.
I don't want to give up on this. What can I do?

Crystal 2008 Fix Pack 1.2 Changes?

I have 2 questions.
1) What has changed in Crystal Reports Fix Pack 1.2 (Posted 01-13-2009)?
2) Is there a mailing list or RSS feed or something I can sign up to so that I am notified when a new HotFix / Service Pack is released for Crystal Reports 2008?

I did as you instructed but my problem is still unresolved...
I downloaded 'cr2008sp1_fp12.exe' from the [Business Objects Download Page|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]
I ran the application and browsed to where the files were extracted in my case (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\package)
After investigating all the files I was unable to find a 'ReadMe' file.
Here is a summary of what I did find:
1) CrystalReports.msp
2) license_xx.xxx (License files in many different languages and in TXT, RTF and PDF)
3) What appears to be 'localized' versions of the same 'CrystalReports.msp' file
If anyone can give me a specific list of what is changed I would really appreciate it.

BO XIR 3.1 Edge- Problem installing Fix Pack 1.1

I am trying to install Fix Pack 1.1 for XIR3.1 Edge.
The BO installation is installed on c:\businessobjects
When asked for Server Instance and Service Name:
SERVER INSTANCE = Server name
SERVICE NAME = defaults to TomCat55
However, I get this error. Where am I going wrong?
Application server instance not detected in directory '$/conf/Catalina'.

Hello,
XE ships with the Sample Application that includes the HR schema with some objects to work on. By default, the HR user account is locked so you need to unlock it first. It's usually a good place to start as many current and future documentation based on XE will include examples from this schema.
