No yield for operation in the parallel sequence.

Dear all,
I have to maintain one operation in the routing which is just supportive one. The yield for that operation is 0, also the confirmation is just a formality. Hw to map this in the routing?

Hi
You need not go for parrellel sequence.
you can go with dummy operation with dummy work ccenter or no work center.
But keep the control key with confirmation field blank meaning confirmation possible but not necessary.
Try this.

  • The deleted operation affects the confirmed yield of the parallel sequence

    there is a production order.
the control key of the last operation is PP03,and it's confirmation is : Milestone confirmation.
and the production order has a parallel sequence,a external processing operation.
but i marked the external processing operation deleted.
then i confirm the last operation, and it's sysstatus is CNF
but the parallel sequence operation is not CNF.
    WHY?

    Dear,
did you delete the operatrion after release or before the release?

  • Can LabVIEW global variables be shared between UUT sequence steps in the parallel sequence model?

Sorry for this simple question,  I'm having a hard time finding this answer.
If I launch a sequence to run on two UUTs in the parallel sequence module,   can I get both UUTs to run LabVIEW vis that use global variables such that :
    1) UUT 0  executes 20 LabVIEW Vi  steps asynchronously,  5 of which access data from LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
    2) UUT 0 executes the same 20 LabVIEW based steps asynchronously  5 of which access data from then same LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
I am a little worried that using file globals may have some delays or more of a race condition than using native LabVIEW global variables like in a single labview application perform.
QUESTION 2:  Are file globals actually written to the hard drive and shared between parallel sequences through file transfer?  OR  are they in memory?

    Hi bdwhaley,
Are your parallel sequences only reading from the global variable? Or are they writing to the variable as well? If it is just reading, then you should be okay. File globals are read from memory. Every time they are read, a copy of the data is made in memory.

  • How do you get a station global or any variable to be read across UUTs executing in the parallel Sequence model?

    Dear  Support,
I have two questions regarding the parallel sequence model:
I am trying to find a global variable or any variable that can be universally read from any thread / step .   For instance:
    - Parallel sequence Model
    - 2 UUTs
    - The main sequence has 20  steps
    - I am looking for a variable that can be read universally across both UUTs in any step.  I have tried many, even the station global variable - as a Boolean - for "Abort" .  But that did not work either.
Question TWO:   How can I bring out this universal variable to the UI ?  Can you point me to an example?    Do I use the "Lookup"  ,.  I could not get that to work.  Can I use the "Label"  ?  I could not get that to work neither.
    Thanks! Brad

  • Extracting return operation from a parallel sequence in a routing.

    Hi all
I need to extract data on some existing parallel sequences in routings from R3. One of the fields i need is the return operation for each parallel sequence.
I was hoping the data would be in PLFL which contains most of the sequence information I need. But alas it doesn't have the return operation.
Checking with F1 and the tech button shows me that the field i want is PLFLD-VORNR2. But PLFLD is a structure that I can't get to.
Does anyone know how to extract this info from the system?
    Regards
    Simon Pedersen

    Hi Simon,
The field that you're looking for is PLFL-BKNT2 (for the return operation). Pay attention that in this field there's a number that is representing the operation node number, not the number that you see in the routing screen.

  • Parallel sequence - scheduling operation

    Hi,
when I was creating parallel sequence in routing I was faced with problem in scheduling operation.
After making a routing with parallel sequence, which are executing on the others work centers, system doesn't take into consideration the fact that order is divided on for example two work centers ( parallel sequence ! ).
How to divide the time of operations for equal parts ( or different proportion ) in two work centers.
Please help me solvede this problem.
    Artur

    Artur,
The logic of parallel sequence is bit different from what you expect.
The parallel sequence is the sequence of operations which runs parellel to main sequnce.
But you can use it to serve your purpose.
After creating the parallel sequence in the routing, select the standard sequence, click on operation.
In operations overview, select the desired operations & follow path, 'Details'-- 'operations' or press F6.
In the operation details screen, under 'Unit of measure conversion', maintain value against 'Header' as 1 & against 'Operation' as 0.5 (if you want to divide the value equally).
Navigate with the arrows in the upper left & maintain these settings for the desired operation.
    Now click on 'Sequnces'.
Select the parallel sequnce & repeat the above given procedure for the desired operations in the parallel sequences aslo.
Now whenever the order will be created, the order quantity will be divided equally on the sequences & accordingly scheduling will yake place.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Error in schedulinq parallel sequences with flow production operations

