Non-windows tcp/ip

Hi,
I have a PXI 8184RT with LabView Real time 8.0. Also a have an instrument called Insensys that sense fiber optics strain sensors and send me an array of double values by TCP/IP. I have developed a software that works properly when I run it in a windows XP PC with LabView but when I download it to the PXI it works properly for some seconds and then the TCP/IP connection hangs. First I thought it was a RAM problem (128 M) but before installing the real time OS I used the PXI with windows XP and I didn’t have any problem getting the data from the Ethernet TCP/IP.
Does the TCP/IP functions need a windows PC somewhere to manage the communication?
thanks,
Juli

hola Juli:
http://ae.natinst.com/operations/ae/public.nsf/web/searchinternal/EEBB8194446EFC3386257186005314CD?O...

  • When I call VI on Linux from Teststand on Windows using TCP/IP I get "file not found error".any sugeestions?

I am trying to execute a VI running on Linux from Teststand running on windows 2000 prof ,both running on two different machines.I used TCP/IP for the interface using the following steps on Labview VI:tools>options>VIserver>TCP/IP and gave the ip address of both the machines. When I gave the file path as c:\home\test.vi in Edit labview Vi call window(the Vi in linux is stored in /home/test.vi)and also in remote vi path:/home/test.vi,I get a file not found error. The teststand version is 3.0 and labview is 7.0.Any idea why this is happening and any solutions?

    priya guru,
Here is a knowledge base that addresses your question: How do I call test VIs that reside on a non-Windows platform from TestStand?
You also need to set TCP/IP Access found in Tools->Options->'VI Server: TCP/IP Access'. Make sure that you list the IP address in the Access List to allow TCP/IP access to that machine. Finally you need to specify which VIs are accessible to remote applications. Open up Tools->Options->'VI Server: Exported VIs' and provide paths to the VIs you wish to be remotely accessible.
I have attached an example VI that demonstrates VI Server in action. Please post back if you are still having problems. Good luck!

  • Cross-Certification for Non-Windows Clients

Still trying to get more information on getting my SHA256 root CA certificate signed by my SHA1 root CA (temporarily), and having non-Windows entities recognize that:
Creating Cross-Certification between two root CA's within the same organization (one hierarchy is all SHA1 and the other is all SHA256) and distributing the CrossCA certificate is painless enough for Forest members because it gets published to
AD and from their comes down to the Forest member certificates store (Trusted Intermediary).  But what is the best way to get non-Windows end entities to also recognize the CrossCA certificate?  The RFC (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5280#section-4.2.2.1)
states you can configure the AIA extension to point to a collection of certificates, but then that means (unless I am missing something) I need to modify the AIA extensions configuration on my SHA256 root CA to point to the PKCS7 container on my http location,
then issue my SHA256 SubCA certificates to my subordinate CA's.  So this way when my SHA256 subordinate CA's issue end entity certificates to non-Windows entities the chain of trust will go back to my SHA1 root CA.
    Both hierarchies are 2-tier.
End Entity cert from SHA256 Subordinate CA --> http location specifying the location of the SHA256 SubCA .crt --> http location specifying the location of the exported Cross-Certification certificate in PKCS7 format (which contains the
SHA256 root CA certificate and the SHA1 root CA certificate).
Does this seem like the correct configuration?  If so, how easy will it be to remove this configuration when the cutover is complete?  If this is all correct then I assume the only way to remove this configuration is to modify the AIA extension
of the SHA256 root CA and then issue new SubCA certificates to my SHA256 subordinates.

    Elke,
Thank you for the information.  I defintely have some other options to consider now.
One odd thing I noticed in my lab is my setup appears to work differently than you described.  In my lab I have a crossCA certificate which was published automatically into AD when it was issued.  Since that has happened even when issuing
new certificates to end entities that are aware of the new SHA256 CA's (and Trust them), all certificates still chain back to my SHA1 root CA.  They don't take the short route anymore.
And because of the above behavior I ran a quick test:
    - I installed a Windows 7 machine and never joined it to AD (kept it in a workgroup)
    - I manually imported the SHA1 root CA certificate into its certificates store
    - Then I accessed a web site running on a Windows web server which had an SSL certificate from one of the new SHA256 Subordinate CA's (and was part of the domain so it trusted the new SHA256 CA's).
The result was the Windows 7 machine trusted the certificate just fine.
When I looked at the certificate through IE on that Windows 7 machine, it showed the SSL certificate chaining back to my SHA1 root CA which I manually imported earlier, so it was trusted.
Perhaps this is where setting constraints in the policy.inf file come into play...not 100% sure.
Anyway, for the reasons you pointed out to me and the fact that anchoring my SHA256 environment with a SHA1 CA isn't really recommended, I am going to explore some other ways to get this done.
    Thank you.

  • Any RunningApplications-like function for non-windowed processes?

