None of my buttons work; did the 5 R's

I have a 4th generation Nano.  The buttons quit working.  It's charged fully, I've reset it to factory settings, I've reset it by the 6-second pressing of the menu and center buttons, my iMac and iTunes recognizes it, and the lock button when toggled causes the screen to light up.  However, no buttons nor the wheel work. Any ideas?

If you have reset and restored your iPod nano, it might be a hardware problem at this point.  You can check out the repair prices here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipod

Why doesn't the "back" button work all the time in Safari?

thanks for the reply. You prompted me to check and I realised it wasn't installed on my test laptop and opening in Microsoft Reader. I've installed it now and it works.
My next challenge is to prevent the mailto: command opening Microsoft Mail instead of Outlook, but I guess every user will have a different default.
    Thank you

AppleCare is relevant in case the OP isn't near any Apple Retail Store and he/she has to contact with Apple by phone. The iPhone only comes with 90 days of free telephone support, and without AppleCare, he/she would have to pay
Well, yes and no. If you call to arrange a repair there is no charge for the call. For tech support other than a repair there is.

  • Only the top row of buttons works on the aluminun wireless keyboard

After returning my first wireless keyboard for not pairing with my iMac (which has all the right tech specs) I exchanged it for a new one. Initially, I was able to type letters and numbers only and many of the keys were not doing the task they were supposed to--the F12 keys ejected CDs and the eject button did nothing. I went to the Apple icon and downloaded all of the new updates that showed up, restarted my computer and then suddenly, the eject button worked! But, when I tried to type letters and numbers, nothing happened. My computer recognizes it and the top row of buttons works just fine.

the same has happend to me, it's a new wireless keyboard, and from the moment i paired them only the to row (f1,f2....eject) buttons are working.
    what am i to do

  • Why are only my sleep and home buttons working but the screen doesnt recognise my touch

So last night everything on my ipod touch 2nd gen was working fine. then when i woke up, only the sleep and home button worked. My screen isnt picking up any sort of touch at all. when i press the on button, it wont let me slide to unlock. when i press the on and home button at the same time to turn it off, it will not let me slide to power off. HELP!!! It is passed the original 90 day warranty (very old no damage though) and i need an answer ASAP

have you tried charging the device ?
if so and it still does not work you can try a Forced Recovery..
by holding the HOME button down and plugging it into your computer at the same time..

  • What non-Apple keyboards will work with the iMac?

We just got an iMac and it came with a wired mouse and a wired keyboard that we want to replace. What wireless keyboards will work that are NOT the Apple brand? Thank you.

You can use any USB wired keyboard with a Mac.
There are Windows keyboards (which will work, but have
odd 'other' key-faces.) And there are several third-party Mac
compatible keyboards with proper keys laid out for Macs.
Any reputable dealer often has these; and online, even more.
Doesn't the Apple Store page show a few non-Apple k/bds?
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • All the buttons of my Ipod (including the Home button) work, though the advance button does not, it is stuck or something.. What can I do?

It is clean, it has not been close to water or something similar, it just stop working =/

My problem is fixed now, thank you. It was caused by my changing the Boot Camp partition's 'RAID1' to 'RAID0'. If I hadn't done that, Boot Camp would still have been able to 'restore' back to the one partition. It was fixed with the help of Applecare by using a terminal and typing a command to erase the IP of the Macintosh disk (not the volume) as well as the IP of the Bootcamp partition (if I remember correctly), but then I had to restore the OS and all my applications and data etc which I had previously backed up using Time Machine. I haven't taken note of the exact command terminology used. It would be wise to speak to Applecare about this if possible.
Two words of warning, 1. According to the cause of this problem, it might be wise, after reinstalling the ops system to reinstall all extra applications one by one, manually, in case a similar problem arises again. Then manually copy back all data. Or the Mac user could use the Time Machine backup and then uninstall all the added apps then re-install them one by one manually. 2. Beware as after all this the user might not have the 'Recovery partition'. There is a small recovery partition (a few 100 Mb is size) which comes with all later Macs. After all this is done this tiny partition might not be there anymore and the user might have to re-install Mavericks again to get it back, or just install the upcoming update of Mavericks due in a month or so.

  • TS2634 New IOS is knocking out non iphone devices that worked before the update

IOS updated and having issues with non compatible devices that were compatible before update

    Hi,
Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

  • P button working as the volume button??

    Hi
I bought my mac book air three months ago, and in the last two days every time I press the 'P' button on the keyboard, it either birngs up the 'mute' volumesign or the volume at 'max' sign.
As you can guess very annoying. Has anyone any ideas what could have happened and how to fix this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the control panel where you will find AirPlay settings.

  • Why isn't the 'Next' button working in the online form?

Our applicants complete all the questions that are compulsory and there are no pop ups that say anything is wrong - they just can't get to the second page.
Any help would be much appreciated as these are people booking on training courses - we'll lose business if we can't sort it out. Thank you!

That’s great, thank you, much appreciated!

    Hello, pravin729.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPod touch will not turn on.  I would start with going through the troubleshooting steps in the article below.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on

  • I Have a HP Pavilion DV7 1285DX laptop I can not get the speaker cover buttons working.

I had to disassemble the laptop and now I can not get the buttons on the speaker cover working. The power button works and the buttons for the CD but the volume mute button and the wireless button will not work

Odds are you did not connect everything back up properly. Do you have the Service Manual? I have disassembled a dv7 and it has ribbon cables going all over the place. Very confusing.