We have a routing with a standard sequence with operations in wich we have set "Continuous flow prod"
    and "Min. Send-Ahead Qty=1".
We have a parallel sequence as well with operations set in the same way "Continuous flow prod"
    and "Min. Send-Ahead Qty=1".
When you run the transaction "MD11" to create a planned order for the item the scheduling of the operations is correct
as regard the standard sequence, the system, correctly,  schedules the operations overlapping
them according to lead time set in the operation details.
But the last operation of the parallel sequence is scheduled to finish the whole lot before the operation
following the "return operation" . The system doesn't overlap this operation. In this way the
last item of the last operation (in the parallel sequence) isn't finished at the same time
with the last item of the "return operation" (in the standard sequence) as we like it would be.
We have set "Backwards scheduling" type on customizing and we use the "Alignment key= 2 "
for standard sequence and in the parallel as well. We have also tryed to set "Alignment key= 1"
in the parallel sequence but the results are howewer not correct.
In conclusion the schedulation of  continuous flow production operations
doesn't work properly between operations belonging to parallel sequences.
Could you suggest me what to do?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
      I tried with 5 ops 10, 20, 30 ,40,50 ( same work center  wc1)
Set up time 1, Process time 1min for 1 pc
set the continuous flow prodn i at op 20 with min send ahead qty 1
      Also a parallel seq was created with 3 ops op20 ,30 , 40 .
set up time was 2 min for all work centers( same work center wc2) and proc time
time is 1 min for  1 pc
In that set the  continuous flow prodn at op 20 with min send ahead qty 1
      sceduling type was forward
.Alignment key was 2 for both std seq and parallel seq .
After scheduling found that op 20 in std seq starts at 6.14am and op 40 ends
at 6.47 am where as in parallel seq op 20 starts at 6.11 am and op 40 ends at
at 6.47 am which is correct.( branch op is 20 and return op is  40)
The three minutes late start in op 20 of std seq  is due to 3 minutes extra time
defined for three  work centers setup time.
I also tried with alignment key 1in both std seq and parellel seq.
Kindly check that you have maintained the continous flow prodn radio button
in the same operation in both std seq and parallel seq.

  • Production Order not printing with Parallel Sequence ?

    Hi All,
User is unable to print Prod. Orders when Parallel Sequence is used, but Orders using Standard Sequence are printing fine.
Print is done in Update Task, so User is able to release the Order and when he saves the Order, the Order should get printed.
Currently this is not happening. There is no spool generated.
Can anyone please tell me the printer configuration required for this. Or any other configuration which we are missing.
    Thanks,
    Bhuvan

    Dear Bhuvan,
I'm not sure if this is the issue,at a high level, check if the control key assigned to the operations in the
parallel sequence supports for Printing in General(check box set).

  • Using TestStand 2.0, what is the best way to run a smaller sequence, in parallel to the main sequence, and access the main sequence's FileGlobals?

I did ask this a while back and appreciate your responses. We did upgrade to TestStand 2.0. The basic problem is that I have written and TestStand sequence to test Avionics black boxes. We use Excel to specify the signal names and input data and expected output data for thousands of test cases. My LabVIEW VI's are small generic modules that refer back to TestStand to determine how to set or get the signals. This way, on other projects, we simple change a few signal names, instruments, and were good to go. We use Analog, Digital, Pulse Trains, Synchro Resolvers, LVDT/RVDT, power supplies, logic analyzers, ... to perf
orm these test. The TestStand sequence can run different black boxes on difference test benches based on the data contained with the TestStand FileGlobals. Now I have come across a special situation where in a couple of input signals are set based on a couple of output signals. I developed a short sequence to read the output signals, compute the values of the inputs signals, and set the instrument to send that data to the UUT for those couple of signals. Anyway, I have to reference the FileGlobals to determine what the instruments are and how to access them are used for the signals involved. Since I have a lot of FileGlobal data, I can not pass it as parameters to the parallel sequence.
What I would like to be able to do is just reference the main sequence's FileGlobals as if they were the parallel sequence's FileGlobals.
I am willing to send a copy of the sequence being used to whomever thinks they know a good way to accomplish this if it would help them to determine what I am t
rying to do. I will need to know who you are since we do not want this being published, as is, since it contains some signals names which the company that I am consulting at may consider proprietary. You can
email me directly at my company
    [email protected]

    a) If the parallel sequence is in the same file and...
a1) ...you launch the parallel sequence as a thread in the execution of main sequence, you do not need to do anything. The sequences share the same file globals
a2) ...you launch the parallel sequence as a separate execution, you must mark the file globals as shared by all executions. You specify this in the Sequence File Global control on the sequence file properties dialog box.
    b) If the parallel sequence is in a different file (or even the same file), you can pass the entire set of file globals as a single sequence parameter to the parallel sequence when you launch it. Make a Container parameter and right click on it to turn off type checking. Pass FileGlobals to the parameter. When you edit the subsequenc
e, you won't be able to see specific file globals under the parameter but they will appear at runtime.

