# not accepted in permitted characters

Hello Guys,
I am fetching data from CRM wherein an anonymous user enters certain free text. While entering data, if he presses "enter" key then it is getting converted into #. Whereas I have maintained # in RSKC, still the error occurs while activating the data store object. Can anyone suggest me the solution for this problem? This is a recurring problem due to which I edit the record in PSA and then reload & reactivate it.
Thanks,
Utpal

Thanks a lot for the help, etresoft. I just finished this project and I am going to explain how I did it, for the others that might need this information.
To be true, one doesn't need to escape the characters, unless it's impossible to send 8-bit-encoded text to the printer. At this day and age, this should not be a problem on any platform. Zebra printers accept CP850 and CP1250. I chose to use CP850, also known as "DOS Latin 1".
My ZPL code is stored in a NSString. I create a temporary file from this NSString and then use PMPrinterPrintWithFile to send it to the printer as a raw print job.
To create the file, one can simply use +NSString writeToFile:atomically:encoding:error:+ and pass CFStringConvertEncodingToNSStringEncoding(kCFStringEncodingDOSLatin1) as the encoding.
    It just works, beautifully.

  • SQL Developer not accepting certain characters from the keyboard

    Hello,
I have been using SQL Developer for 5 or 6 months now, with minor issues and great satisfaction.
A few days ago, just out of the blue, in the middle of the day, SQL developer started not accepting the following characters:
Ctrlv, Ctrl + c, F5, F9 (I Think all function keys), BackSpace, Delete, Enter and arrow keys.+*
T*his is only happening in the text editor part*. I am able to use this keys in the results, whether they were a script output or an execute query output.
SQL developer also functions properly (if i paste using the mouse, paste works.. and all the other keys)
I checked the pc for viruses, using AVG, no viruses were found (my avg is updated daily and runs daily virus checks on a schedule, and this issue has been here for the past 1 or 2 weeks, so it was a virus, i think it should have been discoverd, besides, the keys are still working in sql developer, only not in the text editor part)
Needless to say, but if i run notepad and type, keys work properly.
I also reinstalled it in another folder with no luck
Tried so many restarts .. no luck
Tried it in safe mode .. no luck
I am using SQL developer Version 1.5.4, Build MAIN-5940.. on Windows Xp
I am suspecting there's some option in it that I disabled without paying attention..

All that time trying possible solutions is understandable, but then typing them in your post... when searching the forum would have given you the solution under 1 minute:

    Hope that helps,

  • In Query mode, date items does not accepts more than 10 characters..Why?

    Dear All,
In my form, While querying my date items, it does not accepts more than 10 Characters. Could it be changeable.
Actually i want to search like greater than specified date( >01/01/2007 ).
But i can specify like >01/01/07. After tabbing out from that item, it displays like >01/01/200.
    How to overcome this issue.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Balaji

    You are absoletely correct Francois!
Previously i have made a mistake that both of my maximum length and query length property to 20. That time it was not worked. Now i changed my maximum length to the old one like 11 and i changed only the query length to 20.
Now it is working. I understood the concept wrongly.
    Thanks Francois!

  • HP Officejet 6500, Windows XP and 7, wireless LAN security code is not accepted

The security code of my wireless LAN is not accepted by the HP6500A. According to the diagnostic software of HP a code consisting of more than 50 characters is required (the total number of characters can not be identified because the code isgoing on out of the window). The security code of the route consists of 12 characters. Resetting the printer is not solving the problem.
This problem was identified after rinstalling the software after problems with printing: connection with the printer was identified; message: "busy with printing", but no printing result at all.

Security codes can be in ASCII or HEX.  I'm guessing that the diagnostics is reporting HEX and the printer entry is in ASCII.
You can try running the diagnostics SW on the Windows 7 computer.  It might return the key in ASCII.
A good option is to get the password from somewhere other than the diagnostics.  Maybe you stored it somewhere or wrote it down?  Once you get it try to enter from the front panel.
Can I get a little information from you?
    What router brand model?
What security mode are you using (WEP, WPA, WPA2)?
Which model of the 6500 do you have (6500 or 6500a)?