Am I missing any RunningApplications-like function for non-windowed processes like Unix executables? To start with I'd settle for processes in user-space but would ultimately like to list processes like Activity Monitor does. Even comparing RunningApplications results to user space Activity Monitor results will show the difference.
As far as I can tell you need to go all the way down to kauth and kernel space to watch for non-windowed processes being launched. Is there somethig in-between I'm missing? A notification device about launching apps would be perfect if it cover all processes.
    Thanks,
    =Tod

I think kqueue may be able to do what you want. Look at the EVFILT_PROC filter. You may have to watch a number of processes - perhaps all of them. But that would tell you any time you get a fork and whenever a process is reaped.
I looked at kqueue at it does what I want but you need to register it on a by process/file basis which is great for a very specific set of things but not for overall system watching. (I also looked at fsevents but it is designed as a post-event notification system.) While NSWorkspace has the usual Cocoa model notifcation willlaunchApp, didlaunchApp, etc it seems that you need to get the kernel to watch the launch lifecycle of non-windowed functions.
I actually did manage to get a comprehensive list of running apps out of parsing sysctl output with much less trouble than I expected. So far I have managed to get the pid, uid and abbreviated processname and the list seems to match the Activity Monitor list - at least at this testing printf stage. Getting the username from uid should be trivial and the full file name is doable it just requires some struct length and offset math. I'd like the launch path information but I can live without it for monitoring purposes if I can't figure out how to get it.
This means that the monitoring part of the running system seems relatively straight forward - wrapping the call in an NSTimer and watching for changes in the returned results. But the watching of the actual starting and stopping of all processes remains some deeper work.
    Thanks for all the suggestions,
    =Tod

  • How to run JDeveloper on non-windows platforms?

I downloaded the base install package from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11tp.html and unzipped the resulting package. It seems to have Windows .exe files in it and not shell scripts or pure Java.
How does one launch JDeveloper from this package on Linux or OS X? Or is there an alternative package somewhere to look for that is intended for use on non-Windows platforms?

    Alansil,
The [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11tp/install.html]install guide has specific instructions for both Linux and OSX.
You may also be aware - the JDev 11g ADF version is going to be released within a week or so (announced at OOW)

  • SCCM 2012 with SCM - support for non-Windows?

    Hello all,
As part of compliance configuration, i came across the Microsoft's Security Compliance Manager 3.0 (latest version) mainly for compliance and remediation. But after going through their docs, I feel SCM is used only on Windows OS (clients or servers).
a] Does SCM support contact with non-Microsoft vendors to import security baselines?
b] Does SCM support audit, compliance and remediation on non-windows OS devices? (clients/servers)
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    thanks

This is the wrong forum to ask Security Compliance Manager based questions, it doesn't have any straight relationship with ConfigMgr. Correct forum is here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=compliancemanagement

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here.
Did you follow the instructions on that page exactly when creating the account (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) ? e.g. if doing it on your phone and you are currently logged into an account then log out of it, find a free app in the app store app, tap on its free price button, tap 'install app', and then tap on 'create new apple id' on the popup that you get. I tried those instructions on my phone a few days ago in response to another thread and I got the 'none' option on the payments screen.

  • Need help fixing video shut off after 2 minutes in non-windows mode

Good morning experts in this forum,  I need your help solving a hardware/firmware problem of my computer. I have a Hpe 250f computer with Radeon 5700 series video card on it.  I recently noticed one strange problem which prevents me from doing any meaningful work in non-windows mode: The video will be shut off after around 2 min if the computer is not in Windows mode.  This includes BIOs mode and recovery mode.  There is no problem if the computer logs on Windows within 2 minutes.  But if I stay in BIOs settings or try to use HP diagnostics or try to recover a backup using windows backups for around 2 min, the monitor will turn blank and the power button of monitor will turn yellow from green indicating no video output to it.  It can not wake up by mouse or keyboard. I read that older BIOs have problem with fan speed and I reflashed the BIOs.   But it did not work. This problem drives me mad since I had occasional hard drive failures recently and I could not recover my system (That is why I noticed the problem recently, but the problem could have existed when I bought the computer).  Now the computer is out of warrenty and I could not find any similar case using Google search.  I really appreaciate your help. Thanks

I had the same problem when I upgraded.  In my case it definitely was the power supply.  In my effort to figure out the problem by swapping components in and out, the dieing power supply killed 2 P8P67 Pro and 2 2500k, and when I tested with the P67A-GD65, the power supply totally died, but the good thing is that the GD65 survived.  Swapped in a 430W to test and everything was perfect.  At full load with GTX260, it will draw less than 300W, so your power supply is fine to test.

  • MSI Twin Frozr GTX 770, "Non-windows Logo Graphics Card" No GOP detected?

    Hi,
I'm wondering what to do, I have just recently built a brand new computer, everything put together correctly, once I load the system to put the operating system on I'm getting this error ""Non-windows 8 Logo Graphics Card, No GOP detected"?
anybody have any idea what I can do to get around this?

Either switch to legacy mode instead of UEFI booting or update vga with a GOP vbios. To find the correct one add the card's S/N and a copy of your current vbios by saving it to file with gpu-z, uploading it to some file hoster and adding the link here.