  • Parallel Sequence

    Hi,
I have defined a parallel sequence for a material in routing. Say material has 4 operations 0010, 0020, 0030, 0040. I am having 4 diff work centers for the four operations. Now the output of the 2nd operation 100 and the capacity of the 3 workcenter in 50 so I want utilize the parallel sequence. Now while creating a production order, system is by default selecting the std. sequence and when I go for confirming the the operation 0030, i should get two workcenters for confirming the qty. My requirement is to confirm the qty against the actual workcenter where it is performed

    Hi,
while confirming the order I am facing a problem. while confirming operation 20 and 25, the system is accepting the total qty. for individual confirmations. which is wrong, if I confirm 50nos. against operation 25, it should automatic give rest 50 nos. against operation 20. same control keys are kept for the operations PP01.
Pls let me know how to avoid this duplicacy while using parallel sequence.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Parallel Sequence Routing using RCPTRA01

    Hi all,
I've a requirement where i need to Upload Parallel Sequence Routing .  I'm using RCPTRA01 for  created Standard Sequence Routing . Can anyone help me how to Upload Parallel Sequence Routing  using RCPTRA01.

    Two ways.
    1.  Use the parallel sequences you have created and apply 1/2 the time required to process a part to each operation.
    2.  Use a single sequence and create the first operation with 1/2 the time and a second operation immediately following with overlapping and zero offset time.

  • CTM can consider parallel sequence?

    Hello experts,
My customer consider to use CTM with parallel sequence.
REgarding that, I found a SAP note 1177608. It describes as below
u201CDuring the CTM-PDS transfer, the system creates the relationships of the parallel sequence of a routing, even though the parallel sequence is not supported by CTMu201D
By the note, parallel sequence can be created, but parallel sequence is not supported by CTM engine.
Is there any work around for achieving it?
    Kind regards,
    Seongsik

    Hello,
I went through this and checked with development team.
CTM really do not consider parallel sequence and It currently is not planned to support parallel activities
    on CTM for future releases.
Regarding workaround, I do not know any as well.

  • Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.

    To the Report Design Team,
It has been suggested that I post this issue here based on another thread I started: Re: Memory full. Not enough memory for operation.
The template contains a single 24 bit PNG image as a background in the Page Header section, plus 9 image records from a SQL Server image field over 3 pages (3 images per page).  The images are all JPG at 3000x2000 (digital camera).
To summarize, we are experiencing three problems.
    1. CR2008SP2 Designer issues a Memory Full error when Exporting to PDF.
    2. Using a 3rd party PDF Printer (Bullzip PDF) and CR2008SP2 Designer generates a PDF, however, the CR2008SP2 API throws a "Memory full" exception suggesting Designer and API are different (see stack trace in linked message above).
    3. With only 3 images on 1 page, CR2008 Designer Export to PDF takes 110 seconds to generate a 24MB PDF while our third party PDF Printer generates the same report in 17 seconds and 580KB.
Edited by: Don Williams on Sep 30, 2009 6:43 AM

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save.  Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full".  If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error.  However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything).  The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem.  Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2.  The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size.  However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing.  When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have?  Are there known problems with large images in reports?  Do we need to lodge a formal support request?
    Regards,  Grant.

  • How to use parallel sequence for split the operation qty. urgent or other o

    PP guru
    My scenario is as follows.
    I ve one material suppose…xyz.
For that material I' ve created bom, routing.
In routing I' ve mention only one operation. 0010.
Now I' ve the production order of 1000 kg.
I want to use two work centers to run this production order. ( e.g.work center a and b)
In routing I used work center a.
In short I want split that operation.
So what I ve to do or use parallel sequence and how???
or else is there any other option to split the order to two or more machines/work center?
    Pls explain me in brief.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi,
If you want to carry the production with two different work centers , first you need to split the operation qty.
For this in the order type dependent parameters OPL8
in the controlling tab page enable the indicator Cost collector
and set the default rule as PP2.
Create a Product cost collector with KKF6N.
Now in the production order , select the operation and choose functions--->>> split.
Now enter the operation split quantity and execute.
Now in MD04 you can see two production order.
In the second production order change the work center in the operation overview as desired and save.

  • Confirmation of parallel sequence operation.

    Hello friends,
I want to do confirmation of parallel sequence operation. I use 3 or5 work centers  at a time for doing one operation. So i have defined parallel sequences for standard sequence. When I do confirmation of quantity and activity time in CO11N for one parallel sequence, other sequence quantity and activity time should be decreased. But system takes actual  quantity and time.
How to make settings , so that  quantity and activity values should be decreased automatically for next parallel sequence.
    Waiting for Reply!

    Dear ,
You are not able get the paralle sequence operation in CO11N because production order will copy the Routing based on the Order Type dependent paramter-OPL8-Routing  set up.
Here , basically , you might have chkeced Alternative Sequence  and Sequence Exchange field (0)  , so while creation production order , routing with operation which are in alternative sequnce will be copied  and will be used in CO11N confirmation.
2.You need to maintain "Operation Sequence is not checked " for operation sequence for the Ordertype/Plant combination in confirmation parameters using transaction OPK4.-Confirmation parameters of Order
    Try and revert back
