Nokia - Ms Office Compatibility

I'm a Nokia 5300 XpressMusic owner and my question is: How can I get a text format file(Microsoft Word genre) on my phone excepting the "Notes" application already installed on my device? Is there any java software that may help me? [-O Thanks!

I've never seen or heard of any good Java applications that can handle Microsoft Office documents.
If you switch from an S40 based phone to an S60 based phone, then there are many options (and most Nokia S60 models come with QuickOffice viewers included, and you can upgrade to the Premier version with editing support; never tried that myself, as I'm not a big fan of looking at MS Office docs on a small screen).

  • Remove microsoft office compatibility pack 2007

    We have upgraded all clients to Office 2010 so there is not need for microsoft office compatibility pack 2007 so I want to remove it.  The compatibility pack was pushed via GPO.  I was removed from GPO but "let user continue to use" was selected.
    Now when trying to remove it using msiexec /qn /x{90120000-0020-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE} on almost all pcs I am getting a failure and it is not uninstalling.  MSIEXEC error code it 1605.Jason

    I haven't any HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.
    But I found the key
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\000021090200A0C00000000000F01FEC\InstallProperties
    with values
    DisplayName     = Paquete de compatibilidad para 2007 Office system  (same product in Spanish)
    UninstallString  = MsiExec.exe /X{90120000-0020-0C0A-0000-0000000FF1CE}
    There is a little change in the GUI, may be related to SP3 for Compatibility Pack, which is installed. That UnistallString worked for me.
    In a startup script it must include "/qn" as there is no user interaction. I.e.
    msiexec /qn /x {90120000-0020-0C0A-0000-0000000FF1CE}
    Yes, I do know: this thread is a year old. But may be this post help somebody :-)

  • Please, REAL Nokia Head Office open you eyes with...

    SAWASDEE (hello) , from Bkk, Thailand
    This is my experience from Nokia X3-02 and after that from their service ....
    For Nokia X3-02 in bkk, thailand is around 195 us$.
    This is some inconvenience I found at the first time till NOW .....
    Just after I bought X3-02 on 15th February......
    I just picked 2 calls for 30mins each, and on facebook just for a few times during work in evening then battery is empty and again on next day even it was charged 6-8hrs/time.
    Then I went to power buy (a big electric dealer) and asked for a new battery on 18th February, but still had a same problem. Finally I had to change a new X3-02 on 22nd February.
    That happend in 6days after bought it. ***BUT ITS NOT OVER...!!!! Still got battery problem and more***
    I went to Nokia Care on 28th February, and found X3-02 couldnt on wifi even I was in Nokia Care, I showed them and we found the touch screen didnt work too. Couldnt push any bottom.
    Had to switch off only !!!!
    I had to go to Nokia Care in another department store for a few times, and then back to the place that I bought X3-02 for a few times toooo. Do you know what is trouble traffic in BKK and how is far between 2 department stores?  Really wasted my time and took some energy with not good feelings ....!!!
    How much does the COST that I paid for a new mobile, not only MONEY  ...???
    I like to stay on Nokia and always recommend to my friends. After these
                                                                  .... I am not sure ...
    I REALLY GIVE UP WITH NOKIA X3-02 ..... I SENT IT BACK TO NOKIA CARE AND REQUEST FOR ANOTHER MODEL INSTEAD.
    I got a few calls from Nokia Head Office Thailand.
    On 4 th March, they called me and we found an agreement for us that I will get Nokia E5. In eveing on the same day he said " I will got E63 instead BECAUSE E5 is quite new model and we still dont get more feedback from customer ... on Wednesday.
    The recently call is that mobile will ready for me at 4pm. on Friday 11th, March.
    Why they needed more one week to sent a new one to me ?
    Where is the head office of Nokia Thailand...??? Is it in Bkk...??? Or in Finland ...?????
    I bought X3-02 on 15 FEBRUARY 2011 !!!!
    And my new smart phone is at Nokia Care since 28 FEBRUARY...
    What do you think ...with those things that happened to me ?
     I am so DISAPPOINTED ....with their product and service.
    Just would like to let you know......
    i got E63 with 2 million pixel ONLY and with less function than  X3-02 with 5 million pixel camera and more function...
         ******* Is it FAIR to give me E63 instead of X3-02 ......???? ******
    I said I want good quality camera and many options even it is old version .... But I got only 2 mpixels + no edit photo with basic smart phone ....
                     ...... Sorry for these, but I really  can not ACCEPT ....
    Nokia Thailand always said "we would be happy to help you" ......
    But only words that I got ...and make me UNHAPPY to have E63 till now.
    And now here is my question: what would you do in my case ? Or what can Nokia do to make a customer as me to be happy again ?
    regards
    your customer

    For the record, I don't think I am able to upgrade to the current software version.
    My phone model is 05411312 (N73 on UK T-Mobile), and NSU won't let me update beyond v. 3.0704.1.0.1
    I really want to be able to upgrade, I'm quite annoyed that I can't add all of the amazing new features that Nokia announced for S60 phones a month ago because of this - I want to try the official MSN client, Music Store, etc. I wouldn't have bothered trying to upgrade the software if it wasn't for trying to add these features.