  • RMAN settings in OEM not accepting changed password

    Database 10.2.0.3.0, 32 and 64 bit versions.
OSes: Windows 2003 R2 Standard Edition
The previous DBA had the same password for the sys, system, and rman accounts. The RMAN backups are scheduled through the OEM's Backup/Recovery Schedule Backup. I finally changed the passwords so that sys, system, and rman are now different. I changed the rman password to be the same as in the Oracle rman account in the Windows local user accounts and made sure that the rman account is in the ora_dba account and that batch jobs are permitted. Note that these scheduled jobs were working just fine so I suspect the windows accounts are correctly configured. The rman account I'm using is the rman account used in a repository. This is the only Oracle rman account among all the databases that I backup.
I attempted to schedule a job to run immediately using the new password in the Host Credentials and I check the box for 'Save as Preferred Credential' but at the end of the run I get the error: RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I'm logged into the OEM with the same exact system account log in as I would use from the rman command line target connection.
The Recovery Catalog Settings will not accept this new password. Instead I get the error message:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
After so many attempts the error message will say the account is locked and it is locked in the repository so it appears to be attempting validation against the correct location.
I prefer using the OEM over the Windows Task Scheduler - any ideas on what to do?
Edited by: pointreyes on Feb 4, 2010 8:30 AM - Discovered that a scheduled job ran immediately will fail to work as well.
Edited by: pointreyes on Feb 4, 2010 8:39 AM - note that I did not change all the passwords at the same time. The sys and system passwords were changed last week and the backups continued to work. Only after the RMAN password was changed did the backups fail.

The sys and system passwords were changed last week and the backups continued to work. Only after the RMAN password was changed did the backups fail. This is exactly why I don't schedule my rman backups in OEM. I never was able to figure out what was going on under the covers, but if I have to recreate something every time I change the password, then I'm looking for a different approach. Since I work in Unix, create shell scripts to execute my rman backups, and schedule them with cron. If on windows, I'd take the same approach .. the one you prefer not to use. OEM is a great tool, but it's not the perfect solution for every problem.Actually this is not really an OEM problem. I discovered this when I changed the rman catalog schema owner password and then attempted to backup the system through a remote job on another server. I am surprised if you changed your rman catalog schema owner that you have not ran into this yourself. Unless you are doing backups from a centralzied server that the rman catalog resides on.
You come across all kinds of interesting things no matter which tool us use. For example we are to log onto the system using our personal accounts and then sudo to Oracle....guess what happened when the Oracle users password expired...
Now that was a fun day....other DBA..."Backups are not working.."....Me..."Yes they are just fine when I execute them.".....other DBA.."Well cron jobs do not work."....Me..."Anyone log in recently with Oracle user??"
Problem was that the Oracle user password had expired and was needing to be changed.....cronjobs don't like it when that happens.

  • Non permitted characters-data loading

In our system, we have a data issue where many records present in the entry level tables (Extraction Layer) have non-permitted characters in text fields.
we introduced a routine to filter these - but already existing ones will bring problems during the init.
for this we need a very tricky abap.
we have a FM to replace wrong characters.
So now I want to loop a whole databasetable and use the FM against a certain table field
We did something like that  with abap already. But the biggest issue is that the tables consist of several million records - so we run into memory problems.
can you please provide a suggestion on how to handle this?
    Your help will be appriciated

    hi  USER1249,
what about to use standard BW functionality - permitted characters - TA RSKC.
Via this you can maintain a set of permitted characters which will not be rejected by BW while loading.

  • File URLs -  do not accept spaces in folder/direcotry name?

Version of US used is: 1.0.3
I tried to create a file data source with the following file URL from the Administration Application under the Sources/File tab:
    file://localhost/c:/myDir/New Folder/
But I got the following error:
    Oracle Ultra Search Error
    Invalid file protocol URL:Folder/
URL does not begin with file://
Note: It is not a problem if the folder name does not have a space. E.g. when I renamed "New Folder" to "New_Folder", it was fine.
My questions: Is that correct that US does not accept file URLs with spaces in the folder/directory names? If so, is it the same with the newer release US 9.0.2?
    Thanks.

Currently space is used as a delimiter in file seed URL.
Therefore, user can not crawl files located in directory containing space. This is the case for 9.2, 1.0.3, 9.0.2. You raise a good point, I will evaluate the possibility to remove this restriction in our next release (iAS 9.0.4). If we decide to support this, I will update this question.
    Thanks ! ^_^

  • Seller not accepting Paypal

One last question before I hang up my Ebay hat permanently...I bought an item from a seller, until I attempted to pay there was NO indication this seller does not accept Paypal.  I was advised that I had to call him, after the sale, to give him my credit card information over the phone.  I did look and apparently it is OK to take credit card payments but it specifies that payment must be made through an ONLINE, SECURE PAYMENT PROGRAM network.  I wlll NOT just call up someone I have never done business with and hand over my credit card information.  I guess since I will not be using Ebay , due primarily to the GSP and all its glory, any longer that I COULD just forget about this, but that is not the way I have done business in the past and would like to no what is or is not appropriate.   Your comments would be appreciated.