  • Oracle 11g on Windows XP - TCP with SSL

    Hello,
have successfully set-up Oracle 11g on a Windows XP machine which am using as a small server in a trial/test environment.
As this machine is running in my local environment without external connections the Windows Firewall is DEactivated.
A java test program written to connect to the server using TCP / via a plain text connection using the oracle thin JDBC driver is working fine.
Now wanted to set-up the server so it would accept SSL connections (ultimately with peer Authentication, but without server or client authentication as a start configuration).

    Hi,
would now need to trace and understand why the handshake is failing.
As you can see from the above posted config files and the trace_level settings tracing should already be turned on on my system - correct? So where would I find the output messages telling me in more detail why the handshake is failing?

  • GT70 0NC - Unable to flash non-Windows 8 BIOS

    Hello,
I recently purchased a GT70 0NC notebook and have been unsuccessful at updating the BIOS. The notebook came pre-installed with Windows 8, but I reformatted with Windows 7 x64.
I was able to flash in the EC from the factory 1762EMS1 v5.03 to 1762EMS1.414 using the USB flashing tool detailed in the EC flashing instructions from the MSI download site, but since the "normal" MSI BIOS update procedure will not work with Windows 7 64bit, I've been trying to use the "MSI Forum HQ USB flashing tool". I'm able to successfully prepare my USB flash drive with the updater and boot into it without a problem. After executing the update procedure, it says that it updated the BIOS successfully, but the BIOS version (E1762IMS.50R) remains unchanged after pulling power and booting into the BIOS setup (I'm trying to flash in E1762IMS.10R). I checked to see if "Boot Sector Protection" was enabled, but I can't find it anywhere in the GT70 factory BIOS. Since that didn't work, I installed a bootable DOS utility (the same one used to update the EC), extracted the BIOS archive in the root of the flash drive and tried executing "flash.bat", but it said something to the effect "error problem getting flash information". I'm lost at this point and would appreciate any help on this matter.
    Thanks!

Oh! I guess I'm confused with the language on the download site when it says win8 vs non-win8 for OS selection. Just so I'm clear for future reference, if a newer BIOS revision becomes available for this notebook, even while running Windows 7, I should upgrade (if absolutely necessary) to the win8 version available on the MSI download site? Is this even possible while running Windows 7? It's just weird to me that they're designating a hardware revision based on pre-installed OS when some users will ultimately downgrade to Windows 7 and not understand this.
My next question, since the Windows 7 1762EMS1.414 EC flash fixed my non-functioning hot keys, should I re-flash to the Windows 8 EC (currently 1762EMS1504) and will this break hot key functionality again? At this point, I'm concerned about the E1762IMS.50R BIOS not playing nice with the 1762EMS1.414 EC.
    Thanks!
You just got your answer, just install the right BIOS + EC (for your OS) and your problems are solved. If you want to install windows 7 on your laptop, make sure you install BIOS and EC for non-win8 from msi download section (for your laptop model), and check before if you have RAID or non-RAID/with Backlight Keyboard or non-Backlight Keyboard (because you will find also these options in the download section)

  • Solution for 0x80070035 Error When Connecting to Non-Windows Shares

    My situation:
Using Windows 7 64-bit OS I needed to connect to two Haas mills.  Both Haas machines have internal hard drives that have been shared and made available to the network.  Using Windows XP we were able to map drives or create shortcuts that pointed
to these shares.  When we tried connecting to the shares with Windows 7 we received the error "Windows cannot access \\servername\sharename." Looking at the details of the error I found the error number 0x80070035.
The solution was found in another forum:
"On your “file server,” what is the underlying OS?  If it is a Linux based OS that uses Samba or CIFS to share out to Windows clients, you may need to adjust your NTLM authentication properties.
At the Start menu search dialog box, type secpol.msc.  Navigate to Local Policies >> Security Options.
Go down to Network security: LAN Manager authentication level and first read the Explain tab.
Then go ahead and change the authentication level to Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.
If this fails to work, make sure you set your authentication properties back to the default level."
Once I made the registry change, the shared areas were accessible.

    Hi,
This could be an issue if the security software is interfering with the connection.
You may temporarily try to disable the security software and check what happens.
Also change the Windows Firewall settings and check if that is causing the issue.
The error code 0x80070035 indicates that the network path is not found.
This behavior occurs if the NetBIOS over TCP IP is not enabled in Windows Vista. Please follow the steps below.
1.Click "Start", input "NCPA.CPL" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
2.Right click on the connection that you use for the local connection, and then click "Properties".
3.Click Continue button to verify the administrator permission.
4.Click to select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", and then click "Properties".
5.Click "Advanced" button in the open window.
On the "WINS" tab, click to select "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP", and then click "OK" to save the setting.
    Thanks.

  • Using TMG to prevent non windows domain users from accessing internet

    Hello!
I'm using Windows server 2008 and use it to run my company's Domain and I have a copy of TMG Server 2010
My question is if I installed the TMG on the my Domain server can I use it to prevent internet access for Non-Domain computers, and how it is done, I've looked around the internet but I couldn't find a way to do it so I thought I should ask here...
Basically can TMG stop non-domain computers from accessing the internet ?
    thank you!

    Hi,
configure all clients to Webproxy clients and create Firewall policy rules which allows HTTP and HTTPS only for windows users and groups from your Active Directory