  • Nokia Car Kit compatibility

    I have just updated from a 6610i to a 6230i and was told by my service provider that the new phone was comatible with my 12 month old car kit.
    When I received the new phone I had the error message "enhancement not supported" when I phoned my service provider I was informed that a CA55 cable would do the trick. I contacted Nokia before buying the cable and was told this cable would not work, in fact there was not any other phone that would work with the phone kit I have. I feel a bit agreived that the car kit is now rendered useless, having had it for only 12 months.
    Check with the phone provider about compatibility before changing your phone rather than rely on your service providers information.....

    I assumed, but shouldn't have, that because I had the kit fitted at a reputable auto electricians, that because the phone holster was a Nokia that the rest of the kit would also be Nokia. When I removed the main box of the kit I found that it was not a Nokia part. I have now got a proper Nokia kit and this works fine, although not bluetooth I got it at a good price, so it should be good for 12 months till my next upgrade. Next time I'll not assume!!!!

  • Nokia CK-15W Compatibility

    I'm looking at purchasing a new car kit. In the past I used a nokia car kit (wired type) which worked fantastically well, I then used a Sony ericsson one which was not so good.
    I'm looking at the CK-15W but am unsure whether this would be compatible my Orange SPV M3100. This runs Windows Mobile 5.0
    If anyone can offer advice as to the compatibility of these two devices and the advantages of this particular car kit I would be very grateful.
    Many thanks
    Neil

    This should work ok but you may get a bit of echo, i would also look at parrot kits and THB Bury.

  • Star Office compatibility and upgrade

    Hi. I am changing computer and want to install StarOffice on it. The problems I see are: 1) Is the latest version compatible with the latest version of XP-Pro? and 2) My current version (on cd) is StarOffice 5.2. So....is it compatible and how do I upgrade to the latest version of StarOffice? Thanks.

    Go try it.
    Then you can return to the forum and teach the rest of us, per your experience.
    I'm sure Star Office 5.2 will function just fine on any `flavor` of WinXP.
    My Star Office CD label says:
    "Compatible with Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, Solaris 7 and 8 for SPARC and Intel; Linux; and Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT."
    If you have any doubts, set a restore point in WinXP.
    Install Star Office and you'd be able to revert to that OS restore point if you have any issues.
    Keep in mind that Star Office 5.2 is a nine-year-old product.
    There have likely been a number of improvements during the intervening years. That's why there are newer versions of it.
    You won't get any technical support on that discontinued version.
    If I had to choose?
    I'd toss that CD and just install the OpenOffice suite instead.
    It'll have so much more inter-op compatibility with the rest of the Universe's programs, such as Microsoft's applications.

  • Can't find Nokia Presenter software compatable for...

    I have recently purchased this phone and following the instruction guide i am not able to find the correct software to get this feature up and running.
    Every time i try to connect from my 8600 i get a message saying 'Make sure Nokia Wireless Presenter on the PC is ready and try again'
    I have followed a link using software for another nokia phone but the application must not be compatable.
    Help would be much appreciated - thanks in advanced

    Hi unstoppablehove
    Isn't the application on CD in the sales package?
    I presume you looked at the link for the 6233 which is a similar S40 phone: http://europe.nokia.com/A4160373
    It might not be the end of your problems as Wireless Presenter application is a little tricky to set up as you must know the COM port used by the Bluetooth adapter.

  • Nokia 1020 Office 365 contact sync

    Hi all
    New to office 365, i have a big difficulty syncing my contacts on all the phones i use :
    Iphone 4 (Personnal Phone) - ios7
    HTC One (Personal Phone) - Android 4
    Nokia Lumia 1020 (Job Phone) - WP8
    Indeed, sync contacts all appear as : No Name and contain a unique email adress..
    Contact list is of about 200 contacts, with phone numbers, and several contact details, that  i need to have to cope incoming call identification on WP8 on nokia lumia
    Data can provide from several means in office 365 account :
    GAL
    Outlook Contacts
    Lync Contacts.
    This is getting me angry, as i come from an exchange 2010 on prems environnement where activesync problems of this sort didn't exist...
    Is there a way, to get sync to work correctly from data coming from office365...
    Please, any advice or steps to follow will be tested...
    Thanks by advance
    Tugdual

    Hi,
    Are emails synced perfectly?
    When you set up an Exchange account on your device, you should be able to access and synchronize your email, calendar, and contacts. If the account is set up via POP or IMAP, only emails are synced.
    Here are some steps you can refer to when using a Windows Phone:
    Use Office 365 on your Windows Phone

  • Nokia N8 Flash compatibility with streaming video ...

    Wondering why I can't watch streaming video sites like Justin.tv on my new N8 but can view them just fine on my E71.  When trying to watch a channel on Justin.tv, It states I must upgrade my flash player.  How can my brand new phone's flash not be compatible yet my 2 year old E71's flash works just fine.  By the way, I was using Skyfire on my E71 to view these sites and although you can download Skyfire for the N8, you can't access anything because it's not set up to work with a virtual keyboard...  I figured the N8 would be ready for any website out-of-the-box.  Talk about disappointed.