    ca_cunn wrote:
No it is the cumulative effects of Ebay continually making life more and more difficult as a buyer and a seller.  Why would I want to try to sell items here when the first thing that happens is I get hit with a twenty one day hold on my money.  then they change the rules and make me fully responsible for a change of heart by a buyer and expect me to pay shipping both ways to a seller and back when he simply changed his mind? As a buyer I am now faced with not being able to even tell how much it will really cost me to get an item here with the recent changes to the listings in the US GSP program.  I can't even tell who is using the program and don't get to find out how much my purchase is going to cost to ship until AFTER I am committed to buy it.  The GSP has been decried by Canadian buyers since its inception, yourself included.  Ebays solution, hide the GSP and don't tell anyone until they are committed to make the purchase.  I recently made an effort to go on Ebay.com to try to get sellers to opt out of the GSP.  Every effort was  met by being kicked back to EBay.ca.  I appreciate that it is indeed their site, however since it is my money that is being spent, I do feel they have some perhaps very minor obligations to us.  My general perception, since the invention of the GSP is that Ebay feels Canada while probably marginally profitable is not marginally profitable enough and that they want us to leave so they can shut it down entirely.  So I am going to grant them their wish and find other sources of making my on line purchases. My original question was however, is it permitted for a seller on Ebay to send me a message and say  'don't take Paypal, call me and I'll take you credit card numbers and make the payment for you?'  I read the rules and it seems to me they are required to accept credit card payment only in a secure online payment site not ask me to give them my numbers and card info. That makes me very vulnerable to all manner of problems.  That is my concern, not leaving this nest of vipersIt's not my intention to get into an argument with you here, but to set your mind at ease. There are a few misconceptions that I can see are borne of frustration.  The 21-day hold is annoying as a seller, I agree. Some of those funds are 'supposed' to be immediately released so that you can cover postage but, for me, that never happened even if I printed my labels with paypal shipping. They HAVE to hold that money as insurance that you are, in fact, an honest (new) seller and/or someone whose account has not been hacked. The three-week wait is given so that the buyer has a reasonable opportunity to receive the item and verify it is, in fact, what it is supposed to be. You might be surprised (or alarmed) to learn how many people open accounts only to buy two things for one cent each so that they're not brand new and then start selling as much as they can get away with within their selling restrictions. We're talking big ticket items too. Items that don't actually exist. It takes about two weeks for the victim to learn it was fraud, and a few more days to contact ebay. It has to be that way, it just does. Although, I do sympathize very strongly with you there.  You aren't obligated to pay return postage if your buyer merely changes his mind, only if the item is Not As Described or Busted in Transport. If it's case of buyer's remorse, they pay to return it to you, the same as I would have to get my own butt in my car and take back a pair of shoes to Sears if they were too tight. I will concede, however, that there are buyers who have figured out the way to have the seller obligated to fund return shipping is to open a Return for the wrong reason. If you suspect that is the case, report them and call ebay. Sometimes they can help, sometimes they can't but you have to persist.  The Global Shipping Program? Just ignore it. I do. As soon as I see the 'International Tracking and Customs whatever' in the subtitle of a search, I pretend that listing is invisible. I don't need that kind of aggravation in my life. But you need to be on ebay.ca to see where it is in place. ebay.com won't tell you.  And, no, do NOT call the dude with your credit card. Like no no no not ever. Does the listing say 'paypal accepted'? Every listing that I have ever seen on ebay.com says something like this..... Payments:Credit Cards processed by PayPal

when starting up after a erase/reinstall of Mac OS X 10.6 it will not accept any of my passwords/names, I had just entered my info and clicked on "continue", the cube began to turn and froze, a translucent screen came over the whole window and request that I restart the computer, after doing so, I got the start up sound and a message saying that OS X was starting up and then the sign in window, but when I entered my info it kept shaking/rejecting it, only thing I can think is that could I have possibly entered my password wrong twice, don't know, I'm still scratching my head.

    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

I had my information stored so that when I wanted to purchase music, I had only to indicate what I wanted to buy and it would present me with a sign in scree, where I could put in my password, and then the account information screen to add my security code from the credit card, and the music should be mine. However, it would not accept the security code, and tells me that there are unacceptable characters in with my credit card information.