    Hi, I've been testing couple of devices with the flash movie site Veoh. I've tested N95, N97, N900, Iphone 4,  and  7230 and one more older model of Nokia.  Only N900 and Iphone 4 worked well with flash videos on Veoh.com. No doubt, IPhone 4  gave the best experience with Veoh. It is the only recommend phone to use with that site.
    All other Nokia phones expect N900 could not show the flash movies on Veoh.com. All Nokia phones were tested with original default web browser of  Nokia in out of the box condition. Now I'm figuring out how C5-00 Symbian 60 third Generation phone works with veoh.com. More on that at C-series section here. So far I can only recommend Iphone 4 for fun with movies. No secret any more what is behind the  Apple Inc.huge success.. Just like their computers their phone is excellent.
    I will test C5-00 with the above mentioned skyfire web browser cause  it has the same OS as E71:
    C5-00
            * S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2
            * Symbian OS version 9.3
            * Voice commands
            * Active Idle
            * FOTA (Firmware update Over The Air)
            * Size: 2.2"
            * Resolution: 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA)
            * Up to 16.7 million colours (TFT)
    E71:
        * S60 3.1 Edition, Eseries
        * Symbian Os 9.2
        *  Size: 2.36"
        * Resolution: 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA)
        * Up to 16 million colour
        * TFT active matrix (QVGA)

    easy task: Skyfire can't be installed on C5-00 for an unkown reason:

  • Microsoft ACE & Office compatibility issue

    Here is our situation:
    We have a 32 bit VC++ application that operated both with:
    - Access to store data via ADO
    - Excel for result output via OLE Embedded and OLE Automation
    Our application is in the market of imaging.
    Because of the interest of our users to work with more & bigger images, we can't stay with a 32 bit application.
    We started the migration to x64 but we have a problem:
    1. Data access requires Microsoft ACE OLEDB provider x64
    2. Most of our users run Excel 32 bits (Microsoft continue to recommend the use of Office 32 bits).
    The problem is that the Microsoft ACE OLEDB provider x64 is not compatible with Office 32 bits.
    Can you please confirm?
    Is there a way to workaround, for example by using another x64 OLEDB provider that would not have any issue running on the same machine as Office 32 bits?
    Or maybe this is a case where Microsoft would tell us to use the x64 version of Office.

    Hi EddyDelpierre,
    >>The problem is that the Microsoft ACE OLEDB provider x64 is not compatible with Office 32 bits. Can you please confirm?
    Yes, the 64-bit Microsoft ACE driver cannot co-exist with 32-bit versions of Microsoft Office, you must use 64-bit Microsoft Office.

  • Nokia c7 charger compatability

    i am using nokia c7 and the battery given is bl-5k and the charger is ac-15, plug type e,x,ar,u,a,c,k or b (refered in user manual). my doubt is can i use ac-50 chager or the upcoming ac-60 universal fast usb charger for my mobile, i usually charge my mobile in my laptop using the data cable provided for me. it is right or wrong? weather my handset support these chargers or not? what will happen when i charge with this chargers?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi bee1,
    Thank you for posting and welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
    Regarding with your concern, we are recommending customers to always use an accessory that would be compatible for their mobile phones. This is for us to keep the phone safe from being damaged when using incompatible products. Please see below for the list of compatible chargers for your phone.
    • AC-10
    • AC-15
    • AC-6
    • DC-10
    • DC-11
    • DC-6
    • DT-600
    When it comes to your next question, your phone supports USB charging. There must be no wrong charging it using your laptop as long as you are using the cable that came with the sales package. The phone's battery may also be damaged when using products that is not intended for Nokia devices.
    Please let us know if this information helped you. Thanks!

  • Mavericks and Microsoft Office compatibility?

    I had Microsoft Office 2011 on my Imac and everything worked fine until I downloaded Mavericks a couple of days ago. Since then I cannot activate Office programs and it keeps asking the product key. To make things worse, it doesn't recognize my product key!
    Is that a known problem? Is there a solution?
    Thanks

    Yes there is a solution.
    Get in touch with Microsoft.
    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support
    Do not let them talk you into paying a fee for phone support, and of course do not buy another product key.
    Or you could try their forum for Mac products: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/15627

  • Microsoft Office compatability

    I finally broke down and bought IWork09 because I read it was compatible with WINTEL Office. (Previously, had always run Office for Mac at home as must be compatible with WINTELs at work.) So, first test, I spend hours writing a doc on IWork, save to memory stick, bring to office's Word, no way to open it. Tried all the options.
    Mac has always been able to read/write to a doc created in Word, but apparently Word still won't recognize Mac docs?? Makes IWork less useful, even if it is a nice program.

    Yes, it can be changed. However, I'm not comfortable in using the word "easily" as it involves editing a file Apple never intended the users to touch.
    A few days ago, I finally updated my blog with a link to the instructions at Lee Findlow's page. To save people a click, I also tried to describe it on my own blog, but it was very difficult to phrase it in a simple way.
